ndcide:My brother our problem is sentiment and people just like to politicize everything. This subsidy of a thing ought to have been removed since 2012, but it was very unfortunate that some people played politics with it even when they know the decision to remove it was a step in the right direction. I don't know, corruption might be one of those factors that people thought it was wrong to remove the subsidy in 2012, but it shouldn't have mattered as long as the thing was removed. If the people that criticised subsidy removal then were any wiser, they would have known that removing the subsidy was another way of tackling corruption in the oil sector I agree with everything you said up there. It is just unfortunate that Nigerians especially our elites will choose to politicize everything and bring sentiments into it. |
omenka:This comment kind of cracked me up. What a hilarious comment. I believe even buhari will laugh his 32 teeth off if he can possibly come across this comment |
AdamsBashforth:Stop mentioning segregation here my friend because begging is bad even in islam. Allah{swt} gave you a brain, two hands, two legs, two eyes, a mouth and everything. So just because you have one or two deformities on your creation doesn't warrant you to carry plate and be begging around. It is bad and sends a negative image of Islam to people who don't even know begging is bad even in islam. Please we are enlightened, so I don't know why anyone will support this embarrassing thing called begging. It doesn't even matter if they beggars are Nigerians or not, they should be sent back to wherever they come from. If you know you don't have the means of taking care of children, don't bring them into the world to be beggars. This is as simple as ABC |
This is actually the right time to deregulate the downstream oil sector. What's the essence of paying exuberant subsidy to the major oil marketers when the price of oil has crashed in the market? Though I still think the 145 naira per litre is kind of too much{ maybe 120/115 naira per litre is ok and somehow understandable}, but the subsidy removal timing is spot on and every reasonable Nigerian should support it. |
People should allow el-rufai work please. These unnecessary distractions are not needed now. And why is everybody protesting in Nigeria? I hope the Kaduna state government will use this opportunity to roundup all these protesting beggars and take them back to their villages or to wherever they come from |
ThundrCork:Sophisticated weapons my foot. You don't need any sophisticated weapon to blow up some pipelines. Well maybe that's the lie they told you people. But I tell you my friend, the avengers will be rounded up in the coming days. |
Godgay:Funny. I only need God to survive my friend. The avengers will be dealt with very soon. The person they want to blackmail isn't the kind of person that will entertain their sillyness and I believe you also know that |
A letter too long and boring. Be brave NDA and come out. Why are you hiding behind some laptop and dishing out unreadable balderdash. Well the military will fish you out in a couple of days to come, this I'm very sure of. You think if the military don't find you in some couple of days to come, they won't arrest your family members and your beloved ones? Or it is that you guys are family-less or what? The creek you are hiding in might be a difficult terrain and all that, but you guys shouldn't forget that the creek is also very small in size. In some couple of days to come, we the spectators will see who will break between you and the Nigeria military |
Funny I don't know what I did wrong that anti-spambot keeps banning me every one hour. Cc: mynd44, lalasticlala please you guys should look into that. |
I don't why people would just choose to be mischievous. Why would anybody be saying that the president should deal with the rampaging herdsmen first before he go after the Niger Delta avengers or militants when we all know that the president has already given the military a go-ahead to crackdown on herdsmen. For the doubting Thomases, these are links that confirmed that President buhari has given such orders since you all have been saying otherwise. So please people should stop saying that the President is pampering the herdsmen while using the stick approach on militants because that kind of talk oozes with ignorance all over it. The federal government shouldn't negotiate with any militants, rather they should use all their military might to crush the ragtag militants. No group should be allowed to hold the country to ransom again |
mile12crises:Nigeria producing zero megawatt doesn't affect me in anyway. And yes Nigerians buying PMS at the high rate of $1 per litre don't affect me. Like I said before, the average Nigerian artisans and small medium income earners are my concern. I feel they don't deserve these pipelines vandalism and all that. |
cktheluckyman:Guy are you seriously saying this or is this some kind of joke. Where and when did I urge the military to go on a killing spree in the Creeks? Is it that you guys don't understand the difference between militants and civilians or you guys just want to be mischievous as usual. This type of blind accusation is very annoying to say the very least |
cktheluckyman:Go and get your facts right my friend. Late president yar'adua granted amnesty to the militants. Obasanjo never gave them amnesty even though he wickedly killed innocent Nigerians at UDI in his crazy search for the militants. Funny, why should I do the fighting? I'm not a uniform man neither am I indirectly or directly affected by the militants silliness. I'm just concerned for the average Nigerian who will be affected in one way or another by these militants silliness |
olaitoro:Hey what's wrong with you young man? I hate it when people like you quote me ignorantly. Isn't this topic about militants killing Nigeria soldiers? When did i ever say the soldiers should go on a killing spree in the SS just because they lost three of their soldiers? Didn't you see the topic before you ignorantly misquote me or it is that you don't understand the difference between militants and law abiding civilians. What's wrong with you again man? You better hold your thumb there and use your cranium when next you want to quote me. |
rapistbuhari:Nothing happened during obasanjo's tenure when asari was arrested, in fact it took the powers that would be to plead with obasanjo to release asari. So stop lying here. And as for your last sentence, I don't know what you are talking about. Who are your people and who are the people that will be liberated when Nigeria soldiers die? I don't get you please |
rapistbuhari:Don't come here and start crying genocide when the military unleash its full might on these militants. They killed 3 soldiers and you are happy. Pathetic. The funny thing is that these militants have killed whatever sympathy people had for them before. They have touched the lion's tail and whatever that befalls them, they should blame themselves. I think the resurgence of these militants is even a blessing in disguise. The time to crush them is now or never. The present administration understands this. |
The simple truth is that buhari can't give the secessionists their Biafra nation and at the same time, buhari doesn't have the powers to stop Biafra. I'm very sure if buhari wakes up tomorrow and say; OK I want the southeasters to have their independent nation{Biafra}, we will see the same people that are crying for biafra accusing him of hating the easterners, and how he never liked them. What am saying is; buhari can't give neither can he stop Biafra, but the only people that can give themselves Biafra are the easterners{ I mean every Igbo person especially their elites}. The question still remains; Are the Igbos{elites} ready to rise up above what they think Nigeria will give them and fight for their own separate nation? |
DIKEnaWAR:To be fair to the previous administration, I will say they tried in their own little way to turn things around in Nigeria especially in the automobile sector. I don't think any of the past governments/regimes can beat that particular feat. Jonathan really tried there. That being said, we won't excuse the monumental corruption that was going on in that administration and I believe that was the major reason they lost the election. There is no way on this planet earth that a strong, viable and reliable economy can be built if corruption exists. Whether mono, micro, macro or whatever kind of economy can never achieved its height when there is gross corruption in the land. The previous administration wanted to lay their foundations on the blocks of corruption which isn't possible. They did one or two things but at the end corruption overshadowed all their efforts. And I think that was a mistake this present administration is trying to avoid. Your last paragraph, I totally agree with that. Producing what we need and want is a step in the right direction for our developing economy. That was how China did it and that's what Indonesia is doing. I mean we have the brains, labour, environment, materials etc to produce our own things |
Splinz:Don't get me wrong please. Pat utomi might be a brain box when an issue has something to do with his area of knowledge and all that. But that man knows nothing about complex and complicated basic economy like ours. I heard him talk and I read one or two of his journals. Believe me the man is all big-grammers and catchy phrases, but when he speaks economics, you begin to wonder if he was a juvenile in a grown man's body. Aside from this his flaw I mentioned, I have absolutely nothing against him. He is an erudite |
DIKEnaWAR:Tinubu attacked kachikwu,Tinubu attacked buhari indirectly and the other blah blah blah things you said, seriously my friend I don't entertain neither do I engage in that kind of archaically beer parlour gossips or should I call it rumours. We are talking economics here and you indirectly asked me a nice question in your last paragraph. I think for the past 50yrs or so, nigeria has been lazily running an outdated mono economy which has led to cries like marginalization, regionalism, insurgency, militants and a host of others. Now for the first time we have a government that wants to run a macro economy and is kind of serious about it. To me this is a plus because some of the problems bedeviling Nigeria will be solved. You don't need economics pundits to tell you that the step been taken by this present administration will reduce some of our problems, and besides a macro economy in a country like Nigeria is just like practicing regionalism or true-federalism(whatever it means) as some of you call it. But what I think we should be wary of is the evil monster called corruption that might come and hijacked everything. |
ideykwum:There is no trace of any medievalism in what he wrote up there. Stalin till date has proferr solutions to many economics problem that many people failed to do |
In one sentence he said he wrote APC's manisfesto for them and in another sentence he criticised the APC's "medieval manisfesto". Even a juvenile knows that any new government come with their economic blueprint. Obama did it when he came onboard, David Cameron isn't left out either. The problem with pessimistic personalities like this respected professor is that they believe so much in western Theologue, while forgetting that the Africa economic environs is entirely different. If I should ask a person like utomi what he think will work best for our developing economy, you will hear him calling America, Germany or UK. These set of people don't understand the African economy to the best of my knowledge. I read a book about macro economics which was written by a person like utomi, gosh I just had to drop the book because the writer just wrote hogwash and was making baseless comparisons. He didn't understood the simple basic economics of African nations. I don't just know why but when it comes to economy matter, I don't take the likes of utomi any serious. |
asha80 my friend. I told you tompolo was behind the recent pipelines vandalism and you thought I was lying |
Buhari really disappointed me with the way and manner he took side in this Fulani/farmers saga. He is a Fulani man and as a Fulani man himself I thought he will know better. Didn't he{buhari} know that Fulani herdsmen are gruesomely killed in Nigeria and other parts of Africa without anybody saying jack about it? Why is he trying so hard to be politically correct? Buhari just because you don't want the world to see you as a bias leader doesn't mean you should abandoned the plight of your people. |
Well I guess I have to get my own placard and stage a personal protest against the avengers |
TheFreeOne:Well both the avengers and the rampaging herdsmen should be dealt with decisively |
