I hope they sue the school for this. No one should be forced to attend any religious function. It doesn't matter what the student agreed to when entering the school. It's against the constitution. 3 Likes |

The mega-theives rake in billions in tithes annually and these brainless f00ls keep on giving. We are headed for inevitable doom and religion has played the most important role in making Nigeria a failed state. 3 Likes |

So many fictional villains wey these pentecostal pastors don create... especially those enemies. Cracking stuff!! The pastor's gambit: creating enemies where there's none to keep the cash flowing. The maga will be battling with "foundational enemies" while the pastor go dey cruise an Otobo-esque babe in his private jet. Keep up the folly. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Foolish people doing Yoruba vs Igbo ivy league school acceptance rate for some kids whose future don dey guaranteed, while our kids don't have access to good schools. The French revolution would be child's play if I had my way. This post got me really angry! How can people be so fucking greedy I don't understand how these old useless bastards ruling us can't see that building a strong nation with basic amenities readily available is extremely important for the survival of their future generation. I also don't understand why the younger generation respect these old fvckers. They're just greedy, ignorant people who lack foresight. A 10 year old kid makes better decisions than most of these child marrying, ethnic and religiously bigoted old fvckers. Also, since many people understand how they operate, why can't these people (OP included) gather evidence and charge these old useless thieving bastards to court? 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Reverend Father Escapes Death In A Terrible Accident Along Nneobi/Onitsha Road(p by Exciton(m): 2:31pm On Apr 06, 2017 |
Naija Christians apparently have a hard time telling the difference between a miracle and luck. Here is a quick guide: Miracle: when the impossible event occurs. E.g. woman gives birth to chickens. Luck: when an unlikely event occurs. E.g. Trailer's load crashed into car in a manner that it has insufficient momentum to crush the driver's corner. 3 Likes |

God should consider this means to save those starving in the Northeast, Somalia etc. The super-cockroach survives without oxygen and also survives the acidic digestive juices. As our dear super-cockroach is fully sentient, it decides that it's having fun and won't leave through the rectum. It bypasses the kilometers long small+large intestines and felt at home in the womb. Powerful TB then decides it's eviction time for super-C. After rounds of skabbashing, Super-C left the womb, not via the vagina, but re-entered the stomach and made its grand unveiling in a bowl of spit... no other stomach contents. slurryeye: Smart response. At least one person could see through the BS specious argument that some of these EXTREMELY dishonest Christians employ to convince the gullible and proliferate their hatred for those who speak against their precious pastors. The entire argument rests on the premise that the Cybercrime/stalking Act is a just and fair law. But everyone knows it's nothing but a tool by the elite to keep the media and people in check. A tool that turns a civil suit into a criminal case, giving them the power to make arrests and imprison people before conviction. And we all know how long it takes to make a judgement in Naija (the judge has already been unavailable once in this case), not to talk of getting a fair trial when one is up against the rich and powerful. In truth, the people in support of the pastor aren't interested in justice but in seeing that the woman suffers for saying crap about their precious pastor. It's why they would re-tweet hashtags to free some journalist who is a victim of the cyberstalking act but behave differently in Kemi's case. There's nothing wrong with the pastor filing a case against her. But, in a sane society, it would be a civil suit and she would be given a fair trial. Soon, we'll also have anti-blasphemy laws disguised as cyber-bullshit act. 3 Likes 1 Share |

cococandy: Only sensible comment on this thread. Too many illiterates in this country. Not only do they make conclusions before an autopsy (which in turn promotes widespread belief in baseless supernatural crap), they consciously and unconsciously legitimize the actions of fraudsters, murderers, rapists etc. The victim is always at fault and death is a worthy punishment. BankeSmalls: That's very correct. The concept of morality is relative. And the honest fact is that there's a wide gap between that of the North and the south primarily due to religious differences. However, integration is still possible but it will take a very long time compared to Southern integration only and Northern integration only. That's why I recommended Nigeria breaking in two at most. 2 Likes |

BankeSmalls: Imagine we had a functioning country that's always building new infrastructure, creating new stuff, projects here and there, good security etc. People will migrate around the country to seek new jobs or challenges. People of different tribes will work together on projects to achieve a common goal. Some will fall in love with each other, marry and have kids. Some will decide to settle down in the area that they work etc etc. This is how integration happens. Same is currently happening but on a very slow scale due to poor development, insecurity and poor education. Nothing is forceful here. The only reason cultural and religious identity is a big issue in this country is because of the problems stated. 2 Likes |

BankeSmalls: Of course no one will want to adapt disgusting practices into one's group of habits. By the way, why will a group of visionary leaders embarking on such a project pick a set of babaric, repugnant and disgusting practices as their model hybrid culture?? Simple concepts like honesty, hard-work, empathy, skepticism, being industrious etc are the kind of things that will be the common cultural identity. |

Politics / Re: We Are Not Part Of Oduduwa Republic - Ijaws Reply Adebanjo. by Exciton(m): 12:14pm On Mar 19, 2017 |
BankeSmalls: I never implied that it would be an instantaneous or discontinuous process. The key fact that you need to understand is that: Culture is dynamic, not static. Cultural identity is like fashion, it changes but on a much more slower time scale. Most of these different tribes screaming at each other on Nairaland share common ancestors as evidenced by language groups, they delineated a long time ago via environmental and social factors. Similarly, history shows that several distinct group of people have combined into a single group (e.g the on-going fusion of Hausa and Fulani tribes) triggered by same factors. When you start looking at things in the long run, like on the time scale of 100 years and above, you'll get my point. |

BankeSmalls: Hehehe. It's exactly how our ancestors must have felt when the missionaries introduced Christianity to them. That's not what I want. I want an Ijaw or Yoruba or whatever tribal pure blood to exist only in the history books! I want each Nigerian to have like 3 different tribal ancestries so that tribes no longer matter! 2 Likes |

Fremancipation: That's exactly why I said common laws for all. Of course, our leaders are pretending that all is well and aren't doing anything because they only care about their immediate future. It's a common trait of unenlightened people. Otherwise, they'd already be doing the things I said. 1 Like |

Nigerians are foolish people. Still arguing in 2017 about whose tiny little inconsequential tribe is better. Religion and our various cultures distracts us from the real issues. It's funny that some people think that breaking the nation into tiny little tribes will lead to success. Ethnic and religious issues will continue, but the difference is that each tiny little country will have it's own military inevitably leading to frequent small-scale wars. We'll all be back to pre-colonial era... constant inter-tribal war, no long-term peace, no political and economic stability; therefore, no growth and success! There's a simpler way out. Dismantle the stranglehold of religion and create a new cultural identity. Culture is dynamic, not static. It has been done many times in history especially to nations on the losing end of a war. Every little aspect of culture can be consciously modified, even up to the type of food a group of people consume. Intermarriages, migrations via economic development of new areas, common law for all, prioritizing scientific education etc. Huge changes in behavior will emerge within 2-3 generations. At best, the nation breaks in two because the northerners don't seem like people who will ever be willing to shed their culture+religion and fully integrate. These things can be done but we have old useless leaders with zero foresight. 3 Likes |

Psoul: There are so many of your kind in Naija - can speak English but are complete functional illiterates with no critical thinking skill. In fact, I think most "educated" Nigerians are like this. Obviously, you neither know the law nor your rights. If you did, you'd know those ADULTS at the university were physically assaulted and it's against the law. You'd know that the school's rules (whether the students signed up for it or not) hold no water compared to the laws of FRN. Now, go home and refund your parents. You failed to learn at school. Same goes to banning phones, jeans, unionism, forceful attendance of church functions, etc in universities. A university is meant to be a place to learn to think original ideas, to be creative, to challenge current worldviews etc. Not a place where you should be forced to behave according to our useless archaic social norms or some religious moral standard; thereby, killing individualism and creativity. 2 Likes |
