'', said the group’s spokesman Abul Qaqa in a conference call with reporters.'' Just wondering, can't this conference CALL be used as a means of tracking the new(?) Abul Qaqa !!!Nigerian Government, GET SERIOUS. |
For those coming to Delta, camp is at Iselle-uku. From Lagos & southwest generally, plus Benin, just enter either Asaba bus (Delta line recommended) or Onitsha bus & alight at Iselle Uku junction. The bike guys'll start hassling you once you get down. You cross the express & take a bike. Pre- January price was 50 naira, even tho some people paid 100 naira. So now, the price shldnt be more than N70 or N80. Tho the bike guys may attempt to xploit you & tell you N150 or N200. Wise up ![]() |
euromilion:You have a point, but other new model cars within d Jetta (main ''culprit'') class such as the Nissan Sunny, Toyota Corolla, e.t.c dont seem to follow the same trend, tho it appears some Honda Civic owners are also eager to dump them. Perhaps they get easily bored with the cars :/ |
Lol. I graduated from LASU sciences last year with a CGPA of 3.48, even when i calculated 3.50. My HOD refused to allow me see the final computation of the results after we had made corrections. But hey, i've moved on, didnt really feel so bad sef for the simple reason that nothing will stop me from applying for any job that specifically states 2 :1 as d miminum requirement. & I firmly believe my future cannot & will not be bleak, neither will my success be delayed just coz i graduated with a 3:48 2:2. Infact, it could be hastened sef coz now, i kno there's no relaxing, or chilling. Na to dey package myself properly remain. A well written CV, professional courses/qualificatns, proper ''packaging'' e.t.c. & most importantly, divine intervention is just as important as making a 2:1 as well. & also, a friend of mine had with a 3.496 had it rounded up (down) to 3.49 by anoda dept in dt same sciences. I pray by some ''mistake'' or woteva, it ends up bein rounded up to 3.50 but if doesnt, he/she/you should not be devastated. Your success cannot & will never be determined by ur undergrad CGPA, especially with a 3.49:Cheers. |
Auto section Becomrich/Musiwa. Very entertaining thread. OP, i only hope this ''craze'' u r displayin here by way of ur query & ur responses, is only limited to NL. Coz if this how u ask questions or react to issues in ''real life'', then, Goodluck ![]() |

I sincerely apologise to anyone who maay feel offended by this thread especially the dealers advertising these cars here on NL. But this is an auto section where we should educate ourselves about cars, which also includes problems we may experience with any brand of car & most importantly, ways to prevent them & troubleshoot on our own without having to resort to the many incompetent mechanics here in naija. So, its quite possible that both potential buyers, current owners & even dealers may benefit. Thanks. |
Ok. Can anyone profer an explanation as to why we have many 'naija used' of the above cars (2006-2009 model especially) on sale on nairaland? Are they problematic?? Or it's just a coincidence that many people want to ''upgrade'' & hence wish to sell these cars? :/ I personally love the simple, yet not too simple interior & luvly exterior of these cars especially the passat. & hey, they r volks brands, so they r cars i would expectowners to hold on to for a long time. Its quite ''insulting'' to see a clean naija used 2008 jetta going for the same price as a toks 2003 corrola. So house, any user experience or general comments about these cars? |
@Topic, babyboy is a really gud car, just take proper care of your gear & like a previous poster said, go with a very competent & trustworthy mechanic if you want to buy a naija used one. Sorry to go off topic a little bit. Is dere also an explanation for the many naija used Volkswagen Passat & Jetta cars (particularly model years 2006-2008) on sale here on nairaland ? Any user experience?? |
Nchara:Per litre or per gallon? @Post: i'll post this line I got from twitter; '' The govt is asking us to put more water into a basket (the FG's purse) without plugging the holes first''. Looking for the ''holes''? check the budget figures. |
Lol @ replies. This thread was really intended to be satirical. But really, if the govt had put in place bicycle lanes on some roads intra city, d idea of riding a bicycle to work, say, a 30 minute ride, may not sound so unagreeable or unsafe either. I understand that such lanes exist in some advanced countries, no? |
Hmmm, lets see, 2001/2002 Honda Accord: Beautiful car interior & exterior, especially if you get the EX trim with leather . Generally trouble-free engine maintenance wise except of course, the GEARBOX. It is very well known that the 1998-2003 Honda Accords have gearbox issues especially the V6 engine powered models. So, the I4 (4 cylinder) Accords r still a bit relatively 'safe' from these issues. Mazda 626 2001/2002 : Too long and bulky for my liking. The car is beautiful in its own way sha, especially if you get those with the factory fitted alloy wheels (not rims with covers pls). But generally, I dont think its as beautiful, in and out as the accord. And also, a mechanic has once told that the engines are quite sensitive & could be very problematic sometimes. However, a friend used the car, (4 cylinder engined model tho) for over 2 years without any serious issues before he sold it to get a 2001 Camry. Then, i haven't really heard or viewed any complaints about the gearbox. My Verdict: If it were me, I'll go for the Naija used Babyboy BUT it must be after a TRUSTWORTHY mechanic has certified the engine & especially the gearbox as fit for use. Then after my purchase, i'll take special care of the gearbox by using the correct ATF, draining when due, proper & careful driving habits (e.g., shifting the gear to Neutral instead of leaving it on Drive for a long time especially while in traffic e.t.c. ). & there r very rare manual gear 'american specs' out dere. Lucky u if u find any. Tho u'll likely get a manual if u r going for a babyboy that was bought brand new in naija (somethin i'll advise against coz a car wey don use 10 yrs for naija roads, careful abeg). Goodluck to u on ur decision making & please update the thread after ur purchase. Cheers. |
It appears we may soon need Bicycle dealers here on the Autos section. Pre-order people, cotonou people & naija used dealers, business don come o. ![]() Happy new year ![]() What are the best brands to buy sef? |

Any relevant info on the above topic please? Addresses, phone numbers, websites Thanks |
This is a very unfortunate incident, Even tho i sense a little bit of sensationalism in the report. But the so-called muslim youths who carried out the attack have a heap on sin on their heads. Muslims are supposed to be tolerant & should NEVER resrt to violence except in self defence. And for those who may see this as an opportunity (there are soo many these days anywy, thanks to BH) to take a swipe at Islam or Prophet Muhammad (SAW), please be informed that during the time of the Prophet, there are many instances where unbelievers(i mean idol wprshippers proper sef) attacked the prophet physically and verbally. Yet, the calm response of the Prophet to these attacks made many of them to eventually accept Islam. E.g. During the time of the Prophet, an unbeliever came and URINATED right beside the mosque ostensibly to provoke the muslims while the Prophet and his companions were inside (remember that in those days, many public ''buildings'' were more or less without walls, especially in hot Arabia). The Companions asked the Prophet what they should do, and the Prophet asked them to call the man & tell him politely that this is a mosque and his action was uncalled for. The unbeliever was surprised at this reaction and immediately accepted Islam. Another example was that of a woman who made it a point of duty every morning to place sharp objects on the path the Prophet used to take to the mosque, and rain abuses on him as he and his companions passed by. One day, she wasnt there and the sharp objects were not there. The next day, the same thing happened. The Prophet inquired after her and was told that she was ill. He made further enquiries at to her address, and went with his companions to visit her and pray for her. Needless to say, after she got better, she accepted Islam wholeheartedly. I wonder what present day muslims (who claim to love the Prophet & Islam more than anything) would have done in the instances above and many more like them. The major attribute which the Prophet used to spread the message of Islam was his excellent character towards muslims and non-muslims. & we are expected and required to emulate these actions of the Prophet. Therefore, Islam stands for peace, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) stood for peace, with his message of Islam (its not a coincidence that Islam does indeed mean peace) but its unfortunate that many of his followers have turned his teachings upside down, thereby building a nest to lay and hatch their eggs of violence. |
Please, could you help with this VIN. 1FTRW08W91KE00143 . Thanx a lot. |
so he also went with 120 delegates last year ? Anywy, 22 million people apparebtly voted for him afterwards, despite seeing the danger signs. Now this year, its 120 again. Yet he says id fuel subsidy isnt removed, the economy will collapse. Ok o, Naija, lets go dere. GEJ, ma jaye ori e. Carry go sir But remember the promises you made to the people. Wasting our money like this wasnt part of them. Proposing 7 years single term wasnt part of them. Removing fuel subsidy wasnt part of them. |
ifffffy:Sorry, but Islam is NOT evil. Like someone up there rightly pointed out, if shariah law was in place, the killers themselves will be killed. Islam doesn't support the killing of innocents. Even in warfare, the muskims r not supposed to harm the innocent men who r not at the battlefront, not to talk of women and children. If you know little about Islam, maybe its better you ask questions (which would probably have been answered on many threads here on NL), rather than make not nice comments. And if i ask you now, you'll claim to be a christian who isn't guilty of religious intolerance. Oh, and for the umpteenth time, BOKO HARAM IS (most probably) POLITICAL. It soo painfully obvious. Even the person killed above is an Alhaji. May God guide them to see the light and stop these killings. |
It is because of foolish Presidents like this man, and other African leaders of other oil rich nations, e.g. Angola & Nigeria, that some people will continue to see Ghadaffi as a hero who did very well for his people, effectively managed his country's resources, but well, unfortunately, stayed too long & caused sleepless nights for some powerful people in the West. |
