Update On The Wife Battery Case: She Went Back To The Abusive Man

What's up people? This is an update thread on the wife battery case. This one might also be a bit lengthy, so bear with me. Lots of people have been asking me about the case, and I had to make this update to fill everyone in at once.

So about two weeks ago I brought an issue here about my neighbor who usually watches my four-year-old boy for me.

Just a little summary. She's a stay-at-home mom of two with a nursing baby and a boy who is my son's age. I used to leave work to pick the two boys up and take them to her house while I return to my office. I didn't know this before, but her husband is a very abusive man and my son unfortunately witnessed him beat her to near death twice.

The second time, he was the one that called me with her phone and I came and took her to hospital.

The issue then was that she didn't want to go ahead with the police case my husband and I filed for her. The man nearly murdered her and threatened over the phone to kill her if she ever comes back to his house. We had the call recorded but she insisted that he was only angry and would calm down soon enough.


She begged us not to call her family or report to anyone, that she can handle it by herself. One of her friends came to help her in the hospital while I took her one-year-old girl with me. I actually insisted.

So that terrible incident happened on a Friday, while I created the thread on a Sunday. On Thursday, the evil man finally came home. He hadn't called once to ask of his children. His son David was in the hospital and wasn't even going to school that week. I had to take the little baby to my office with me, and my only luck is that she's not the feisty sort.

He didn't come over to my house to check on the girl. I wasn't even sure he knew that she was with me. A fence separates our house and theirs but I heard his car rev in for the first time in days.

My husband and I had decided to bring her family into the case rather than just let it die off like that. We contacted her elder brother without her knowledge and told him everything. They are local people but we felt he would be more enlightened than others. He told us he would take things from there and that we should go and withdraw the police report. At least, we had done our bit and cleared our consciences.

My son kept asking me when David would resume school, but I told him to let David be with his mom. I didn't know how to tell the kid that he wouldn't be staying at David's house after school again. I can't have him in a toxic environment. I'd started picking him up and bringing him back to the office with me, and that's how I intend to keep things for now.


The lady came home last Friday, after about a week in the hospital. She called me everyday to ask after her child and I visited once with the baby while she was still at the hospital. She still has bandages on her arms and face and still can't open her left eye properly. She came to my house in the evening with her younger sister to collect her baby. I noticed she was embarrassed. She just said a word of thanks and demanded for the girl. I packed the girl's things (even the ones I bought with my money) and handed her over.

Before she left, she told me not to worry about David anymore, that she would start going to get him herself. I told her that even though my son returns to my office with me now, I can still pick up her son because I have to pass the street's entrance on my way back to work. She could be waiting for him whenever I'm about to drive by. She said no. That she'll be fine.

Well, we did our bit. We took some pieces of advice here and got her family involved. But we withdrew the police case for peace to reign. The woman has vehemently refused to take her life and kids seriously, but we've done our best. I don't know what her brother did, but I think he spoke to the lady's husband. I remembered seeing her on Thursday when I went to get my son from school. She was waiting to pick up David. I greeted her and offered them a ride. She refused, saying she'll order an O'Trike (Keke Napep that's like Uber).

Well, everybody should dey their own dey. God knows I've tried.

Thank you all for the advice and genuine guidance. For those who were more concerned about my son because of the violence he witnessed, he's fine. He misses playing with David and Sandra, but my network admin has two boys aged 5 and 8 who also hang out in the office after school. At least my son gets to play with them in the conference room. He's happy and I'm keeping him occupied with activities so his mind won't switch on those memories. My husband enrolled him in a new kids' football club and they go to play on Wednesday and Saturday evenings.

The best security a woman can have is her own gainful source of income. If that woman has something doing, I'm not sure she'd go back to an adulterer who beat her with the intent to murder. Women, please be careful with your lives. Think about your kids. If you die, who will look after them? Don't let society pressurize into marrying beasts.

This issue is one particular issue I get tired with women who does not have a voice of their own or an option

The stupid culture is not helping matters, where they will advise the woman to remain in abusive local marriage

Women should brase up and defend themselves, if its not working out, walk away, your freedom of peace when you are alive is more important to you but your freedom at death is more important to your family because they are the one to Bury you

Get out of that house and do something that will earn you a living in case the animal in your husband comes out

And for you men treating women like a trash bin, you will get your rewards at old age when you can no longer help yourself, thats when you will know that women are good at revenge

In secondary school, there was a time my parents had about 4 cars. One day, someone asked me, "which cars are for your dad and which ones for your mum?" I was confused! That was the first time I came across the school of thought that some things are for the husband and some for the wife. In my innocence I replied, "all the cars are for my parents."

At another time, my husband and I were chatting with some undergraduates on a campus and one of the ladies said that it's generally believed and said that 'he' money is our money but 'she' money is my money!

These two scenarios beg the question; what does the Bible say?

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Genesis 2:24. (Check out Matthew 19:5-6, Ephesians 5:25-33)

God sees the husband and wife as one flesh! They become one. Only a crazy man will say, "this home theater belongs to half of me, while the deep freezer belongs to the other half of my body!

There is also the issue of married couples having separate bedrooms. I am still trying to wrap my head around how one flesh will sleep in two different bedrooms at the same time!

Another common thing among many others that fights against God's concept of one flesh in marriage is the issue of 'privacy!' So a man/woman puts a password on his/her phone( which is not a bad thing especially if you have kids like mine!) but the spouse doesn't know the password nor pick the phone when it rings or beeps.
Genesis 2:25 says And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

The word 'naked' also depicts that they had no secrets from each other. Neither had any skeleton in the cupboard that they were ashamed of. Yes, this was before the fall. Before the first Adam fell and we all fell in him. The good news is that the second Adam (Christ) came, did the will of the Father in restoring us to Him because no sin was found in Him!1Corinthians 15:45-49.

Marriage is God's idea. He has a blue print for it as found in the scripture. You can't go in with your own rules. If you do, at best you would have a seemingly okay marriage which will not glorify God nor cause Christ to be formed in you or at worst, a crashed marriage. Choose to do it God's way.

Well properties in marriage belongs to the couple but you as a man will not be too free to use any property bought by a woman and with a woman's money

Women tends to be over protective of what belongs to them more than men do

But then for you to enjoy and make claims to a property bought by your wife, that means you have made up your mind from day one not to hurt her in any way

You have made her happiness and love, your priority

You are ready to defend and protect her before your family

Having done these things, you can claim that it's for the family and she won't react

But you have to be very careful and extremely careful with the way you handles it

My dear working, running the house chores with the responsibility of taking care of 2 children ain't easy, sometimes I just want to take a break from the house and ease of the pressure I feel everyday but I can't leave my children

Don't mind them, they just want you to contribute and don't talk about it

The men are full of tricks, if they want to do any project, they will involve the woman and seek her opinion just because 80% of the money is coming from the woman but once a woman has nothing financial to contribute, they will just be informing you of the project and you won't be part of the ideas needed

They just want their wives to be mugu so that they can have their ways in every sides

My sister, URE not far from the truth I swear, Just this morning as I was washing outside,I placed my baby in the walker just beside me, only for my hubby to come out and say, Iya Sanusi, (not real name) , go and wear socks and overall for the child, the weather is cold bla bla bla, I asked him what was wrong with his hands, and even if he was ironing, he could have left what he was doing and wear proper clothes for the boy, but na lie, he started boiling telling me if the child falls sick, he won't do anything and nothing must happen to him, I fired back and asked him to shut the hell up, telling him not to tell me what my job responsibilities are as a wife, I told him if he can't wear the clothes he wants for his own child, then he should leave me with my duties while he faces his own....

What I'm trying to say in a nutshell is, truly the pressure that comes with child rearing/ breeding and responsibilities can make a woman/man supposedly change in marriage

Exactly, only few men understands that mother's need social help

Do you know that him putting on the socks for his own child because you are busy would have gladened your heart that moment

And there won't be need for any form of argument

At times, we hide our secrets from the eyes of the enemies so that they won't know what to attack

Every good thing has its own negative impact and positive effect

When you marry an intelligent woman, you are guaranteed that she is intelligent and you don't need to start teaching her things she ought to know

She will put your kids through with their home work even before you come back from work instead of the assignment waiting for you

Hello nairalanders. I have this colleague who was always sleeping in the office around july. He often complained of muscle and joint pain with dizziness and pain in his eyes and both sides of his head. Sometimes, he would be complaining of slight headache and abdominal pain.

I asked that some test be run by him, including an XYZ just to be sure. He did all that and all was negative except typhoid which was inherent in the diagnostic report with negligible malaria. He was placed on a broad spectrum ciprofloxacin. He was feeling relieved after which the symptoms came back.

He went back to the clinic and was placed on Zinax, a higher antibiotics. 2 weeks later, the symptoms came back again and this time, the dr asked him to repeat the test and still repeat the XYZ. As usual all came out negative except thyphoid. This time, he was placed on augmentine. In short, he completed the recommended dose barely 2 weeks ago and symptoms have returned as I speak . Yesterday, I asked that the test be repeated for the 3rd time same as usual. Please medics, pharms and traditional medics in the house, what drug can he use to get rid of this stubborn bacteria?

He has accumulated typhoid in his system, it needs to be flushed out through anti biotic fluid drip like, flagly and the rest

He needs to be off work for that to be done

Government should just be employing the disabled corpers its not easy going through the challenges for them

Your age shouldn't be a barrier, the most important thing is your passion for medicine, you will come out successfully if you commit your time to it

You don't need to go for service because you have done that before

Mere seeing his picture shows that he is into drugs

In as much as your parents need one of their children to stay close to them, you don't have to be the sacrificial lamb

You can rent an accommodation close to where they are living or the same neighbourhood

No matter how nice ur wife is and how good your parents are, they must quarrel if you live with them in the same building and when that quarrel starts she will make sure you feel the hotness

Besides you guys just got married and you need your privacy to enjoy and explore yourself

Living with your parents will bring somany issues that will lead to Unresolved quarrel with your wife

Pls follow her advice in this respect for peace to raign in your home

My 8days old baby boy sucks breast too much , like he wants it every minute and wife is so exhausted , funnily , my baby doesn't like being covered , removes cloth from his body every time and always dragging himself from the mattress , the way he grabs my wife's breast is crazy even from the day he was born , we hardly sleep at home and this is really affecting us , what can we do please

New born have nothing else to feed on except breast milk

Boys can suck for Africa

They don't mind sucking every 30mins

Your wife have to be on constant beverage for her to have enough for him

Even the breast milk has no solid in it to satisfy the child for up to 3 hrs

I suggest you add an Infant formula so that he can get filled and suck in between meals

Excessive breast feeding weakens a woman if she does have enough provisions to keep taking

My nephew will be turning 16 in 2 weeks and he wants a smart phone. Personally, I think he isn't quite matured to have a smart phone, or I think it might distract him. The young man has gone on to prove me wrong and he is good with phones.

Now I have decided to buy him one, but one not too expensive but can attended to his phone needs, basically good camera and battery life. I'm not sure he has too much need for storage, but a decent storage is okay. Kindly advice on a suitable phone for him, I need to get the phone and present to him as a birthday gift at his house party.

I got a Nokia touch light for my son at 16yrs so that he can make calls

When he was 17 this year as he just wrote his weac and made his papers, I bought an android phone for gin to be chatting with his alma mata, well I told him that I don't want to see nonsense in his phone

He password his phone and use his finger print to lock it, I don't have issues with that


Anytime I feel like going to his phone, I ask him to open his phone thst I want to view his chats, I go straight to his gallery and see if there is any naughty picture there

I will advise if he has finished his waec, you can get him a phone

The issue of small phone with camera is not working out because an android phone is an android phone and can do what other android big phone does

The difference is the phone capacity

Tey and get an android phone that has 2GB capacity for a start
