I don’t think anyone gives professional investment advice here.

Knowledge sharing is different from professional advise.
grin grin grin Very true. Discussions here only open investors eyes on how to navigate. It does not shorten what the professionals actually stand to benefits but instead direct more people to their corner...

I don’t understand how this is related to the question I asked sir. I simply asked if you would come here to give free professional services if you were an estate valuer that depended on providing such services to feed your family. That required a yes or no response.

I think it is extremely selfish for anyone to feel they can come to a forum to get free professional services and save costs at the expense of professionals that depend on providing such services to feed their families. Some of those professionals actually comb these forums looking for work.

To be clear, sharing and exchanging knowledge on an online forum is very different from seeking free professional services online.

You don’t have to agree with me on this sir.
Oh now I see. I guess the investment advice given here freely will also be affecting the revenue of investment professionals too...

To be honest, nothing has a specific not even land of all things. I don't have enough knowledge of the area you guys are about but most of the prices quoted for land most times are just the handwork of Agents. If a buyer is patience, persistent and deligent enough he/she can get what other think it's impossible how they think can never be done. It all depends of the information you have and your bargaining power. The only thing is just to have a way of verifying that you are not buying it cheaper because it is not genuine.

Hello guys, I am new here.

Please advise - Is Stanbic Ibtc money market mutual funds a good investment? I am thinking of investing in it. Please advise.

Thanks in advance
Stanbic IBTC Money Market Fund is a good investment. Very legal and all that but interms of returns, these days it seems to be about the lowest in that industry. Even when the rate for treasury bill is increasing, their rates is still around 1. something %. Someone has about N5,800,000 there now and his daily returns is just around N160 - 200.

Sorry I have never used ARM but I have read where someone stated in this forum that their redemption and customer service is very good. Though I sent them a mail for enquiries afterwards but didn't get any reply.

From what I heard, except one wants to go and bank the Dollar in US Bank that's when the higher denomination is better. If the traveller is to spend it there, the lower denomination is even better.

Nigerian BDC operators however prefer that politicians that love to stores Dollars.

For people looking at very low risk investments, Union bank recently lunched the M36 App.

You get to have a dedicated wallet with an actual account number

And you have the options of investing in Tbills, bonds, commercial papers etc...

Below are some rates as at today.
The app is telling to transfer all my contact after signing up and wanted to log in. Why should I do that when it is not as if I want to collect loan from them? When I choose the option of not transferring it refuses to open.

In march, I observed that Stanbic IBTC, GTB and Access Bank debited charged stamp duty for cash deposits I made by myself to my account. Cash deposits to own/self account has been exempted from stamp duty charge for all the CBN correspondence I have seen since 2016 and the last Finance Act 2020.

I have contacted the 3 banks. I contacted Stanbic IBTC online. They apologized and reversed it but while at it, another one happened.

I contacted GTB online they acknowledged it shouldn't happened but did nothing more so when I went to get ATM from my branch I spoke to them about it and they made a request for the reversal from their HQ then asked me to meet my account officer to follow it up.

For Access Bank...hmmmm right from the days of Diamond that my account get ridiculous charges with reversal. Even though I have never wanted to be an Access Bank customer, I thought the situation with them will be better but it went worse especially when they are about to release result in march. I couldn't not discuss with them online because I hardly get resolution there.
I went to my branch and before I could open my mouth they said that it is CBN charge and everybody is aware of it. I try to tell them it doesn't apply to self cash deposits but it fell on deaf ears.

That's why I am asking. I know I will close that account but I just want to know if the other banks are wrong or that Access Bank Stamp Duty Charge is desihned separately.

This is correct. Although, Morgan Capital have never sent me this...or maybe I am misunderstanding the context again.

Well, your views are respected. You contribute your wealth of experience here, you are not perfect but I also learn too, but I think this is an aspect we do not need to reach any agreement.

Let people do what their risk appetites agree with.
I don't know the services of Morgan Capital Group that you use. For me, I deposit my money in my account with them and use it to buy stock by myself. The only thing they do for me is to provide a vehicle "itrade" through which I trade or invest and I pay them for it by way annual payment of N2,500 and their commission on any transaction I made. They do not invest my money for me or trade with my savings and pay me interest. So I have never bothered to look for or ask them for their result. I only expect to see any amount I left unspent in my stock broking account whenever I open it.

For Stanbic IBTC Asset Management and United Capital, I entrust them with my money to invest for me. So I requested for their report on Monthly and quarterly basis.

you also joined or started commenting in this thread because you replied to a person, right?

I understand your skepticism, however, not all of us are interested in becoming active contributors. Besides, is this now a clique thing as I have suspected? A less frequent contributor cannot have an opinion that goes against the norm?....

That aside, stanbic is publicly traded company. That should be the standard, I use them too. As I said above, fintech may eventually evolve to that stage, they give feedback to their users already so....let's see how it goes.

Also, a digital wallet is what it is...a digital wallet. You could look it up. Piggyvest is not only mentioned here, unless I am wrong. Crowywise provides bonds, etc. Some provide stocks etc

In closing, let people invest as they please. No one is forcing, people are just sharing their opinions for others to make educated guess. I am surprised that the criteria for opinions now is if a person is a consistent contributor. If I had agreed with you all, would you suspect me?

FYI, as I said, I use both old and new - Stanbic for mutual funds and Tb, and the fintech as digital wallet and for US stocks.
Sorry, if this does not meet you well. I was not particular about you when made that comment. I sense I may send that wrong signal. That was why I even removed your post that I quoted. My first 2 - 3 of paragraph of that comment was in response to you.

However, the last 2 are general comments. I noticed the same thing here earlier especially with the MBA stuff. Anybody can choose when and how to enter a thread no doubt but I am personally sceptical when it's thrown into everyone's face. That's just all.

Which one is digital wallet na? When there receive deposit and also invest on customers behalf?

Like they (piggyvest) said, they started as a bank app (piggybank) and then graduated to an investment app. Even as a bank, they are supposed to be releasing quarterly report for investors and customers. This will enable them to have an idea of what their money is used for, know how their investment is faring and probably aid them in deciding whether to add more, hold or withdraw from the investment completely. The only thing I see them do is offer mouth watering rates to investors. That's not good enough.

Stanbic IBTC asset management send me monthly report on how their funds faring. I wanted to attach that of February 2021 but I couldn't and I don't want to start littering everywhere with screen shots.

Someone could be marketing anything anywhere on Nairaland without issues even if the product is not convincing enough and it will still be surviving but the fastest way to kill it is to bring it to this thread in an attempt to hoodwink unsuspecting investors. The person will make the bubble burst before it's time.

It's okay that newbies come to seek ideas but it does not sit well with me too when an investment is mentioned and you start seeing name that are new to the thread trooping to convince people of what they themselves are not completely convinced about.

Piggyvest said they started operations as piggybank in 2016 but decided to change to the present name to give investors opportunity to do some themselves.

Their investments interests as was displayed there in their app is in Agriculture (Animal Husbandry; Cow and Chicken rearing, Cashew, rice and corn farms), Real Estates ( This one seem to be in the offing for now because nothing was displayed there, Transportation ( Packaged Okada like Play) etc.
All these investments are fully booked. I don't know if there are other areas they invest people's funds in. Anybody will be scared of non - registered "bank".

Personally after installing that app and trying to go through what they have to offer on other platforms, There have not satisfied my inquiries. They only thing I see people gunning after is high savings interest rates. So I will personally passover.

Like I see the house doing as usual. Trying to probe for truth to be revealed. It is a very good thing. Nobody is casting any aspersion on the fintech industry per say. Experienced people are just looking out for the newbie.

Some people have the financial muscle to loose ten million or even more and nothing will happen to them like Oga RayRay of MBA. That doesn't mean people should keep quiet and allow that man that made 2 million from block molding to venture into such business. It means the overall aim of this thread has been defeated.

I don't understand why everyone is angry here.

So she lied about her salary. And then what happened?

Without her salary, would he still not provide for his family? Would he still not take up majority of the financial responsibilities of the house? Would he still not act in the title of man of the house?

So why is her salary the bone of contention here?

The only thing I see here being an issue is her demanding her loan for the car back. She offered that money willingly and shouldn't have requested for it. Otherwise, everything else is nonsense.
Her salary is not the bone of contention completely. However, it is part of it because other things she is normally supposed to take care of for herself by herself aside the normal house responsibility is shifted to the guys corner putting more pressure on his income. Imagine as little as sanitary pad would be paid for by the guy. And she goes to work not a complete house wife ooo. He would have had moral right to tell her to take care of such things without feeling guilty.

Because human desire grows according to their earnings, she discovered that she needed a car which is in no way a bad thing. However, the guy said he was not bouyant enough when she requested but she insisted and requested to loan him the money instead. Then she start pressurising him for refund and All these was because he assumed her salary was meagre.

is the Dividend paid per Unit or Per shares ??

CC: Emmanuelewumi

thanks
Its correct and as simple as he said it. 1 unit is 1 share. 10,000 units X 8.1 dividend declared = N81,000

As said earlier, no WHT so all the dividend is your to keep.

If we are to go by the closing price of 68. 60 per share closing price for Friday 19/03/21 which was the last trading day, that is about 11.8% dividend yield.
