I am surprised at the comments here by some men. If you dont want to upgrade your wife, na you sabi. I have no worry at all about upgrading my wife. As long as I am not dependent on her for sustenance, I am ok with upgrading her. In fact, at the moment, I am making an arrangement for a special upgrade for her. I want her to take over the affairs of the family expenses in the future because I am going to retire on time and take care of myself and enjoy my life. |
The three places I worked when I was in full time job were gotten after applying with my CV. However, since I became an Independent Consultant, I have not been given any assignment based on the application submitted. Everything has been through referral, friends, former colleagues, former employers and my alumni association network. As a consultant, it would be difficult to be hired based on your experience or previous jobs. This is what I have observed in Nigeria. Everything is about referral (Ima mmadu) - connection and recommendation. I have stopped submitting quote to any consultancy role that I dont have any connection. |
We were lucky to enter the Corporate World as Management Trainees/Executive Trainees/Graduate Trainees No experience required. We passed through classroom and induction training for six months in 2005/2006 This is the best thing that could happen to any recent graduate - To be hired by a multinational or any good company as a graduate trainee after the rigorous SHL/Aptitude tests and interviews. Your career will be well-planned and structured. If you are good, you rise through the ranks and gain the experience in the company. After five or eight years, with rich experience as a subject expert in your field, you could transfer your services to another company with a higher pay. However, if you are unlucky to enter through the trainee-ship route, you will just be left with unstable jobs - hopping from one man business to another. Some could still be lucky to horn their skills in lesser known companies and develop great competencies that would enable them to break into their field with bigger industry players. |
There is nothing wrong with borrowing. When I was in the banking industry, I fought for my bank to approve N3.5m for my cousin in 2009, who was struggling in his business at Tradefair complex. Within a period of one year, he paid off the loans and interest and scaled up his business big time. He is doing extremely well now, with two personal houses at Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. He doesn't joke with me as I was instrumental to his success. However, in Nigeria, the value for money borrowed is nothing to write home about. The value of physical projects and what the loans were used falls short of the total loans. Most of all these gigantic loans were used to build public toilets, low quality primary health centers, recurrent expenditure and white elephant projects. |
Environmental and Climate Change Modelling This is to aid my chances with recruitment as a consultant with international development institutions committed to environment and Climate change |
Nigeria, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh have the same thing in common. High population with fewer opportunities. Reason why most middle class people in those countries are migrating in droves to Western countries |
The worst nightmare of any graduate - to live in Nigeria without any sustainable means of livelihood. If you don't manage your unemployment condition well in Nigeria, you may fall straight into depression. |
socially4fun:Hello, my wife is about to begin her Form A application for payment of her school fees. Does she need to generate payment ID from Flywire? Her school provided Flywire as one of the means through which school fees could be paid. However, we want to process her school fees payment via Form A. So, an ID still need to be generated from the Flywire Portal in completing the Form A? Thank you. |
What becomes the fate of the young children in a country without social protection for the most vulnerable ![]() |
Another cash out for the traditional rulers and chiefs. The last payouts that shell did, some ordinary people got as much as N20m, which many of them used to buy jeeps, Spyder Toyota and Tundra offloads cars. Withing one year, some families have squandered their millions. Some natives even came back from abroad to claim their own share from the payout and yet the community still lacks basic amenities.. |
mrnatural:Social Work, Social Service Worker, Child and youth Care, nursing and all other health and Human services programs fills up quickly because of demand. They are generally regarded as highly competitive with limited enrollment. It becomes even more competitive and difficult if you are an international student. Some schools in Canada don't take foreign students in their health and Human services programs. As a foreign student, if you try to apply, you will see it as "closed" when in actual sense, it's much open but only to domestic applicants. Not discouraging you, but it would be hard to see any September 2023 admission to social work that is still open by this time. It may be open in their website but they have received huge numbers of application already. If you are not in a haste, you can try January 2024. If MSc does not work, you can consider the 2 year diploma program in social Service worker offered by colleges, which is still competitive. Some have also closed to international applicants for September 2023. Good luck! |
The man cashed out big time under Buhari with their evacuation of stranded Nigerians abroad contract. RIP Max air is a good airline. I have used them couple of times. |
Honestly, sometimes, I had to let go. Lots of people are currently mad and on substance in Nigeria, and Lagos, especially. |
If she can pay your flight ticket, no problem. After all, someone in our neighborhood, very tall and athletic guy, just completed youth service and doing nothing, went to Botswana in 2016 to meet her online Botswana girl friend and have not stepped his feet back to Nigeria since then. The lady in question was studying mining sciences in the final year, what we usually called mining engineering in Nigeria. She is from a wealthy family and her father was into diamond mining with all those multinational mining conglomerate in Southern Africa. |
Kidnapping and politics seems to be the most lucrative business in Nigeria. See this kidnappers with cool N7.5m without working for one kobo |
IslamIsIdiotic:Oga, please dont take your family on this your dangerous route. You can do it alone your self even if you get to Owerri in the next two day. No problems. Cut and join travel is the most stressful and dangerous. |

Honestly, Nigeria is truly ruled under different regimes. See how people openly carry and display deadly arms. You don't dare try it here in the south. Security forces down here always like showing brute force but up North, they are cold in acting. That's why they easily arrest youths here in South but find it difficult to go after miscreants in the north. |
Your party have been in power and some of your appointees are the ones running the show. Simply tell them what to do. You still have six months left. Please cut soap for Buhari and the current APC. You are called the national leader of the party. You should be part of decision making, either in executive or advisory capacity. |
He is going back to Atiku It's better he maintains his neutrality. |
They should be placed under surveillance. Dismissed policeman or soldier is a big threat to the society. They will vent their anger on the larger society |
AImiron:That was a world-class save. If that ball had entered, that would have been the winner. The experienced keeper went with his leg instead of diving. If he had dived, he would not have stopped the ball. He just spread his left leg to block the shot. See the Argentine guy behind. He already had his hands on his head thinking it had entered. The Argentine keepers in the match against Netherlands and France were superb. |
The tolling boot may likely be blown up and vandalized by protesters. FG should not try it. Once people sees it as an instrument of extortion, there would be push back. If there has to be toll, the same should be extended to other major roads constructed in other places. I like the bridge but do not support the selective application of tolling. It has destroyed the good intention of Buhari and that bridge. |
What happens to the cars and boats after the election? Where are the ones used in the previous election? |
I love this. People should be allowed to campaign freely in any part of the country. Atiku is cumming ![]() |
Most of them there are just pretenders - If you see football lover, you would know. Even the one that raised his hands may not even know what was going on in the field of play. I like seeing vibrant and inspiring people in position of leadership. Even Biden himself sometimes looks lost and confused. |
LP fighting corruption hands down ![]() If you take our money, you vomit it - LP I like what Peter Obi said in US when he went there to seek for support. He said he would protect every kobo and penny from donors the same way he protected the shareholders fund in the companies he served as chairman and protected State's fund when he was the Governor As at last count, three State chairmen of Labor party have been sacked because of misappropriation. You cant misappropriate donor's fund like the way other party's functionaries are doing - PO |
Morocco can rival most EU countries in terms of development. The country is as developed as the western world in terms of infrastructure. But poverty still dey there sha. Reason why some of them are still trying to migrate to Spain and other EU countries |
Nigerians and jealousy!! Lots of Nigerians, especially the wealthy are jealous of the people traveling out to improve their lives. The rich and the privileged wants to see the struggling ones and those they are better off remains in Nigeria and worship them. In companies, some top ogas that are in their late 40s and mid 50s, with lower chances of adapting abroad, gets jealous once they see any of their lower staff in their 20s or 30s resigns to travel abroad. They instantly gets jealous, insecure and start forming adviser on why they should not travel and remain in Nigeria so that they will continue to take the nonsense and the typical naija show-off from them If you are struggling here and very uncertain about your future and career, please japa. The future uncertainties in Nigeria much. |
afribookorg:You no well i swear ![]() So Nigeria is now synonymous with corruption? But the response of the Norwegian official was topnotch. Professionally written without ridiculing Nigeria |
Just imagine being waylaid on this road at night by Fulani herdsmen or unknown gunmen or kidnappers ![]() E go hard to see this kind of vast land in Anambra without some form of economic activities going on in and around the road and surrounding town. |
PDP forcing people into their campaign council. Was Adeleke even consulted before they assigned the role to him? He even looks so disinterested in the job. Apart from Emmanuel Udom of Akwaibom state, I haven't seen any serious politician in the south campaigning for Atiku |
