childluck: @poster. Nairaland isn't the best around, quite true! Lagbook will also not be everything to everyboby.
And if Lagbook gives you everything why are you stll herehuh?

Don't criticise other people's ideas, only you can suggest ways to improve and that's only if you must!

I for one love this planet called Nairaland and the wonderful people living in it !!!
You just spoke my mind! I love nairaland, and really don't care about Lag, Nas, or 'Josbook'.

RuuDie: 2005-06, 17 Nov 2005 precisely - the El Clasico at the Bernabeu. . .so impressive was Barcelona and Ronaldinho in particular that Real Madrid fans had no choice but to put sentiments aside for once and applaud them. Truly special moment of commendable spirit and sportsmanship!
Also memorable was Samuel Eto'o's raised fist gesture towards the VIP box where the Madrid president was seated.
Those were the days you really would love El Clasico. Thanks for reminding me.

Well, I've got many, but the most memorable is (actually two), when Andres Iniesta scored that goal at the UCL semi final against Chelsea, and his winning goal against The Netherlands at the World Cup final.

The reason why the UCL semi final (equallizing) goal is so memorable, is because my landlady and her children (including the husband) are all Chelsea fans. So they were all taunting me till the late minute, untill I decided to get out of the compound (cos I couldn't just stay in our apartment, I was 'shuttling' between their apartment and ours), as I was about leaving her apartment and the compound, I heard the shout of goal, but I thought Chelsea had scored again, not until my brother gripped me (at/by the door) that I realised it was Barça, that scored! I can't tell you guys what I did that night, but you needed to see me that night!

Sports › Re: Why Are We Shedding Tears For Yekini? – Kanu by Fairgodwin(m): 2:53am On May 09, 2012
adeleye83: Please whenever you comment seek the truth first and not rumours. I stay in Ibadan and I am in active sports with the Sports Council. Rashidi Yekini was never a begger nor poor o. He was still a normal person though you can say not stinkingly rich like he was in the nineties. He died of mental illness and that was eredictary. He would walk the streets of Ring road and challenge with bare foot. Few weeks ago, he began to burn his housing properties in town and would withdraw large money in his banks without reasons. Only God knows what he used the money for, maybe he burnt it with the house and few weeks he died. Please seek the truth and not rumours. Rashidi Yekini was not poor nor begging for alms o. He still ok with what he had but was mentally ill.
Thanks bro, for the enlightenment.

solayemi: See black brains talking/commenting. What happened to the money he made as a footballer? How many houses has d brazilian gvmt built 4 pele or how many times has d french gvmt paid zidane's hospital bills. These guys made themselves relevant after their careers, that is why we still see them 2day and not because their govmnts put them where they are today. What did he do with his life and wealth after soccer?
Now, this was a very sensible one. And since I've been beaten (in my own judgement), I retire....

Joey82: and what did kanu in his capacity do to help yekini, at least yekini was an inspiration to him.
Inasmuch as I like and respect Kanu for his philanthropism (forgive that English), I still really wanted to ask this same question! At least they (Kanu & co) made it 'bigger' than the Yekini's.....

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: TB Joshua: Chelsea Will Win Champions League trophy by Fairgodwin(m): 4:56pm On May 02, 2012
Each time (in recent times) Barcelona loses at the semi final(s) of the Eufa Champions League, the next season, they always come back to claim it! In 2008, they lost to Man U, 2009 they got it. 2010, to Inter, 2011 they got it. 2012, to Chelsea, 2013, Watch Out!
NB: Any team (club) Barça loses to (at the semis) ALWAYS end(ed) up winning it! So Bayern, Watch It!!
I really care-less about his 'prophecy(ies)!'

I remember that day. I just got admitted into this school as a transferred student (JSS 2), and had to come with my own chair (i think it was a double decker too). I got into the large school compound, very confused, so I just dropped my chair, sat on it and faced the school. The whole students that passed by me, knew immediately, that this (boy) was a jjc. I was just looking at the assembly ground till around 10:00am, even when the students had gone into their various classes. I really can't remember how I left that place that day!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Pep Guardiola Set To Step Down As Barcelona Manager by Fairgodwin(m): 10:39am On Apr 27, 2012
sholatech: Only biased haters can degrade Pep. With time, you will understand that he's one of the best strategists ever in football. Is it easy to win a treble in your first assignment as a league club coach?Did Mou achieve that?
Another coach looking for money would have gone ahead to sign with another club(he has loads of offers!), but he is spending 1 year to go back and invent another style of football. I wish he can be on retainer with Barca after his 1 year leave. Any club that lands him then will have a treasure in their hands.
He knew since he'll leave end of this season;you can understand his numerous experiments with 3-4-3 and also honing the skills of La Masia guys like Thiago, Tello, Cuenca etc thus bequeating some assets to the new manager. And you can also see him involved in getting a new coach for the club. I doff my hat for Pep!!
You made so much sense! I really wanted to say otherwise; though a Barça fan myself. Thanks for this.

Wow! Am so happy. What a way to be relieved?! Messi, hero turned villain, Ronaldo, hero turned villain. Inasmuch as I really wanted a Spanish team to be at the final (and possibly win it), but for the sake of Mourinho, I wished otherwise! Madrid, be contented with the La Liga, and Barcelona, may be the Copa del Rey. Hey Bayern, deny England and make me proud! Forza, One Barça!!
Health › Re: My Pre-eclampsia Story. by Fairgodwin(m): 8:55am On Apr 24, 2012
Wow! Am very sorry for your loss, and all you went through. I must also thank you for sharing, cos (it happened to my sister) when it happened to my sis, we (I) never knew this was the case. Now I know better! But my sis suffered!! And had to spend about three months at a teaching hospital, after private hospital(s) failed (not exaggerating o). But my mother was/is really strong in prayer(s), even her church were holding series of prayer meetings on her behalf. The baby was later born through CS and put in the incubator (for close to like 8wks(?) I can't really say). By God's grace, they both survived, and the boy is now 2years old. But now, my sister's somehow afraid of getting pregnant again; and that was even her second child! May God console you, @afamdman.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: The Galacticos (Real Madrid Fans Only) by Fairgodwin(m): 12:23pm On Apr 22, 2012
Honestly, Madrid fans, make una let people hear word. Out of eleven (11) el clasicos (in recent times), you just won your second, and the whole world won't rest? I understand, you guys are really celebrating (that 'at last!'). Btw, it was a nice game yesternight. At least, I witnessed an el clasico (in Mourinho era) that was fair (in officiating), and the players really behaved (themselves) maturely! Congrats Madrid. Forza, One Barça!!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Is Watching Matches At Viewing Centres Fun Filled? by Fairgodwin(m): 11:49pm On Apr 15, 2012
I remember when I operated a viewing centre myself, and hard to show mostly, EPL matches and then go somewhere else where we have plenty of la liga fans to watch my own team play. Whenever it was champions league (match) time, and we (I and a couple of friends) have to watch it at home, they usually turn out to be boring moments, believe me. But now, I wouldn't trade (going to) viewing centers for the (private) presidential lounge! A trial will convince you all.

The first question is, WHERE IS HE RUNNING TO?
The Second question is, HOW FAST IS HE RUNNING?
lol.

As for GEJ, he has ONLY this year to deliver at least ONE FULLY FUNCTIONAL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN SOUTH EAST NIGERIA, else I might catch up with Buhari, no matter where he is running and how fast he is running. Political na wild animal. cool

Family › Re: Seriously Contemplating A Divorce by Fairgodwin(m): 8:35am On Apr 13, 2012
knowledge4: Many of us go through or have gone through such storms in marriage.
Please, kill the thought of divorce in your heart. It is not the answer to the problem and never an answer anywhere.
Divorce will worsen the matter for you and your children.
Marriage is full of storms, never a bed of roses.Yet it is the most unique of human relationships.Smooth& rough edges, sweet &bitter moments. You have sweet memories of the marriage. Why worry over a bitter moment? Its a temporal thing,it will pass away.
You will overcome the problems if you can be patient.
He may be going through some problems.
Find out from him what he is going through and help him. That is your duty as his wife.
You are his helpmeet in marriage and this is the time to play your roles as a helpmate.
Being a helpmeet means to help, project, motivate, uplift and to promote your husband.
It means to provide or support him with prayers, sex, meals, counsel, solace, comfort, hospitality, housekeeping and financial assistance.
Are you not a christian? Have you been praying? it is time you arise and pray to God for a change in his behavior.A drinking habit and nights outside the matrimonial home are recipe for disaster.Look for Bimbo Odukoya's book titled 'Woman,Fight For Your Marriage'.
All the issues a woman should fight against are already manifestations in your marriage.Fight spiritually through prayers, not physical.
You are married.Divorce is not allowed (Malachi 2:16)(1 Corinthians 7:10-11)(Romans 7:1-3).stay married and face the challenges looking unto Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.Dont look at the problem, look for God in the problem.
As I always advise, please seek counsel in the counselling unit of a bible believing ministry.
6 years is too early to complain and think of running away.As long as your life is not in danger, please be at peace.
I am 15 years in marriage, have a daughter aged 14 and my wife & i have weathered horrible storms. As it is now,i cannot think of seperating from my wife,or divorcing her for any reason,no matter her misbehavior. For my daughter's sake too.I made up my mind to stay married to one woman and make the marriage work. You have to make the marriage work.Happy marriages dont just happen. You make it happen.
Always consider your babies interests as paramount in any decision you take in marriage.
The storms or stress in marriage makes one stronger if you can stand against them by God's grace and prayers. The key to your victory is in your hand already(Matthew 16:19).Use it.
That is my sincere christain advice for you based on Scripture(The Bible).
Thank you so much!
