Oyo State Govt Reopen Schools, Observe COVID-19 guidelines

As the terminal classes in primary and secondary schools in Oyo State reopen for academic activities today, one could observe the strict procedures stakeholders had put in place to combat the spread of the virus among students.

As early as 7.30 am, students and pupils were seen trooping into their schools with nose masks and shields.

OyoAffairs went around to see how the schools were responding to the directives from the taskforce.

While speaking with one of the Teachers at Abadina College, University of Ibadan, he said that the students in JSS 3 and SS 3 have been distributed in all the vacant classes in the school to ensure distancing among the students.

Oyo Affairs also observed that the benches for pupils were marked to create boundaries while sitting.

A parent said that she wore a face shield and even added a mask for her daughter. “I am very particular about my daughter’s safety because I don’t want her bringing any coronavirus home.”

In Olivet Baptist School, Oyo Town, Washbasins and liquid soap were placed at the school entrance and in strategic positions in the school.

There were also boards with directives on how to observe the guidelines. Some private schools in Ibadan placed washbasins, hand sanitizers, and liquid soap in each class.

OyoAffairs gathered that the classes and offices had been fumigated weeks before opening to resist the spread of the pandemic.

I had a girlfriend some few months back before the covid 19 outbreak, that was after we went home from school due to the strike and the pandemic, we both are in the same school which is IBB university lapai, in our final.

So at home this faithful day, I put a call through! We both were talking, laughing on phone, so she ask about my mum, I said she was fine and she now ask abt her loneliness because no one at home, I told her but I'm still here with her, she ask what if school resume and what if we should go for our service next year, she now told me to marry another man for my mum.... lol... telling me who knows" that my mum might like the idea if I should table it with her. Gosh! I actually laughed about it then on phone with her but inside me, it wasn't funny at all.

The next day, what she told me was still bordering me, so many things were just running on my mind...so even if by mistake I wife her in future and the Lord decide to take me when we have a grown up child like me, who is planning on becoming a graduate this year and have even spent 30 years in marriage already....she won't even mourn me for long before accepting another man's proposal or bleeping with another man or probably her one time ex.

I decided to ask my mum with play, mum be sincere to me, you and my dad have been married since far back 1986... U both were in marriage for about 30 yrs before he past away few years ago, may his soul rest in peace..this is 5yrs now are you considering on marrying any one or having any kind of body movement or even can stand the presence of another man in your life?

Guess what her reply was....
Mum said my dad was the only man she know in her life and that's how it going to remain by God grace, period! and I shouldn't ask her such again with cry/smiles on her face because she has me and I will give her groundchil........

Seriously I don't know why I brought this here but pls tell me, any girl that can ask a 52 Year old woman to re_marry even after she has a child, isn't it clear that she can't stay without having sex to anyone as long as her husband is on a peace keeping mission or even travel abroad?

Stop putting blame on people. Thoughts and prayers don't do shitt. Drugs work better than prayers, u don't need to cry your eyes out or shout more for the effects of drugs to work.
Wherever drugs, healthy food and medical care don't work, forget it prayer is a waste of time.

in Islam parents are highly responsible for their children and wards under them. Pls allow the man do as he please, he isn't going to hurt his daughter. she is under his care and will account for her on judgement day. Pls don't spoil another man's family, u are only a random boyfriend who might eventually use,dump n spoil d innocent girls life.
I'm myself dating a Hausa lady and I know n accept that the father can chose to marry her out to any man he wish and I can't question that. Even though I love her, I'm not going to tell her to rebel against her parents. I repeat, don't spoil things for other ppl, u r not responsible for this girl and u can't change that. Cultures vary a lot, u can't impose ur cultural views on others

I feel like you’re not understanding where I’m coming from. if the person is visiting for a day or two. Then, It’s not out of place to ask.

But if they are living with you (which is what a prolonged visit is) will they ask for permission for breakfast, lunch and dinner for everyday they live with you? Think about it.

Being inconsiderate is a totally different conversation. Like if they eat everything without thinking of others. That’s different.

But if they eat like a normal person would, bearing in mind that they are living in the house with others, there’s nothing disrespectful about it in my opinion.
