jackcanfield:That's not the case. Poisoning via drinks is the order of the day. Hardly would a week pass without hearing of drinks-related death. People should just abstain from group or free drinks. You don't know who's monitoring you. Many people's conscience is dead nowadays. Your supposedly close friend could turn out to be your worst enemy |
Dshocker:His neigbour who lived in Philippines. He came back home and slept with her unprotected. Pror to that time, she had not met any guy in a very long time. Her sister also confirmed this. They both know the guy as they grew up together before he travelled. Barely 3 months after they both met, she began seeing lymph nodes coming out of her body with strange rashes. |
IbeOkehie:Benin had light everywhere and this is what i know, what I've seen with my eyes. Internet too is at speed of light. Have you been there before? Go find out yourself instead of being in doubt of my claim. You don't need to get angry or take it personal. You don't have to dwell on whatever I told you also. You may also ask anyone you know, who has been there . Amazingly, Nigeria's grid runs into Benin Republic. I've not been to Ghana before so I can't say anything about Ghana. But something must have encouraged the likes of Unilever, Michelin, Nigerite, Dunlop, PZ , etc to relocate their factories there and left Nigeria |
Acekidc4:Dem don start again, dey defend the indefensible ok?. You guys should know what you exhibit is nothing but an act of wickedness. Why is it only in Nigeria, the acclaimed giants of Africa is this madness happening? Find out if they also do this shift thing in other African countries who also import or consume petrol, most especially the oil producing countries amongst them, as a result of subsidy removal. |
When we're not in war. Tinubu really messed up big time by putting a cart before a horse |
nairalanda1:What I drew from your point is, nigerian universities are underfunded. The federal government should scale up the funding and not by pushing the funding burden on Nigerians. Go and check the budget on education and health, then compare it with that of national assembly with less than 1,000 population. Its really sad. Government spends hugely on education in many countries, except Nigeria. Education should be heavily subsidised and not made expensive. No government should expect revenues from education sector by making it expensive. It shapes the future of every nation My parents were beneficiaries of awolowo's free education. Maybe They'd not have had the opportunities of going to school in their time. Awolowo spent a lot in subsidising education in his time. He didn't use oil money but cocoa proceeds. That's what he used to also build OAU. How many universities in Nigeria can stand the strength of OAU today? How much was the average salary of the few civil servants in those days? Their take home can't pay their children fees but awolowo made it free. South west isn't just developed today. Those who had the opportunity of going to school due to free education made it happen. They became successful and the property got spread everywhere. Many non yorubas had to change their names to yoruba to benefit from free education. That's what education can do. Let them upgrade our universities first, increase budget for it too to cober staff salaries, then it wouid be logical when the govt says they're reviewing fees and not in the way that it will hurt parents. |
nairalanda1:Since fees in Nigeria is low, according to you, then there's no need to protest nah. If the police sights any protester, they should arrest them. Have you heard of sudan crisis? Thousands of Nigerians were enjoying very low fees in a well run and fully fortified university before the war started. Some were studying medicine and engineering courses there. Their fees were even much more lower than what most government universities pay here. Its almost free, even with feeding. That's how it should be in Nigeria as it was in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Government should heavily subsidise education to allow the children of the poor afford it, not by increasing fees. In Germany today, some Givernment schools offer full scholarships to international students. That's how it should be. Those defending evil will have a share of it, no be curse. |
pandoragirigory:Leave these people alone. Did you read the below, which is the excerpt from the main newspiece? This was exclusively disclosed to our correspondent in a statement titled “Warning Against Tuition Fee Increment”, on Saturday, signed by the NAUS Chairman and National Deputy President, Eruobami Ayobami and Babalola Daniel, respectively Did you spot any igbo name there ? Amazingly, na our people sabi protest pass. I was called unprintable names here when i was busy warning them. If anyone is seen protesting, police should do them shege |
It's not protest that you need. You need to plead for forgiveness for wilfully voting out of bigotry. Police must deal ruthlessly with any protester. They deserve the suffering |
iSense247:Naija banks dey cotonou too nah. You can withdraw from your dom account there |
IbeOkehie:I see your post as nothing but consolation. I'm Nigerian too, just like you and I want the best out of her. Truth be told, Nigeria isn't the way it used to be in terms of development and living standards as it used to be. Have you been to Benin Republic in the 90s and recently? Must everything collapse before we accept the truth. The flights going to same destination from 2 different countries which are less than 200km apart has over 1.3m naira difference. If this doesn't worry you, then you're simply lying to yourself. Every home has light uninterrupted in Benin Republic. It has good roads and currency that remained stable for decades. I was at Apapa in Benin recently. I was like.. wow! 1k naira used to be worth over 10k cefa. They're not crude exporters mind you.. you'd meet your car intact anywhere you parked outside, days after. We locked our borders with them for years, thinking they obky depended on us to survive yet, their economy didn't crumble and their currency remained stable. The last time I checked , we were the ones who were badly hit. In the 80s, 90s, up till late 2000s, Benin Republic used to send their children to Nigeria as house maids cos of our strong currency. Look everywhere today, they've disappeared. Cefa has overtaken naira. Check it yourself. I visit Benin regularly. The last time I checked, Nigeria is the poverty hq of the world, not Benin Republic. What does that mean to you, development or progress? You said Benin doesn't print their own country, does Nigeria print their own naira? What of our international passport? |
seguno2:I don't believe so. Go to Ghana, Togo, Burkina Faso, Senegal and see how much they chsish sport. It boils down to leadership, not races. We have bad leaders here. Why do you think the counties I mentioned always domi ate club sides in Europe? Why do you think their citizens always dominate Olympics? We lack sports sense here, bi tha ks to our leaders. You can imagine the federal government owing coaches thehr allowances .Have you ever seen LeBron James play before in America? He took pics with Messi in that game. James is a black man. This isn't about race but our corrupt and bad leaders. Have you ever heard of Tobi Amusan? Thank God the girl was offered scholarship to school in America where she developed her talents. They'd have killed that talent here. She'd have given up due to lack of sponsorship from the govt. She's the world record holder in hurdles today. |
iSense247:There are airlines desks there at the airport just the way we have them here in Nigeria. They accept usd, cad dollars , euros and cefa Its better you have either usd or euro handy. Cefa is more valuable than naira now sef |
Candidlady:Tell your fiend to take a cab from the seme or idi iroko border to the Benin airport. It won't cost more than 80k. Fly for less than 500k to any European destination and up to 745k to the Americas. Get immigration pass at the border from both the Nigerian and benenois sides. This would aid your check in at thehr Airport without hassles. You'd feel at home there as you hear our people who are Benin citizens speak Yoruba to you. Everywhere is calm. Leave Nigeria and their useless leaders and supporters. I hope they won't destroy the heritage put in place by our forefathers someday with their bad policies which are being hailed by their blind supporters. Our youths will learn the hard way. Time never reach dem to gain wisdom. They think Benin Republic too doesn't import petroleum products, including petrol and aviation fuel like we do right? How many of our petrol tankers are being smuggled into Benin as claimed by these thieves in govt? They keep deceiving the gullible youths and they too are always swallowing their lies hook,.like and sinker. Life is normal in Benin despite the removal of petrol subsidy. Don't let them bother you again with their lies. I expect international flight to become so expensive in Benin after the subsidy removal but its over 200% cheaper than what we have back home. Nigeria will remain stagnant until we remove propaganda from our polity, just to have our ways. One website called nairametrics claimed dollar hit 1,000 yesterday at the black market . This is a pure lie. Rather, it crashed to 850 naira. I sold a few yesterday. Some bdcs bought at 845 too. I didn't sell to the guy i first contacted cos his rate was too low. Propaganda won't help us as a nation. Google the owner of nairametrics.com |
seguno2:The truth is, we don't love sports that much in Nigeria. Go to our stadiums. They've been turned places for political meetings and rallies |
ibechris:Most expecially, the 2nd to the last paragraph. I took a lot of risks with my little salary. I spent all my savings on traveling abroad in my 20s when my peers were busy thinking of building houses and settling down. The money on education and traveling alone was enough to build a 3-bedroom apartment in lagos. But today, according to my Muslim friends, all i can say is , alhamdulilahi cos none of those in my peer group can match me. |
Shantyken:I'm not being sarcastic bro and I didn't mean rich Nigerians don't exist. I spent close to that building my house. Don't forget that over half of our population is poor. |
VULCAN:South Africa kę. Lol |
ednut1:Or they say those who fell victim weren't smart enough. Na so one girl wey I dey groom dey always advise snub me suddenly. She felt i was too protective and always on her neck. For a while, she stopped talking to me and began to sound rude at some point. Since when she contracted HIV, her body don calm. She's come back to her normal self now but it's too late. Recently she complained that her ARV drug was too harsh on her. I was like, you have to deal with that for the rest of your life. You can't live normal again |
TemplarLandry:You no fit go Benue oo, as you dey appreciate the woman's beauty like this. Tivs have beautiful women. Most of them don't go outside their state . Nigerian ladies are the most beautiful in Africa. Sadly, the encroachment of Western culture is making them behave strangely all in the name of feminism |
ganisucks:Elrufai no be kaduna governor anymore nah. Did you read the newspiece at all? |
seunmsg:So, if you're arrested or your vehicle was impounded unlawfully, you can't challenge it in court? Only thieves would not. By the way, your narrative didn't add up. This is a court case, which can be appealed against, if you dare to. Go and pull out the case file from the net and read with your eye glasses on, if you wear one |
My 100usd can't be forfeited by any agency and I'd not sue them, if the money is legit. Its over 400k usd (over NGN339,000,000) we're talking, someone's life savings 😆. Millions of individual Nigerians can't see that in a lifetime |
ThothHermes:How? Go and read through West African Charter which guarantees free entry and free exit. Nigerians have been traveling through cotonou to any part of the world no be today. Even after covid-19, I travelled . I always see Nigerians there each time. If you want to save cost traveling to Canada or France, cotonou it is. My worry is the Nigeria immigration at the border post who might use the opportunity of cheap flight information makijg the rounds to extort money from Nigerians. E dey their blood. If you don't break their rules, no issues |
Day169:Poor leadership, yes!. I'm quite aware of the time Benin Republic used to throng Lagos Airport. Now, the reverse is the case. Nothing lasts forever. How are the mighty fallen ![]() Instead of having a national carrier, Hadi Sirika went and scammed us by bringing a hired plane into Nigeria from Addis Ababa whucb had been flying for 11 years, painted it in Nigeria Air colour, sent back same plane a few days after the ceremony and the flight was repainted in its original Ethiopia Airlines colour ,flying its normal route. See guy, i see revolution coming. Mark today's date |
Like I mentioned in the other thread. Anyone who wishes to travel to either USA or Canada should just go to cotonou and fly if you want to save and enyoy your money. You'd be glad you did. I was happy a friend gave me the hint. No stress, no hassles. Buy your ticket and fly. You may book your return to Nigeria shaa but it would still be high. I don't know why naija own com dey like dis. Ghana is far but flights from there to any destination too is far lower than what's obtainable here as learnt. I hope our people wouldn't throng Benin Republic soon and cause flights to shoot up I saw a slot of them there, traveling too. |
elloso:Yes, if you're Nigerian. Dear nairalanders. Anyone who wishes to travel to America or Canada should consider departing through cotonou or Ghana. Rates are amazingly cheap when you travel in either of these countries to those destinations. Try it and thank me later. This country, Helen! If you don't go out, you may think certain things are a norm. Who come do us like this? Thanks to my friend who jami si. See as the airport in Benin Republic was seething with nigerians 😃 . Everyone was in a rush even when there was no need to rush. |
Battlefield2:Did you read their terms and conditions, or you just jumped it over and accepted it in a rush? |
princeade86:Cos they don't have any control over Google play store. But via an IP, they can still block them in a way |
udemzyudex:lolz |
In as much as I'm not in.support of the tariff increase as it would aggravate the sufferings of Nigerians, I think its inevitable. They go to petrol station to buy fuel into official vehicles for operational and other reasons too. They go to market to buy materials. They also pay the reviewed customs tariff on their equipment. That call won't hold water, from the business man's perspective |
Weldone David. But please someone should tell him to reduce that whitener he uses. It could decolonize his good-looking natural teeth much later such that he would wish he never went that route. It could have effects on his gum too, if he does the UV type God won't forget your good deeds guy. |
