These people saying toothbrush and boxers, I hope they are not married. I don't even know which ones are my own toothbrush and the ones that belongs to my wife...neither does she. We have like five in a toothbrush cup holder and anyone could use any....I don't know which one is mine....except if she finishes brushing with one and I want to brush, I would pick any dry one in the cup, which she may have even used yesterday.

As for casual shorts and T shirts or joggers, she uses mine, wear some of my t shirts and short joggers.

My kids are here playing their hearts out; learning how to write the best of letters. poems and readings - these are the added skills I want them to develop. Not to go to school environment and starts learning the usual subjects and being taught by the same set of teachers; Here, they are learning all the house chores, washing their plates, loading their clothes in the washing machine, getting extremely comfortable with the use of computers for productive activities and running errands for me and their mum that involves collection of change after buying things - sounds funny - they are getting used to money and the change system - not the one taught them in school. My 8 year son, before he goes out to buy something for me, he would do his mathematics well to determine what the change would be - I will send him on errand that will warrant him to buy multiple things with cash and be able to pay and come back with the correct change. else, he would repeat the errand.

Schools no go see my leg with them during the summer holiday.

This is what I have come to notice in Lagos and Nigeria. It is not just the bustop shelters but parks and green field areas. You can't go to any open park in Lagos without being afraid of strange faces loitering around. This is what you get when you ignore human capital development. Structures don't build societies....it is the quality of humans....reason why there has to be a mind set shift among greater population of Nigerians. The human quality index of majority of nigerians is terribly low. For those surviving on the streets, public infrastructure and good ambience makes no sense to them. Drive through Marina down to CMS and see how that road has been turned to motor park with all kinds of agberoism and thuggery going on, on daily basis....a supposedly high brow area with concentration of corporate head offices.

Trust me, if one uninformed and backwards person was the president during obasanjo's time, he wouldn't have signed the presidential power, permitting the issuance of GSM licenses to mtn and Co. He would have regarded GSM as not being good for every body. Obasanjo beats all the presidents after him hands down.

I just don't know why Yar adua didn't allow Soludo to proceed with that plan....Soludo did a solid job in planning for naira. For reasons best known to Yaradua, he rejected the plan and went ahead not to reappoint Soludo....Reason why Obasanjo remains the best. He gave his team the opportunity to see through their plans andprogrammes. Yaradua or any northern president wouldn't have allowed the 2005 banking consolidation to happen.

Tinubu should not try the policy now. It is long outdated.....it would have been good if Soludo had implemented it then..... lots have changed since then, both at the micro and macro levels.....lots of economic determinants. The ship has sailed...Tinubu should explore other economic alternatives.

Being an Optometrist doctor, the woman may be higher than him in social standing. My wife usually comes back to apologize whenever she gets me upset and I "failed" to react negatively. She would apologize deeply, pamper me well and tried to regig the union. But anytime I reacted harshly, she distances herself. We should all endeavour to understand our spouses, especially how to press their " mumu button" to get what we want and have a stable union.

Yes, our parents really did try their best. The painful thing was that my sister passed both the common entrance exam and the subsequent interview but was given FGC Sokoto. My parents really tried to even get some where near, FGC Odogbolu (Ogun state) but it didn't work out.

My sister, now a Rev.Sr. and a consultant psychologist keep saying she was depressed throughout secondary school because she didn't make it to FGC despite her brilliancy and it got worsen, whenever our neighbour's daughter came back home from Queens College on mid term breaks and end of term holidays. It was at that tender age, she realized the injustice called quota system and harboured that anger until she spoke about the repressed anger, when she went for personal therapy during her doctorate program.

What a story! My respect to her.
May the good Lord continue to enrich her in His vineyard. Making that solemn vow is not an easy thing o.

Actually in 1989, it was out of 600 because my eldest sister sat for it and scored 534 and our state, (Imo state) cut off mark that year was 523 and highest in Nigeria, while the old Gongola state was less than 200 as we had a neighbour who was from Mubi (Gongola state) whose daughter scored less than 200 and made it to Queens College Lagos while my elder sister didn't get FGC Ijanikin that was her first choice nor FGC Okigwe that was her second choice but was compensated with Federal Government College, Sokoto ! Imagine sending a 12 year old from Lagos to Sokoto by road way back in 1990......my parents did waka to them and got my sister enrolled in a day secondary school in Lagos.

You just summarised the dedication and commitment some of our parents showed in the 80's and early 90's about their children. I did my own FGC common entrance in 1990 and was admitted to FGC Maiduguri because I didn't meet the Anambra State cut off for both Kings College, Lagos and FGC Enugu, which were my first and second choice, respectively.
My Dad was moving up and down from Anambra to Borno state for change of school for me and to get letter of release from FGC Maiduguri. Luckily, I later sat and passed the entrance exam of one of the most prestigious Catholic school in Nigeria. That was how I skipped FGC Maiduguri and went to Catholic school.

I will rather use Asaba than to use the Anambra airport to come to Anambra. Asaba is just two minutes drive to Onitsha compared to the Anambra airport. Most importantly, I fear the airport road leading to the Anambra airport. Pray not to be stranded there at night. Don't know why Obiano had to take the airport to that remote area known for violent crimes and community clashes.
