This was one of my musings growing up. Now in my very late twenties, the dream looks utopian, quixotic and unrealisable. For I have no house of my own let alone one to give to the poor free or rent free.


Life can be uncertain.
The vulcaniser in his fifties, on the street, could have aimed to be wealthy but it never came to pass.

The 40 year old truck pusher could have struggled to be rich but it was never to be.


Life, some say, is best lived in the early 20s. For after then one might start shouldering responsibilities. This is worse if the family is not wealthy. And if one doesn't earn well, one might find oneself in a rat race, a vicious cycle wherein one lives from paycheck to paycheck-- with little or nothing to save and being stuck.


These days I am always downcast, thinking about my life, unsure of what the future holds. Indecisive. Uncertain about which option or decision to take. Many times , I have thought of migration from the East to Lagos, Abuja or even Canada.

"Pray to God for direction, they counsel.'

I have prayed yet nothing.
Does God really care?.
Are our affairs his concerns?
Is there anything like predestination or determinism?
Are some people designed or destined to be poor?
What does the bible mean when it acknowledges ---- both in the old and new testaments-- that the poor would always be there?

But wait, could some be termed rich if there are no poor?
How could be one be said to be tall if there are no short people?

I am confused, very.

How do I get rich and help people too?

How?

Really tired, I am.

Don't be in a hurry or desperate about wealth

It's only God that gives riches that can last forever

If you are not destined, nothing can be done even if you go through Rituals

Struggle hard and leave God to bless the work of your hand

I know this question sounds ridiculous, I've been working for the past one year, my monthly salary is 150,000 making it 1.8m PA.

the funny thing is I really don't have any savings, am not the fashion type neither do I womanize, so that's not where the bulk of my money goes. Am currently in a relationship but she doesn't demand so that's also not the cause.

I tried putting aside a certain percentage but that didn't work, the thing is at the end of the month I write down all I've spent my cash on, I can't seem to find the one I would've done away with or the one I'll say was a waste.

Am also the youngest, so no responsibility for me..

My immediate elder sister is being abused by her husband. Early in the marriage she lost one of her teeth while being beaten by him and it continued like this till early this year when he broke her hand in another fight with her husband. He has battered her and broke her hand in the process twice. The marriage is just nine years old and he has been abusing her none stop. The one that happened around march was so bad that my sister was already making plan to quit the marriage before he came begging with my uncle and his mom. I and my brother threaten him but he called us on phone and pleaded with us that he will never beat her again My dad is late and me and my only brother who's also married resides in the northern part of the country while she and her husband are in the southern part. She really wants to leave the marriage which my family is now in support of because of the beaten so she doesn't get killed by her husband but the problem now is how to go about it with four kids to cater for knowing fully well that child welfare doesn't work really well here and she can't leave any of the kid for him because of motherly love and my family are not well to do. Please, Nairaland land, I really need your advice on this because he just beat her again last night and it was a terrible beaten from the picture she sent to me.
