It says something when burn victims have to be brought up. Igbo skin tones are just usually very red or orange. Let's leave it at that as already proven. |
i think among igbos, people with fairer skins are more advantaged whereas in yorubaland, its the opposite. doesnt mean light skinned people dont have their own strengths though.
Advantaged like in what? Which of the governors are light? (Which of the governors bleached, ever?) |
https://nm.onlinenigeria.com/articlefiles/796-BenGbulie.gif The man has the dark orangish/earthy tone of Goodluck. Rochas is just really dark orange. It's the same for Edo people, well about half and half. |
It's not common that you will meet an Igbo person with a hue like this: But you'll find this more: https://thestreetjournal.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Goodluck1.jpg |
not really.
I'm not the only who noticed this difference in hue, it's the same for Nigerian's and Ghanians. |
Yoruba dark skin is not always the same as Igbo dark skin, it has a different hue. |
People are missing the fact that the only Yoruba person by genes there only had 20% Igbo. While the Igbo had high amounts of Efik. |
afam4eva:Those are the Igbo Moremi chased. Kidding! |
Mitochondrial! |
what percentage of the 140 million. and besides, a lot of the babies end up outside nigeria.
A lot of them end up in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt to middle class families.
are you referring to the tale of moremi.
Is that what it's called? |
Ọ bụ onye Kameroon. Ọ nà mụta asusu Igbo. |
you're the one getting angry, not me.
Over what? Over the Igbo guy that's 32% Efik? Maybe not.
kindly post any links to stories of aboriginal non-yoruba people being pushed out of anywhere in yorubaland.
Is there a Yoruba tale of defeating aboriginal people? Yes or No? |
Do you know how many women in Nigeria rely on adoption or baby factories for children? |
nigeria alone has over 300 ethnic groups how how would africa be limited to 160.
How many of those 300 ethnic groups have a significant population, plus how many of those ethnic groups have a chance of being involved in the slave trade? Are talking about groups like Bassa which cover one village? (By the way one village would have been sold of in the slave trade, talk less of what these people's population was back then). Ishan is among the top 20 or even 10 ethnic groups in Nigeria so it's obvious they will be tested. |
sbeezy8:His mother is obviously Yoruba, so how can his mothers side be of Igbo descent while they all claim Yoruba? Obviously his parents would have to reveal to him the truth, if this story is true anyway, |
if by absorption you're referring to the claim of igbos being the "original owners" of yorubaland then have a good day.
Why are you getting angry? Is there no tale of an aboriginal people being absorbed or pushed out in Yorubaland? By the way, it's you that has just brought up claims of Igbo being the original owners, not anyone else. |
sbeezy8:Some African ancestry tracing companies claim to have information for over 160 ethnic groups in their databases. How many groups in Africa are higher priority than Ishan? |
whereas we all know the highest percentage of creolized nigerians are in the east, southsouth and midwest.
But you're wrong and you're just generalising. The east of Nigeria didn't have massive wars and absorption following, and they also don't have a tale of meeting and later absorbing an aboriginal people in their homeland to where they migrated. |
'Agwa' is 'to miss somebody' or nostalgia, remember it. I miss you in Igbo is: Agwa gi nà màm. |
I wouldn't say everything positive done by the African diaspora was done by Americans, for example even the Negro flag (RGB) was created by a Jamaican, Marcus Garvey, who is also the father of pan-Africanism in the Americas, and the first liberated black country was Haiti, there are other examples like uprisings and help for the African countries (like from Cuba to Angola, Haiti to Biafra, etc.). |
Some words are already there, but have become unpopular or have come to mean something else, you have to be careful about that, like ókpóró which means 'main road'. There's no such thing as a complete language. What about using some loan words from neighbouring communities that specialise in a particular field, like fishing terms from Ogoni or Kalabari? |
afam4eva:It's not my story.
@ topic seems to me like the whole thing is another attempt to try to reduce the yoruba population and as such, the thread is suspect. can we stop all these expansionist attitudes please. nigerian infrastructure is still underdeveloped so why dont we work towards developing our towns and villages and lobby for improved amenities as well.
Really? ![]() |
Hi Palies, lol. Ok here is the gist. A few of my nigerian friends brought their african american friends to get tested to find out where they are from. So my five nigerian friends and 5 african Amerians and a jamaican did the dna test.http://www.naijapals.com/modules/naijapals/dis-life/your-identity-african-ancestry-mitochondrial-dna-verified/ |
Is that Ijaw or Ogoni?
How much do you know about Nigeria? |
Rotimi is his middle name, His full name is Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. His father was probably just being nationalistic. |
Let us not forget, majority Igbo East of the niger has a strong sense of pride and spiritual attachment and for Oshimili, the birth place of Nzeogwu in the Anioma region, than he does for his own soil in umuahia or aba or owerri, or onicha or enugu.
How, where, how do these people come up with this shit? |
