Not defending the poster o, but from wot i see, this is a 2011 kia rio (facelifted version of the 2008 upwards model). The cars were sold off early dis year at very cheap prices by Dana motors to pave way for the 3rd generation new model 2012 kia rio brands which they currently have in stock nw. So, this price is reasonably possible. However, prospective buyers should ensure everything is in order & d deal genuine before money changes hands. |
GBAM! GBAM!! GBAM!!! Couldn't have put it better. |
well, dats funny, coz as far as i know ( i stand to be corrected), Gov. fashola's father has been resident in the USA long before his son dreamt of leaving private law practice, & even after he became governor, i dnt think the man has moved back to Nigeria. |
brilliant. Coming from a Bishop who bagged a Ph.D from a northern university, i'm very impressed. This is someone who has taken time to find out about the other religion & probably knows its teachings better than some of its adherents. I've always said that its easy and convenient to turn the bokoharam crisis into a muslim vs christian war, but that, it is not the case. Thank God, i'm bein vindicated by eminent xtian leaders. First, twas Bishop Kukah, now, Bishop Idowu Fearon. i hope Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor finds time to read this, & probably educate himself. |
take ur topic to the education section. U'll get more replies dere. |
dmainboss: It is ok for you to defend your religion but I do wish to state the following:yeah, the verses didnt state anythn defensive coz u simply ripped them off & didnt quote or consider the verses preceding or succeeding them. Please try to read the stuffs i posted to get a clearer picture. I'm not denying that some countries/groups of people still practice islam in ways they shouldnt, but i think d same goes for other religions as well. And well, the Prophet told his companions n followers to spread islam, but he didnt tell them to do it violently. Dats d pure truth. As a matter of fact, the Prophet himself won converts to islam due to his own kind, humble and just nature which even the unbelievers & idolators persecuting him then were unable to fault. I've made dis point more than once on this forum & i've backed them up with hadeeth. Prophet Isa *Jesus Christ* (Peace be upon him) is reffered to as a brother by Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) & as a true messenger and prophet by Almighty Allah. You are not a muslim if you do not believe in him. Is it really possible that the same Allah commanded us to kill his followers ? Or did he tell us to spread d message of Islam to them with patience n wisdom instead? |
another article on the verses quoted. www.islamicwritings.org/quran/peace/does-the-quran-teach-violence/ |
dmainboss: First, I didnt quote anything out of context. I just posted them as is from the Koran. I didnt edit them. You can check the online English version of the Koran.Thank you for your polite response. However, please see this xplanation again. Question: Aren't there some verses of the Quran that condone "killing the infidel"? Answer: The Qur'an commands Muslims to stick up for themselves in a defensive battle -- i.e. if an enemy army attacks, then Muslims are to fight against that army until they stop their aggression. All of the verses that speak about fighting/ war in the Quran are in this context. There are some specific verses that are very often "snipped" out of context, either by critics of Islam discussing "jihadism," or by misguided Muslims themselves who wish to justify their aggressive tactics. "Slay Them" - If They Attack You First For example, one verse (in its snipped version) reads: "slay them wherever you catch them" (Quran 2:191). But who is this referring to? Who are "they" that this verse discusses? The preceding and following verses give the correct context: "Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors. And slay them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter... But if they cease, God is Oft- forgiving, Most Merciful... If they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression" (2:190-193). It is clear from the context that these verses are discussing a defensive war, when a Muslim community is attacked without reason, oppressed and prevented from practicing their faith. In these circumstances, permission is given to fight back -- but even then Muslims are instructed not to transgress limits, and to cease fighting as soon as the attacker gives up. Even in these circumstances, Muslim are only to fight directly against those who are attacking them, not innocent bystanders or non-combatants. "Fight the Pagans" - If They Break Treaties A similar verse can be found in chapter 9, verse 5 -- which in its snipped, out of context version could read: "fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)." Again, the preceding and following verses give the context. This verse was revealed during a historical period when the small Muslim community had entered into treaties with neighboring tribes (Jewish, Christian, and pagan). Several of the pagan tribes had violated the terms of their treaty, secretly aiding an enemy attack against the Muslim community. The verse directly before this one instructs the Muslims to continue to honor treaties with anyone who has not since betrayed them, because fulfilling agreements is considered a righteous action. Then the verse continues, that those who have violated the terms of the treaty have declared war, so fight them... (as quoted above). Directly after this permission to fight, the same verse continues, "but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them... for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." The subsequent verses instruct the Muslims to grant asylum to any member of the pagan tribe/army who asks for it, and again reminds that "as long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for God loves the righteous." Conclusion Any verse that is quoted out of context misses the whole point of the message of the Quran. Nowhere in the Quran can be found support for indiscriminate slaughter, the killing of non-combatants, or murder of innocent persons in 'payback' for another people's alleged crimes. The Islamic teachings on this subject can be summed up in the following verses (Quran 60:7- : "It may be that God will grant love (and friendship) between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For God has power (over all things), and God is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful. God does not forbid you, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for God loves those who are just." |
texazzpete: You m0r0nic half-wit! There is no 'suspect' timing here. There is renewed attention on Bin Laden's death and doing now because IT IS NOW ONE YEAR SINCE HE DIED!Well, I'll ignore your insults & focus on the points(if i can call them that) you raised. Yes, i may be spewing conspiracy theories, Azazi may be wrong, Bishop Kukah may not av analyzed the violence properly, time will tell. My muslim brothers in d north are violent, i feel it has more to do with their nature than the religion. I think they feel cool with their acts of violence with the belief that they have religious backing which is false. The sponsors of boko haram have realized this & av capitalized on it. The northerners are soo not the best of muslims, i av to say it. But we still have some gud and enlightened muslims dere who do make some conscious efforts to educate the rest. If a man is not given education, he can be made to believe anything. The past northern leaders have done the region a lot of harm in this regard. In all the violent acts carried out by muslim youths, from the cartoon issue, the beauty paegent wahala & down to the post election violence, we have alwys had Islamic leaders CONDEMNING these acts. Some have done so & paid the ultimate price for their condemnations. Muslim clerics have been assasinated in the same north simply because they have preached against religious violence. Pls consult google for further info as i cant supply names off the top of my head now, tho i believe one was murdered in Borno or so just last month or february. Yes, churches have been bombed, but note that these boko guys are enemies of the average muslim northerner almost as much as they are(if not more coz they r defaming us) to xtians. The bomb blast in kano which killed 182 people, its highly likely several muslims formed part of this number. That is aside from the many killings/raids on citizens. Boko haram is a common enemy to both muslims and xtians, & there shldnt be any doubt in even your mind that the security agencies are not doing enuf. Then, Texazzpette, i've known you on this forum for a very very long time, even before i registered. Please desist from insults coz u didnt start this way. Peace. |

the timing of this story is suspect. VERY suspicious. The massacre on christians at BUK too is very suspicious as well. Its like these two events were planned to deflect attention from: i)The statement made by the NSA labelling bh as political. ii) The highly likely & quite obvious fact (even b4 the NSA's speech) that boko haram is political & isnt sponsored by any taliban/bin Laden/islamic bank (however silly that sounds) , but by Nigerian politicians....with Nigerian money. (the north & its sorrounding border countries e.g. Niger republic have provided d ''raw materials'' i.e. poor stupid illiterate almajiris who can easily be brainwashed into bombing themselves). iii) The subsidy probe panel report & the actions to be taken(or avoided) thereafter. Can any of our very well versed muslim brothers/sisters correct/analyze the many 'bloody' verses (mostly quoted out of context) an earlier poster brought out of the Qur'an, the same book that accords a lot of respect to Jesus Christ (A.S.). And to that poster, since u are soo well versed in Quranic verses ( & i assume, islam), you can like to ask yourself why its just in d latter part of last century/early ds century that muslims started ''smiting'' and ''fighting'' xtians/unbelievers. i would appreciate if u culd xtend your research to the battles fought by the Prophet Mohammed (SAW) himself in his lifetime & tell us if any of those battles wasnt borne out of self defence or if women, children & even harmless men not on d battle field were attacked in those battles. Heck, tell us if any of those wars were against xtians! Keep spreading your propaganda if u wish, but Islam will continue to grow, & inshaAllah, the bad eggs among us who continue to carry out evil and abominable acts in d name of islam will be made to pay for their crimes. Tho, Allah is ever willing to forgive those who truly repent. |
I beleve 1.5 Billion naira has been budgeted & approved to build new official residences for this man & the speaker (David Mark bought the former one & now another will be built which he wil also buy at the end of his tenure...for peanuts as usual). He has earned & will earn hundreds of millions as salary, enuf to build world class hospitals for the masses & him. Many people have died & r still dying due to lack of a proper health care system thanx to the excesses & non-chalance of our leaders including this man. Now he's off to Isreal & we r supposed to wish him speedy recovery? |
Both cars come with a 1.4 or 1.6 litre engine, so subsidy or no subsidy, fuel economy isnt a problem if ur engine is sound, serviced & maintained properly. The cars r good, if u dont stress them too much. If u dont do much driving on terrible roads, then both cars r OK i bliv. Regular servicing & maintenance is key to enjoying ANY car. But dude, if u drive on rough roads regularly, then i'll suggest u go for something that can withstand dt sort of stress better. A gud idea of ur budget will aid recommendations. |
more or less the same car. The 2006 (Accent) (2008 Rio)- 2010 models of both cars had more or less the same engine. If u r buyin brand new of both models, i think u shld just look at both & pick d one that appeals to u more aesthetically in terms of the interior & exterior. The new 2012 Rio to me is actually very sexy sha & looks more ''manly'' than the also sexy Accent ![]() *funny enuf, some people tend to have more positive reviews of the hyundai accent sha* Oh, as u & many other people may have strongly suspected, Hyundai & Kia are subsidiaries of the same parent company , Hyundai Motors, with headquarters in South korea, which xplains y many parts...engine, wheel covers e.t.c. r very very similiar even down right to their keyless entry remotes.lol |
I'm seriously considering buying a new android fone, the samsung galaxy y pro duos (with keypad & touchscreen, runnin android OS 2.3) very very soon, maybe today. But i av a few questions from users of d phone or similiar galaxy models: 1) can d phone battery last for up to a full day with fairly constant browsing using 2G? *battery is 1350maH* 2) can i preload maps (Nigeria) on it such that i wont av to connect to the internet everytime i want to access it? 3) is the juice defender app really effective in increasin battery life of androids generally? Or its just a slight increment? 4) do i just go for a nokia e5 instead Or d LG p500(android 2.2)? Or what android fone will u recommend wt a 25-28k budget??Thanx guys. Xpecting replies soonest. |
very interested. 25k? Or what's ur last price? |
aieromon: By the way,I recently discovered not all Glo sims can receive 3G signals.I dunno the logic behind this and whether this applies to Etisalat sim cards as well.I av a similiar issue with my Airtel line. It's been in a 3G fone for more than a year now without me getting 3G service. I get Edge & GPRS , but no 3G. & i get 3G on my glo & mtn lines on the same phone! I've called customer care, gone to their office to complain, even broke my SIM card & went to retrieve it (thot it was a SIM issue), yet the problem hasnt been resolved. Any ideas people? |
is the iphone 3gs clean & still available? 24k, very serious buyer. |
Please do not mislead potential buyers. From d pic of the front bumper, back light & d audio system, this corolla is likely an 03 or 04 model corolla, & therefore, is wonderfully overpriced. U can like to clarify by posting the VIN. Thank you. |
Oyaps: There is something that am sure about Tinubu, Asiwaju will never encouraged rigging of an election. You r part of the problems we have in this country. You may not even have received more than N50,000 from Mr Ogunlere...sorry, Mr Tinubu, yet u come here to defend him...with lies. Are u not even d least bit ashamed of urself? U think evry1 here is silly? If u were not in lagos in 99, 2003, 2007, 2011, we were here, & we kno what went down. |
kudos, poster for the clarification. Twas a mistake anybody culdv made. Its wrong of forumites to just abuse their postin privileges by cryin foul without any SOLID proof. But ermm, poster, hope say d captain go sell that him soldier headdress with d car o *no more fooolish police stopping on d road*.lol. |
I laff. Even the most staunch ACN sychophants have to agree that no political office holder ''elected'' in Lagos state got there without Tinubu's ''permission''. A good number of the legislators & practically all the LG & LCDA chairmen were forcefully imposed on the people. So, trust me, their allegiance is to Tinubu first, followed by Fashola (for some who like him), & then the people (for the few who have conscience). Lets wait n see if Fashola's bday will generate as much fanfare as this. |
u better dont let age diff stand in d way of smthn gud. Maybe u shld kno that some women get married at 26, & may not give birth till 33. Yes, it happens, & its not witch or wizard or body malfunction that causes it. & if u r bothered abt d ''respect'' issue, there r cases where the man is older than d woman with like 5,6 yrs or more sef, & the wife is as saucy as hell, & the man is miserable. & there r cases where d man is even younger than d woman & u'll never ever kno. This applies to a couple i kno quite well. apart from d fact that d wife is still lookin so pretty & young, she's also very respectful & d marriage is a very happy one. 29 is not too old to start givin birth sir. |
This has taken hatred & stupidity to new heights. |
Sweetnecta: The 2 muslim leaders who categorized the government as not serious are ridiculous in their pronouncement. There is no where in the Book of Allah, The Quran and in the Tradition of The Messenger [as], The Sunnah and Authentic Hadith that allow a handful of renegades or even more than that in number to destabilize any functioning society with good or even bad leadership. If it has been allowed, Saudi Arabia should have been the first to be destabilized.God bless u for this post. Imagine the s1lly reason the man gave for withdrawing. |
In the ''spirit'' of thread derailment , i thinl those of u agitatin for ''resource control'' & justifyin the 13percent or even askin for more should ask the SS Governors, present & past, what they've done with the billions they've been gettin every month since 1999. Even if the SS states get 50 percent, unless we have proper leadership at the state & LG level, the money will only serve to enrich already fat accounts here & abroad & very little will trickle down to the people who really ''own'' the oil. |
moshoodn: derailed threadTotally dereailed. Had to check d topic again to b sure i was still on the same thread.lol |
Thanks a lot man. I appreciate. |
Export 1, thanx for all u r doin here. I've finally confirmed the VIN myself. Its 5N1AN08W65C655599 God bless u man. |
