homerac7: ^^^ evidence to show say you no get sense:
Pidgin is a misspelling from those who had a bad command of English language, especially that word is suspected of being derived from the Chinese. It is a widespread knowledge that Chinese are very bad in English. Those who are proficient in English language would comfortably refer to pidgin as PIGEON. Finish and klaar.

Henry120: Fighter pilot, post a photo of what a coloured person looks like? I don't think I have seen a coloured person before.

I am been objective.
The link below will show you how coloured in South Africa look like;

souldust: @fighter "you no get sense" is pigin english. It means you are not intelligent/sensible etc.

The fact you mistook it for bad english shows that your knowledge isnt too vast and that you know nothing about the world outside your soweto, pretoria and cape whatever
Let me correct you chief. Pigeon English is spoken worldwide and is not something that is exclusive to Nigeria. Everybody who is not in good command of English would surely speak his/her English in a pigeon(dove)-like manner in relation to the region they come from.
CAMEROONPRIDE: What's with pigeon I thot it is pidgin? huh
Anyway there are many types of pidgin so pidgin is not spoken worldwide since it not only one language.
Nigerian have their pidgin, liberian got theirs etc ..
No chief, there is only one pigeon English, it is only that in Nigeria they misspell it. The correct spelling is PIGEON. It is a bad English that is mainly spoken by those who are not well educated. The pigeon is mostly used in combination with indigenous languages, but the use of this language is fading as most South Africans are becoming fluent in English everyday.

BEWARE!!! OF THE WRATH OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE FORCE

THE DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE BEFORE THE PARLIAMENT SAID WE HAVE NO MERCY FOR KILLING CHILD SOLDIERS, LOL!!!

SANDF is indeed not just a toy to play with. Just note that after our comrades were attacked on a deadly ambush by Seleka rebels in CAR we retaliated en mass until our enemy raised the white flag to beg with our forces in a plea to stop killing their child soldiers.

WE ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE EVEN IF WE ARE OUTNUMBERED.

This is the proof below.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) which is the biggest opposition party in South Africa noted the Killing of over 800 rebels in CAR after the ambush of SA soldiers. Read the full story below;

irrelevant stories... who asked you? go tell it to the fishes. undecided

Yes they will ...and they always will. Proving we have assurances and trust of our allies and neighbours due to good foreign policies based on mutual respect and sustainable partnership. Not Rambo-wanna-be-s who "jumped" into domestic fight with poor intelligence and understanding, only to be caught up and sent running in body home in body bags and with tail between legs.

Now you see that "you no get sense"? undecided
"YOU NO GET SENSE" is a bad English and I wonder who taught you that rotten English.

Let me put it to you that you are just wasting your energy trying to elaborate something that is straightforward. TOGO could manage to identify some weaknesses in Nigerian Navy to deal effectively with prevalence of piracy in Nigeria, that's why they offered to help. Is that too much of everyone to understand? You only help those that you see really need help. Do you think that TOGO would have offered to help if Nigeria would have been handling the situation successfully? The answer is a big NO.

homerac7: You no get sense. Ordinarily it wouldn't have mattered, but given the bias of you dolts, it needs proper clarification. Your futile intent is to paint a sordid impression of weak Nigeria being helped by lowly Togo. But you are too limited by your myopia that you still dont understand the CONTEXT of the HELP being talked about here. I will TEACH you since I have empirical evidence of deficiency of you people in English language comprehension;

You don't carry out a cross-border operation without the cooperation (HELP) of the landlord(s), otherwise you will get into trouble and be disgraced out just like SA in CAR. The report mentioned Operation Prosperity which is a "joint" naval operation on coast of Togo, (not Nigeria you dumbhead). In simpler grammar, Nigeria is helping Togo secure her coastline from pirates as Togo has no navy, so Togo MUST provide all necessary assistance/HELP to make it work out or else Nigeria backs out and leave Togo to face her problems. Use your common sense, how can Togo without a navy help Nigeria Navy deal with piracy in Nigerian waters? ...common, you get brain nah...! undecided

Nigeria also has joint naval military ops with Benin Republic, Ghana and Sao Tome & Principe. Joint Army ops with Cameroon, Niger, Chad and Benin Republic. In other words, Nigeria has joing military operation with all her next-door neighbours, Bight of Benin Neighbours and is building same with Gulf of Guinea neighbours.

I have taken time to lecture you on English language your "world class" schools failed to teach you and logical reasoning your proven-to-be-useless military schools failed to develop in you. More importantly, if only you have CAPACITY TO LEARN, I have given you a hint on Nigeria's regional military policy of partnership. You don't just barge into people home and form commando, afterall you people should now be wiser after CAR experience. There are deeper politics and subtle nuances that need be mastered above public display of shiny military weapons.

Now, I need you to be humble enough and show the discipline of a good air-man by thanking me properly for the FREE EDUCATION you just received. wink
Once more you are not making any sense. Why do you have to elongate this debate with unnecessary arguments. Firstly, let me put it to you that I am not an Afrikaans speaker, though I seem to be proficient in it, Afrikaans is not my mother's tongue. I am an English speaking coloured originally from Richards Bay, Kwazulu Natal before we relocated to Pretoria. English is my home language and am a mixed bred from the Malay and Indians who were brought to South Africa from Asia during the epoch of slave trade in the late 1700's.

Many Africans when they look at me think am an Indian, but surely am not one. Anyway, this is not relevant to discussion, but the fact remains. TOGO WILL HELP NIGERIA FIGHT PIRACY, finish and Klaar.

homerac7: Now read the full gist and note the bolded in order to aid your comprehension. I know it is written in English language and not Afrikaan, but try use common sense to comprehend.

If you still have difficulty in understanding after reading, then BEG me nicely enough and I MIGHT be favourable disposed to help you with the passage comprehension.

#so much for your world class education if it is dolts like you it churns out.
I don't see your bone of contention. The fact is TOGO will help, or should I say assist/aid Nigeria to fight piracy. Help/Assist/Aid is much of the same thing, I don't really see your point of argument.

Truly speaking, Piracy is becoming a bigger problem in Africas No:1 oil producer. The president of the giant of Africa must employ immediate measures to deal with the prevalence of these sea robbers or else, the much needed revenues will be taken away by these pirates.

Henry120: I took a lot of courage on my path to restrain myself from hauling insults at you.

Can you please point out to me were any nigerian wrote that we got AKASH SAM's in our inventory? We have stated time and again that it was "proposed", currently under "negotiations". We even provided many links quoting the indian high commissioner to buttress this point.

Or did your loss to SELEKA, leave all south africans with selective reasoning undecidedundecided
This is what the score was 800 Seleka rebels killed against only 14 SANDF members, then how do you conclude that we lost, or perhaps should I say that you expected our soldiers to have acted like Rambo in order to have survived that deadly ambush. Soldiers are not made of steal and hence when struck by bullets are supposed to die if the shot is fatal. We have seen many Nigerian Soldiers dying from a much similar ambush laid down to South African Soldiers in CAR. So according to your judgement we should all conclude that The Mighty Nigerian Army disgracefully lost to mere terrorists.

If then that is the case we may as well comfortably conclude that your men in defence miserably lost to the BH. That is easy as simple.

saengine: One month ago, soldiers from 5 Special Forces Regiment were caught in an ambush outside Bangui in the Central African Republic (CAR). So began the “Battle of Bangui”, which cost the lives of thirteen soldiers, all of whom served in the elite 1 Parachute Battalion. These soldiers fought well when the fighting began, killing an estimated 800 rebels, according to the terrible logic of battle, which is: kill or be killed. We extend our condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives.

http://www.da.org.za/newsroom.htm?action=view-news-item&id=12128

This comment is coming from the opposition party, the DA. They will say anything to talk bad about the current government, but even they know our troops fought well. 800 Seleka rebels killed. Well done to the brave soldiers. For me this is the final point we South Africans should make about CAR.

https://farm9.static.flickr.com/8440/8706039199_d05a43c3a1.jpg
My dear compatriot, one thing is that we do not beat our chest for killing over 800 rebels in CAR yet the likes of Agaugust are boasting about the killing of our valuable 14 comrades in arms. Numbers do not matter in SANDF and that's how I was taught the very first day I joined the SANDF.

I was taught how the few South African soldiers viciously fought over 12000 Communists Cuban soldiers yet they managed to contain them in Angola even before they reached the borders of Namibia. I know many comrades who fought in that border war under the colours of the ANC which was the alliance of the Cubans and many of them verbally confessed that SA military is not a toy to play with in the battlefield.

Do you even know that SA last resort was to retreat their soldiers in Angola and land the Hiroshima type Atomic bomb which would have killed all the Cubans and their Alliance including civilians, but that decision was hampered by the US.

Ofcourse, we cannot have all weapons that Nigeria have. We might not be interested in some of their inventory. The fact is we have more of modern weapons than Nigeria can ever have. This does not even need internet to prove, it is a well known fact that is known by the entire military analysts in the world.

Can you kindly tell us which of Denel developed weapons are not in service other than the budger (IFV) which is set to replace the RATTLE. Majority of those weapons are in service and have already been formally launched. Some have already been sold to foreign countries.

Henry120: You cannot proof that it is not in service in nigeria, neither can I prove that it is in service in nigeria.

What the article clearly states, quoting the ambassador is, "both countries are in negotiations". This is the fact that cannot be disputed.

The Roland is an "old" SAM, can you yourself compare it to modern SAM's? Obviously, there is no discussion here. Both systems are from a different time and class.

We did mention that nigeria was developing her very own system which is 2 times the range of the AKASH at 70km. We even provided pictures. Whether the system has entered into service is currently unknown.
There is no so called AKASH in Nigeria's military inventory. Why do we have to go from pillar to post in order to reach that conclusion. The only AKASH they have is bogus. Is that difficult to admit the truth? Hard luck gents.

saengine: This is an answer given by the defence committee regarding the number of pilots. This was in 2010.
But it doesn't matter if we post this, you will still say the information is false, so there is no point arguing with you. If you had the brain matter, you would notice that all the links you post about SA having 6 pilots all quote David Maynier. I told you that guy doesn't know what he is talking about, it is his job to make the defence force look bad because he is an opposition party member. He doesn't understand that many of our Gripen pilots are also instructors, they also work at air force HQ in Pretoria, they have many other roles in the air force. The total number of pilots who are qualified and able to fly SA Gripen jets is more than 6, much more.

http://www.politicsweb.co.za/politicsweb/view/politicsweb/en/page71654?oid=215199&sn=Detail&pid=71654

Mr P.J. Groenewald (FF Plus) to ask the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans:

1. (a) How many operational fighter pilots does the SA Air Force currently command, (b) what is the racial composition of this specified pilot corps, (c) how many learner fighter pilots are currently receiving training and (d) what is the racial composition of this specified group?

REPLY

1(a). 10 Gripen aircrew (8 Pilots and 2 Navigators) and 13 Hawk aircrew (13 Pilots)

(b). Gripen composition is 2 Black Male, 1 Indian Male, 1 White Female and 6 White Male and Hawk composition is 11 White Male and 2 Black Male.

(c). 21 aircrew are under training on Hawk (17 Pilot's and 4 Navigators).

(d). The composition of this group is 9 Black Male, 1 Indian Male, 1 Coloured Male, 9 White Male and 1 White Female

Issued by Parliament, December 13 2010

Are you happy with this answer? Or are you going to counter my argument with a link you've already posted. Also keep in mind that about 3 Gripen pilots have been trained a year since 2010. And some of the crew trained on the Hawks move onto the Gripen.
My dear compatriot you are indeed very skilled at handling debates, not just based on the fact that you are my fellow countryman. Many people fail to take into consideration the fact that not every combat pilot has a skill to command the technology of the latest new generation fighter jets. The typical example would be that of IT industry which is rapidly evolving at a faster rate and once a particular IT technician fails to keep up with the pace, his/her skills will be redundant for as far as IT industry is concerned. Fighter pilots would indeed require exceptional aptitude to manuevre the tech system of SAAB Gripen and that is surely not easy. The new generation fighters have proven ability to manuevre outdated SAM systems and any country engaging in war with country having such technology will surely have to upgrade their SAM system.

Even tomorrow when Nigeria manages to procure new generation fighters, it will still struggle for some few years to produce fully qualified new generation fighter pilots. It takes many years to nurture such a skill to any country.

It is just unfortunate that many of us here have never seen Gripens at practice. I have seen so many SA warplanes before, but none of them can compare to mighty SAAB Gripen. Be rest assured that bloody machine is very very very fast like a lightning and so dangerous. From my experience the only thing that can manage to bring that DRAGON down would surely be SAM's from the latest families.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 9:19am On Jun 01, 2013
DictatorZAR: Listen here u lying foolish Naija scamster claiming to work in the defense industry. Nigeria even by all web links haven't even got hold of the AKASH.

the main air defense in Nigeria is the Roland which is outdated compared what other African Nations like Algeria currently use. The S-300 is to date alongside the Umkhonto and Starstreak(High Velocity) the most sophisticated air defense systems not even in Africa but some of the best in the World.

The Umkhonto SAM is a 5th gen SAM compared to the Roland which is a 3rd gen SAM and a 1980 relic.

Now if you want to compare a S-300 and a Umkhonto or Starstreak to any of what is currently operational in Nigeria then its your problem.

Now if you are truly the so called US-military expert who consults with analysts, NOW LET YOUR TELL US WHICH SAM BETWEEN THE S-300 and the ROLAND IS THE BEST.

Nigeria don't even have a Single Anti-Ballistic- Missile-Warship in service yet you @Aguagust come and Spew such BULL.

Stop assuming you dealing with the average Naija chool Boy.
You are seconded. There are so many people who rely much on internet and hence live under misconception that they are some kind of military expects. If you have never been a soldier and thereafter never experienced the test of weapons live, you would surely never understand. Some even feel so heightened that they can even offer their advices about war art and strategy to a fully-fledged force with Lieutenant-Generals, admirals and full General as Head like SANDF. We are a force with honour and wouldn't take some unprofessional and half baked expect advices from anyone, let alone the fact that such people do not have credentials and military background in their life history.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 11:03pm On May 31, 2013
agaugust: @everybody, I think south Africa has a new opportunity to redeem its military image now they want to attack M23 rebels in Congo DRC and many other countries armies will be sending soldiers to support south African army in this new war, Tanzania, Malawi, and multinational forces of SADC Brigade (I cannot remember the full list sorry) are helping this time so that south Africa will not be alone, but they will lead the attack. Tanzania has good soldiers too and will be very helpful to south Africa.

Congo DRC desperately needs help...the people are suffering in the land of riches !
This is one battle that we will win without any help from anyone. This time around we are going to war and not to train some mutinous soldiers who will later connive with rebels giving them information about our daily activities like in CAR. Don't worry this one we will show the world that we are not just a park to walk on. We will dedicate this war to our fallen comrades whom we lost in a deadly ambush connived by those we offered training and trusted.

Henry120: Bro, you are not making any sense. Or are advancing Seleka rebels now civilians? SAAF were not going to use the jets on civilians, rather on enemy forces.

Your execuse about the use of jets been "costly", "regrettable consequences" makes absolutely no sense.

They are fighter planes, not childrens toys or sitting room decorations.

You know what, we've over-flogged this issue, no point going in circles over and over.
If you were a soldier you would have understood. Rebels in many times during attacks they use civilians as their cover. They will never challenge you in an open battle and rather would take refuge in villages and cities, thus making Air attacks useless.

Did you ever ask yourself why so many civilians are killed in Nigeria during BH raids because many of them are caught in the cross fire, but that is the situation that we do not want. Raids were civilians are killed in numbers are considered unsuccessful and uncalled for.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 6:28pm On May 31, 2013
Henry120: Isn't it silly? SAAF had 4 gripens and attack helos on the ground, while comrades were pinned down by seleka rebels? What then were the SAAB's doing in zambia, because they weren't there to support SANDF troops in CAR?
Airforce do not just launch Airstrikes because they are very costly with regrettable consequences. They cause major destructions with civilians dying in between. One cannot aford to launch such major attack unless is for a last resort. Do you even know how dangerous are those machines boss, just only few of them can turn the whole CAR upside down.

Henry120: You don't want to compare the negative local media coverage we have right here in nigeria to that of south africa. The media is nigeria is worse than what you have in RSA. Our president is the world's "most criticised leader", if the president acts he is dammed, if he doesn't act he is dammed. This is just to show how both free and negative the media is in nigeria.

So your constant ramblings about the negative media coverage the ANC gets in your country is stale and out-dated.

Your country has better fighter jets than nigeria, no doubt. However it is preposterous for you or any other south african on this thread to claim that your entire air-force (fighter jets, transport planes and helos) is larger or better than that of nigeria. NO, that's a big fat lie.

Some of Our commercial pilots train in south africa, but fighter pilots, I beg to differ.

*on the issue of advanced fighter pilots, I'd agree with you since we do not have a 4 gen. Fighter jets

However that's about to change, we have already signed contracts for the delivery of 12 hongdu L-15 falcon light attack/trainer jets

our NAF is seriously considering going for the JF-17 thunder block II jets. The nigerian airforce chief visited pakistan in december of 2012, the pakistani air chief was also in nigeria 2 weeks back for a 5 day official visit.

Like my compatriot augugust said earlier the block II is on the same par as the SAAB gripen which south africa flies.
Sorry, sir that had nothing to do with comparison of negative media coverage in both countries. I was unaware that Nigeria also suffers at the hands of the media, same as SA.

Name one country that defeated us, if you want to resort to CAR saga, then you are lost because soldiers are ambushed everytime even Nigerian soldiers were ambushed recently escorting police and several of them were killed. Should we however conclude that Nigerian Army was defeated, if that is the case then I shame your education.

Nigerian airforce is bigger than South african airforce and Nigerian pilots are more talented than South african pilots. Any trining you people have, we have a much more difficult one. we even send our pilots to many pilot schools abroad. And for the lies you told, I don't have the tile to go through your posts right now, but many other people here can remember them. And hopefully someone will expose you again.
And I can claim things just like you with no proof:
South african air force is a disgrace, you guys don't have enough pilots for your aircrasfts and not enough to even consider you airforce airworhty. The situation is so bad that you couldn't even deploy pilots to help your guys in CAR. And that is a fact!
Why is it that when you guyz start to lose argument, then you will start to take refuge on CAR saga? Pilots do not just fly as they please, the skies above countries can never be intruded whichever way you like. You write like a journalist who knows nothing about military and yet tries to prove a point.

patriot4: That is the problem, I do not trust you, because we caught you lying here quite a few times.
And you provide absolutely no proof of what you are saying.
Instead of providing proof, you are asking me to provide proof of the opposit.
You are nothing but a filthy liar. If you don't have proof then politely keep your big mouth shot.
Can you show me one post where I lied. Beside, there is no argument about it, your combat pilots cannot be classified as advanced trained fighter pilot, not even one of them can be classified as one.

patriot4: Look, we have caught you telling a lot of lies on this forum and yet you want us to believe you without any doubt !
No I am sorry. First of all there is no way you would know about the training of Nigerian pilots.
And you have absolutely no source to prove what you are saying.
Trust me, this is the truth and there is no secret about it. Prove me wrong if you can and I can even further this assertion before your Airforce Commanders and surely there is no even a single one of them who will have information at disposal to prove me wrong.

To be more exact, not every driver is an advanced driver. Drivers have to go for further training in order to qualify as advanced drivers. In the aviation industry the same applies, not every combat pilot is a qualified advanced fighter pilot. SA used to boast 91 of this finest before 80 of them resigned due to what they called Affirmative Action policies of the ruling party (ANC). Currently there are about 90 cadet fighter pilots on training in Langebaan (WC) majority of whom are blacks, Indians and coloureds and few whites. Their training began as at 2011 and this group are being groomed to the level of advanced fighter pilots.

Do you know that Nigeria does not have even a single new generation qualified advanced fighter pilot? in that case they will be forced to utilise the services of mercenary pilots. I am sorry to reveal that information. It is only Egypt, Ethiopia and SA who boast about such pilots.
