Hope people are not buying expired or adultrated drinks... And don't keep a drink for too long ... They do have shelf life ...if you don't want to drink give it to another... Especially those storing wine in cellars .
That's not the case. Poisoning via drinks is the order of the day. Hardly would a week pass without hearing of drinks-related death. People should just abstain from group or free drinks.

You don't know who's monitoring you. Many people's conscience is dead nowadays. Your supposedly close friend could turn out to be your worst enemy

Benin Republic is just another poor, undeveloped, mismanaged Black African cesspool. Maybe it's better than Nigeria but that's as meaningless as saying Sweden is better than Canada.

I remember how people would say everywhere in Ghana has 24hr electricity then I found out it was just some sections of major cities. Well Nigerians should move over to Benin Republic and go live there. Nonsense.

Good Luck to Nigerians!
Benin had light everywhere and this is what i know, what I've seen with my eyes. Internet too is at speed of light. Have you been there before? Go find out yourself instead of being in doubt of my claim. You don't need to get angry or take it personal. You don't have to dwell on whatever I told you also. You may also ask anyone you know, who has been there . Amazingly, Nigeria's grid runs into Benin Republic.

I've not been to Ghana before so I can't say anything about Ghana. But something must have encouraged the likes of Unilever, Michelin, Nigerite, Dunlop, PZ , etc to relocate their factories there and left Nigeria

The harsh truth is our fees are low. Let's not lie.

Also, having low fees hasn't made our universities better. It has made them worse. Years of paying N20000 fees has made everything bad, and given us generations of half baked graduates.

I am not a fan of tinubu, and if it was Obi in charge and he was increasing fees, I would fully understand why. The harsh truth is that years of low fees have given us bad universities, with bad facilities, and academics leaving the country for greener pastures.

And Sudan unis charge fees in the range of 900000 naira and above, probably higher for foreigners like Nigerians.

Oga, forget politics, unless you want to spend 26% of our budget on education, which we should, our universities are underfunded. Or would it take another ASUU strike under this government before you see it (and yes, ASUU is going to go on strike again...no be lie).

UN got 25 billion naira this year. Sounds a lot, until you realize that is just 31 million dollars. Some foreign universites spend up to 100 million if not more as budget, yet we think that with 31 million we can be like 100million university? Okay.
What I drew from your point is, nigerian universities are underfunded. The federal government should scale up the funding and not by pushing the funding burden on Nigerians. Go and check the budget on education and health, then compare it with that of national assembly with less than 1,000 population. Its really sad.

Government spends hugely on education in many countries, except Nigeria. Education should be heavily subsidised and not made expensive. No government should expect revenues from education sector by making it expensive. It shapes the future of every nation

My parents were beneficiaries of awolowo's free education. Maybe They'd not have had the opportunities of going to school in their time. Awolowo spent a lot in subsidising education in his time. He didn't use oil money but cocoa proceeds. That's what he used to also build OAU. How many universities in Nigeria can stand the strength of OAU today? How much was the average salary of the few civil servants in those days? Their take home can't pay their children fees but awolowo made it free.

South west isn't just developed today. Those who had the opportunity of going to school due to free education made it happen. They became successful and the property got spread everywhere. Many non yorubas had to change their names to yoruba to benefit from free education. That's what education can do. Let them upgrade our universities first, increase budget for it too to cober staff salaries, then it wouid be logical when the govt says they're reviewing fees and not in the way that it will hurt parents.

I doubt fees won't have been increased if Obi was the one in Aso Rock.

Fees in Nigeria are low. The countries with good education fund them either by the kind of tax rates that would scare Nigerians, or by loans and grants, which students take to pay for their education.

Whoever is in Aso Rock, fees have to go up, or we beg IMF for more money.
Since fees in Nigeria is low, according to you, then there's no need to protest nah. If the police sights any protester, they should arrest them. Have you heard of sudan crisis? Thousands of Nigerians were enjoying very low fees in a well run and fully fortified university before the war started. Some were studying medicine and engineering courses there. Their fees were even much more lower than what most government universities pay here. Its almost free, even with feeding. That's how it should be in Nigeria as it was in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Government should heavily subsidise education to allow the children of the poor afford it, not by increasing fees. In Germany today, some Givernment schools offer full scholarships to international students. That's how it should be.

Those defending evil will have a share of it, no be curse.

There's nothing "normal" about life in Benin Republic. There's very few Black African nations with good living standards. The real propaganda is how one African country or another is always singled out as a the new venue for the long anticipated Afro-Renaissance. It ALWAYS turns out to be exaggerated nonsense.

Nigeria was once touted as the new paradise in the 1950's and then in the early 2000's. I got taken in by that lie grin
Then it was Ghana with it's new crude oil discovery, we should have asked what happened to the money from their gold and cocoa?
Next was Ethiopia, now that country is dealing with a big political and economic crisis, I think a Civil War is ongoing.
Right now the reigning story is Rwanda.... grin

None of these SUCCESS STORIES ever turns out to be real or viable in the long run. Benin Republic is just another poor FRENCH COLONY,, they don't even print their own currency and their monetary and defense policy is dictated from France, by LEGAL AGREEMENT.

Benin Republic exists for the convenience and enrichment of FRANCE, it's just as underdeveloped as the rest of Black Africa. The only safe and stable African countries are Botswana, Namibia and a few others and we know exactly why they're like that. It's time Africans stopped lying to themselves and stop faking and do what's needed to develop their Continent.

Good Luck to Nigerians!
I see your post as nothing but consolation. I'm Nigerian too, just like you and I want the best out of her. Truth be told, Nigeria isn't the way it used to be in terms of development and living standards as it used to be. Have you been to Benin Republic in the 90s and recently? Must everything collapse before we accept the truth. The flights going to same destination from 2 different countries which are less than 200km apart has over 1.3m naira difference. If this doesn't worry you, then you're simply lying to yourself.

Every home has light uninterrupted in Benin Republic. It has good roads and currency that remained stable for decades. I was at Apapa in Benin recently. I was like.. wow! 1k naira used to be worth over 10k cefa. They're not crude exporters mind you.. you'd meet your car intact anywhere you parked outside, days after. We locked our borders with them for years, thinking they obky depended on us to survive yet, their economy didn't crumble and their currency remained stable. The last time I checked , we were the ones who were badly hit.

In the 80s, 90s, up till late 2000s, Benin Republic used to send their children to Nigeria as house maids cos of our strong currency. Look everywhere today, they've disappeared. Cefa has overtaken naira. Check it yourself. I visit Benin regularly. The last time I checked, Nigeria is the poverty hq of the world, not Benin Republic. What does that mean to you, development or progress?

You said Benin doesn't print their own country, does Nigeria print their own naira? What of our international passport?

I don't believe so. Go to Ghana, Togo, Burkina Faso, Senegal and see how much they chsish sport. It boils down to leadership, not races. We have bad leaders here. Tell your fiend to take a cab from the seme or idi iroko border to the Benin airport. It won't cost more than 80k. Fly for less than 500k to any European destination and up to 745k to the Americas. Get immigration pass at the border from both the Nigerian and benenois sides. This would aid your check in at thehr Airport without hassles. You'd feel at home there as you hear our people who are Benin citizens speak Yoruba to you. Everywhere is calm.

Leave Nigeria and their useless leaders and supporters. I hope they won't destroy the heritage put in place by our forefathers someday with their bad policies which are being hailed by their blind supporters. Our youths will learn the hard way. Time never reach dem to gain wisdom.

They think Benin Republic too doesn't import petroleum products, including petrol and aviation fuel like we do right? How many of our petrol tankers are being smuggled into Benin as claimed by these thieves in govt? They keep deceiving the gullible youths and they too are always swallowing their lies hook,.like and sinker.

Life is normal in Benin despite the removal of petrol subsidy. Don't let them bother you again with their lies. I expect international flight to become so expensive in Benin after the subsidy removal but its over 200% cheaper than what we have back home. Nigeria will remain stagnant until we remove propaganda from our polity, just to have our ways. One website called nairametrics claimed dollar hit 1,000 yesterday at the black market . This is a pure lie. Rather, it crashed to 850 naira. I sold a few yesterday. Some bdcs bought at 845 too. I didn't sell to the guy i first contacted cos his rate was too low. U must be very lucky to be among this age brackets.

That is because most of us who just clocked 40 or above can not reverse the hands of nature.

However, this the time and age when u should have nothing to do with laziness especially the men amongst u, hustle, work smart and hard if possible, do not cheat to enrich yourselves... it will backfire badly.

Save money, this is one crucial area that most of us don't keep up with. Many see this as the biggest task ever and like I have written in one of my writes up here, it was the money I saved during my early age as a student and during my service year that has made me what I am today. Save to invest, without savings u can't invest.

Avoid friends who only take from u, there is a motive in every relationship except for the needy among us, any relationship that is one sided and takes more from u...brothers and sisters, pls run oh.

Education is good but learn a handiwork, it is essentially important, especially a trade. U can never go wrong in it. Most igbo guys have demystified these areas and have hit it big time. The situation in the country has forwarned us that, there is not future for many in 8-5 jobs these days as most guys wished they had learnt a trade before now. After NYSC many of u will understand what I am trying to say.

Have a target, there is no rich man without a target, in fact, every organisation has its own target which they intend to achieve within a given time.

Learn to discuss ur plans with ur parents and see how far u can go...but in all, plan your life adequately

Take risk...it is very important u engage yourself in business that is profitable and risky at times and this will help u to be smart and better in any engagement u find yourself. To add to this, i have never seen or heard any rich man that has not lost money but there are many countless poor men and women who have never lost money, hence their poverty.

Finally, plan your life early and live a good live afterwards.

Good luck.
Most expecially, the 2nd to the last paragraph. I took a lot of risks with my little salary. I spent all my savings on traveling abroad in my 20s when my peers were busy thinking of building houses and settling down. The money on education and traveling alone was enough to build a 3-bedroom apartment in lagos. But today, according to my Muslim friends, all i can say is , alhamdulilahi cos none of those in my peer group can match me.

So, if VIO or FRSC fines me N5k today for traffic offense, is there any sense in wasting time challenging the order?

Since it’s a forfeiture resulting from a civil case, what’s the point fighting it? Tinubu was already a Senator when the forfeiture order was made against his account. So, it makes more sense to simply allow the civil forfeiture order stand than to keep wasting money on appeal. Same way we all pay VIO and FRSC fine for traffic offense without appeal.
So, if you're arrested or your vehicle was impounded unlawfully, you can't challenge it in court? Only thieves would not.

By the way, your narrative didn't add up. This is a court case, which can be appealed against, if you dare to. Go and pull out the case file from the net and read with your eye glasses on, if you wear one
