mufutau55:I tell you bro - I just finished reading the guys posts - He is good. There are a lot of good guys here and some CONEMEN as well parading as pastors and builders, but I would soon expose one of them when I am done with our underground investigation with my SARS friend. A popular nairaland in the property section is on the run with my money without delivering his own part of the deal as he has gone under. I will brief the house in details on this later. |
rotecch77:Mehn, I wished I had seen you earlier. The work looks neat. Far neater than mine |
At least I could see neatness and orderliness in a Nigerian thing. We are so crude, disorganised and indiscipline in everything. Hate them or love them, the standard exhibited there is of top quality and international. People are already hating the place because of its beauty and aesthetics. A typical Nigerian abhors decency and fine aesthetics as there is no room for him to do as he likes, throws things on the floor, spit out on the floor, deface the wall or pee by the side. Rent out your well built house to tenants, they will turn them to an eyesore; build a new hostel for students and come there after one year, the sanitary condition would be an eye sore. |
Car dealers and scam - I fear who no fear them! After car dealers, na agents I fear so - property, land, house, name them. Agency business and shady deals are like 5 and 6 in Nigeria. |
Mehn, burials always have some bad aspects of it. Transporting corpse to village for burial always seems to be one of the most dangerous undertaken these days. I was going to PH one time by road and saw a bus on fire with a casket by the road side. I am sure those people were conveying the corpse to the village. There has been many reports of unplanned and unimagined accidents happening at burials. That Nkpor, Ogidi, Abatete road is very narrow even though the road is in a first class condition - well tarred but too narrow and with a lot of sharp bends and bushes by the side that will make it difficult for amateur driver to negotiate to either side of the road in case of unforeseen circumstances. Rest in peace people. |
EgunMogaji2:That was the strategy I used. The openings of my sliding is bigger than the normal 4x4 casement. I also like your idea of the smaller the house the better. My uncle built a massive 8 room duplex at the peak of his career in mid 90s. The children are all grown and are living on their own. Maintaining that house now is a big problem. When one talks in the main living room downstairs, it echoes because of size with practically nobody living there except my uncle, his wife and a maid. I am a core minimalist and not a fan of big mansion. I had to remodelled my house to create a mini 2 bedroom duplex for rent from the original main building. There is no need occupying a massive house when the children are all gone to their respective houses and destinations |
mufutau55:Sure, I will |
mufutau55:You can say that again. Three tracks. Pull it and see massive air in flow on both sides. And it is even cheaper than casement. Overseas, they mostly use sliding and not casement we use here. Some of their slidings are the ones you slide from down and move it up. |
I so much love sliding windows. I don't know why people don't like it. If not for my wife's insistence on casement, I would have used sliding all through. I am changing the masters bedroom with ultra large sliding windows, from one end of pillar to the other. 4000mmx2000m |
I planted corn and tomatoes at the back of my plot under construction. I so much love plants and anything green. Let's embrace the habit of planting something within our vicinity no matter how small. You can Google about pot planting and how you could plant things in flower pots or any other container. Maize, tomatoes and other vegetables could grow very well in containers at home. Try it and you would like the feel and look of those plants. That's why I love oyibos. Go to their houses and you see flower and plant pots everywhere. This is what I learnt very well when I was in UK |
Corporate2020:Your type are the ones glorifying mediocrity. You need to step out of this country to understand the enormity of rudderless leadership we have been having in Nigeria. |
sassysure:Please tell them. I like the way you dish it to them. Nigerians likes to glorify mediocrity a lot. I read where you were arguing with someone about the popularity and development difference between SA and Nigeria. The Nigeria guy said that more Nigerians have more American and overseas degrees than SA. Mehn, I closed my eyes in shame. He didn't know the reason why most Nigerians go abroad to study is because of the hopelessness and the ramshackle institutions we have here. Honestly, sentiments apart, defending Nigeria and Nigerians is one of the most herculean task ever. Our leaders have failed us. If not for oil, I wonder where would have been. |
SenecaTheYonger:Nigerian students always looks crude and unkempt. It is a reflection of our larger society. The untidiness and dirt and I don't care attitude of average Nigerian. A student is supposed to look neat and cultured but we have strong men and niggers here. Our problems are simply many. |
God bless the OP. Our country is one of the most backwards in terms of infrastructure but our stupid youths will be here glorifying ghettos and quack infrastructures. Visit University of Nairobi, Kenya and Makelele University, Uganda, you will be marvelled. Our architects are not creative and innovative when it comes to beauty and aesthetics in building. I bet you, if a Nigerian contractor had built that teaching hospital shown in the picture, he wouldn't bother with the exterior landscape. It would be left like that with the heaps of sand, planks and other things. Tufiakwa! Let's stop glorifying mediocrity in this country abeg, |
Solid infrastructure is always an enabler for economic growth. Countries with solid infrastructures tends to grow very fast unlike countries with decrepit infrastructures like ours. |
All these over rated expatriates. Why was she even hired by Adeshina? Go to UI and other places and see seasoned development economists that understands the peculiarity of African economies and not these oyibos that are interested in fat pay check. That was how IMF recommended one of their staff as the chief economic adviser to OBJ during his tenure but he played a fast one on them and appointed Soludo much to the dismay of IMF that he promised to appoint their man after IMF gave Nigerian debt forgiveness. |
Make I apply sharply since the closing date for submission of entries is now 8th July, 2020. Nairaland, make una support your own o. I will ensure trade surplus for Nigeria in all areas of trade. I will make sure that all our products meets the strictest international standard to ensure acceptance of our farmers and Aba made goods in the international market. |
See how him glass shift one side for him face. All these Nigerian corrupt politicians, they hardly look well after eating our money. The most popular CP then. |
This racism thing is becoming over hyped with black celebrities using it for show. Blacks have killed more blacks in the world than whites. There are millions of moderate whites that are against racism. Between a black man and a white man, who would I befriend? of course the white man. As a Nigerian student in UK in 2009, majority of my friends were whites and those from Latin America. I had bad experience with my Nigerian brothers and switched allegiance immediately without any sentiment. AJ, you totally got this one wrong. They gave you a racist speech and you read it the way Nigerian politicians read prepared speeches without knowing the content. |
If you have any undeveloped land in Oniru, go and start doing something now or else.... If you have land without proper title in Oniru, go and regularize. If you know, you know |
Easy ride for Trump. Sleepy Joe stands no chance at all. Michael Bloomberg would have electrified the election campaign |
I just finished reading WTO guidelines for nomination of candidates. Egypt made a valid point o. Though they made the point out of fear that Ngozi may be a difficult candidate compared to theirs. Why are we good in substituting candidates at the last minute everytime? This is not INEC, PDP, APC that are known for substituting candidates at the last minute. If followed to the later, Egypt might use this rule to knock off our candidate. |
Widows needs counselling a lot. Most of them associates with the wrong people out of boredom. See how she left 5 young children to be catered by relatives. I am sure one of those guys was her boy friend for her to have visited him. My concern are the innocent kids that have been orphaned. |
I always tell people that you cannot compare Nigeria's economy with that of South Africa. South African companies are far more buoyant and highly capitalized than Nigerian companies. There was one research that was conducted by Forbes to measure the quality of highly capitalized companies in Africa - that is multibillion dollar companies. It was found out that Nigeria have just 38 while South Africa have 349 multi billion dollar companies. The profit of DSTV alone can rival the turnover of any major capitalized company in Nigeria. |
gel:How many feet is the door |
Develop your capability in Data science and mining. Get your masters and even up to PHD to stand a better chance of working for development and international NGOs. perfect your skills in areas of SPSS, Data kit, STAT and other data analysis tools used by international development agencies. Bro, Statistics is far better than computer science. At least, you can still do some professional computer related courses. Make sure you are sound and comfortable with numbers otherwise , you would struggle with the course Good luck! |
babalose:OP, I am interested in the answer to this question. |
Nigerians, always glorifying inconsequential things. Our universities have not been able to solve our societal problems. Let's focus on what those universities in Nigeria can do and not mere buildings. |
buygala:Madness dey worry you. I don laugh tire ![]() |
I pity wild life in Nigeria. For Nigerians, every animal is a fair game. Watch NATGEO and see how animals lives in their habitat and the attention accorded to them by conservationist. |
That feeling of completing and moving into your newhouse is unimaginable. Only house owners can relate. |
I wonder how the world was millions of years ago. Dinosaurs must have been a very vicious beast years ago. I saw the remains of the animal in Houston zoo in 2014 and was marvelled at the animals cheer size and its canine. Sad that the animal went into extinction. |
