Odibembem:I didn't read why we struck? Lol. The first time I bought and read that book was in 1994 and I still keep a copy at home till now and recommended same to several NL members here and where they can get it. Ademoyega, because of his intelligence was the lead director of that coup. Kaduna Nzeogu whose name was being echoed as the leader was probably put together by some people in order to distort history. The brave soldiers were actually 5 in number. The above said, why are you saying you don't care of my tribal affiliation when you kept linking me with igbo in your posts by force, even referring to my fathers? Grow up! I'd remind you of today, someday. No need to argue further |

Who's talking Peter Obi here? Is it same Peter Obi that's causing the current situation in the country or the cause of what happened to our economy when Buhari was in power? I think I can understand what you're driving at which clearly proofs what I've been saying. You're not even a good student of history. Nzeogu wasn't the ring leader in that coup. Ademola Ademoyega was. The idea was to release Awo and declared him president. Don't even think I'm ibo cos I've been seeing the sign of tribalism in your post as predicted. I'm a full bloodied yorubaman. Go and read a book entitled Why We Struck. It was written by a prominent figure in that coup by the name Ademola Ademoyega. Maybe you'd learn something you didn't know until now. Stop dwelling on emotions and what people tell you. Read boy, read!! Except you are living in the moon would you accept we have good leadership in place, which even predated Tinubu's administration. This predated his givernment, so don't I'm being as emotional as you are. In a revolution, there must be sacrifices and only a coward would be afraid of it. On the final note, expect anything from either the military or the civilians in the country, should the situation remains abated. Thinking there can't be coup as if you control the army is laughable. Anything can happen, anytime |
Treasure17:E no dey show for face oo. If i upload HIV positive ladies and guys here, you would not want to marry again. It's unbelievable when fresh-skinned girls are said to be hiv+. They don't show symptoms simply because they take their ARVs regularly. Just be careful |
Odibembem:Point of correction, the 1999 constitution was quite different from those written by the former milirary leaders. Google will help you find the old copy of it. The 1999 constitution was amended to favour the elites and allow them to get away with the loots and their corrupt practices. That's why each time lawyers and media always refer to our constitution as 1999 constitution as amended The only thing that is constant in life is change. Nothing is impossible. It's laughable to think there can't be coup in Nigeria. What made you think so? All the variables are already there staring everyone in the face. If coup happens, Nigeria will not burn. Life will definitely move on. As long as you are still alive, nothing(including coup) is inevitable in a country like ours. |
Oh! What time did it happen? I drove past there about 3 hrs ago |
Goodlady:Bayowa Films...Good old days ![]() |
Nemesis0147:Of course. The ousted president messed up big time. My partner in Niger said they're in support if the coup. See the screenshot of our conversation below. I hope we get it right someday amd we'd all have a one voice against our corrupt leaders. We're still eating and drinking tribalism. We're not ready yet. The support Niger received from some African leaders clearly shows they don't respect tinubu's leadership as the leader of the region. They all have his profiles with them. Shame on those who voted this man with a corruption-ridden soul. No Nigerian leader in the past had been so disrespected whenever he lent his voice as an ECOWAS leader.

Odibembem:Who's talking of regional favouritism here? Since the start of coup d'etat in Nigeria after independence, has it ever favoured a particular section of the country? You'd answer that yourself. If your fear of a coup is that, north would be sidelined and the south would benefit from the amended constitution, then you're one of those enemies of the north because you don't want your region and the common masses to develop and enjoy a new lease of life. Look at the national assembly. If you say north constitutes the majority, I'd say yes. But how many of these law makers deliver on their promises? How many of them have successfully executed the various community projects in their various constituencies? The majority of them live in abuja. They hardly go home. But if the constitution could be amended such that, power would rest on the grass-roots and the local government could be fortified and allowed to run things without depending on state, you'd be amazed the level of development you'd see. North is the poorest region in Nigeria and a region with the highest number of out of school children on earth. That should bother you and I. All those law makers should be cut to size nationwide. The money they're eating can be used to develop all regions of the country. Only a change in constitution would address this. The constitution we have today only favours the elites not the masses. That's the truth. We can't continue to work with it. See when Nigeria was practising regional government, we had groundnut pyramids in the north, cotton in the north, cocoa , pil palm, rubber in the south. The common man was empowered to do agriculture and they had money in their pockets. Where is the pyramid today? Where are the cotton farms which used to supply the kaduna textiles pruned cotton materials? Where is the kaduna textiles itself today? That's caused a huge job loss in hundreds of thousands. Our leaders don't care. You can answer all that by yourself. I'm Nigerian first before my tribal affiliation, if you've ever read any of my posts, you'd know this. The coup idea isn't about sidelining the north. All regions are suffering from this constitution imposed on us. I don't believe in bokonharam or banditry. They're the consequence of the bad constitution which gave room for bad leaders to thrive. They're members of the society too. The government made them so radical, same as ipob. Boko haram means book is a sin or western education is a sin. When they see the governors , senators, ministers and their relations enjoying and sharing money , which belong to the masses for developmental purposes like road construction, agricultural subsidy and soft loans, education improvement, provision of portable water, etc , they'd say what's the essence of the so called western education which is enslaving instead of providing succour? They think once Islamic government is established, nobody dares steal what belongs to the masses anymore cos the person would be beheaded. This is the fact Nigerian leaders won't tell you. Killing them won't solve any problem. Once the government begins doing what's right, you'd never hear attacks by boko haram or bandits or ipob again. Only by changing our constitution by removing so much powers from them at the centre would this happen and I don't see our politicians doing that cos it would affect them. Only the military can do this. |
Kingsmeal:Dem full national assembly bro . You can imagine that Gov Dapo Abiodun's aide who's currently eating beans in American prison for defrauding the American government? He's supposed to be one of the elected national assembly members today. He had shown interest already and his candidature would have been unopposed. But the long arm of the law caught him before he went far.Just look at those supporting them on social media. They must be just like them cos you can't see evil and still go ahead and say he's a saint. Imagine the dapo abiodun being charged in Miami Dade for credit card fraud decades ago. The paper released even showed he served a jail term. Look at the former speaker and the deputy senate president too...thehr background checks will shock you. Such people can't be in power and you'd expect them to have human face. I'm an advocate of revolution. We're still playing. It will happen before our very eyes. Mark today's date. End sars would be a tip of the iceberg. |
sketcherJ:True, but there were a few private schools in those days. I remember the Children Home School in Ibadan, near St Anne's Church, when going towards challenge from malete. While public schools were admitting pupils into pry 1 at age 6, they were admitting at age 4 and 5, or depending on your stature and how easily you could catch up academically. The nominee could be right. Sadly, the majority of those senators attended public primary schools which they've jointly destroyed today. A larger percentage of children of nowadays attend private schools. God's judgement dey wait all of them |
BOYS2MEN:Before nko? They always use our mumu leaders, those who wouldn't stop running to them for help for the Greek gifts which they call foreign aids to exploit us. |
seuncyrus:Makinde actually tried in Oyo but the truth is, there are a lot of places he didn't touch in the ibadan metropolis. Maybe he'd look into it in his 2nd term. Its too early to apportion blame for now. I was in ibadan to see a brother at oke ado last month. I was shocked what I saw...from the NTC road, to sharp corner, to Joyce B road, Ososami road, to imalenfalaafia down to idi opę and the adjoining streets. Bad roads everywhere. I've not even explored other areas to see what's happening there. But all these can be fixed in one month. I know he's capable, going by his achievements in his 1st term. When we see good things , we should say it and when things are bad, we shouldn't keep quiet also. That said, states don't have power on palliatives. Its high time their workers knew this. Where's the money, except the federal government sends them succour? I don't see this happening soon. Even the committee set up for this purpose had said over the weekend that they don't see palliatives coming anytime soon. What does that mean? More sufferings for the masses. Tinubu really made mistakes in the subsidy removal plans. He put a cart before a horse not even the clueless Jonathan wouid do this. He ought to have put palliatives in place before removing the subsidy. Jonathan did this in his time. Its called sure-p. Every state got a share of it. People like tinubu mocked him back then, as if tinubu wouid have done it better. Tinubu could have borrowed money first and used it for this purpose before the subsidy removal. He removed subsidy and now borrowed later by sending the approval to the NA. The effect is what you and I are seeing on the poor masses today. Many People had abandoned their cars and taken to trekking. Is that enjoyment or sufferings? Shebi na Adamawa looting we see. Wait for what other states wouid do soonest. There's hunger in the land, an unprecedented one for that matter. |
Ozommadu:Ronu kęę, they're still sleeping after drinking a keg of highly alcoholic tribalism and bigotry. Wetin konsain me? See as some people would be defending this pain unleashed on the poor masses |
yemex04:they'd return to barracks. No where in the world wouid a military lead a country for a long time anymore as we had in the past. Even where coup were planned in African countries, they did a transition in a short time and resoted their democracy. Niger too would do same. We need one here. If the civilians do the right thing, military won't take over power. With or without them in power, their ogas are always enjoying. Hope you get. Tinubu feared this could happen and he retired some top ranking officers compulsorily recently. The truth is, thiose planning coup are not the ogas but the junior officers. If you and I are enjoying dividends of democracy which they are cornering to themselves in abuja, such thoughts wouldn't have come up in the first place but they're afraid. A sinner is running when nobody is chasing him...that's conscientious |
gbadexy:I just modified my post. Just fo back and read. We're in same page bro. |
EyeCumInPiece:Most countries in Africa need a regime reset and Nigeria isn't an exception. Our leaders' excesses are just too much. NA alone is earning more than what 36 states put together are earning. Despite the economic downturn currently plaguing Nigeria, none of them had come out to say they want to cut down on the huge allocations accrued to them and their excesses. You see governors leaving power and retiring at the senate as if there are no competent citizens who can occupy the senate to represent their respective states. A military coup would reset leadership here or better still, a revolution. Even those supporting their evil deeds are feeling the heat. They're only suffering and smiling. I asked my business partner in Niger why their military had to do what they did , citing how their leader was so close to Nigeria and the immediate past administration. He said hed chat me later. He told me the man had committed a lot of atrocities since he was elected president and recently, he ordered the release of an alqaeda terrorist from prison, the move which had received the public condemnation. It won't be a bad thing if military should take over power in Nigeria and re-do things for us, including our useless constitution which favours only the elite. After doing all these, they should arrest all of them and jail them, then restore our democracy by overseeing and conducting a free and fair election, then, return to barracks thereafter. See our conversation below...

Ogamysamo:The emboldened is so on point. I was reading about Tosin Eniolorunda last week. The Engineering graduate of OAU, who founded Moniepoint. He's already on the list of Nigeria's billionaire today. When his course mates would be riding cars to school or chauffer-driven around town, this guy would enter public transport to Ife where he was schooling back then. He came from a very low background but today, moniepoint process over 400 billion Naira transactions monthly. How many commercial banks with their nationwide coverage and thousands of staffers do that today? This gives me the insight into the AI. sooner than later, human efforts would no more count in many areas of human endeavours. It's time people started thinking out of the box to stay afloat. Do not underestimate anyone in Life. Tosin's story really excites me. Kudos to our team and I hope they would not do ojoro to our girls cos they are from Africa as the usually do. I remember the atlanta 96 olympic games. God just wanted to crown us that glory ni. The FIFA's ojoro was so glaring, just to favour either argentina or brazil. Our Tobi Amusan is receiving the heat already. Despite being the most tested athlete by the athletics federation in the world history, they still suspended her for failing to show up for testing on 3 occasions . I pray she wins a the tribunal as the world athletics championship draws nearer. I wish the falcons well |
ManirBK:Civilian dey command military to leave power? No be juju be dat? |
triple996:Ncos there's nothing tonsteal again. The era of awoof was when he was the fct minister wey everybody eye never open. There's even nothing to steal again. |
LinkTank:keep checking bro. I knew Nigerians would flood the place on hearing that news. The rush would not last long. Summer ends around August ending and everyone can rest |
LinkTank:I observed that too earlier today when i checked for someone. I guess Nigerians had thronged Benin to buy tickets, after the news, causing foreign airlines there to quickly adjust their rates. Every organisation wants to make profit, of course, only that Benin citizens who wish to travel, would be badly affected. Rates were so low in the past weeks. |
Racoon:You may be right but there nothing bad in what she did, when she's not an ęlęhaa for goodness sake. She's a sports lady. What if you see her at the beach or at a pool wearing only panties? She'd not even wear that type of pants to compete in an international athletic race. What you'd see would be much smaller, like their inner pant and it's not because they want their bodies to be revealed. It makes them smart and light when ruining. Glad to know she's not busty. She's smart with her inner wear so nothing is revealing. |
gabazin080:I know why you love watching somewhere in Africa. Grow up ![]() |

I've heard of his case years back. The fraud case of his aide who's now eating beans in America over defrauding the USA government was the last straw that broke his camel's back. Anytime I talk ill of Tinubu, I always come under attack in NL same as others who do same. It's high time we began background checks on those supporting this man, their family history too. Who knows, they might be doing what Tinubu is doing. No sensible human being wouid take sides with this man. He was the one who brought dapo abiodun. |
kpompey:If any youth candidate emerges from the youth party, the old factors will still play out...tribalism and religous bigotry. If he's a Christian, the north and religiously blind south would kick and prefer to follow the old fools instead, same would happen if he's a Muslim. Nigeria's leadership makeup is chop make i chop in nature. No sense of belonging. They'd say, omo ęni ko le shedi bębęrę, ka lo filękę sidii omo elomiran. Which literally means you can't have your relation showing interest in running for a political office and now support someone from another tribe or faith. Nigeria is just a combination of many countries or independent states. Sadly, Awolowo knew this but still went ahead and championed a course for one Nigeria, even at a time one tribe said they weren't ready for independence. Had Awolowo chosen to break yoruba away, we'd have been a favourite of the world by now and ibos too would have followed suit. This makeup makes it difficult for Nigeria to progress. |
001Lagos:Dat one surprise you? What of the akpabio who had cases of corruption in court, which was why he ran to the apc to seek cover, now heading the senate? |
FacilitatorLekk:Go and read the constitution and stop the insult boy. Stop embarrassing yourself over this. Buhari did same in the 80s by instructing the CBN governor of that time Read boy, read! |
FacilitatorLekk:The president had unlimited powers over the CBN and all the executive arms of government. Go and read the Nigerian constitution. No be me write am |
A country where things work. In Nigeria, the boy would have died like that pretty Chrisland Girl. If you go to any sports centre in that country or schools...both private and public, even public places including airports, there are AEDs hung on the walls everywhere, blinking and ready to be used. There was a day one senior servant in the country developed a cardiac arrest at the abuja airport. They watched this man as he bid the world goodbye. They just surrounded him. The ports health had no single AED, none was found in the airport. So sad! I was discussing with a friend in Germany recently about the effect of Russian war on global economy. He said Germany had always prepared ahead of the unexpected. He said they're generating their energy from coal and other means. Here in Nigeria, somebody who was overhyped as Mr developer went and removed subsidy without a palliative in place, just like the adage of putting a cart before a horse. Whereas, Angola, another oil-rich country only reduced the subsidy and before they did, they had already made available necessary palliatives. This is very wrong |
FacilitatorLekk:Kuku say buhari committed serious crimes because emefiele couldn't have succeeded in doing what he did without Buhari's approval. Anyone thinking buhari isn't aware must be a joker. He did same in the 80s when emefiele was probably still in the university, through the cbn governor in office that time. I knew when it happened. People also died while some developed HBP because they were unable to meet the deadline set to deposit their old notes. They ended up burning their naira. The federal government under tinubu doesn't seem to know that, an embarrassment caused emefiele is indirectly on buhari. |
Way to go. Those who obey this man would thank him later in future. He must have gone to China to see how they run their education sector. CAC should just design a package for them such that, the fees would be easily affordable, just the way they always do each time they attend exhibitions and declare company registration almost free. Entrepreneurial development should be taught in every department in our institutions of learning. I know of 2 medical doctors today who never consulted in their entire life. They're big time businessmen today. There's also a paediatrician, a lady who's doing well in fashion. This concept is rare in our clime. Kudos to this man of vision. |
