PoliticsRe: The Best Democratic President Nigeria Has Ever Had by FrankC3: 9:58pm On Nov 02, 2012
COOLDUN: Can you tell us any election that was conducted under Umaru Musa Yaradua? Please argument s are for the people with real facts and not followers. Give us more facts about the election under him? I am waiting.
if you had read the post you just quoted, you would have noticed that Ekiti State re-run election was mentioned. Even Yar'Adua mouthed more electoral reforms than anybody else but there was no action. It took GEJ to send Maurice Iwu on advanced leave and appoint Professor Jega as the first step in his electoral reforms.

I advice that you read posts next time before quoting them.

PoliticsRe: The Best Democratic President Nigeria Has Ever Had by FrankC3: 11:49am On Nov 02, 2012
Yar'Adua may be a good man, he might have mouthed more 'rule of law' than anybody else but when you compare his democratic profile to GEJ's, you'll see that GEJ comes top.
UMY ran El-rufai and Ribadu out of this country to exile. GEJ brought them back, gave them a free field to make their own choices and today, El-Rufai champions Anti GEJ camp and Ribadu even ran against him in last election.
UMY entrusted the finance related offices in this country to his brothers, some even his cousins. From finance, national planning, accountant general and the revenue source of the country- NNPC, ALL to Kano-Kaduna mafia.
UMY partnered with Ibori who is corrupt while mouthing 'rule of law'. GEJ ensured that 'rule of law' prevailed.
UMY made no serious commitment to electoral reforms. A democrat will NEVER allow him self to benefit from flawed elections. Heck! He even accepted that he was rigged in but remained in the office. What a contradiction. GEJ not only reformed INEC, he also subjected himself and his party to the same rule as anybody else. All elections conducted by UMY were flawed. Ekiti rerun and others come to mind. Compare that to GEJ's record. Remember that electoral reform and flawless elections is the foundation of democracy.
Under UMY, National Assembly was almost an appendage of the executive because the funds were flowing. Under GEJ, all the noise we hear now is because a major 'cut' in 'supplies'.
GEJ decided to honor real democracy.
This is not an attempt to talk ill of the dead, but it doesnt make sense comparing the two. Besides, as at today, both have spent about thesame leght of time in office. GEJ's performance in the areas of actual transparency, rule of law, seperation of powers and democratic institution building is not rivalled by any former leader.
PoliticsRe: Senate Shocked By Nba's U-turn On Constitution Review by FrankC3: 10:27am On Nov 02, 2012
Eehhhm...Senator, i agree with you that consensus must be built, but with what? Ghana-must-go bags or ideas? The FG has an entrenched algorith for generating crude benchmark for years and this has always been approved by the NA. Why the conflict in this year's? Are you not approbating (because you approved values gotten from this model last year) and reprobating (by rejecting this years value)? Ok. If you have issues with the crude price for example, don't you think that a serious NA will need to take a look at the model that gave the value and criticize it? Why grandstand with the President?
Deputy Senate President said the other day that you guys are co-managers of the economy, at thesame pedestal with the Executive. You understand the Presidential system, it that really true? If the economy fails, who do we hold responsible? Senate or executive?
Whats this new trend of always lambasting the President's aides? They have failed because they don't roll in wands of cash like the ones before them?
You guys should smell the coffee. Things have changed. Aunty Ngozi has even made it difficult for the President to spend a dollar from the budget without being detected, so you can forget about free money. Your jumbo constituency allowance is enough.
The NA should redeem itself and grow above pettiness. Do your work and let the President do his without expecting gratification. NA makes careless statements about everybody- the executive, Judiciary, civil societies and professional bodies like the NBA but no one talks. Now when a body like the NBA makes an input, you people will start crying like babies.
Learn from the President. Listen to all opinions, learn from them, adjust your system when necessary and move on. This is democracy!!! Not autocracy by the senate.
PoliticsRe: PDP Begins Preparation For Anambra Elections, Warns Turkur. List Of Candidates by FrankC3: 9:43am On Nov 02, 2012
When the time comes, each of the candidates will give us an account of the last offices they held. I wonder what Ngige will have to say.
Soludo is the solution Anambra is looking for. We need a man that thinks with a global perspective, not street manager personalities or pure politicians.
Dora is also credible, but sometimes petty. I don't know if she has outgrown that.
Andy Ubah has not really been tested at an executive level, and despite his bad press, he comes across as likeable but i wonder whether that will gain him the Anambra govt house.
Madam Stella is doing very well, but in my opinion, her presence is very valuable at the FEC. She seem to have the ears of the President and seems intelligent. We need her as one of our pillars for now. Maybe, after Pres Jonathan, she can come home and give it a shot. I wouldn't mind a woman at the helm.
For others, i don't think they are ready for now. They should engage in more community development initiatives by partnering with govt and serving politicians. By so doing, they will build trust and we can validate their passion for the state.
For me, if the election happens today, i will use my money and means to push for Soludo candidacy because i believe he is the solution!!
PoliticsRe: PDP Begins Preparation For Anambra Elections, Warns Turkur. List Of Candidates by FrankC3: 7:26am On Nov 02, 2012
Which Ngige? The one that promised to do something that will shake the country?
Soludo it is!! If PDP don't make him their candidate, he should just move to Labour Party and with GEJ's free and fair elections policy, i know he will win. Soludo is the man with the big picture perspective that Anambra needs now.
PoliticsRe: GEJ Will Change Nigeria.....for Better Or For Worse? by FrankC3: 6:49am On Nov 02, 2012
Prof Corruption: GEJ is destroying Nigeria, period. Let's give him red card in 2015.
Yes, he is 'destroying' Nigeria with the way he is blocking and exposing all avenues that has been enriching some few for ages and those few have repeatedly called themselves the 'owners of Nigeria'. He smartly changed the tactics from focusing on individuals in anti-corruption wars to addressing institutionalized channels for corruption- PHCN, fuel subsidy, Pension, Police funds, civil service payroll automation, e.t.c. and from the hues and cries of people like you and Farouk and petroleum marketers and NNPC contractors, he is suceeding. We will soon see an institutionalized solution to the petroleum industry, where the minister of petroleum will be able comfirm the days LNG output or crude just a mouse click from her computer or even iPad.
The National Assembly is not finding it funny cos the 'Ghana-must-go' is no more exchanging hands. Funds are now better accounted for and the system being put in place now ensures that embezzlement at NCC flags red at Finance ministry and a number of other agencies network.
The 'clueless' tag has reduced. The 'retardeen' tag is dying down. Now is the age of 'corruption incorporated' but 2015 is still far, it will surely die down before then because GEJ have a way of addressing such issues.
Once again, i agree with you...Nigeria is being 'destroyed'. This is so that the foundation will be reworked and it IS being reworked.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Accused Of Annexing Rivers Oil Wells To Bayelsa by FrankC3: 11:00am On Oct 31, 2012
The funny thing is that the report is not suggesting that Rivers State (which should be protesting) is making this accusation but an Ijaw community in Rivers State. Should the boundary commission place the community in Bayelsa, they are still not losing since they only need to change their state of origin while they gain more by being in the same state as their Ijaw brothers in Bayelsa. I think Rivers should be protesting if anything like that happened but definitely not the community.
Somebody is just being michievous. The case has been on even before GEJ and many states have similar boundary disputes and there is a procedure for handling it within the NBC which a sitting President cannot even change. These procedures were put in place partly by the North to ensure they retain their upper hand and consolidated by the democratic rule under OBJ. The President does not have much powers on his own in states boundary matter.

Duke_Nija: Femi Kuti remains Nigeria's number one entertainment Celebrity.
I was shocked when I saw his profile.
His voice was used in the Video game 'Grand-Theft-Auto'.

But I expected Chimamanda to be higher in the strata.

Achebe is Still the Greatest African Novelist Ever.

A Nigerian Man rejected a Million Dollars for the Use of his Book in a movie??
Now that Speaks Volume about Value.
Not really the book plot or storyline...just a random three work clause first stringed together and 'patented'- Things Fall Apart- for 1million USD. That guy have my respect anyday, though it is not worth much considering the profile of the man in question.
PoliticsRe: Rumour Of My Arrest Spread By Dirty Politicians – Wife Of Oyo Gov Ajimobi by FrankC3: 8:05am On Oct 31, 2012
honeric01: Since you're so sure of this, can you show us any pictures of her arrest by the police in UK? if possible, the pictures of the money recovered from her? not too hard to provide since you have been the one telling us how SURE you are that she was arrested.

We're waiting, shame ACN, same haters and prove this.

Thank you mr globe
And while he is at it, you, honeric01, should show us the pictures of the arrest and loot of Segun Oni, Alao Akala, Fayose, IBB, Uduagha, etc. Picture is all that matters now...
@Madam Ajimobi, what school is your 15 year old daughter attending? What school resumes from long vac on October 28th? Since your husband took over from former Gov Daniel to fix Ogun, including the education sector, why not bring your daughter home to show confidence in your husband's education reform? Or even to Aregbe's state 'adjudged' the 'best' by some guy like that. Just forget about your mission to UK, tell us how many foreign trips you have undergone since your daughter took office?
For ACN folks, it is not enough to accuse Madam Jonathan for foreign medical trip or President Jonathan for many State Visits, it cuts both ways. You can't badmouth the PDP for doing something while you are doing exactly thesame thing. Hypocrites are worse than thieves.
I await Alhaji 'Lie' Mohammed to issue a press release condemning this, after all, 'Ceaser's wife should be beyond reproach'
PoliticsRe: FG Reopens 3rd Mainland Bridge Today by FrankC3: 4:39am On Oct 31, 2012
mbhs139: Kudos should be given to Messers Borini Prono and their team for making the feat achievable. Was it GEJ that was mixing the cement and concrete?

Even if the project was not completed on schedule, it couldn't have been his fault either.

Project sponsors, from my knowledge of project management, can not be blamed for late delievery on schedule. Neither can they be praised for project completion on due date. Due credits must be given to the project team. So, who ever brings in GEJ into the discussion in the first place does not know what he/she is doing.
Are you really sure that you are into Project Management? Why then do you blame the Project sponsor for Benin-Ore road, '16billion dollars' IPP under OBJ, National stadium overgrowm by weeds, poor performance of Nigeria at London Olympics and subsidy scheme management, ALL which qualifies as projects with same person as sponsor?

Anyway, how else could he attract fund to his office for 'emmergency management' if not for this king of alarm. It is all about what to grab from state coffers and watch Fash oblige him cos it is one big cordinated scam.

PoliticsRe: Budget Crisis Deepens As Ekweremadu Blasts Gulak, Jonathan’s Aide by FrankC3: 2:36pm On Oct 29, 2012
Somebody should remind the NA that it is the job of the executive to engineer and manage the economy while the National Assembly is there to appropriate funds to drive the executive policies, not to provide the policies themselves. NA cannot get budget from the President, throw it aside, come up with their own, approve, send to the President to approve and in the course of the oversight, monitor its execution. That is not Democracy. They need to study the writings of John Locke on the philosophical basis of Democracy.
I just wish that the President will put on a steel boot and crush some political skulls. This guy's humility is being taken for granted by these folks.

SERAP has been known to be an extention of 'Lie' Mohammed's office. I am still stydying others.
Madam DAM, please continue your stride, their complaint is akin to that of Senator Zanna against JTF. Your employer understands what you are up against and you have a job description. You set up the committee, you gave Ribadu's team perspective to their job as well as job description, you asked KPMG to audit NNPC, and it is still your job to reconcile Ribadu's report which was set up to study Nigeria Oil Industry and recomment a more efficient, accountable model for systems and processes and that of KPMG which is more about identifying financial leakages. Some of us are still behind you because we understand what you are up against...
PoliticsRe: OBJ - I'm Getting Tired Of Politics by FrankC3: 3:39pm On Oct 28, 2012
Biggyd2: Didn't he say that winning is a do or die affair for them? What's it with this sudden change?
OBJ never said that. Don't be deceived. I watched the forum where that audience was granted live and re-watched it severally. Actually, he was trying to emphasize what the then upcoming election mean to Nigeria, that it may make or mar Nigeria, not what the Lagos Press made it out to mean eventually.
If you think otherwise, you can reproduce the interview, from the first word to the last, not just the section.
PoliticsRe: Achebe Wrote Out Of Ignorance - Gowon by FrankC3: 10:10am On Oct 28, 2012
We have heard you Gowon. My father and uncles were in the war front during those difficult days of Igbo existence. I have heard this story better from a gallant, brave and upright man, who told this story from the perspective of a warrior in the forests of Abagana fending off invading federal troops while your men execute air raids on our market places, churches and even streams. My father told me how your troops lined up every male Igbo child(most who were as young as 7) in Asaba and execute them at close range ONLY on the charge of beign Igbo. We remember the quotes of Adekunle and Awolowo. We heard the justification of key elements of your government that starvation is a legitimate weapon of war. I heard these stories, saw the destructions, felt the scar on my dead uncle's waiste before his demise and spoke to men whose charge was to defend our land, women and children from the Russian powered air raids in churches and market places. I also heard about this wonderful man called Ojukwu, who met you in Aburi and reached and agreement with you on the way forward, which you, Gowon, reneged on after seeking counsel with your officials and known tribalists.
I concluded long ago that you are not a man of principle, Mr Gowon. Today, you are praying and tomorrow, you justify Igbo massacre. Biafra is presently happening in Jos and Maiduguri. It has happened in Odi and Zakibiam and promises to go round. If you had honored Aburi accord, Gowon, your people in Jos will still be alive, Maiduguri would be peaceful and Odi and Zakibiam would not have been left wailing.
While you pray, Gowon, pray with your eyes open because of one Nigeria. But don't come insulting each of the Igbos who are directly affected openly with this nonsense. We knew who you were 40 years before Achebe wrote his memoire and but we thought that you have matured over time. Sadly, it was not so...
PoliticsRe: Fashola Trying To Throw Acn's Goodwill Away by FrankC3: 7:40pm On Oct 27, 2012
ACN folks are very interesting...
Mr. president 'bans' fuel subsidy- they remind us that the president rather figt corruption in the sector and allow the masses to 'enjoy' the only thing they can from government, they tell us that the removal is unjust and must be resisted by every 'sensible Nigerian'. The ACN gov Fash even went on print media to tell the President why he should allow the Protests to continue and not stop the masses 'before whom we all danced and begged for their votes before election'.
ACN gov bans okada- ACN folks tells us how wonderful it is and the ACN government tells us the number of vehicles the bike men destroyed while protesting. They tell us that the law has come to stay and that if you are not comfortable with the law, you should relocate to another state. They even tell us that bikes don't run in UK and US, as if petroleum in subsidized those places.
Talk about hypocrisy and double facedness...
PoliticsRe: Open Letter To Jagaban (tinubu) Of Borgu-bayo Adeyinka by FrankC3: 7:07pm On Oct 27, 2012
@OP
Help me tell the writer of this epistle that they are wrong. We are progressives, educated and highly sophisticated to allow that to happen. Right now, we have a strong 31-man online Youth Wing ably led by the 60 years old Gbawe. Also in the team, there is Demdem, dayokanu and Prof Corruption, all doing an excellent propaganda warfare against the ruling party thereby diverting attention from the failings of our party.
For other issues you mentioned, Jagaban's reply to you is 'watch and see'... In 'our' party, our philosophy is simple, we rather criticize the President about corruption than talk about the money LGAs contributed for Jagaban's birthday. We are also not talking about Aregbe and his O'whatever policies, but we rather shoot down the President's policies in the Petroleum sector. We are not interested in how we empowered the NURTW and area boys but we focus on PDP's amnesty program. That way, we win because we know that SWners are very 'sophisticated' and so can not take notice.
Thank you for you concern, though it was uncalled for.

PoliticsRe: Ribadu Report, Plan To Embarrass Government - Presidency by FrankC3: 11:54am On Oct 26, 2012
The issue is that people started this campaign against DAM even before she took office, when there was really nothing on her. Why was that? Are we sure we are not fighting alongside a very complex international mafia against our own interests? If you ask them what exactly did DAM do, they will tell you that NNPC is corrupt. This same people will work so hard to pin LATSMA excesses on LATSMA and not on Fash or Transport Commissioner. This is a far bigger battle, oil marketers, IOC, buyers of stolen crude, owners of refineries abroad where Nigerian crude is refined before shipping back are involved and all seem to be singing the same song that subsidy must stay and that DAM must go.
GEJ must go on and get this job done with. For the @Gbawes of this world, we know where they stand. I only pity the comon folks who are just fighting blindly.
PoliticsRe: Fg’s Revenue Hits N1.02trn by FrankC3:
The question now is who is trying to misinform Nigerians all these lies? Who really is working this hard, to the extent of forging documents to make the NNPC and other departments of Petroleum management look bad? Who stand to benefit from these lies and propaganda? I think the very people that spearheaded smear campaign agaist DAM appointment as oil minister are still very active, doing everything in their power to make the hunter become the hunted.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Report, Plan To Embarrass Government - Presidency by FrankC3: 10:11am On Oct 26, 2012
I have no doubt in my mind about GEJ's determination to take on big challenges, like the rot in the oil and gas sector. An unserious mind would never had engaged a Ribadu to probe the sector and the period under probe ends in 2011, so there is no need to 'cover up' anything. Issuance of oil bloc licenses is a privilege the law empower the President to execute. To have the will is one thing but to execute it is another thing.
Dr Abati has been a baggage to this administration. He is a reactive person. He seem to think that his job is more to respond than to define. There is no reason on earth to call this an embarrassment because if the administration did not want to be 'embarrassed', they would have appointed a Fani Kayode to head the committee. Yes, for those who don't understand how government runs, reports are meant to be harmonized because the assignment is given with a perspective in mind but my problem with this particular one is that Abati is trying to chatsize the leakage. This should be played out big time. I need to see the end, but if anybody is covering up something, i need to see the person roasted. And for Abati, this reactive release has eroded lots of confidence and he should be replaced. He seem not to be speaking for Nigerians or the Presidency but for some other interests.
