Thanks for the help.

Any tips for improving reading skills?
I'd suggest you chat more in French especially with more advanced persons who can easily employ certain level of linguistic variations (i.e. multiple ways of saying the same thing). If you like novels like myself, pick up one and read at your leisure time. Read French articles online and try to use any new word or expression learned (that's the only way to retain). It may seem as if the progress is slow or as if you're forgetting the new words almost as fast as you're learning them but the truth is, you'd remember the meaning of the words when you see them in the context other surrounding words and that might just be what you need to get what a sentence is all about. In the exam, the passages get tougher as you proceed (this largely depends on your level). Solve the simpler ones first, then ensure you, at least, get the overall message of the ones you find extremely tough. Sometimes, that's sufficient to answer the questions. In the case that you still don't know the answer to a question, apply the elimination method and move on.

Most importantly, read past questions. Asides the fact that they're repeated, they also get you accustomed to the nature of the exam.

Hehehe... see where they all came to hide. grin

Hello everyone, my name is etrange and I'm a permanent resident of Canada.

I'm having a hard time choosing a city to reside in. I've got Montreal, Toronto and Calgary as my top choices. They say Montreal is good but too cold, Toronto is good but too expensive and Calgary is good but the economy is ailing thus the reduction in job opportunities. Me, I have PPR but confused.

Please the rivalry of wizkid and davido musically is The biggest of this generation as far as African music is concerned. Don't compare these rats to Giants abeg. If you don't have work go and pick condemn iron instead of posting trash
Oga, it's not a fight. Nobody is saying they are not giants or that their rivalry is the same as that of these upcoming guys. The OP is already forecasting where this duo is headed and he has a point. There was no wizkid and Davido some years ago, there will be others after them. That's life.

For those interested, we can still do our once a week essay proofreading like before. If time permits, Skype conversations during the weekends would also be great. It mustn't necessarily be with me this time, just find a partner or a group, agree on time and meet online at the agreed time. Discuss social, cultural, academic, business, religious, political, and other issues around us. And of course, practice some TEF questions.

Like I say to those who contact me privately, go fully French using brute force. Chat more in French, make friends with French speaking peeps, join groups from francophone countries online, watch French programs on TV and subscribe to French channels on YouTube. You can change your device language to French and listen more to French music (Celine Dion is awesome, lol). Then get virtual immersion apps like Hello app. This will surround you with francophones who can hardly speak English.

The whole idea is to turn French. Remember, regardless of the outcome of TEF, the knowledge of French is still an invaluable skill. So it's always a win win situation.

Good morning all and bon courage.

Anyone motivated to use the TEF Canada exam as a means to boost your points, please follow the following 3 resources and you should hopefully get a minimum of B2 in both Reading and Listening.

1. Join the Whatsapp Chat:
https:///invite/GCqXOD8MOmIDHb3IGSbdBT

2. Download the necessary resources:
https://teftextelongs.home.blog/?fbclid=IwAR2q2kmpxmxJ85LIIywC3Dmw15BiZ0QtcImpusZw90a4hVFBOvApnRHpzK8

3. Join the Facebook page:
Comment se préparer au TEF Canada

The Comprehension Ecrite questions are weighted differently. In order to stand a good chance of getting at least more than 216 over 300 you need to smash the long text questions (they weigh the most).

All the best.

There are 85 long text questions and answers in the link 2. above. Some of the questions do get repeated and so if you master the 85, you stand a great chance (plus you improve your vocabs and you learn French in the process).
Nice one bro...

If it were a woman that wrote this now, we would start calling her names and endless pit.

It's always about understanding the man. One would think a lady's sole goal in life is to understand and please men. You think women don't have fantasies too?

It's all about communication, bro.

Please what materials did you use for the TEF exam?
Same materials shared on the TEF thread. The speaking part was very much formulaic.

@luqxxee, I'm unpleasantly surprised that you would be sharing such a bigoted comment given your stance as an atheist. You disagree with religion and religious bigots but have no issues segregating along ethical lines. Either you are not open minded enough or have consciously refused to see beyond all forms of socio-cultural divisions. So much for someone who nurtures the idea of moving to a more liberal society.

Kindly unfollow my id as I do same to yours.

Cheers! smiley

The chauvinism in this country is mind blowing! Nobody even made mention of the man here. Was she doing it alone? The act is bad, condemn the two and stop this one sidedness!
