[BREAKING: Olubadan wades in, sends delegation to Cotonou for Mr Sunday Igboho Sodiq Oyeleke 25 July 2021 The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1, has sent a delegation to Cotonou, Benin Republic over the court case involving Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho. A statement by the first-class monarch’s Director of Media and Publicity, Adeola Oloko, did not disclose the identity of members of the delegation. He, however, said the delegation was sent to observe the proceedings of the court case involving Sunday Igboho. The statement quoted Oba Adetunji as saying this at his Popoyemoja, Ibadan palace on Sunday while exchanging views with some leaders of thought comprising the leadership of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes led by President General, Prince Yemisi Adeaga, first vice President General, Dr Tirimisiyu Oladimeji; Ekefa Olubadan, Senior Chief Lekan Alabi; Ajia Olubadan, Chief Wasiu Aderoju Alaadorin; Mogaji Makusota, Prof. Oluwasegun Adekunle and Personal Assistant to Olubadan, Mr Adeola Oloko. Olubadan said this would allay the fears of several people, including protesters who besieged his palace that he was folding his arms over the travails of Sunday Igboho and his co-travellers. “Sunday Igboho lives in Ibadan, got married in Ibadan, reared children in Ibadan, built houses in Ibadan and as such he has the rights to be protected by Ibadan Traditional Institution within the ambit of the law just like any human being in Ibadan,” the statement added. The first-class monarch also stated that he was in constant touch with Yoruba prominent royal fathers, including Igboho royal crowns. Read Also Igboho: Yoruba group mobilises supporters to Cotonou, offers free accommodation Yoruba monarchs in Benin Republic meet over Sunday Igboho Sunday Igboho can only be extradited on political grounds -Lawyer He also noted that he would not allow the “repeat performance of Yoruba-Fulani coalition of 1814”. “Students of Nigeria history may wish to be reminded that when some people during the period under reference chose to engage in territorial expansion to the sea, it took the Ibadan army under Balogun Oderinlo to repel the attack and stop the incursion near Osogbo,” he said. The Beninese court adjourned Igboho’s case till Monday (tomorrow) after his five lawyers failed to convince the prosecutor that he had no case to answer. The Beninese authorities have, however, released Ropo, the agitator’s wife, who was arrested with the 48-year-old activist on Monday, July 19, 2021, by the International Criminal Police Organisation at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, Republic of Benin on their way to Germany. On his part, Igboho was returned to police custody. The lawyers had said that during the hearing, prosecutors claimed Igboho was on a watchlist for alleged trafficking in arms, inciting violence that could result in social disturbance and causing disunity in Nigeria. The PUNCH had reported that Yoruba leaders, including monarchs, are rallying support for the Yoruba rights activist. JOSHUA”/“SEE FACTUAL STATEMENTS MADE BY THE FOUNDER OF DUNAMIS CHURCH, PAUL ENENCHE ABOUT THE LIVING T.B JOSHUA” “WHILE WE BURY HIM...HIS DEATH OPENED MY EYES” We appreciate the concerns of our friends and well-wishers over the above misleading publications purportedly written by our Senior Pastor, Dr. Paul Enenche. We wish to reiterate that the above, amongst other mischievous captions, but same content, did not originate from Dunamis International Gospel Centre, and the Senior Pastor did not write any of them. The original story was written by a totally different person by the name, Peter Enenche Obonyilo, AKA(Enenche Enenche), a comedian, and it was published on DailyPost Online on 9th July, 2021 with the author’s name (Enenche Enenche) boldly written on it. Clarifying statements have been issued on Saturday, 10th July, 2021 by various parties, including the original author, Enenche Enenche across different media platforms dissociating the Senior Pastor from the said story, yet it is still being wrongly attributed to him and circulated as such. We therefore call on the general public to disregard as false, misleading and malicious any version of the subject article attributed to Dr Paul Enenche. For Dr. Paul Enenche Signed Sylvester Edoh (Secretary to the Senior Pastor).

Yoruba nation: International Criminal Court acknowledges Akintoye, Igboho, others’ petition Sodiq Oyeleke 14 July 2021 The International Criminal Court, on Tuesday, acknowledged a 27-page petition filed by Yoruba Nation agitators. Those who signed the petition are the Leader of Ilana Omo Oodua, Emeritus Professor Banji Akintoye; Yoruba Activist, Sunday Adeyemo fondly called Sunday Igboho; and other 49 Yoruba Self-Determination Groups. The petition was filed against the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.); the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN; former Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai; and former Inspectors General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and Muhammed Adamu. In the petition, the Yoruba Nation agitators accused the Nigerian leaders and security chiefs of genocide and crimes against humanity against the Yoruba people of Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ogun, Okun Land in Kogi, and Kwara states respectively. A letter to the petitioners’ lawyer by the ICC’s Head of Information and Evidence Unit of the Office of the Prosecutor, Mr. Mark P. Dilon, read, “This communication has been duly entered in the Communications Register of the Office. “We will give consideration to this communication, as appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. “As soon as a decision is reached to formally commence investigation into this petition, we will inform you, in writing, and provide you, with reasons for this decision.” The 27-page petition accused Buhari, Malami, Buratai, and others of Genocide offences such as killing members of the petitioners group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about physical destruction in whole or in part. Read Also Igboho: Yoruba Nation agitation must continue, say Gani Adams, others Igboho: Falana lambasts DSS over 'nocturnal coup' Lagos Assembly passes bill barring police from parading suspects Akintoye, in a statement by his Communications Manager, Mr Maxwell Adeleye, added, “We Yoruba people must now move forward to accomplish our Yoruba nation’s self-determination by holding a referendum. A referendum is exactly like a regular election in which people line up at voting stations to vote for a candidate. “I want a Yoruba Republic separate from Nigeria. Each voter will be able to vote yes or no. That is the Yoruba nation referendum. “But we Yorubas need to take some steps before we can get our referendum. The first step is to make a strong statement loud and clear that we Yorubas want a referendum. The best peaceful way to make that statement is to circulate a petition among us that we want a referendum.” What the petitioners requested In a copy of the petition obtained by our correspondent, the petitioners claimed that “in Nigeria, there are ongoing violations of Human Rights, as expressed specifically in the Rome Statute, being perpetrated against the Yoruba People, particularly genocide under Article 6, and Crimes Against Humanity under Article 7, of the Rome Statute.” They also explained that their submission indicated “a growing popular outrage over the Fulani-dominated Nigerian government officials’ crimes against the Yoruba people, our collective will for a criminal investigation, consequent prosecution, and justice.” “As Nigeria is a state party to the Rome Statute, pursuant to Article 12.1, the precondition to the Court’s exercise of jurisdiction exists, we, therefore, urge the honorable Prosecutor to: act pursuant to Article 15.2, initiate the Court’s investigation pursuant to Article 15.3, and urge this honorable Court to exercise its jurisdiction, pursuant to Article 13(c), without limitation to the accused persons listed on page two of this communique, in connection with the foregoing allegations,” part of the petition added. Others who signed the petition with Akintoye and Ighoho are Imam of Yoruba in Ilorin, Kwara State, Shielk Raheem Aduranigba; Leader of Obinrin Oodua Agbaye, Chief Simisade Kuku; Leader of Yoruba Strategy Alliance, Babatunde Omololu; General Secretary of Ilana Omo Oodua, George Akinola, and 44 others. Other government officials petitioned are Comptroller General of Customs, Hammid Alli; Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba; Chief of Army Staff, Farouk Yahaya; former Chief of Airforce, Sadiq Abubakar; former Commandant-General of NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi; Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Services, Mohammed Babandede and the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Abdulahi Gana Muhammadu. https://punchng.com/breaking-yoruba-nation-international-criminal-court-acknowledges-akintoye-igboho-others-petition/ |
