Does one really need to wait for ECA hard copy before filling the application form? Can't one upload the soft copy sent by WES which is already in pdf? |

Engr2000: Hi Guys,

DECISION TO TRAVEL:
I have always believe in Nigeria and with the mind-set of building a great career/business here, however I made up my mind to travel during December 2017 fuel scarcity after queuing at the Filling station for two days without getting fuel and frustration set in, my initial thought was Australia and after following the thread I realized the process is a bit complicated. I decided to opt for Canada and the process is pretty straightforward as compared to Aussie/US PR, while googling migrating to Canada From Nigeria I came across this thread {God bless everyone that have contributed to the robustness of the info on this thread} and the journey started.
ECA: PA: B.Sc. & ACIIN {Two or More Degrees} Spouse: B.Sc. & PGDE {NTI} - {Two or More Degrees} It was the era of WES and we follow to join the bandwagon later we realize we could have opt for ICES which do not require verification from school. My transcript was sent from my school twice because the first one was rejected by WES as incomplete, I need to get back to the Registrar office to resend at another cost. I had fears on my ACIIN when ACA is not receiving favourable response from WES, however my ACIIN came out as 3 Years Canadian equivalent degree in Insurance. The journey started with 100k in my account with first financial commitment on January 2nd by paying WES evaluation fee which was completed by June 2018 (Courtesy of NASU Strike--- More reason to leave Naija)
IELTS: Preparation for IELTS Commenced January, my fear have always been writing, lo & behold, BC fall my hand with 6.5 in writing 1st Attempt: BC (03/03/2018) LRWS - 8.5, 7.5, 6.5, 8 At this point I was very broke, my friend have to raise me 80k to register for MOD and also pay for the remark at BC. 2nd Attempt: MOD (07/04/2018) LRWS - 7.5, 7.5, 6, 6.5 {This result even worse pass the first attempt} Remark for 1st attempt was received from BC after 14 weeks with writing unchanged (Apparently if I had known I would have also tick speaking at least I would get my 15k ) 3rd & Final Attempt: MOD (07/07/2018) LRWS - 8,9,7,7 For the IELTS hopefuls, just keep trying and don't give up... Our eyes should be on the GOAL. Spouse did twice and got average of 7.0
CRS & ITA Profile created July 23, 2018 with CRS 441, ITA received August 8--- This was actually timely because my birthday is in September which means my point would have drop to 436 and there would be no other option than PNP or learn French.
POST ITA:
MEDICALS: Medicals was pretty straightforward at Children practice, similar to what I have been witnessing in Pre-Employment medicals. Spouse got a mail two days after for another Urine test which was carried out after one week with a fee of about 3k.
DIGITAL PHOTO: Just go to Studio 24 at Allen, They already know what you need for PR. N1,500 (4 Copies) paid each for Hard Copy & Soft Copy.
EMPLOYMENT RECORD/PROOF OF WORK EXPERIENCE: I submitted only two pages Reference Letter from HR {No Pay slip, No Offer Letter, No ID Card}
PROOF OF EDUCATION/STUDIES: Page 1 & 2- WES Report Page 3- IELTS Result Page 4 – University Degree Certificate Page 5- Professional Qualification Certificate
MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE: I submitted the one I receive from Church {I have not been to Registry before}
POLICE CERIFICATE: I got across to Inspector Moshood {I hear say na ASP now } at Alagbon via the contact provided on this wonderful thread and we paid 7k for two.
PROOF OF FUND- POF: I submitted two Generic Bank Reference letters {No Statement of Account}. One from a Tier 1 bank and the other is a Microfinance Bank.
LEGAL NAME CHANGE FOR SPOUSE: Page 1: Change of name Affidavit Page 2: Newspaper Publication for change of name
POST – AOR:
AOR- September 8th Medicals & Biometrics flow in as usual as others with similar timeline. November 9 was the first PPR Rain for September AOR by then I realize I am due for PPR. So out of Curiosity, I mailed Ralph on the 15th November and I got the response below:
Dear Engr2000, I spoke to IRCC regarding your application received Sept 13, 2018. It is at the Case Processing Center in Ottawa. Standard processing time is 6 months. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% take longer. Criminality passed Oct 11, 2018. *Eligibility and security have not been initiated*. They cannot be expedited and timelines are not available. Medicals are valid until Aug 14, 2019. Sincerely, Ms. Robyn Sullivan Office of the Hon. Ralph Goodale, MP Regina-Wascana"
Did I get discouraged? Yes! (I am Human) Did I give up? No (My eyes was still on getting PPR before Christmas) Two weeks down the line, I got RPRF request on November 28th and a week later I got PPR {December 7th, 2018}… I cried, apparently I have never applied for Visa before whether Visiting Visa, Tourist Visa or Student Visa and here I am with PR just like that.
Moral of the Story: whatsoever *is not initiated* can be completed in a space of 1 week. So guys hang in there, I look forward to seeing more PPR rain on this thread before the end of January 2019.
COPR Landed today and it has ended in Praise.
This have been my Song Inspiration all though the application:

Influential101: I don't think anybody can answer this. You know your application better, just put yourself in VOs shoes.. any amount you feel might raise eyebrow (especially if it's bigger than the normal credits gotten over 6 months), just explain in your LOE or provide gift deed if it was gifted.
Just ask yourself, if I were the person reviewing this application, would I need additional information to understand this transaction?
I wish you the best. Thanks sir |

ottawasenators: That should be dependent on your income if you ask me.
For example, someone earning 100k and voom!!! 500k credit reflects on that account. That should require an LOE Thanks. I am grateful. |

fatiah: Greetings Fam, now that I've gotten a more acceptable PPR letter, here is my PPR STORY and Time line as promised. It's a long one, I hope I get a good score @Ralph cos e no easy, Lol! MY PPR STORY Decision to migrate was made exactly a year ago after my brother, a PR holder and I had a discussion on the way forward regarding a better future. Thankfully hubby also agreed even though he had his reservations about the whole journey I ultimately had to be the primary applicants because of age and being more invested in the journey than my spouse. IELTS (1st February 2018) First attempt - 8.5, 8, 7, 7 LWRS So, I travelled down to Lagos for my ielts in January. Stayed at my folks place. I practiced more of the writing then a bit of the listening. I didn't practice speaking much cos my brother had assured me there's no big deal as long as I speak fluently and don't make grammatical errors. In hindsight, I would have done better in speaking if I had practiced especially knowing that I've never really been the verbally expressive type, particularly in a formal setting. As for writing, let me just say I was lucky cos even with my practice, after I was through with the exam I realised I didn't my opinion with specific examples and I even used the infamous "This essay would discuss.." phrase. Though, I know I may have done better in task achievement and also tried to make as little errors as planned but nevertheless, I was so worried that I would get 6.5. I had even continued practicing before the result was out but thankfully I got just what I required. ECA My ECA - March 2018 Spouse's ECA - May 2018 Not much to tell here. It was a smooth process thanks to MCC and my school. POF 100% Gift deed from my Dad for Family of 3. Just added my last 6 months statement of my savings account highlighting the transfers along with my dad's SOA and a LOE PCC This was also straight forward. Didn't use inspector moshood at the time. Though I probably should have cos I was charged 13k for hubby and I ITA - 23rd May 2018 CRS Score was 443. Claimed sibling point. Work Experience : I claimed just 1 year experience cos I had only 2 year post graduation work experience at the time and thankfully 2 years and one year had the same points. Work reference letter was from my employer during internship/ housejob AOR - 19th June 2018 It is worthy of note that even though I tried my best to be involved in this process since it's obviously my life and that of my family, my brother is the one who practically processed and paid for my application. In fact I had successful applied for TRV courtesy of my brother about 2 years ago in order to birth my baby in Canada. Unfortunately, the application was approved after I had already put to bed. I can actually relate with @dumprep story when it comes to having a brother who is always looking out for you in the best possible way. I truly am blessed to have such a brother . I remember after submission, I checked my mail several times a day and my profile daily. MEP / IP1 - 4th July 2018 After IP1 there was a long silence. After, the first few weeks I had to reduce the rate at which I checked my account and concentrate on other things for sanity sake. IP2 - 24th October When I finally got to IP2 I was really hopeful PPR Will come in few weeks time but CIC had other plans. I subsequently got my Ghost update 6th of November but no PPR. I started to get really anxious towards the end of November when there was still no PPR. Post-approval Pre-PPR phase : Now, as you can see my journey had been somewhat smooth so far. This phase was where things started to get a bit more interesting. I stumbled on Canadavisa forum for June AOR Applicants and saw that it wasn't an isolated case. Hmm, it wasn't easy seeing those whose AOR and IP2 were after mine getting PPR Mail in no time. Raised CSE around 5months post AOR found out file was at CIO, Sydney. Mid December, mailed CIO, CPC ottawa, raised another CSE and found out final decision has been made already still no PPR. Then a trend was noticed , people who had their file approved but awaiting PPR were subsequently being issued PPR within few days after mailing NDVO but these were majorly Indian applicant. So few of us Nigerian applicant tried mailing Accra VO, no response. Then a fellow Nigerian who was inland applicant mailed NDVO and got a favourable response that his application is in queue for landing interview. Hmm, that was how I also mailed NDVO on 24th of December. First PPR mail - 31st December 2018 Lo and behold, got a PPR mail from NDVO asking me to submit passport in India ! Since I had seen recent similar cases of people who requested for change in VO for Passport submisison and subsequently got a new PPR Letter from Ottawa, I immediately sent a mail requesting for the same. When I told my brother, he was saying there was no need, Second PPR mail - 4th January 2019 The mail came in at 12:08am from cpc Ottawa but saw it when I checked my mail around 7:30am this morning. Funny thing, I remember that I'd stayed up till 11pm thinking of how I can send my documents to VFS India / Nepal. I was so relieved and elated to see it. Even hubby's disposition has changed.
Alhamdulillah! I give all praises to God for making this decision to be actualised. I realise it isn't by my power but by His mercy. I can't stop thanking Him for his favours upon me, especially in regards to my family. I'm also glad for the initiative to do my own research which caused me to stumble in this thread and that if canadavisa forum. I probably would have still been waiting for my PPR Mail. I seek for His continuous favour and mercy as I embark on this new phase of life. May our aspirations be met and may we all find favour in Canny Land. I am the first to say congrats!!! |

ottawasenators: Since you mentioned its a significant amount, then it will be nice to explain it.
I'm sure that''s easy to do? Yeay, bro. Like I said, it is a performance bonus and the transaction detail mentions the name of my company as the source. The amount is not the same annually. It depends both on our level and the profit for the year. Since it is not pre-determined, it is not counted as part of annual salary. |

Good Morning Fam,
A quick one, please.
My coy paid a special performance bonus last month. This is quite a lump sum and has made a huge impact on the account I am using for POF. Do I need to add a LOE for this?
Thanks in advance. |

Dreew: You think you can judge but remove the log in your eyes first cos I see the abnormalities of your comment too.
You said I was abusive towards tojud but somehow you failed to see the slight in Ify's comment, "Better pause that muah.."
My point really is, the other lady's advice doesn't have to work for me before I show appreciation towards her. I guess this is painful for some to fully grasp, hence the response I got. For what would it take from Ify to just say...
"The case she's talking about is the only one of its kind we've read about and it follows a long and tortuous process that included an application rejection and appeal.
Read from the link below and decide whether that's a path you want to choose
https://www.nairaland.com/4657743/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/504#72546501 "
Nothing. But she did things her way and I did things my way, yet you all see it fit to complain. To each his own though.
Just know that going forward, I won't respond to any hypocritical opinion again. Brotherly, I don't really think there is a reason to be upset. The expression "Better pause that muah.." by Ify is anything but slighting. That's typically what a friend would say. We don't have to be all uptight. I think the most important thing is the intention behind the comment. She could have just passed but no, she stopped to help. The anger in your response, in my opinion, was uncalled for. I could be wrong nevertheless. |

When NL sends someone a mail that "Bleep would like to send you an email message", Is there a way the person who is trying to PM you can access your email address? Homguy: It's no bother at all. This is my personal opinion tho. If you are pulling all your funds from different accounts into your POF account, you would at least have to prove you have had those funds for at least 6 months before transfer using maybe account statements from those banks showing the periods funds entered each account. Accompanied with a LOE to explain.
I would however advise you just do a gift deed and print only a recent statement for your POF account showing the money in your account, accompanied with your bank's reference letter. I just think it's simpler that way. Thanks a lot. I'll consider my options. Really appreciate. |
|
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 6 by etrange: 12:55pm On Jan 02, 2019 |
Homguy: if you are using a gift deed, you don't need a six month's balance. You can print the current month's statement. Otherwise; I think you can calculate it your self by adding up your account balance at the end of each month for the six months and dividing it by 6 to give an average balance for Six months.I am not 100% sure but I think that's how it should be calculated. Ok, I'm not using a gift deed. Guess I'll just calculate it as you've described. Then convert to CAD using the current day's exchange rate from the Internet. Sorry I have to bother you this much but I have another question you might be able to help me with. I have quite a number of bank accounts. I intend to pull resources together from these banks for the POF. Now, instead requesting for the letter from all these banks, I am thinking of first transferring the money to just two of the banks (preferably Stanbic and GT) and then getting the letter from these two alone. Do tell, will this cause any problem? Will the transfer be considered suspicious? NB: All the banks accounts bear the same name, my full name. Thanks again |

Homguy: Etrange : I don't know about other banks, but Zenith bank asked us to provide a draft for our reference letter, wherein we stated the amount in our account and the Canadian equivalent as at that date. And it was a breeze getting it. Took about 24hrs though due to some issues with my wife's account. This is just to support Ifeoma's post. Thanks a lot sir. I suppose you got the exchange rate online for the CAD equivalent, right? Also, did you calculate the average balance for the past since months yourself? |

Ifeoma77: If your bank is one of the reasonable ones that tweak the reference letter to incorporate the balance, then that's good. Try to discuss it with your account officer. But if the bank insists on using their generic reference/introduction letter, then consider adding statement of account. It must not be six months. Thanks. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 6 by etrange: 10:13am On Jan 02, 2019 |
kriyobt: No, you should print statement of account for 6 months to support.
It has been stated here that you can get the POF in CIC format from your account officer (you can try that). However, the above documents should suffice. Thanks. This means I will have two get the account statement on a month-by-month basis in order to reflect the monthly balance which will help CIC determine the avereg balance for the entire period, right? |
