jmoore: ^^^^you had your opportunity to show me the light, but just as i expected you would lack the word power to express yourself. Claiming to have seen the light and being unable to lead another to it brings to the fore your high-level hypocrisy. It is Christians like you that create room for atheist to mock us. 1 Like |

jmoore: There is a difference between most and all, you are letting your emotions get the better of you. I don't see anything wrong in quoting 50cent. I chose to use his words, I shouldn't act like they were mine, especially on a public forum. I believe if I give you the time to educate me on spiritual matters, you would have a hard time doing that as you would lack the word power to convey your thoughts, especially when you have a poor grasps of the issue you intend to discuss. It not unusual to get your kind of reactions from Christians 1 Like |

Heartibaby: When you fall in love with someone, the prospect of spending forever with them is appealing. Hence the popular love quotes such as "love you forever and alway" and the likes. As a Christian I love God and the idea of spending eternity with Him and the family of believers whom I love appeals to me. He reveals himself to me in new refreshing ways everyday right now and I expect nothing less in eternity. This leads to the burning question. How do you love someone you cannot/have not see(n)? Most people would love to argue that they have fallen in love with strangers on social media and the likes. If only most Christians would not take the hypocritical path, most of our relationships with God is actually a monologue. "Most nights I talk to God, but he don't say nothing back" - 50cent. |

bezimo: When you are a student and a Tither, God who cannot lie will be commited to blessing the work of your hand which is your academics by enabling and helping you to excel.God becomes a partner with you in your academics. and God cannot partner with a fellow and the person fail.also you are expected to tithe your increases such as pocket money and and money that may be given to you as gift.but i dont think school fees is part of the money that could be tithed? because its not a personal finacial increase.I'm a living example of the benefits of this. At the bolded is a fairy-tale.Do a case study with your fellowship and come back and tell us how many percent of your tithers who were not hard-working even saw "second class upper" on graduation. We are not to tithe on any grounds. 1 Like |

frosbel: Eternal life in a new heaven and earth , where there is no more death, pain or sorrow is the real deal. My argument actually is that the tribulations and uncertainties of life is what makes it worthwhile.Like 50cent said " Sunny days wouldn't be special, if it wasn't for rain. Joy wouldn't feel so good, if it wasn't for pain." Absent the sorrow and pain, would it still be a great feeling? Would the "law of diminishing utility" not come into play after a while? 2 Likes |

Religion / How Appealing Is The Promise Of Eternal Life? by ezme(m): 10:19am On Mar 09, 2013 |
I have heard many believers say they live for the world that is to come and do not care about what happens in this world. While reflecting privately on my ideologies and perception of the world around me, I got thinking of the promise of "eternal life". The movie "Shrek forever after" created a mental picture of what eternity would look like after he signed his deal with Rumpelstiltskin. All that kept coming to my mind was stagnation,no aging, same drill everyday (singing & praising God),and nothing outside this routine to look forward to. Then I also got thinking of the concept of a meaningful life. What do we live for? What gives our life a meaning? As a Child in primary school, looking forward to growing up was enough reason to live, it made everyday worthwhile and gave you something to look forward to (a future). As an adult looking forward to starting a family and achieving your dreams makes it worthwhile and a sense of purpose. As an old man, I believe seeing your children achieve their dreams and have kids. Now back to the promise of eternal life. Is it that attractive? Or is it the fear of eternal damnation that scares you? I would love to have diverse open-minded perspectives on this. Share your thoughts.. 8 Likes |

Speranza Voy: that is what am saying, the Nigerian award interview will take place in the federal unity colleges in the state capital and where it is not located in the state capital, you should contact the state director while BEA has for it only one specific center across each zone The proposed date is what i asked you to look into, not the venue. Please modify your post so you don't mislead other applicants. Follow this link to see the venues and dates for the Nigerian Award.----> http://fsb.gov.ng/archives/638 |

Speranza Voy: For clarification purposes, the dates 11th to 15th are the interview dates for the Nigerian award while 18th to 22nd are the dates for BEA award interview You may need to reconfirm for the Nigerian awards, because I believe I saw somewhere on the FSB site in the wee hours of today dates stating April, and venues being the Federal Unity schools in all state capitals. |

Anybody that still feels he should tithe can continue practicing Judaism. Its always difficult to throw away a default position especially when you have been indoctrinated to do so all your Christian life. P.S: Anyone who comes here to say God specifically instructed him/her to tithe should read up the mental condition called "schizophrenia" 3 Likes |

cecegorz: jmoore: @frosbel, why don't you take the lead? Do exactly what you have posted in your church. Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils of war. Please provide any bible translation where "this tenth" Abraham gave was actually called tithe. Let me put present day tithing in perspective. Tithing is a membership criterion for administrative purposes and is not an instruction from God for present day Christians. Your Church needs money to operate and a sure way to get it is through tithing. So when next you pay your tithe know you as helping to keep your Church running and not attracting God's blessings. Tithing can been likened to paying dues in social clubs. 4 Likes |

all4naija: A clear and deep conjecture. Yet, there is potent evidence in that statement, man. I believe in gravity because I can prove it and I have witnessed it several times. Let the Christian prove the existence of God, also the atheist should prove there is no God. ^^^ I think this is the crux of the matter, not all the 20 pages of banter. 1 Like |
