gungab:Announcement is one part of it - a major one for that one. That is why Radio Nigeria and NTA then was more of a garrison, full of soldiers. Radio station is where the coup plotters or any one interested in change of government announces his success. A successful coup happens when you are able to seize the security apparatus of a country or a state - the armed forces, police and other security system. Seizure here means getting those in control of the security system to switch to your side or using force to arrest or execute them and appoint your men to the position. Finally, fighting your way to the States house or presidential palace. But the announcement is a very important aspect of it |
What a history! God bless technology. Those against technology should go and die. Sometimes, I imagine how the world would have been without technology. I watched a full clip of the second world war and respected the whites more. 1945 Europe is far more developed structurally than some of African states. Video and camera technologies have helped mankind very well to preserve history. |
n3xt:Hmmm. Clean and detailed. This colour is different. I haven't seen this colour before. The Nigeria weather situation makes large windows inevitable especially when building your own house. |
drkay:Please no body contacted me to launder any image, neither am I here to hold briefs for anybody. I gave my story and that is it. If you feel that you people have an unfinished business, get across to him. I got back to him and saw that my work had progressed against my initial thought. Please follow up with him if you have any issue. My thinking is that this kind of things are common with artisans. |
;twinskenny:I was stunned when I saw the windows. The thing made me to pity him as I was already eager to land the final punch Yes, we opened up additional large wall openings for windows. I so much love windows. One of the windows measured from one pillar to another of the room but na sliding window o. I like to have natural light penetrate inside rather than having the inside to be dark. Also better ventilation. |
mufutau55:The great Hajji, I am surprise at the impression people have about him. I thought I was being scammed but my work has finally being delivered. He had done good jobs before and that was why I contracted him again for windows. Though he delayed but we later got the reason behind the delay.I am reading this thread and surprise to see some comments about him. These are my windows as at yesterday
|
Ibibioson:I was able to see this HSL Broker. I earlier contracted him to do additional windows for me as I opened up more walls in my house for windows. I paid for everything but could not hear from him. My thought was that the guy had ran away with my money. We were able to track him and found out that he was in an isolation center with Corona virus and sick. I had earlier written bad things about him on his thread in nairaland. I felt pity for him. I had to pull them down again. It is not in my character to spoil people's business. I had to delete all the things I said about him. I told him that he should have carried me along if he was taken to the isolation center by Governor Wike's COVID-19 task force, but he said he lost his phone at the center and couldn't replace it at that time because of money since he was not able to go out. The good thing was that he referred us to the location where my work was going on and we went there and I saw the whole windows almost completed. My perception of him changed. I don't know if this is his character as I haven't heard any bad thing about him before this incident. Also let it be that the client is not the one failing to abide by the terms of the contract. I am an independent consultant and I deal with clients that are too difficult to work with, always raising issue. Even before this my issue with him, I held back before making my conclusion to avoid crucifying an innocent person. When I mentioned that I paid a popular nairalander here for a window without the job being delivered, people ask me for his moniker. I didn't provide it as I wanted to be sure of the intent of the guy as I wouldn't be able to sleep if I label false accusation on someone. The good thing is that he had delivered on the job given to him Below are the pictures of my windows we saw yesterday.

These national assembly guys dey see money - These are one quarter of what they received. |
So sad, see the trauma on the faces of the villagers. Nigeria is a very poor country. You know a very poor country by the living standard of its people. The kind of houses they live, clothes the wear, general well being. Anytime they showed street Nigerians, you see faces of abject poverty and struggle. See how these innocent people lost their lives all in a bid to eke out a living |
I do understand the OPs predicament. OP may be very incompetent and his boss and colleagues makes fun of him because of that. This usually happens in organization where the bosses doesn't have the right to fire. We had one guy like that - grossly incompetent. We hardly reckoned with him and this was affecting him badly. Whatever he did, my boss would shout at him. He was always extremely careful not to make any mistake as our boss will come hard on him. The same thing others would make mistakes on and our boss will overlook. Probably saw it as a one off thing. But once it was the guy, heaven would fall and it was affecting him emotionally. Though grossly incompetent, he was brought to our firm from US through a paddy paddy arrangment He later resigned and returned back to US |
It will take Africans about 1000 years to get to the current level of western development. |
Bewiseedet:They allowed her do the talking - typical Whiteman - let the blame be on her. Blacks will always be used to achieve objectives. ![]() |
So what did the panel do? It was stated that the panel didn't investigate the charges. Was it a kangaroo panel? How did they arrive at their conclusion. Adesina is my man but AFDB under his watch will struggle with fund as long as they depend on America for equity contribution. I trust America, they will start bullying the man and his executives including placing sanctions. The way they are doing the judges at the international court of justice at the Hague for going against them. |
I have been asked many times by some of these international development agencies to come to Maiduguri for one job or the other. But the kind of news I read about North East doesn't give me much confidence to go, even though the pay is always tempting and irresistable. Even my wife wey like money die never agreed to any mission to Maiduguri. But I actually want to do the jobs to enrich my experience in humanitarian/development sector. |
Nigerian players and early retirement. e no de hard, dem don stop to de play showing that they were overage when they started their youth football. Does Yobo still de play? Some of his mates in Europe are still playing. |
Southwest will always have my respect. The central government that is education averse, wanted to infringe on fundamental value of the region - Education! They united and took a position. You cant use education to play in that region. If your region doesn't like education, don't hold other people's children down. I give it to them for wanting to go against the federal government to reopen school and conduct SSCE exam for their candidates. That's some balls brother. That's why the FG is considering reopening school. I heard October from a reliable source. |
themanderon:Well said my brother! development is not about location but about peoples values and innate qualities. White settled in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada and America that were hitherto, black and aborigine and turned the places into a livable cities and communities. The areas concentrated by blacks like the Caribbean, Haiti and black communities outside Africa are same as mother land Africa. The conclusion from this is that it is a Negroid problem. Just imagine how SA or other Southern African countries would have been without whites. I told somebody that if the British had continued to rule Nigeria up to 1980 or even 1990, this country would have been far more developed and advanced. I could not help but wonder why good governance is on recess in Africa. Scotland opened my eyes to what development is all about. All the communities I visited, even villages had resemblance of development. I was just coming back from Island today and was wondering what the loot mentioned by Akpabio would have done on the roads of Lagos state alone, the lives of poverty stricken people seen on the road and decrepit infrastructure we have here, but sadly, being praised by uninformed youth population, ready to take you to the gutters should you dare to insult their respective gods. |
lakeside50:VI is an area - I mean actual location address. Is there no opportunity for viewing and inspection? |
Nigeria! We have all the opportunity to be like Turkey, South Korea, Singapore and other emerging economies. But no, the corruption in this country is dragging the country backwards. Money that could be used to better the welfare of the people but the elite will continue to loot and loot. During my days in UK as a student, I was wondering how their forefathers had to make the sacrifice that saw the country developed to that extent. Every nook and crannies of Scotland was developed with tarred road and good housing with modern city living. This wouldn't have been possible if their fore fathers and former governments were looting the treasury. We seems to like good things in this country but the government hardly makes an effort to put the country on the part of growth Each generation that comes becomes worse than the former. I fear for the future generation and how the country will be in the years to come if the current trend of profligacy and mismanagement of public resources continues. |
mufutau55:Great Hajji, He didn't carry me along before . It is not in my character to run down people and their businesses. Any way, he has progressed with the work. It is one of those things common with artisans. Thanks. |
People were expecting Pete Edochie - The husband is a low key type. I hope he has money because as a man, there has to be money to maintain all these Nigerian actresses - both the young and old. Rita no be small woman. |
I pray success locates him Italy. If not, the racist Italian fans will descend on him gulping huge sums without impact. Oyibos give their own time to deliver but if you are a foreigner and an African, you need to be extra good to earn their respect, especially in the round leather game. |
They are not children of elite air force officers. If They were children of senior air force officers staying in the same base with her, you won't see them being paraded before the public. |

See that one putting tyre round the neck of the robbers. We have lost humanity in us. These people that carry out jungle justice are capable of murder. Fear them. |
State the cost naa. How is it installed? Do you installed it on top of already made tile, German floor or sand? |
The senate has passed a lot of resolutions without the presidency accepting them. The latest being the resolution to sack the service chiefs. The presidency said no. But kia kia, 24hrs after the resolution for the presidency to take over, NDDC, the presidency immediately accepted this one. So, the presidency is now playing selective acceptance of senates resolutions. |
Misplaced priority!! See the poor quality of work. This should have been converted into a massive farm land than this non viable airport. The lane, even though poorly constructed is enough to put all the inner roads in onitsha and Awka to better condition. As usual, they will defend this and their supporters will attack me. Na una sabi. I have said my mind. Misplaced priority!!! Airport is never a viable business in Nigeria. Productive transformation of the states should be more paramount. |
LukasPodolski:Is there anything wrong with that? You should be happy that he used a word that is not native to him. That's the spirit. A lot of us use words from other people's language to say things that are common and general, especially if the word has been set as a precedent. We use "Oga" all the time to denote big man. Oga is an hausa word but is use by every body. Egbon is a Yoruba word but we used it all the time to denote brother. Biko is an Igbo word but we use it to complete a sentence . We shouldn't be consumed by our own ethnic leanings all the time |
Good move and attempt. Nigeria's industrial capacity is nothing to write home about. The value chain in production processes is not realized. See a typical car assembly plant in South Africa and you would be marveled. Innosson factory always looks more like an upgraded mechanic car workshop. There should be a deliberate policy to scale up capacity utilization and back ward integration in our process to achieve the benefit of job creation and other value added services. |
keep to time with the remaining ones |
waiting for the remaining ones |
