Going to UK is just an opportunity for her to jettison you. It seems she was not into you before and this her new found freedom is making her arrogant. I am sorry but you know the type of woman you married. I have a friend that works with a power company in Nigeria. The wife is in Canada and they always talk all the time via video calls. The other time, the wife was crying, showing her picture and their 1 year old baby to the guy, saying she was missing the man badly and that the place she is in Canada is just too lonely for her. She was asking her man when he would be coming for a visit or plan his relocation to come and meet or join her. That is a true woman missing her husband. But in this your case, it seems to her it was a good riddance to rubbish. No atom of respect. Imagine calling your wife 15 times and she did not pick with that lame dock excuse? Honestly, I feel for you. I am not suspecting anything but her behavior is out of it. |
There are always jobs for you if you have the basic qualifications in mental health. Lots of Nigerians are taking that career path considering the peculiarities of western societies. Mental health is a big issue there. |
Romanoff:Absolutely correct. See all the adverts from banks, they are mostly in IT field. Most IT staff are moving to Canada to become project managers, Actuarist, business analyst and change management specialist |
Oyibo and simplicity Call one Nigeria interior decorator now, she/he would occupy those spaces with fugly looking heavy sofas and thick dinning table, wall papers and heavy curtains. We still have lots to learn from these people. They always have class of touch in all their works, especially the artisans. Their finished work is always superb. I love my interior to have lots of space. Not occupy everywhere with furniture |
slivertongue:The ones that came to Nigeria, how far with them?? Volkwagen came, how far? Steyr Motors, how far? Anamco, how far? Even Peugeot is currently standing one foot. They have practically left Nigeria Nigeria have killed lots of dreams and companies through useless economic policies. |
Max air cashing out - back to back. If you know, you know |
This payment for crowds to gather at rallies, is it even real? I doubt it. How could one pay money to thousands of people to gather for an event. Nigerians are jobless and majority are doing nothing. So, any opportunity to attend political rallies is seen as an opportunity to go and wind time. I dont know. I am just saying. |
This would be a great achievement. I do not know how conservative UK would be able to stomach the fact that their PM is a person of color, who is neither a christian nor an LGBT nor someone with allegiance to Church of England. But the Sunak guy looks and talks smart. He may likely lead the tories to another victory in the general election in the next two years. He seems strong and determined. Lord Steimer of Labour party is not yet ready to challenge the conservative for the PM role. |
The new normal. As you dey commit crime, make you dey video the crime. I don't know the mindset behind this act one videoing his crime at the crime scene, knowing that it would be used against you. |
RIP Even your father's PDP loot couldnt save you. ![]() David Mark, powerful military general under IBB then. |
Very soon, Zi Ji Pin, the Chinese president go dey appoint Inspector General of Police and Attorney General of the federation for Nigeria. Make China take over make we see if e go better for country people |
There is so much money in Lagos. Some commissioners and head of agencies are in control of more money than some State governors in the North. I wished all these money could work to transform the city. The infrastructure here cannot be compared to its contemporaries in other countries. |
US and hypocrisy. If their own company was found guilty by another country and levy this hefty sum, they will come after that country. US companies around the world have been paying ransom to some non State actors to protect their investments in the host country without being charged by another country. Well, this is West affair. It is left to Emmanuel Macron of France to protect companies registered in his domain. A US president would never allow any country impose that kind of fine on any US entity. |
Chijeep:Go and chill. What has what you wrote here got to do with the topic? Your type is demarketing PO badly. |
wirinet:She does absolutely nothing in my house. We took her in just to relieve her poor parents the burden of raising her and her five other siblings. She's just an adult figure that will stay with the kids when I or myself goes out. She doesn't cook neither does she do laundry. She knows how to operate the washing machine and goes on small street errands for my wife. She is not your typical house help girl |
You just described what normally happens in a typical Nigeria local church bsettings. Very common here in my parish. My wife knows my stand when it comes to my house girl. You will never know that she is my house girl. A 14 year old girl. Every Saturday, I give her money and my 9 year old daughter to go do their hairs before next week Monday school. She wears nice clothes and never lacks cosmetic accessories as my wife gives her her own and other personal hygiene products. My people, especially my Igbo women, house girls are humans and should be treated with dignity. |
UK and scam!!! There own is to collect and once they see that you have started benefiting proportionally from the system they themselves created, they will instantly change the rules of engagement in the middle of the game. Lots of migrants Nigerian families would be stranded in the UK in the next five years to come. |
In as much as we want you to succeed, you better sit your ass down and focus on the real voters. I don't like all these your globe trotting. It won't add anything to your voting base. The voting is here and not in diaspora. Penetrate your opponents bases and keep selling your ideas and vision to them. Abroadians won't give you a single vote. I come in peace |
Part of Nigeria's corrupt political system. The massive PDP loot could not save his life RIP |
Harkstetunz:Yes, you are correct. |
Why not look up for opportunities in chemistry education? Secure the PhD in that area. After that, you may pursue post doctoral research in energy storage chemistry. You have a very good GP. Or you could start reading up research materials on energy storage chemistry and see how you could publish two or three papers in a peer review journals in energy storage. Publish on Popular ones. It may cost you money, but once your paper is published on those world known journals, it adds to your portfolio. I have forgotten the name of that journal but it is based in Netherlands. Tree is the logo of the journal publisher. |
I was once a victim. I was descending down Oshodi and a call came from a client that I have been pursuing for long. I did not have my hands-free with me and i immediately picked the call. I did not know that a police team in black jeep was following me. They wore a tag, "anti-one way" from the office of the Governor. They blocked me and insisted I settle them. They were all looking mean and I was already tensed, not wanting to miss the appointment with the client that just called me and neither was I feeling safe in the midst of those policemen. We drove to the Diamond Bank branch close to the Northwest filling station along that Oshodi expressway and gave them N100k, which was what they insisted on collecting and I zoomed off. |
No 1 point for me. Once you start showing complacency or uninterested in the affairs of the company, your exit is around the corner. OP, please include lack of integrity. Some workers in Nigeria lacks that. Warren Buffet captured what you need to see in a typical worker - Intelligence, Energy and Integrity. If the last one is not there, don't bother about the first two. |
Brendaniel:You just spoke my mind. That's what people don't know. When you talk about structure in the Nigeria political settings, it is all about structure for election rigging. Obi and his team should focus more on the areas his popularity is low. But sadly, he has continued to campaign in areas where his popularity is high. |
My client did this to the wife of one of the company's Engineer that died on his way to the rig in kwale, Delta state. However, madam resigned just after two months. The MD asked her what she wanted, she said she would prefer business and would like to relocate to the state where her own mother was residing. The MD set up a provision store for her in Onitsha, her preferred destination. She left PH with her two kids to Onitsha. |
Mr. Ednut, I heard that the cost of living is high in Toronto. My wife picked a college in Toronto for her studies but I had preferred Manitoba or Saskatchewan |
My refusal to relocate is because of family ties. I have a strong and lovely nuclear and extended family that is difficult for me to leave behind. My wife has been on this relocation thing for years but I have refused. Now, I have agreed to her demand to move but I will still stay. She will most likely move with the kids but I will make sure they come home every year. I still have an aged and recuperating parents that needs my attention. Anytime I traveled to see them, I could see the warmth and joy in their faces. I could not wait to leave UK after my masters in 2010. I love my family, culture, my village and friends. Nigeria's insecurity and uncertainty is driving everyone crazy to take that decision of leaving. People should be allowed to leave as there are fewer and fewer opportunities as the year goes by. |
Nigeria is just too chaotic and unliveable. You can't just walk on the road in peace without the menace of okada and keke drivers. Our roads are too dangerous for pedestrians and motorists. |
See two most powerful Nigerian Generals and Head of State, going through some form of old age- related sickness. This life sha. We should just take things easy. Power is truly transient. |
People are here, castigating Obasanjo. The man remains the best president since the inception of the fourth republic. The rate of recruitment from 2002 to 2008 has not been seen in decades. I was opportuned to have graduated within that time and had plethora of aptitude tests invites from corporate organisations. My father's business was equally doing well. Likewise my cousins that were into trades and other businesses Now, companies hardly recruit because of economic crunch and the difficult business environment. Joblessness is an at all time high and the government seems clueless on how to tackle it. |
It doesn't change anything, we will still japa according to most Nigerians ![]() But on the second thought, why do most Nigerians abroad always try to discourage folks back home from traveling abroad? Even some well to do people here also don't like to hear that one struggling fellow or brother is about to leave for greener pastures. |
SimpleGuy001:Hope you have minimum of 2.1 and have strong aptitude for numbers because the first three organisations you mentioned up there don't take any thing below 2.1?? All the best. |
