I just completed my masters this month.
I am still on student permit but I should change to work permit by next month ( if I get an appointment) and my phd resumption is January. So I will be leaving here by December.

No I didn’t need Ielts ( my bachelors ( in Naija) and masters here were both in English)

I applied for myself and my spouse and submitted together.
You will choose that you want to apply for family members ( you will pick yes when the question pops up)
I think the rest are with the instructions.

Please all, i was given a PHD visa stamp of 13months because of my passport that will expire at that time. My question is will my wife get that same Duration or they will give her 4 years because the normal stay period should be 4 years?

I made a promise to my Jehovah that when he approves my Canada Study Permit Application, I'll sing this song and testify of His glory.

My story is long but I'll see if I can summarize it. Please note that I've been peeping into this forum for close to 2 years now but this is my first time posting. God Almighty had used this forum to bless and comfort me. That's why I want to post my testimony for people to know that God is able to grant them PPR. Receive your testimony and comfort too. God bless everyone who has been contributing to the success of this platform, including the lady that dropped a powerful prayer one night for ppr hopefuls.

When I needed comfort, I always prayed to God and also visited nairaland forum regularly.

Now this is my story:
I'm 41 years and I hold PhD. Sometime ago in 2018, I made a decision to move to Canada through the study route. I applied for diploma and was granted admission. I later applied for Study Permit in March, 2020 but was refused in May, 2020. Now, I see that God Almighty didn't want me to travel to Canada with PhD to do diploma because He has better plans for me.
I was depressed and almost lost hope. But that's not who I am. Giving up is never in my DNA. So by God's grace, I drew strength from JESUS Christ and decided to re-strategize. So by God's grace, in 2020 August, I decided to ignore the fear about stress and rejections from searching for Supervisors for second PhD. Note that I already have PhD degree. So I started sending emails to professors requesting them to be my Supervisor. Just one night retrial, I woke up to see an email from a Professor who scheduled a meeting with me to assess me to know if he'll agree to be my Supervisor. To cut the story short, I was accepted, admitted into the University with full scholarship, including a Teaching Assistantship position. Oh, hallelujah!

Now, the story about my study permit application. Still bearing the anger of the rejection of last year in my mind, I reluctantly applied for study permit. I tried downloading the PDF of the application documents but without success, so I angrily edited the former forms in my computer that I filled last year and submitted to IRCC on the 18th of March, 2021.
Got NSE request on the 14th of April. This put me in a good spirit, so despite all odds, I travelled to write the IELTS exam and by God's grace, I passed and sent it to IRCC on 11th of May. Submission acknowledged on the 12th of May. No information from IRCC till 17th of June when I received medical request. Medical Examination done on 7th of July. Passed on 14th of July.
Correspondence Letter on 9th of August and PPR today, 10th of August.

Note that till now, my eligibility and background check aren't completed and my profile is still showing "we are processing your application".

My Jehovah is great and able. I almost developed high blood pressure, anxiety attack and depression as a result of the process but God Almighty gave me victory and approved my application.
I've sent my passport to VFS today.

May Jehovah listen to your worrying hearts and visit you with good news, including PPR.

I informed my supervising Professor after the application and she said they will get back to me soon since she said I should apply for January intake and it is fully funded. I am currently a resident in Germany since 2018. Thanks again for the info and see you in Canada

okay, if it’s a rolling application then about 3months from the date of application, you should get a response. So hopefully, by the end of this month or September.
Given that your file has been sent to the department, it means you have passed the general screening, it’s time for the department to make a decision with regards to admitting you, your supervisor, the amount of funding and any other factors or benefits. Now, to secure admission, a Professor must accept to supervise you, hopefully, the supervisor you emailed Fights for your acceptance.

Also, please read and digest all the information here on study permit, so once you are admitted you can apply immediately without delay. IRCC takes a long time to process visa these days and if you can, please go through NSE and submit everything upfront.

And No I’m not in Canada yet, traveling in a few days.

Hi, it takes about 3months to 4 months from the date of the application deadline to get admission decisions for masters and Ph.D. You will prolly hear from them at the end of August or September. When was the deadline for applications?

I sent a cold email to a professor who agreed that she wants me for a PhD at western university in a biology department. She said i should apply for winter (January). I applied in late May and I am yet to hear from the University. I read on the website that it takes a while before the admission committee replies. I got a mail that my application os completed and forwarded to the department.
Please does anyone have an idea of how long it takes to hear from the biology admission office?

She said I should apply after having an interview with me and I informed her after completing the application. Does anyone know when admission for Winter is giving as I applied for the winter semester?

Hey. I’m rounding up my masters so yes. Eu rule doesn’t allow separation of family. So irrespective of the course you are allowed to be with your family through the reunification.

Hi. You would need a blocked account for your spouse and kids.
Your spouse will also go through verification process which involves a lawyer confirming her documentation and marriage. You would also get a house for the number of family as per german requirement when you get here as you will be coming to Germany alone and your family will join you later.

For kids half of an adult blocked account is required.
I hope this answers your question based on my own experience and please both of you should apply together and let them know you plan to go with your family.
The process is also long and tiring but worth it.

Depends on you status. Are you a student or a blue card holder. As a student, blocked account for your spouse will suffice but I don’t know much about blue card holders

Hi. Let me answer from my little knowledge.
1st hubby has to open two separate block accounts. 1 for you and 1 for him.
It is advisable that both of you attend the interview together. He can call the Embassy and confirm the details.
This will save you time. So you don’t have to start waiting for appointment date and all.
I made this mistake while I was leaving. My interviewer asked me late and i was informed I could apply that we are both leaving.
Hubby’s visa will still come out and your will take longer.

In my own case for example, I got the verification complete email on the 28th June, and then on on 3rd I went to the foreign office without waiting for them to write me because I already knew the documents the usually ask, In some big cities this might not be possible without appointment. When I arrived there the couldn’t find her name on the system because it wasn’t registered yet. She opened one big files and searched for about 4mins and then brought out her file, it was there I realized that the embassy usually send all application forms after verification with passport photos as well to Germany with courier because every single document she submitted was there. She then did the verification for me on that 3rd July and told me that the reply would be emailed to the embassy Soon. I waited for another 2 weeks and without any news from the embassy, then I wrote the embassy on 17th in English and received no reply and then on 19th being Friday in German and the replied the next working day on 21st July saying that the are still waiting for the reply from the foreign office, After reading it I picked up the phone and called the honorable Lady in charge of her file and she said, it hasn’t been done yet but It would be done. Later on that same day in evening, I wrote her another email, explained how difficult it was to even get an appointment and how long we had to wait that she should pls try and hasten with the reply in a very polite way and thanked her as well. The next morning she replied me telling me that she has replied the embassy, that was on 23rd July and then I quickly wrote the embassy in German as well and quoted what the wrote me from foreign office. On Wednesday the 24th arrived the Approval email. I guess you now know what I meant with a little push here and there

I want to drop a piece of information that might be useful for all. if you can fund 2 blocked accounts. you can leave with your wife immediately. all you have to do is fill in your form that your wife is coming with you with all the necessary marriage documents and both of you can get your visa together and leave. A friend here in DE did the same with his wife and they are here. the issue is always the funds. but if the funds are there. the easiest and fastest way is for both of you to apply together.
