FunnyDude:
Reason why I laugh at people shouting start a business. Most people doing well in business are fronting it. They have shady secret they won't tell. Nigeria isn't favorable for legit hussler.

Know this and know peace
This is not true. There are lots of people doing well in genuine businesses without shady secret in Nigeria. The growing businesses may not tell their business secret to avoid loosing out to competitors.

While asking questions here is okay, one needs special ability to be able to discern scammers. Majority of the active business guys the op wish to tap ideas from do not have the luxury of time to be on Nairaland. Instead they concentrate all their efforts in making the businesses grow.

One is likely to see more investors and passive business men more here. It is also easier to pick business ideas from stories and discussions silently when you have not drop any amount on the table. Once you mention that you have money here, the next thing will be all manner people trying to scam you.

I do not see any reason why the op will say he want a business he can do and some one will say he want to help him manager the money. When he did not ask for a money manager. Even those that will say they want to partner with him. If there don't have any idea for him as required why not pass over the thread ?

It's a dog eat dog market. They sell you anything they manipulate from their end, if the rate doesn't match your expectations they take long in reselling and crediting you.
Even at that, I think investors may still have options of bidding. In their banks available bonds, rates and prices are displayed most times. I believe if you choose a particular bond to buy at a particular rate and amount they would have no option than to either get it for you that way or leave your money for you.

It should be his mother, daughter, sister and the wife. The wife's would be the longest of the hugs so no need to rush her or keep other people waiting. Probably from there to the bedroom to freshen up.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Can I Be Employed As A Full Time Staff With A 3rd Class Degree? by freeman67: 9:55am On Jun 23, 2021
mikaael:
I work with a one of the major company in the paint sector...
I have been working there as a contract staff for 3 years but now i applied for a vacant post in the same company for a full staff role....

My question is will I be considered for a full staff role even with a 3rd class?

I have done written interview and i passed
I have done one on one interview too but I'm expecting the reply....
I'm only scared if my 3rd class certificate will be considered....
And also....I am almost through with my post graduate degree

Pls advice
Working there for three years as a contract staff would have availed them the opportunity to know your other areas of strength where you can contribute to the company other than just your certificate.

On your part: Except if you were not giving your best as a contract staff, you did not learn on the Job or you could not convince them in the interview that you are you understand what you have been doing. Nothing should stop them from hiring you.

On their part: Except they have special interest in the new person coming if you were interviewed with other people, want to spend more money and time in imparting the knowledge you already have from them or they see you as not been able to demonstrate to them that you have learnt while there. You should be a good hire to them.

Your Certificate is not the only way to test your capability and suitability for the job. Depending on the role you are meant to play there, for your three years as a contract staff, they would have examined other areas like:

- Your attitude to work. Are your punctual? Do you take given assignments/responsibilities serious? Do you complain on necessarily when assigned tasks?

- Your abily to lead and be lead. Employee not matter how low on the cadre could still be entrusted with leadership role.

-Your ability to deliver or learn on the job where applicable. Do you complete your given task to the satisfaction of your boss?

-Your relationship with your colleagues. Are you cordial with your colleagues? You may not necessarily be friends but at least can you work with them and achieve needed result for the company?

-Then your relationship with the client/customers of the company...

When there is not collateral, be prepared to either lose your money or the friendship.

You can see how Heritage Bank was begging Andy Ubah to pay back their money, because there was no collateral
Yes as a business guarantors or collaterals are very necessary.

In Andy Ubah's case, I think Heritage banks management was either not diligent enough or had fringe benefits from that lending. Going by his track records, no lender is supposed to do any transaction with him except of course his is either naive or intend to get something in return that would not be tied to them.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by freeman67:

Do you agree with him
Not completely. Situations that brings about lending and borrowing are not absolute. I will say yes, where a person or people have a track record of being perpetual debtors. However, some people might just be genuinely interested in borrowing for something serious with genuine interest and laid down plans to refund it too.

The apps looks good. I saw an Investment One staff and her husband rating the app very high in their review section on play store. I wanted to try them but I couldn't transfer money to them even when I saw it as part of financial institutions in my bank app. I have also got calls from their CC too. However, I have not been able to invest through them.

I don't mean politics where the politicians allawees are higher than their salary.
I mean genuine salary earners who don't engage in illegal activities to make extra income at their workplaces?
Yes it can. But that would mostly depends on
how you save, invest and spend. How much responsibilities you have to cater for. Leaving below your means, not allowing undue influence from peer pressure etc...

Access offered around 5% for 182 days T bills.

The Branch manager was pleading that we do fixed deposit at 3.5 % that she had fixed deposit targets to meet. Isn't that laughable?

Please assuming we had 50 million, what's the best way of doing T bills with it?

By bidding directly through banks or firms? If yes, which bank or firm is the best?

Or buying secondary market from banks, if yes, which bank is the best?.

Considering general TB rates at the moment, the 5% Access gave you for 182 days seem to be fair. The last primary market auction successful rate for that tenure was 3.5.

Yes having 50 mil qualifies you to bid by yourself. If you can project/time it very and your bid is successful you will be glad you did. However, if it is unsuccessful then you will have to wait for a fortnight there by wasting time without any guarantee that you bid will successful.

For me, I use banks mostly. The banks I use mostly before now was FBN and Stanbic IBTC. However, I do not know what is happening with them of recent. While firstbank seldom accept requests these days, Stanbic IBTC will always accept but will only inform you that their bid was unsuccessful a week after the auction. I am thinking of porting soon to another bank.

As for buying from the secondary market, you can check sterling Bank and union bank to see their rates. If what's on their I-invest and M36 app is something to go by the rates there are not too bad with the current TB situation.

You aren't comparing foreign stocks with local Tbills right now, are you?

You need to compare investments at similar levels of risk. Either you compare Nigeria Tbills with Eurobonds or you compare NSE with S&P.

Secondly, why are you looking at investment horizon of just one year lol? I can pick several one year periods of S&P that will flaw your arguments right now.

Lastly ain't no 30-50% correction happening on S&P. Do you understand what it means for 500 top U.S companies to go down 50%? What indicators are you looking at to predict this kind of occurrence?

You should know more than this brother.
Eurobond is not same as TB and as such should not be compared too going by your logic. It is only foreign TB that should be compare to NTB.

In a debate arena which is what you guys have turn this place to, everybody pick points that will make them win.

Man this is utterly senseless, see a handsome young man just wasted like that? are these people causing all these havoc even aware they are killing our Igbo brothers in uniform? Chei what's happening to my land Bikonu embarassed
Later your people will start complaining of being marginalized again. Now they are decimating their own numbers in government by killing them for nothing. They had more control of Nigeria in every aspect but blew it away on one man's ego in civil war.

Yes, very resilient. They brought themselves back to compete for the top which is what very good. Now Instead of applying tactful and strategic by using the advantage they have now to gain other advantages like others are doing. They intend to squash everything on selfishness and ambition of another one man again to damage the gains they have achieved.

Na them dey majorly sell slot that should be for their people for in civil service. Yet you are complaining of having few numbers..Na them go drag their brother down for office pass because they feel they are maybe more qualified to occupy that office.

They never accept to do things together with even themselves because of ego and selfishness. Senate presidency was zone to them from 1999 to 2007. You can see how easy it was for them to be easily schemed and replaced. Such scenario has never occurred since then.

They will never agree to produce one candidate from within themselves to all support and lobby other regions to support him. Instead everyone will want to pursue his own personal agenda and scatter the table. How then will one succeed with this kind of attitude even if he is to form his own country?

In order not to litter this page with repetition, all you seek in on page one. The definition and purpose, and means through which you can subscribe/be part of it. I don't know the area you are not getting.

However, if I may add, you will first of all open an account with an active accredited stockbroker on operating on the Nigeria stock exchange (NSE). It is through that account you will apply/request for subscription. I don't know the city you reside; in cities like Lagos, Abuja and PH you can easily located one physically and open the account. However, there are several Stockbroker through which you can open the account with online; like Morgan Capital Securities Limited, Investment One, United Capital/Investnow and lots more.. The list of the accredited stock brokers by the DMO is on page one of this thread.

Most of them most times, will require you open the account with funds while opening but even if they don't, you will need to pay money into the account for your desired use/investment. The minimum you can invest is N5,000 while the maximum is N50,000,000.

It is issued once in every month with 2 tenures of 2 & 3 years except where/when the FG through DMO decide not to for a reason.

The interest rates are stated by the DMO at the commencement of the issue. So you do not get to decide that.

How this helps...
