It's not PNPs and not LMIA, it's that new people with good scores are entering the pool weekly. Also, previously declined ITAs and canceled applications that now re-entered the pool.

PNPs and LMIAs give 600points, which is even higher than the current CRS cut -off score so, it can't be them

But JesusDWay, for anyone who neither studied nor worked in Canada, it is practically impossible for such a person to qualify for the recent draw except the fellow is less than 32 and has a phD. In my opinion, for some of us in this part of the world who do not have any of the above, 481 is the maximum points we can get without a phD. So, we would have to turn to PNP or Jobs with LMIA.

I am at 417 at the moment and intend to write the IELTS exam by December; but, if the CRS remains this high in the next couple of draws, It will be needless to rewrite the test again as ONLY PNP or Job with LMIA would do the magic.

Bro. I think you should defer everything until she is cleared. It seems to me her wellness should be first. EE, FSW, CA immigration etc. will always be there. Even if one advances in age, PNP will be another route. In my opinion, her wellness and other members of the family being around her is more important.
Please, the above are just my views and could well be taken with a pinch of salt.

Unilag replies electronically, usually not longer than 24 hours after the verification documents from WES (sent through regular mail) are received. 012802421 Unilag records office.

I agree....there is truly a form that must be included. I rmbr my sch (in the UK not naija o) had to get back to me to fill the form and send it back to them so that they can include it in my package before sending it to WES.

I cannot argue the fact that your school demanded for the form from you. But that may just be your school's SOP.
I will advise that you review the Documents Submission Checklist on WES website and pay attention to the 'optional' in front of the form in question.

Also don't forget the form that is to be downloaded and sent with the transcript, the school is meant to sign on one part of the form too. A friend of mine sent a sealed copy of his transcript that he had but WES rejected it because he forgot to include the form.

Your friend's case is peculiar - I didn't send the form, yet WES honored my application and evaluated my credentials.
Perhaps WES rejected your friend's application for a different reason.

1) Conduct a pre-evaluation on WES website to ascertain the equivalence of those degrees in Canada. If both are equivalent to BSc and Master's, then evaluate the higher qualification (MSc)
2) It shows that you are yet to complete that section. Complete the section and you will be able to submit, sign and transmit.
3) Your score is automatically generated on your profile once your application is eligible and transmitted.

That is what I think too. I had a similar result.. At least a band score of 8 in three of the modules but a band 6.5 in one module and an overall score of 8.0.
I don't like writing an exam for the same purpose more than once; but, I guess I have to make an exemption with this one. I am waiting for my ECA report. I may write the exam again during my leave IF I don't get a PN before then.

In my opinion, Enquiry on Result is like a waste of time, money and effort. Conduct a thorough search online and you will find that the likelihood of candidates getting a higher score is less than 10%. But then, you can just be part of the <10%. Best of luck!

A lot of people with CRS above 400 have got the invite to apply for Ontario PNP. If your friend applies and get the PNP, he/she will get an additional 600 points which will translate to ITA in the next draw. The only issue with it is that it will cost the person Cad 15500 and [b][/b]there is no guarantee that the person will get the PNP.

As the minimum cut-off so far is 450 and considering the number of people with CRS score between 400-450 from the mid year report by CIC, it might be worth it going for the PNP. However, if the person is ready to wait, who knows, cut-off might go down next year.

What can prevent one from getting the Ontario Immigrants Nomination after one has submitted relevant documents and made necessary payments?

20 workdays other things being equal. Mine has taken longer already because WES sent documents to my school for verification.

Now, this doesn't pertain to the question. WES advise intending clients to choose International Courier (Can$85 +13% tax) option for document delivery. They claim not to be able to guarantee that documents sent through the Canada post (Can$7 +13%) would be delivered. Whereas, WES sends document to institutions using the Canada post.

In my opinion, these guys (the Whites) have put their place in order and now exploit anyone who wants to go there.
How many people have idle Can$12,000.00 in their account for 3months over there? But, if you want to go there, they will insist that you fulfill such or similar conditions.

I think Quebec condition for offering Immigrants Selection Certificates is more humane though. Can$3,016 for a single person and additional Can$1,400 for each adult coming along.

The site was being updated between Friday, 18th and Monday 21st September, 2015. Then, before the update and now, the site is usually down in the early hours of the day (Nigerian time); but, it opens as from 10:20am GMT +1. So, you can check the status of your application with them now.

Like somebody posted earlier, both can still be valid IF none is older than two years.
But then, an overall score of 7 can produce a better CRS score than an overall score of 7.5. It has a lot to do with the distribution of your scores across the modules.
So, do you mind letting us in on the distribution of your scores in each test?

The truth is they are not obligated to meet their target, moreso you dont know the number of people who have followed non single applicants. That said, I understand the cic logic they would not compromise the quality of migrants that come in esp in their economic turmoil. Their body language shows that the score will not go below 450 cos 1. It will be unfair those who spent time and money to get above that score to obtain ITA, 2. Its a wrong precedence, fishes in the pool will not improve their quality and this will give them false hope that the score will eventually get as low as they wish. 3. It becomes a lottery.
The Canadian immigration process is very reasonable and logical, it has evolved over the years, they understood key reason why migrants have failed, hence they laid emphasis on great english and your money.

I have a question, are ielts sat here marked in nigeria or they are sent to the UK?

In my opinion, anyone who scores 400/496 hasn't done badly. Let's face it, if you have never been to Canada to study or work and doesn't have a provincial nomination or prearranged employment, I think you will have a maximum score of 496 or slightly more. That's with a phD.
What percentage is that? That's over 80%. Some have also said maximum score possible without Canadian links is 520, but even at that, the percentage would be greater than 76%. That isn't bad.

I feel the entire process is skewed - my opinion though.

Meanwhile, have you noticed the trend of people's scores in the IELTS? Get at least band 7 in three of the modules and have your band score reduced by 0.5 in one of the modules. That way, you lose at least 56 points. 496-56=? It will always be less than 450. So: immigrants influx is checked; more and more people repeat the test; Newbies who are yet to write apply to write; people who feel they should score more ask for evaluation - but pay for it; then, one out of say 20 gets his marks changed. That way, people will still believe that the process isn't biased and, will pump in more money into writing the exam.

Lastly, what do you make of a CRS of 800points? That means the person had just 200points outside one of a provincial nomination or a job offer.

Now, I am not a pessimist; just stating what i feel is obvious.

I read that IELTS exams are marked at the centres where they are written.
