Good initiative. Meanwhile, many Obi-dients will struggle to make heaven because of Gov. Soludo even when Peter Obi himself is free-minded towards him. Each time they see him, it is HATRED RENEWED. ![]() |

In as much as President Tinubu's life will make an interesting suspense-filled movie but the fact that he used this same certificates to work in blue-chip American accounting firms and later in a multinational oil company, means they must have cross-checked his background information before employing him. However, it is up to the court to decide. Interestingly, the judges treating presidential petition also read articles like this one that Farooq A. Kperogi wrote and don't rule out the extent to which it will influence them. And so, don't surprised if Farooq A. Kperogi was heavily paid for writing this article as an US-based academic familiar with system to reinforce Tinubu's defense. |

Having read his resume, I believe Khalil Halilu is a better fit for SMEDAN or NITDA than NASENI but I wish him success in office . About NASENI NASENI, by its mandate and scope of operation is the Nigerian only purpose built Agency designed to conduct developmental work in the areas of manufacturing and as such, it is capable of coordinating the proliferation of technologies developed either within or outside of its Centers including patents obtained. Technologies developed in the areas of spares, components and systems engineering are to be transferred to Entrepreneurs for the production of goods and services. Nigeria can have the benefit of a rapid technological development by strengthening NASENI. The mission of NASENI is to establish and nurture appropriate and dynamic Science and Engineering Infrastructure-base for achieving home-initiated and home-sustained industrialization through the development of relevant processes, capital goods and equipment necessary for job creation, national economic well-being and progress. A vision is, therefore, set to create an enabling knowledge-driven environment for local mass-production of standard parts, goods and services required for the Nation’s Technology Advancement. The mandate of NASENI is specifically in the area of capital goods research, production, and reverse engineering with respect to the following broad areas: - Engineering Materials; - Industrial and Analytical Chemical Materials; -Scientific Equipment and components; Engineering Equipment; Engineering Designs and Standardization; Power Equipment; Source: NASENI website |
If there is a minister that needs serious prayer, it is Dele Alake. This because the people involved in this illegal mining are politicians, royal fathers, top security personnel, Chinese interests and top people in the Ministry of Solid minerals. These people are capable of doing anything to keep the illegal mining going. I even heard there is illegal mining going in Kogi State by a well known billionaire and this has continued in spite fight by Kogi Governor. Therefore, if Dele Alake carry his usual coconut head enter this fight, it might consume him. Well, I am writing this believing that Dele Alake is SINCERE in his imminent fights against illegal miners. |
modernWays:I don't think my comment was pro-coup. Read again. |
From recent experiences: - Retiring older generals and promoting younger officers will make the coup happen the faster than stop it. Young enlightened officers are usually revolutionary-minded and have tendencies to take risks to become heroes even when they have no plan for the country. - Retiring army officers from other tribes and putting officers of your tribe in charge doesn't guarantee that coup won't happen. The head of junta in Guinea was made the head of presidential guard because the ex-president saw him as his brother. Still, he overthrew him to grab power. Ali Bongo was overthrown by his head presidential guard first cousin who shared many corrupt practices with him. So affinity doesn't kill the pursuit of power in men. So, Paul Kagame should quit seeing himself as messiah and retire to allow Rwanda's democracy to test it self with regular cycles of elections and strengthen. On the other hand, the cabal propping up brain-dead Paul Biya should just call for new elections or watch their backs eternally. The same with Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Faure Eyedama of Togo, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and his fat head son of Equatorial Guinea and others. To avoid coup, just do the right thing: - Hold credible election. - Obey the constitution on tenure of office. - Don't steal money from the public treasury but use it to develop the country. - Do your best , allow the people chose the next president and hand over power. |
MadamExcellency:All over the world, government use incentives to attract people to a particular sector of the economy. If FG and state government would encourage formation of regulated cooperative societies to access funding and inputs, specialized training to non-agricultural graduates, allocation of lands, provision of security, facilitation of marketing for better product pricing that guarantee profits, insurance service for disease outbreaks, etc, there will be massive boost in exportation and local processing of agricultural products. |
A massive window of OPPORTUNITY to encourage local production of rice with an initiative better than the poorly implemented Buhari/ Emefiele's Anchor borrowers programme. |

If I were Coach Jose Peseiro, I will not allow the chance to have a bite at AFCON cherry to go like that especially with the talented players Nigeria have. I can't have a major continental tournament at a touching distance and walk away. I will accept the new terms, go to AFCON, work hard with my players and if they do well, I would better my CV in the process and look for job in another African country. |
There is more here than meet the eyes. Whatever receipt Nyesom Wike has that is holding PDP back from expelling him must be something dark or scandalous. |
watersideboys:If you knew how much military officers like Musa Yar'adua, Theophilus Danjuma, Ibrahim Babangida, Sani Abacha, etc. and the MILADs of 36 states looted, you will know that there is no difference between politicians and soldiers when it comes to looting of the treasury. The problem is GREED and not whether it is democracy or militocracy. |
What Governor Obaseki did to his deputy Philip Shaibu is simply a demonstration of Cobra Kai. Hit First. Hit hard. No mercy. But the truth is, if what Shaibu did to Oshiomole is anything to go be, a governor Shaibu would do worse thing in the show of power to an adversarial deputy governor. |
The sad thing is that this sharia won't be applied to cut the hands of Abdul'aziz Abubakar Yari and Bello Matawalle for their looting and abysmal tenures as governors of Zamfara. But of course, it is the hands of hungry people that will be chopped off. Hypocrites! |
adedayoa2:You have problem with it? |
With kind of tattered economy and increasingly restive young population Nigeria have at the moment, which army officers will take life and death risk to carry out coup and face the highly intense pressure of fixing the economy. But again, you never know. |
Dropping of Mariam Shetty has nothing to do with Osinbajo but has everything to do with her open detest and criticism of Ganduje. Afterall, in President's cabinet are some individuals who had criticized him in the past though I believe FFK's status of an outsider to Tinubu's government may not unconnected with his heavily deriding comments against Tinubu in the past before joining APC. |

iReddington:Don't be myopic. Look at the big picture. This Gabon coup and the positive reception by the citizens negatively affects the justification for ECOWAS intervention in Niger where the citizens also received the coup with cheers. |
Why can't the Junta in Niger begin to reach out to ECOWAS, AU and US instead ostracizing themselves and getting holed up in Niamey. Somebody should advise them that the current 'coconut' tactics will work against them in the long run. They a little bit of diplomacy at this point. |
seunmsg:Of course not but this Gabon coup and the positive reception by the citizens negatively affects the justification for ECOWAS intervention in Niger where the citizens also received the coup with cheers. |
SmartyPants:It puts a kind of pin on ECOWAS balloon as far as Niger coup is concerned. |
What a time to be the Chairman of ECOWAS. President Tinubu will be like "Na who send me go take this post'. However, the task is not difficult for him. He should just call emergency meeting of ECOWAS and read the riot act, insisting on the following points though he lacks the requisite credibility at home front: - Hold credible election. - Obey the constitution on tenure of office. - Don't steal money from the public treasury but use it to develop the country. - Do your best , allow the people chose the next president and hand over power. African Union wake and smell the coffee. It is time to change the dance steps. For those who think I am Ignorant that Gabon is not in ECOWAS, the fact is that this Gabon coup and the positive reception by the citizens negatively affects the justification for ECOWAS intervention in Niger where the citizens also received the coup with cheers. |
'Mummy please help me talk to Obasa. He is scattering my government and "baba sope" is too busy now to help." ![]() |
I am afraid for Cameroon, Togo and Equatorial Guinea because these countries ticks the vital boxes. Paul Biya, Eyedema and the fathead in Equatorial Guinea are sure undergoing tension now and I just hope that many suspected innocent army officers won't be proactively arrested and killed for nothing to prevent coup. France slept too long on romancing with bad leaders to maintain status quo and 'peace' to facilitate the continued exploitation of former colonies that if failed to notice that realities of the time. France failed to rein in the Presidents of the Francophone countries after independence to AT LEAST do the right for their citizens and obey the constitution on terms of office. It has the implicit moral authority to pressure these African Presidents to grow the economy, which would have benefited France economy too in the long run. It allowed Félix Houphouët-Boigny of Ivory Coast to stay for too long. It looked away while Gnassingbé Eyadéma of Togo grow old in office and even handed to his son who is still in power. They pampered Ahmadou Ahidjo and later senile Paul Biya of Cameroon. It preferred to rather accept the helpless young citizens of these countries as migrants in France in continuation of its exploitative agenda. Stupid. Even though Britain's policy through Commonwealth organization is mainly for prestige, it also failed to rein in the Presidents of the Anglophone countries to do the right thing for their citizens. It just stayed aloof while the economies of former colonies are mismanaged by their leaders and would rather house the fortunes which these selfish leaders stole from their countries. Sad. In as much I believe that the Juntas are not any better than the politicians, my prayer is that this coup epidemic will force African leaders to wake up and smell the coffee. |
