ArchiLimited:LOL at the emboldened. You're absolutely correct. Even as rich as Ned Nwoko is, he stylishly dodged the invitation on expedition to the Titanic wreck site when his British billionaire and his long time friend, who died as a result of the implosion of the oceangate sub recently first invited him. Not only are blacks lacking in this area, we don't seem to cherish holidaying, either alone or with family too. Its work, work and work yet, we never get rich like most whites . In 2019, I was in LA's Walt Disney Adventure. I invited a nairalander whom I mentored, until he graduated from a Nigerian University before he travelled to the US. He was in another state in the US so I invited him over to LA. Thank goodness, my hotel, located close to Disneyland had 2 single beds and since arrival, na my luggage dey occupy the 2nd bed. In short, we went to Knotberry Park and Disneyland together, took pictures and all. By the time we entered Disneyland, I didn't see a single blackman or woman. All of them were whites. They lined up to buy ticket and those who were already in were all whites too, with family. I was like, were there no blacks in America too, who could come here this summer or from outside the US? People came from other countries too. As we were about leaving the venue, I finally sighted a black guy. You needed to see the way he too was gazing at us as if we just landed from the moon lol. I still don't undestand why blacks don't like adventures and exploration. Last night I watched the BBC news in which tourists were complaining of intense heat in Greece. I looked closely, no blacks seen among the tourists. |
raskymonojendor:All the old generation of leaders have a hard in the destruction of Nigeria and her future. It is because God owns this country, we're still standing. People like tinubu shouldn't be allowed to near the corridor of power again. Their era is gone. They can't function well in the present day world. Yet, out of sentiments, some went and voted him. If you're one of them, you can't be attacking obj this way. You're also one of those supporting them. They are all the same. |
abibun:Forget gun mata. Anything can happen in Nigeria. It could be planted there by the police. By the way, thinking someone like emefiele wouldn't have access to gun is laughable. Emefiele sin wasn't about the gun per se. They just wanted to hold on to it ni. His sin was the naira redesign, which buhari did in the 80s through the CBN government at that time |
Neduzze5:It's going to be an effort in futility. It was buhari who sent him a message. He did same in the 80s. Except tinubu wants to arrest buhari which is impossible |
Na buhari send am message. Only those who were around in the 80s would know this truth. My grandpa lost a lot of money which was returned from the defunct national bank because he couldn't meet the deadline set, for depositing old notes. Emefiele's travails won't last, except they want to also arrest buhari. Buhari/emefiele would have succeeded, had we still been under a military rule and a lot of people who owned billions illegitimately would have lost it. Fortunately and unfortunately, we're in a democracy. Who wan arrest or challenge the military and those appointed to work under them nah? |
victorVIC1:Exactly |
Sirseedorf:You don't want the company to also fold up naw. There's no emotion in business bro |
Sirseedorf:They're not father xmas. Hope you know |
blazepascal:We should try and respect each other's religion. We all know Islam isnt as tolerant as Christianity. Bibles could be burnt or thrown at sea as done by that late multibillionaire and we won't raise eyebrows. Muslims wouldn't take such lightly. While we remain tolerant as preached by Christ, we should also always respect other's religion in order to continue to maintain peace. David did the right thing. |
All these are physical attributes which mean nothing. What of the spiritual aspect? Are you compatible spiritually? Would you guys last as couple and be fruitful in all areas? Most of those using physical and material attributes as yardstick for future partners end up regretting. Last weekend, I was seeing a client on the island. They're very wealthy. If I mention the name here, this thread go full with attacks but it's not necessary. They have a son who's like 2 feet tall. He's in his 30s. He can't feed on his own. They always shut the door at him each time they're going for events. He's rarely known by the public. Each time they see this guy, they always feel sad. Before you enter their house, you must go through all manner of security screening as if you're entering an embassy for a visa appointment. The wife is an epitome of beauty. She also schooled abroad as the husband. He's their only son. Marerial things and careers don't guarantee ultimate happiness in marriage. See God's face before you marry. Also, don't marry because of material wealth or career achievements. Look at those successful people today. They had a history of humble beginnings. I never knew Dangote and Pastor Adeboye were never born of rich parents until I heard their history from Mama ijesha, a nonagenarian who lives at ijeshatedo area of lagos. Dangote came from Kano to lagos as a boy and was squatted by Mallam Maitama who happened to be mama ijesha's first tenant. She showed me their apartment on the ground floor the day I visited her. I bought my land from her son, who asked me to see him on his arrival from the UK. The woman said pastor adeboye once worked part time at her uncle's place, a popular cocoa merchant back in the days. One day, the man had to tell pastor adeboye to stop coming to work there so he could concentrate on his studies and gave him scholarship...many won't hear a story like this but the sweet sides when Dangote's uncle gave him money to start business and all. This generation is too materialistic. |
Heroicvic:Good! All tribes have their peculiar vices. Even the drug you talked about has now become a wazobia thing. Its only yahoo the north is yet to adopt. If only our leaders could lead by example, all these vices would stop and we'd be proud of Nigeria once again. It begins with them, not with the masses |
INVINCIBLECSP1:Tell him. We should also preach this to our kids. Only by doing so would we have a prosperous Nigeria. At times when I read the posts of some people here, I shake my head. If they occupy any political office, they'd be worse than those we call leaders |
This confirms that Nigerian universities are still maintaining the set standards. The FG only needs to do the needful by funding it appropriately and paying doctors to prevent the japa |
helinues:They were taken to the military hospital's Morgue. They didn't release their body. When we said people died, you guys said its a lie. The military perpetrated a lot of atrocities that night. I remember those sent to grandville in lekki as well some of them were attended to by my friend Dr Ayo while he referred those with heavy gunshots wounds to luth and lasuth. They died on their way. God won't keep quiet over this atrocity. It might not be soon but I trust He will strike |
Yes, Messi speaks English but he doesn't carry it on his head |
Dshocker:23 now |
iSense247:Yes naw. Go to your bank and ask if they have a branch in cotonou. Or ask for any bank that has a branch there and open an account with them. You may open a dom account with them and put your dollars there. But ask first, if you can be able to withdraw your money from the dom account when you get to Cotonou. Go to the airport and buy your ticket. Its safer that way than carrying cash across the border. Alternatively, tell your people you're going to meet and any of your relations abroad to buy your ticket for you. Get to Cotonou and withdraw your money, fly and pay your relation when you get to your destination as agreed. Good luck. |
Dshocker:I pity her |
emmaodet:Where did I compare myself with others and vice versa? I only encouraged people to take risks by harping on that paragraph. If you don't take risks, you may not succeed in life. Noting more nothing less. I remember some of my friends back then telling me i was just wasting my time, that the embassy would only use my money to plant flowers and deny me visa to school. he's neither here nor there today. Don't be afraid of taking risks |
iSense247:In cotonou, yes. But confirm that your bank has a branch there first. |
nairalanda1:You had a point but funding education by any reasonable government shouldn't be a rocket science, i maintain. They just deliberately allow the monies they should have spent on education go the wrong route. Have you forgotten the accountant general who single handedly stole over 100bn naira? He returned a paltry sum and was let alone. That's just one individual. Do you know how many of his likes who were never caught? Maybe the guy was too greedy and was exposed that way. He would have been executed if he were a Chinese, likewise most of those in government today and we'd have had a progressive and prosperous nation. You and i were in this country when presidential candidates of leading political parties were dashing out 50kusd, 25kusd to buy delegates votes. It can't happen in any reasonable countries with serious-minded leaders. These are the people myopic nigerians are defending. Do you know how much ASUU was asking for? There's this 75bn which the fed govt kept mum about, which is to be shared by the NA. Why didn't NA, the highest paid in the world say they'd give part of it to educatiin which most of them in the NA were beneficiaries of...or the federal government advised them to do so? At the state level, former governors receive huge amount of pensions, they just allocate money to themselves anyhow after the sitting governors must have stolen more than enough and left crumbs for education at state level. It's really very hard to defend these moronz in government. Leadership is our problem, not whether there's enough funds to vote for education or not. They're just too corrupt. I always talk of India who rose from nothing to something, despite their huge population and lean natural resources...about becoming the world most populous nation. Our government lacks discipline. They pretend to be patriotic when they're not. If we keep defending them, they'd continue to rubbish the citizens and things would get worse. Where were the likes of UAE in those days of Pa Awo? Who even wanted to go abroad for whatever reason? We had almost all here. You may say our gdp was low back then and so also our population. Our earnings today aren't so lean as we had in those days as well. Population had also grown vis a vis, our GDP. Tell them to cut government spending, stop corruption and vote what they stole on education and you'd see their wrath. |
Dshocker:I understand you. They're of same tribe. Only God can pay him back in his coin. People are terribly wicked. I'm not sure she's in any relationship now. She doesn't tell me anything than greetings anymore. |
HacheNoire:You said... How many countries are tertiary education free and inexpensive? What was our population in the 60’s and 80’s compared to what we have now? ...now let me ask you these questions too? What's the population of China in the 60s and what is it now? Why did Chinese govt spend so much on education and research? We're over 200m population today Whereas, China is 5 times more populated than us. Population isn't the issue but leadership. What's the Indian population today? The last time I checked, they'd soon overtake China yet, their government never stopped funding education and research. Nigerians are there schooling. Up to 90s, we had Indians schooling here. Now, you can't find any. The government had improved so well on their education sector. Sadly,.only in Nigeria do we give excuses instead of blaming bad leadership on our woes. During my schooling in US, I didn't see a single Chinese in my department. Those few seen had their parents living there as citizens. Some still preferred sending their children home to school. Why is Nigeria mata come dey different? Our growing population shouldn't be an excuse because budget in the 60s isn't also same as now, so also are revenues generated by the govt. No excuse at all. If Awolowo could build one of the best universities in their time with revenues from cocoa, what happens to revenues from crude oil, customs duties, taxes, royalties from telecommunications, just name it? How many public universities do we even have,.compared to China and India who are 5 times our population? Make una try to dey read and go out small, small so you guys can stop defending the indefensible. An accountant general stole over 200bn naira when ASUU, a nationwide body was asking for something smaller...the man is still walking freely today. What of the 75bn to be voted to national assembly who are not up to 1000 people? The government knows what to do but I doubt they'd go that route. The day we end bad leadership is when we'd begin to get it right in Nigeria. There are millions of non-citizens in America today whose children are enjoying free education. When you want to destroy a country's future, just discourage education and you'd win. Enough said! |
AsomughaChuks05:How? Have you forgotten nans supported Tinubu's election? Google is your friend. So, when some things aren't right , those who voted their leaders shouldn't protest abi? The federal government knows what to do, if they really mean well for Nigeria. Imagine only the NA sharing over 75bn naira, a less than 1k population? Common! Check the percentage of the annual budgets on education with countries and compare it with Nigeria's. Its like nothing. Education is the future of any nation. When pa Awolowo was sending people into homes and buying sweets for the children just to encourage them to follow those people to school which was also free( the govt bought everything), a particular region back then said, it was a waste of money and education can't be free. Which region is the most educated today? Which region is the most developed today? Which region is most peaceful today in Nigeria? You can answer that yourself. That's what education can do whennthe govt is fully involved. The region that said it can't be free back then is worse by all manner of vices and poverty today. The few among them who are leaders today either schooled here or they attended missionary schools in their regions which was also free back then. Where education can't be free, it should be well run and funded by the government. Most of our people running overseas to study do go to public institutions. Education and Healthcare are Well funded over there. Inschooled in a public institution over there. Imagine German universities offering almost 100% tuition free in scholarship to our people. A friend's brother benefited from this. What do you now think they'd do to their own people? Nobody knew covenant, bowen, babcock, ajayi Crowther, etc back then. Our universities ranked among the best globally cos government was fully involved and cared for the people. They weren't the best because people paid high fees back then. In the 70s up until early 90s, our tertiary institutions were well funded. I used to see foreigners in UI back then, schooling. UCH was the best hospital in africa and 4th in commonwealth back then. Patients were being flown into Nigeria from as far as Egypt. Let the govt invest in education instead of unleashing hardship on Nigerians. That's why they're in government, not about sharing money. Imagine one accountant general stealing over 100bn naira? That's just one person who was exposed. Maybe he didn't settle people well cos there are lots of them like that who have not been caught yet Education is the back bone and future of every nation |
HacheNoire:When things are good, people would praise the government but when things are bad, they reprimand them and when this happens, nobody should see it as witch-hunt. Its part of democracy. Your notion that tertiary institutions or public university can't be funded by government isnt good enough. If in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, public universities were well funded by the federal government with lots of encouragement on their part to get Nigerians educated, nothing should change now. Many of those in govt today were beneficiaries of the govt's well-funded universities in their time, including the 100% tuition free declared by awolowo. The situation is still the same in many countries of the world today, who want something good for their people. Public schools are almost free in many countries and they see the results on their economy, development, etc today. In America, education is free in the public schools up to a certain level, regardless of your citizenship status. It's heavily funded by the govt. In some countries, its 50% free while international students only bear the burden. My cousin attended a public university in Russia. It was almost free. Russian govt funds them. Why is Nigeria an exception? How many people were going to private universities in those days? Did we even have one? What has changed....its bad leadership. Why would people who are less than 1000 in population share over 75bn naira in the national assembly when ASUU was only asking for so little, part of which was for the development of unis in the country? Why not reduce the number of lawmakers and use the money to fund education? If you check the budget on education each year, you'd feel sorry for Nigerians. The result is where we are as a nation today...unemployment,.insecurity, yahoo yahoo, ritual killings, economic woes, etc. What will end this nonsense is revolution. Sadly, our people forget things easily. Endsars is still fresh. Nobody ever knew it would happen. All tribes participated in it. They should prevent something worse by doing the needful. They're the ones taking the lion share in our annual budget. |
Acekidc4:There's nothing apc had denied in the past which didn't later come to pass, likewise the pdp when they were in power. When I heard Jonathan was going to postpone elections in 2015 from a general in the army, I was like, would this ever happen? The pdp even reassured us it would hold, until the dying minute. I remember the 3 most recent info which leaked out from the apc camp. Akeredolu was said to have been incapacitated but the apc denied it. They even showed his picture which he managed to take with those who visited him looking frail with slim neck Adamu, the apc chairman was said to have resigned but the apc debunked it. Today, you and I know he has resigned voluntarily. They said discos was going to increase tariff but the apc said its fake news. Is it still fake news? All the so called leaders have loyalists in every sector of government. Not every civil servant is loyal to the ruling party, hope you know this. By the time someone like atiku speaks out, you should know he means what he's saying cos before any information would get to the public, they receive it first hand. They have their intelligence nets everywhere as they were once in government. In my opinion, there's no need to intimidate or arrest anyone. Let justice he served. If tinubu truly won the election, no need to panic. The judgement would still favour him |
Dshocker:I encouraged exposing the guy but the poor girl was trying to avoid stigmatisation. She doesn't even go to any hospital nearby to collect her ARVs. She travels to another state. She doesn't look sick cos she takes them regularly. I believe there's nothing God can't do. It's a lesson for everyone. I don't want to mention tribe here. The walls have ears. You're not the only one reading this post |
Taylor90:No smoke without fire. Out of a million lies , there's an iota of truth. These guys know each other more than we think. Before any news fly out, they've gotten the information first. Just like every other past leaders. Atiku has allies everywhere, including in the judiciary and they're still loyal to him till today. There's no information coming from the elites mouth today which wouldn't come to pas later in this country cos they always choose their words with caution. By the time they speak out to the public, then you know they are 100% sure of the information. Let's wait and see what happens. When they said Akeredolu was incapacitated in a Nigerian hospital, they denied it. Today, the rest is history. When they said Adamu, the apc chairman who recently resigned voluntarily had resigned, the apc said it was fake news, the rest is history today. When they said discos were going to increase tariff, they said its fake news. Today, its no longer fake....those were the most recent info they denied, which came to pass. |
Dshocker:Only her sister is aware. I doubt they've told their parents till now. The guy travelled back. The sister at some point wanted to summon the courage and expose the guy but then, she was afraid he may deny it and call her sister names because according to both sisters, they know the type of person he has always been and cos they grew up together, he could tell the entire family and deny everything. The girl is so beautiful, so sad. It would be difficult to drag him to the lab for a test cos he's left the country already. |
Are they still in existence? I wish they had developed their market with same spirit they penetrated Nigeria with. I really loved their aggressive marketing. They almost sent the existing network providers packing. |
jackcanfield:That's not the case. Poisoning via drinks is the order of the day. Hardly would a week pass without hearing of drinks-related death. People should just abstain from group or free drinks. You don't know who's monitoring you. Many people's conscience is dead nowadays. Your supposedly close friend could turn out to be your worst enemy |
