Yes sir, I get you quite clearly... But, you are mistaken to think I was indulging in body-shaming.

The same way I am not privy to her lifestyle, is the same way you are equally not... So, we can only both speculate or make assumptions with regards to her efforts at fitness.

I equally write from the point of authority and experience... The individuals who have tried the methods/approaches I outlined with minimal to no outcomes are probably with metabolic disorders which would require therapeutic assistance, and they are few and far between... Either way, obesity is extremely unhealthy, and more often than not ends badly for the heart and circulatory system... This is not body-shaming, but a professional perspective.

In all, you are right that it is her life, her struggle... If she ever confided in me, I would tell her what I tell a lot of my patients having a B.M.I (Body Mass Index) over 30 (Hers can't be less than 35)... She should make more effort to keep the weight down.

Angelfrost:
A strict low carb diet, with lots of fluids interspersed with moderate fruit and veggie fast, will knock off a quarter of that weight in just 2 months... It all comes down to discipline and determination.
Bro, this is so easy for you to say cause you are not in her situation. Virtually every guy down the street wants six packs, how many have got any? Yet, all it takes is discipline.

I'm probably the leanest person out there and most people feel I don't eat. They preach to me how I should be eating and stuff. But guess what, I don't miss a meal. And over eating doesn't sit well with my digestive system. I was almost pushed into becoming a gluttony until I decided to ignore them and maintain what I consider a good diet.

Point here is, you don't know what she's going through. You don't know what she has done or not done. You don't know what she eats. You don't know her parents. Nothing. You can't really sit back and insinuate she lacks discipline cause you're not in her shoes. Everybody is different.

I'm sure she knows about obesity. I'm sure she has friends and family she talks to. That she says people's comments don't get to her doesn't mean she's not doing what is right for herself. Shaming her will not do the trick. If anything, she'll be depressed and that is much more than obesity.

You get?

Crime › Re: Let's Profile The Serial Killer On The Loose In Port Harcourt. by etrange: 4:46pm On Sep 16, 2019
Xbee007:
Psychologist in the house, provide a psychological profile of the serial killer in PH City.

Disclaimer: This profile is based on the observation of the killer's modus operandi and is by no means 100% accurate.
Can I say something?

Every line of a psychological profile should have the target as the primary focus. That is, the target should be the active entity in the statement. Note that this rule must be upheld regardless of the linguistic structure of the statement (whether it's a direct or indirect statement). Going by this, the following line ceases to be valid in the above case:

And he will be caught when Nigerian police decide to really pursue this case

Note that the above statement can be rephrased as:

The Nigerian police will catch him when really decide to pursue his case.

Now, notice that this obviously profiles the Nigerian police more than the target. And for one to even accept the profile, one needs to know more about the Nigerian police thus making even more apparent that we've shifted attention.

Sorry I seem to have criticized instead doing the actual profiling, I do not really know about the case.

Hey... we are in trouble in this country. People don't even understand writeups anymore.

OP, he didn't say he didn't delete his account. He actually acknowledged deleting his account. The bone of contention here is why he did so. He's claiming it has nothing to do with his new role but rather a routine task he normally carries out as a way of "decluttering & focusing" (whatever he meant by that).

He then added that he was also glad that he wasn't online when people were calling him out else he might have lost his peace. This is where he mentioned not having data as the reason for his absence online. One would think this is clearly written up there.

Even though I don't believe him, we should, at least, quote him right. His account was clearly deleted and a new one created, he wouldn't be so stupid to attribute that to unavailability of data nah...

Dear Nairaland moderators,

This is the type of topics we would like to see hitting front page as it celebrates, Hardwork, Dedication and Excellence.....

Not topics like;

-"Tacha slams Mercy for wearing N50 OK pants."

-"Toyin Abraham kisses her brand new husband in his ear drum"
Yet I just checked your most active sections and what did I see? Politics, Romance and Celebrities.

Your type wouldn't even be opening NL if the only thing we see on the FP everyday is were education related.

It's a social forum not an education forum, you pick what interests you and move on.

If you knew how much work/talent went into that painting you termed "just for style", you wouldn't be spewing this.

It's possible she's only doing this to call attention to her work and nothing more. As you can see, she's enjoying a free ad on NL courtesy of her strategy. I'm sure some of the people calling her out have seen far more genitals than she'd ever see in her life.
