And how many times are they going to do that? When they first came into power, people were screaming that they should declare their assets, they did that. And now you people are saying they should declare it "publicly". So what's then the essence of declaring their assets in the first place? Is not like they don't have any work to do in asorock aside from declaring their assets. |
Funny list. Well maybe the bride-2-be is worth it. That number 41 though; paracetamol. Seriously!!! |
Niger Delta militants Simon Utebor, Yenagoa Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have killed three suspected Niger Delta militants in Bayelsa State during a gun duel. It was learnt that in the shootout, which reportedly happened on Saturday, two operatives of the corps sustained gunshot wounds. It was further learnt that during the incident which took place along Snake Creeks in the Nembe area of the state, many of the suspected hoodlums, who reportedly attacked the armed civil defenders, were said to have fled with gunshot injuries. Security personnel have recently become the targets of militants and sea pirates in the region, leading to the death of no fewer than 10 security agents in the last one month. Confirming the latest attack, the Commandant, NSCDC, Bayelsa State Command, Mr. Desmond Agu, noted that his men were on patrol when they came under fire from the suspected militants. Agu stated, “The NSCDC personnel, while on patrol along the Snake Creek within Nembe Creeks, came under heavy attack from the criminals operating along that area. After the ensuing gunbattle, three of the assailants were killed while the rest escaped with gunshot injuries. ‘’Two NSCDC personnel sustained minor gunshot injuries but have been treated and discharged from the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.” On the security threats posed by the recent upsurge in militancy and fears that oil production in the region might end if the attacks continued, Agu stated that the NSCDC and other security agencies were working assiduously to ensure that the threats were minimised. He added, “The militants cannot take over the creeks because that’s not possible. The nation belongs to all of us. We are talking about protecting Nigeria’s critical assets. We will make sure that in collaboration with the other agencies, the pipelines and other assets are protected. ‘’We are ensuring that this thing is minimised so that Nigeria will enjoy peace. Nigeria depends largely on oil. On the destruction of pipelines, we are at red alert.” He said the corps recently arrested one Tama Emmanuel and two others along Azuzuama for masterminding the destruction of an Agip flowline at Ogbounbiri-Tebidaba. According to the Commandant, a coordinated massive operation at an illegal bunkering point at Otuegwe 2, Ogbia Forest, also led to the destruction of the site and arrest of 15 vandals. “Those that are determined to make sure we do not sleep, let them look for something else to do. Nothing is in the pipelines except destruction and pollution. Right now, there’s no fish and no farm. They blow pipelines and blame everybody else,” he said. Agu said the NSCDC would not be deterred by the activities of the militants “because Nigeria is bigger than few individuals.” He added, “The police, soldiers and Navy are working together. Their attacks will not intimidate us. As a small child, it was illegal to possess arms, even dane guns, now you have sophisticated weapons everywhere.’’ He commended the Federal Government for supporting the corps, but added that “like Oliver Twist, it’s never enough.’’ Agu also listed the arrest of one ‘General’ Yere, wanted for vandalising oil facilities in Pirigbene, Southern Ijaw; the destruction of over 400 illegal refineries and repelling of several kidnap attempts by kidnappers and sea pirates attempting to invade communities in Sagbama as some of the successes the security agency had recorded recently. http://www.punchng.com/bayelsa-nscdc-kills-three-militants/

Dear united kingdom, buhari will never negotiate with any militants rather he will use military might and crush whatever rebellious group that want to rebel against the FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA The biggest mistake the Nigeria government made was negotiating with this riffraffs in the first place. Instead of the state to brutally deal with them when they{militants} started their madness, the FG when and gave them money and power. Which kind of government does that? You gave them money, they use some for their upkeep and the rest the use them in buying weapons to blackmail you again. Why didn't the government negotiate with boko haram or "Fulani herdsmen"? So just because these ones said the oil is found in their lands, the government are expected to automatically negotiate with them right? If the government should negotiate with these riffraffs, then the government have to negotiate with boko haram or any rebellious group in the country. Enough is Enough. No group should be allowed to hold the country at ransom again. |
omenka:The lad has been mentioning my moniker together with yours, saying that I'm this or that. I tried all my possible best to ignore him but the lad won't just stop mentioning my moniker. I wanted to even report him to the admins but I didn't just know how I'm to go about that. Well thanks for the advice, henceforth I will just be ignoring the lad |
MasterofNL:Why do think I'm him? Is it because I stand for what is right and despite what is wrong? Well you can choose to believe whatever you like, Is a free world after all. This will be the last time I will respond to you. Good day |
MasterofNL:Dude I'm not omenka. I have been on this forum since 2012, so honestly i dont know what you are talking about |
Cameron is a loudmouthed person with condescending attitude{infact I think all Brits have this condescending attitude in them}. You just need to hear how they{Brits} speak about Americans/America and their fellow Europeans in that their usual condescending tune. I don't know, but an average Brit sees himself as superior to any other being on this planet earth. Well maybe is because of the "english language" factor. It just doesn't matter to them if you are Hispanic, Caucasian, white or black, the average Brit will have one or more condescending opinion about you or where you come from. At a time, even queen Elizabeth was caught slamming the Chinese officials by calling them rude. Funny. People shouldn't bother about what Cameron said or didn't say because that's how the Brits are and I don't think they will ever change even though they{Brits} are relatively nice people |
When did IMF granted Nigeria loan of $3billion? Funny. When did IMF even have that power to determine a country's VAT increment or decrement? Is the IMF our new CBN now? Well the naira hasn't been devalued according to CBN, so wherever you posted up there is meaningless and doesn't hold any water |
Volksfuhrer:Lagos state was the federal capital before babangida moved the capital to Abuja. Nevertheless this was not even my reason for quoting the first guy, but he tried to bring some silly ethnic superiority in the discuss and that's why I had to reply him that way |
YorubaHighness:My friend stop saying trash here. Take away Lagos state{which btw was even a federal capital and was made what it is today by every Nigerian} and Yoruba nation will be left with nothing. The original poster wrote a nice article up there and you just decided to bring some ethnic superiority into the discuss. I don't just know what is the problem of some people honestly |
ugoogift:Just because they happened to be public servants doesn't give sahara the impetuous to published their "private numbers" to the public. They were called to serve and it not like they forced themselves on the ministerial job. Can sahara reporters try this unethical silliness in the USA? Of course they can't. |
What is wrong with this sahara reporters? That boy that called himself sowere or whatever is crossing the line. These are the ministers of the federal republic. Didn't it occur to this sahara guys that criminal elements will clone these numbers and use them in defrauding people? Why won't this sahara reporters just be responsible for once? Why are they always acting like touts? There was even one of them that embarrassed the president of Zimbabwe at a time. I think the Nigeria government needs to take some drastic action against these sahara guys. Freedom of information and expression is not madness for God's sake |
hausameat:Yeah there is hardship in the land. But we just have to be hopeful that things will get better for good and you will finally be able to buy that one thing you want I.e toy gun |
cckris:So the downstream oil sector that was deregulated some days ago was on paper? Even the TSA is on paper? My friend your comments are that of a smart person even though you might be a bigot, so play smart and stop commenting ignorantly |
Chimighty007:A confused government won't introduce TSA, A confused government won't make its budget a zero budgeted one, A confused government won't deregulate its oil sector, A confused government won't be able to make China to pump $6billion into its economy, A confused government won't be able to bail out state governments, A confused government won't be able to reach 5000 megawatts of power generation in some few months{though some internal factor and sabotage has made our power generation dropped below 5000}, A confused government won't have be able technically defeat boko haram, etc. I didnt vote for buhari nor jonathan, but trust me, i believe this government is getting its priority right my friend. |
cckris:A wise man from the east once told me that if I live in a glass house I shouldn't throw stones. I will leave you with this wise words my friend |
cckris:I don't have any problem with regionalism or any of that such things but it just disgusts me when I see learned and educated people hiding behind some silly banner of "economy freedom" to throw shades at people. Besides, implementing regionalism is not even a catalyst for any speedy economy growth of a nation. Some African nations practice it and their story hasn't changed till date |
cckris:Your comment up here have nothing to do with the subject of discuss here so don't try to digress or bring some ethnic/religion colouration into it. We are discussing economy here not region, tribe nor religion. You came here telling people that buhari wants to control the price of everything which if I still remember my basic economics, is kind of impossible. I tackled you with a superior argument which was the fact and honest truth. You then suddenly decided to bring ethnicity into the subject matter. My friend you have scored an own goal and have exposed yourself as a bigot. |
cckris:My friend what are you saying? That's my number problem with most of you commentators on this forum, you just drop your comments irrationally. Why don't you tell the eastern governors to stop collecting monthly allocations from the central government if you think they can survive without it. Some of you are just annoying to be honest |
cckris:Nobody is controlling any price my friend. If you don't know that drop in the price of oil in the international market is the major reason why every commodity's price skyrocketed then you must obviously be living in one saturated planet. Nigeria is a what my friend? Well Nigeria is a mono economy and also an importing nation, we virtually import everything from pencil to cars. We have relied on oil for so long without diversity our economy and that's why everybody is feeling the heat when the price of oil crashed. And this unfortunate event is not only synonymous to Nigeria but also to every oil exporting country like Angola, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Russia, etc. We should even be more grateful to God that our own recessive situation came with a handkerchief to wipe our tears at the end of the day. Venezuela will be praying vehemently to God to put them in our situation now so as Angola, Qatar etc. |
I hope and pray every Nigerian irrespective of his/her tribe, religion, social status and political affiliation will feel the positive impact of this budget in his/her life. Ameen May God strengthen us and help us through every difficult situation that we may find ourselves |
fx45:You also don't know what the Nigeria army can or can't do so let us just leave it there |
GuiltySpark343:So the northern governors are the ones squandering the allocations of the Niger delta governors? So the northern governors are the ones wasting the 13% derivation funds of the Niger/delta governors? So the northern governors are the ones holding your governors on the ground? Let's not even talk about the NDDC. Seriously your comments are very childish and I just hope I have not been wasting my time with a juvenile. |
GuiltySpark343:And how much of tompolo's billions have you seen? |
hardcorevin:The militants should be dealt with just as boko haram are currently feeling the heat. Nigeria is tired of little boys with ak47s holding it to ransom |
frisky2good:[I bet you want to insult me right. Well go ahead and do that and see if I don't report you |
pchukwudi:Didn't you hear when the petroleum minister said the downstream sector has been deregulated? How will you say subsidy is still on when ipman, major marketers have all confirmed that subsidy has been removed? Ok let's even assume your allegations are true, but do you think the fixed price of PMS will be 145 and that of diesel and kerosene will still remain the same if actually the government didn't remove the subsidy and just decided to fix the price of PMS as you alleged? Please not everything should be politics and sentiments |
moonnstar:My sister I'm a Muslim and if I tell you I don't feel embarrassed by these beggars roaming around in the streets, causing unnecessary traffic deadlock and endangering their own lives, then I might be lying to you |
