raddyworld:I was only curious, sorry. |
illicit:Isn't it funny you're trying to defend your pathetic comment. While you reserve the right to criticize any politician of your choice, you should also get your priorities right at every point in time. What exactly is the point of completely ignoring his message to attack his personality in this situation? You aimed to shut him down and by that singular action, you've made it clear it is more important to you to criticize him than to seek justice for the poor lady. Like I said, get your priorities right. |
What are they eating? Ukwa? |
Tasteless. |
For starters, I'd ask why didn't you think of this before deciding to overstay? Ok, let's assume you were just "hustling" to survive then like most Nigerians do. Why didn't you think of this before deciding to exit using NIMC slip? You're asking for advice now that you've overplayed yourself but when you were being "smart", it didn't occur to you to create a thread asking for advice. Having said that, I think you've got two options now: Option 1) You either go back using any means but your passport, and then figure out a way to return using your passport -This way, you'd have return details... Option 2) Or just get a new passport (losing your travel history). You're even lucky African countries don't share immigration data with the western world (not sure if immigration data are even stored in digital format in Africa). Sorry if that wasn't the kind of advice you were expecting. |
Lol... nothing irks more than a lengthy write-up full of complaints and no solution or even suggestion. OP, I reading to know what you're doing differently. But then, it's the normal old story of Nigerian blaming everyone else but themselves. |
Because it's a gathering of Nigerians? |
The person above is an idiot. Only someone from the gutter would refer to his mother like that. Isn't this so intellectually low of NL men to capitalise on the gender whenever a woman is the culprit but totally forget gender to concentrate on other division lines (race, tribe, religion, etc.) when the numerous news of men committing all sorts of crime appear on the front page? Why not call out the individual? Meanwhile, the lady is a threat to society. She should be locked up asap. |
The person above made very practical suggestions but he was also quick to blame the victim (probably for good reasons). But the truth is, whether she's a runs girl or whatever does not justify her getting kidnapped or killed. She has loved ones and everyone deserves justice. Those who waive her story aside should not be surprised when the beast they are raising comes to their own doorstep. None of us is a paragon of morality. |
Africans are just ... I don't know. |
Those asking "must they bring everything...", it is her account and she has the right to use it to share moments that she considers priceless or memories she'd like to keep forever. This gave her joy and she shared it. She never forced anyone to go view it or bring it to Nairaland. If you do not like this moment of joy, keep moving. You mustn't comment. This a more authentic content than those ones you consider better suited for social media. |
There's nothing to keep reading, find something worthwhile to write about. |
The person above doesn't care but he just had to comment, Nairalanders. OP, the brother is better loved from a distance. |
He thought it was Nigeria where we men get away with anything. Haha... |
It's obviously created for fun... |
YorubaLord:Haha... anybody rich is your oppressor. |
falcon01:He doesn't even have free internet himself. |
mutter:No offence intended but I have a strong impression you didn't understand the words/expressions I used. I never accused her of thinking she's better. I will break this down. Here is my first post: Beautiful people up there. It was a message to the OP who praised the lady by making reference to the fact that she did it like our mothers. I was telling him though it's beautiful, it's simply the lady's choice and it does not necessarily make her any better than those who use baby carriers. How you got to the conclusion that I was accusing the lady of claiming to be better is beyond me. Here is the definition of crude: "constructed in a rudimentary or makeshift way." Going by this definition, tying your baby with a wrapper is crude cause it's rudimentary (that is, it does not involve complex principles or mechanics). I might as well said "the old way". It's what the word is meant for. You called me out by saying we shouldn't look down on our ways. And I said no, that is not our culture. I specifically said it's okay if it's easier for you but it's not upholding any culture and it doesn't make anyone better cause it's primarily a matter of convenience. I don't know why you're telling me how using wrapper is easier for you when I've said over and over again that it's fine if it's more convenient for provided you don't go thinking you're better than those who prefer to do it the other way. I only mentioned back carrier cause you specifically said "front". However, back or front carrier, painful or not, etc. are left to the person to consider and go with whichever one they prefer. That's my point. |
Dickson178:You are an extremely wicked person. |
mutter:Like I said, it's a choice. There are back carriers too but if you prefer to tie the baby like our mothers did, fine. The important thing is that you do the one convenient for you without thinking you're any better than those who prefer it the other way. |
Muyiwaipere:Well, virtually everything around you is made in China; possibly, your phone too. |
Men, it's time to really start asking ourselves questions. It's time to start holding one another accountable. It's time to stop pretending we are superior beings who should get away with anything. We must focus on Nigerian men the way people focus on Nigerian ladies, what they, how they do, etc. |
mutter:It was your choice. That doesn't mean it's not crude cause we now have things that make it easier. You can do that if it's easier for you, of cause. But no, it's not our tradition. It's what we were doing cause there was no other way. So anyone who still does that today despite having the means to make things easier for herself isn't upholding any tradition and she's definitely not better than those who prefer modern day carriers. Our fathers also walked very long distances to go to school/farm, would you do that today and call it our way? No, cause there are better options. Let's not take pride in suffering. |
valETA1:So it can't have other symptoms? |
Not to scare you but that's a symptom of Covid-19. You'd be probably be fine after a few days. But I'd suggest medical test. |
Dalil8:There's always a first, sir. A black man is winning it for the first time after all these years and they're already disturbing people (using your words), yet whites who have been winning are not complaining. Before this "man" won it, both men and women have been winning. I don't even know why Nigerians like division and power struggle. You're already divided along tribal, religious and regional lines, and now it's gender. It's as if everyone is fighting everyone in that country. Other countries are busy empowering thier women but you guys will go to any length to keep them subdued for the fear that you'd lose your gender superiority. |
Daveambition:Whatever their reason is should be thier business. Provided they aren't scamming people, I see no reason to attack them. Africans should learn to let people live thier lives. |
PissfulProtester:Lol.. this one is not backing, this one is siding. |
Beautiful people up there. Meanwhile, our mothers did it cause they didn't have alternatives. No need to take pride in doing things the crude way. It's her choice but she isn't any better than those who use carriers. |
It's called recycling! |
pozehnani:Are you minding the OP? The title says one thing and the body, a different thing. |
Obumnemeuzua:Funny cause I live in North America myself and I was just about to make the payment here when he called to tell me it's been approved. Thanks! |
