Nairaland General › Re: We Need Our National ID Cards by extremelygolden: 12:00pm On Jun 11, 2020 |
Adejoncy01: I saw a news earlier which the director of NIMC was saying less than 100 million Nigerians have any means of identity.
Now, my issue is, have they issued ID cards to the ones who have registered for it?
I've registered for the National ID card for not less than 3 good years without my ID card. This is an era where banks give ATM cards instantly. What stop NIMC from emulating them.
Someone should tell NIMC that we need our National ID card! When my registration lasted 3 years + without notifications to come pick up my Card, I visited their office at Nigeria Civil Defence Office Complex in Alausa, Ikeja, though my registration was done at their Lagos headquarters, Ikoyi. Reason was that I thought it would be attended to earlier than those done elsewhere. Do you know what they asked me after confirming from me the exact time and place I did my registration? Only 3 years + and you're here disturbing us? What of people that registered years before you?I was completely speechless by that question and their arrogance. A year and some months after that visit, I received a message from NIMC asking me to come pick up my National ID at Bonny Cantonment, Victoria Island. Initially I thought it was a scam. I googled and found out my card was ready for collection. It was actually produced about 2 months after my registration, but they decided to use it to decorate their office for more than 4 years. I eventually went to collect it, and it was already near expiration. And the cards I saw in that office that day was several millions. Those of us that came for collection were just glancing at the heaps of cards stacked almost room full and glaring at ourselves. We couldn't talk because the collection centre was right there in the middle of the Cantonment. Only God knows why they decided to hold on to people's cards. |

Fountainofyouth: Otedola's daughter will carry the bag and also kneel to say sorry, why? Because she is Yoruba and it shows respect, case in point Cuppy, if you've seen her reality show, you will know she respects her elders, the rich doesnt get a pass when it comes to certain things, what a rich person can do, a poor person can do it too, or are you saying only poor people are respectful? What a wack way of thinking. Thank you, Madam. Now, do have a nice day. |

MisterMan123456: I know they grew up together, but what Alhaji Sirika did in Agboyankees room should have been abhorred by late Papa Efe, going by his standards. I think Papa Efe didn't want to interfere with the landlord's private life. Or he might be privy to the immorality both men committed, but decided to turn a blind eye. 1 Like |

MisterMan123456: Centino, how come Alhaji Sirkia and Papa Efe were friends? if Papa Efe was a good witch and Alhaji was into evil deeds with Agboyankee? They actually grew up together, probably schooled together and have been friends since their younger years. Going different ways spiritually, didn't really affect their relationship. 1 Like |

We became friends as a result of working in the same area. Nothing serious. We unexpectedly lost contacts for about 3 years when I had a redeployment, and according to him, he resigned and travelled out. I doubt he travelled out sha, because I later found out he was a seasoned liar.
One day he called. Said he just stumbled on my phone number. But all na wash, I am sure of that.
1. He visited me twice and each time I mentioned that I will pay him a visit the next week, he'll form travelling out of Lagos.
2. I usually hear the laughter or cry of a baby in the background whenever he's on the phone with me. When I asked him, he lied that his neighbours children are always around him whenever he's at home.
3. He was always issuing directives to a certain Bimbo. My personal research on him made me discover that Bimbo is actually his wife. He told me she was a friend.
4. My intuition has never failed me. I knew something wasn't right but I couldn't place my finger on it. Then I asked for his Facebook account.
5. He told me he wasn't really into social media, especially Facebook. That was when I knew that he wasn't for real. It was very strange and that actually piqued my interest. I mean, how could a guy who builds inverter, etc say he doesn't do social media?
6. One day, I made up my mind to dig out whatever it was he was hiding, so I started with Facebook. It didn't take me up to 5 minutes to locate his account, filled with numerous wedding pictures of himself and his wife, family pictures of the couple and their two children. He looked very young, so you wouldn't suspect that he was married. He told me so himself that he wasn't married. Can you imagine that?
7. I kept on searching and I found out that he used his wife to open another account where majority of her contacts were white guys. But what shocked me most was that under relationship I saw SINGLE. Whereas that Facebook account was opened recently. A married woman with two children claiming Single!
She also has another FB account with details of her business and contacts.
I wanted to pay them a surprise visit one day with all the information I garnered, but later changed my mind. I mean, it wasn't worth my useful time.
Up till date, he doesn't know why I stopped picking his calls or responding to his messages. I never told him of my findings. I only thank God I never really got committed with him before my discovery. And the guy seems to know ladies from different sections of Lagos State. I mean, he's damned so promiscuous. Always on phone with them.
To me, any man who has the boldness to deny his wife and children for any reason is more than irresponsible! And that's who that guy is! |

Tintedladybeer: Good evening house,
Nairaland has helped lots of people find solution to their problem, I hope I'm as lucky as others.
Over the last couple of years I noticed my vision declining everyday. I think I started taking notice of it more when I was In 100l, if I don't sit right in front of the class, I don't see whatever is written on the board.
I have gone to the hospital where they were just interested in selling recommended glass which I have used up till now that I have graduated but no visible improvement.
It is so bad that I don't see subtitles when watching movies on TV.
Many times, people pass and wave at me from afar and I will see the person waving but the face will be blurry.
But when reading, I don't use glasses because I can see very well no matter how Tiny the writing may be. Contact me Norland Vision Vitale. You'll be glad you did. You can google our products. There are very effective health supplements. Testimonies after use, abound. |

Centino: I usually avoid these questions o. I'll rather let my characters express themselves and you make of it what you want. But I will make an exception here as I sense that it will be of help to you.
How do I know these things?
Experience? Yes.
Spiritual insight? Yes. And we all have it.
Reading? It's second nature to me.
Curiosity? This is the chief ingredient. My favourite line on this thread when asked this question is...you guessed it..."seek and ye shall find." They were the words that set me on my path. You must be ready to ask tough questions and have the stomach for uncomfortable answers and you must read those books your mother told you not to read.
It is difficult to change your position on something you've been told is true all your life especially when it is about God, or the supernatural, broadly speaking. Fear no dey gree us . But you see, for me, I said "Lord, if you gave me the acumen to think, if you allowed the curiosity to rage within me, then I'm bloody well going to ask questions and challenge popular thinking. On everything.
It's not easy. You will be called names and some people might see you and take off . But then you will be fulfilled. I am. Na only money remain Deep! Somehow back from my sabbatical, read through your current updates and here I am sending you an e-hug, Centino. You sure know how to keep your readers entertained. I am happy for every good thing that happened in the various updates and sad for the bad ones, especially the death of Baba Efe. So Sister Esther had miscarried because of her prayerlessness. Now, she's at the verge of losing her man too. Chai! I can see the Erudite Kingsley falling heads over heels in love with Achike's mother-in-law. I am sure that woman will use different styles and methods to give him multiple orgasms. After his encounter with her, Erudite Kingsley's life will never remain the same again. All in all, I enjoyed every bit of your story. Thumbs up, Centino! 4 Likes 2 Shares |
