Many Obi-dients will struggle to make heaven because of this man. Each time they see him, it is HATRED RENEWED. ![]() Carry on my governor. ![]() |
President Tinubu rubbed shoulders with his Dad late Prince Abubakar Audu as fellow governors several years a go. The young man prostrating is his way to appreciate Tinubu in recognition of the relationship with his late father. He carefully thought about it and had it mind to surprise Tinubu and Iam sure being a Yoruba, Tinubu deeply appreciated that gesture with thoughts like "Dide omo dada!". ![]() For those who believe this young man's appointment is merely based on favouritism: Shuaibu Abubakar Audu attended University of Leicester in the United Kingdom where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business economics in 2001. He obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Oxford in 2013. He is an investment banker and a Nigerian politician. Between 2013 — 2023, Shuaibu Audu worked in Lagos as an investment analyst with Stanbic IBTC. He also served as an executive director of the bank's assets management subsidiary. Audu served as chief executive officer of the Stanbic IBTC Investment for 10 years until his foray into politics. He was a governorship candidate under APC. Source: Wikipedia |
Naijaboy18:Democracy is a game of number. Democracy is never a perfect system. Being a system that upholds the view of the majority over minority, one of its downsides is that a popular madman could be elected into an office than a world acclaimed but unpopular development economist. Democracy is a popularity contest rather than competence test. In view of the foregoing, I am saying that naturally a tribe or tribes with superior numerical strength in African countries largely determine who becomes the president. I am also saying that often such determination is not based on competence but affiliation based on the popularity of the candidate among that majority tribe or tribes. I am further positing that if Africans can rise above this tribal burden and evaluate and elect candidates based on competence and equally overlook tribal sentiment in rejecting non-performing leaders at the polls, the terrible economic situation of the countries improve tremendously. |
Any revolution that is based on emotion and personality cult is bound to be worse than the system it replaced. It becomes worse if such revolution is driven by a military officer because he will become a dictator over time and will use state resources to do favours to associates and to convert his enemies to maintain his grip on power. It worse becomes worst if such a military-driven revolution is in Africa where there is little or no precedence of visionary leadership. The fact is that the current military leaders in Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali and Guinea are simply power opportunists with zero vision and they haven't shown otherwise by how they go about like imperial leaders surrounded by forces and admired, as usual, by helpless gullible citizens. Those countries will end being illustrations of Orwellian classic "Animal farm". Look, the real problem of Africa is ethnicity and protection of ethnic interests. We are tribal people and we have refused to grow above that. Democracy being a system of number has made the situation worse. This has led to emergence of wrong leaders and undermining of even the right leaders. For example South Sudan got independence and got trapped in inter-tribal contentions rather than develop the country they fought hard for. The last election in Nigeria brought up so much tribal sentiments and devalued the quality of the final electoral product. The truth is that African countries can only become prosperous if they rise above tribal sentiments. It is only when they do this that they can see clearly and appreciate a presidential candidate who has vision and offers solid plan of action to develop the country. And when such elected leader fails, they will overlook tribal sentiment and search carefully for another using tribe-blind lens. |
Nasir El Rufai should accept that lost out in a power play. He was a beneficiary of such powerplay in the past and a time was the ruthless head of the powerplay in Kaduna State APC, deciding who should be pushed out in the cold. With his boys as current Governor of Kaduna and Speaker of HoR and his first son as member of HoR, El Rufai is not completely a loser unless the boys have switched loyalty as he did to VP Abubakar Atiku during Obasanjo's presidency. |
The fact is that war is never a good thing. It should be the regrettable but inevitable last resort to resolving thorny issues. The tragedy here is that FFK is sounding more and more like an outsider than somebody who campaigned for Tinubu. Having been overlooked, so far, in key appointments, it is like he is laying foundation for becoming an emergency social critic against the current government. FFK the loquacious debauchee and glutton who haughtily fanned the embers of tribal war online during and after presidential elections has all of a sudden become a hater of war. What a change of heart. ![]() |
TWoods:I am not sure they care a hoot. |
Codeye:Yes, I did. |
Igboslayer:Have you seen the plan on how to implement blue economy? If you have, please share. |
Gandrova:True. |
One thing I noticed is that the wedding took place in Nigeria. I don't think the Ekweremadus trust the English people anymore. ![]() Another thing that I noticed is that Senator Ekeremadu and his wife have accepted their travails with philosophical calmness and therefore gave their blessing to their son to carry on with his wedding. May God give us the grace to accept the things we cannot change. Amen ![]() Wishing the young couple, happy married life! |
Offpointng:It is up to the court. Whatever they say. |
Ttalk:Most Nigerians people can distinguish Peter Obi from the Obi-dients. He has consistently shows that his life values are different from the 'mob' attitude of Obi-dients. Even the people around President Tinubu know that Peter Obi is a viable option for Nigerians. |
On the contrary, Peter Obi's invitation and attendance at this wedding promotes his political clout rather than diminish it. A couple of years ago this wouldn't have been possible. Interestingly, he looks a lot more comfortable among his Northern peers than he used to be 6 years when he ran with Atiku as VP. Of course, this means he is making more friends and building bridges. And for those who don't know, Peter Obi remains an a viable option for Nigeria in 2027 presidential elections depending on how Tinubu manage the current economic hardship. |
There is nothing wrong with the concept of Blue Economy. I mean apart from sounding romantic as to play tricks on your 'dirty mind' that it is about 'olosho economy', I believe it will diversify the economy if implemented intentionally and effectively. But the million Naira question is: Is there actually a well-researched and articulated Blue Economy Development Plan in place or were the people who adopted the name merely fascinated by the term, blue economy? |
Godswill Akpabio is a megalomaniac suffering from delusions of grandeur. He is so full of himself and his ego that there no space for common sense anymore. He was made Senate President to make life easy for President Tinubu but he will struggle to last on the job because that position needs someone who is not given to buffoonery and 'anyhow' mentality. |
MARKETfund:That will mean blowing my cover. I prefer the current anonymity that NL offers. Have a great family get together, though. |

patrickcollins:I agree with you to an extent. That's part of awareness that he needed to have in his sojourn at CBN. However, I must accept that perhaps this factor may have drove him to run to the Northern oligarchs for protection and support. I just pray he would cheer up and take this travail calmly for the sake of his health. |
correctguy101:That's what you think. Bloody Blackman. ![]() |
Free2Fly:You're a disgusting skunk! I'll forever respect Nigerian soldiers who defend Nigerians at every opportunity they get. I will never forget their heroism at home and UN missions! May the souls of our gallant troops and their supreme sacrifice torment the hell out of you for senselessly hating them |
ehikwe22:I respect your opinion but I disagree with it. |
So sad. May their souls rest in perfect peace. May God give the families and dependants left behind in sorrow and confusion the fortitude the bear the loss. May governmental, divine, human help come their ways. I will forever respect a soldier wherever and whenever I see one. Willingly offering to pay supreme price to protect the lives of others is something that everyone must appreciate. |
geemd434:Wetin Emefiele no do? |
FreeStuffsNG:I am neither the recorder of sins nor the accuser of brethren. I just tried to capture the summary what brought Emefiele to where is now. |

That baby might end up a deliverance minister laying hands or a goalkeeper frustrating attackers. Just guessing... ![]() |
Godwin Emefiele trusted mortals in power and forgot that power is, in fact, ephemeral. He trusted human beings and forgot that humans are fickle and non-dependable. He trusted Buhari as president. He visited him at short notice at the Villa and in Daura. They did 'high five' and posed for pictures smiling like playground mates. Emefiele didn't mind stepping on people's back to make Buhari happy. Targeting the hawks that Buhari despised, he changed the colours of Naira notes but the new notes are nowhere to be seen. When the Finance Minister kicked, Buhari defended him. He made banks broke the agelong culture of customers getting back their money on demand. Innocent people suffered and businesses floundered. Unfortunately, the same Buhari whom he loved to impress didn't seem to stand up for him when 'the shylock' came calling for a pound of his flesh. Emefiele kowtowed before Northern oligarchs as though his life depended on that. Yes, they made sure his job was secured and it was but he served them like a slave. He flouted regulations and conventions to be in their good book. Unfortunately, the same oligarchs took cover in protection of their interests when the hawk came for the chick. Worthy of note is that Emefiele refused to wise up when Buhari didn't stop DSS from attempting to arrest him when he was the president. That was a red flag that foretold his current situation but he refused to take notice. Perhaps he was too power-intoxicated or may be he was simply trapped in the corridors of power. Used and dumped like a piece of trash at a lonely crossroad and with the people treating him like a smelly leper, Emefiele is surrounded by 'hyenas' warming up to devour him like a piece of soft flesh. Looking pale and hopeless, only God can save him from drowning in sorrows of being disappointed by the humans he trusted. |
