PoliticsRe: "Emperor Tinubu": Akeredolu Says Mimiko Is An Ingrate & Disrespectful by fuke(m): 5:50pm On Jul 25, 2012
Battle of the opposition. grin grin grin it promises to very interesting. Iroko v Baba Agbero with Akeredolu as bus conductor.
Again, what is Tinubu's own in Ondo? What is his interest in Ondo state governorship?
I support Mimiko to win. Tinubu should not be allowed to annex the entire south West and pride himself as leader of south west.

Too late.

Tinubu is already the leaden of the West and the Yorubas in particular

Most NL doesn't knw what it takes to be a col. in nigeria Army. His record has been stained for him to have been fine by military court shows that he has comitted an offence

No, he is not fined by court Marshal. He will just pay the LASTMA fine.

His record is intact.

I agree with you, it is not easy to be a colonel not only in Nigeria but anywhere.

@ Okotame

@ Poster and All: You guys need a little more exposure. That is how all invitation letters from SSS, EFCC or Security agencies are written. I have been invited by these outfits twice and the same words were used un edited. They will maintain that you are the one to interview them. I rejected the EFCC letter in 2010 and they sent me a reminder stating the same statement. Guys get close to any law enforcement agency and you will know that that is the correct syntax in their discipline. No body should try to argue with me blindly.
Yes, you are right but only for the first paragraph.

The second paragraph is ambiguous.
It will not pass grammar scrutiny or grammar test.

Prophets are suppose to make government be on their toes.

Predicting change of government is not knew. Go read the bible.

Honestly, can we continue like this for another 4 years?

PoliticsRe: Army Investigates Colonel’s Violation Of BRT Lane by fuke(m): 11:37am On Jul 19, 2012
oiseworld:

for the fact that he is on uniform then, he's on duty.

i have said it before and i will say it again, the brt lane should be renamed the emergency lane. For all military men, police, ambulance, governors. And people on special duty.
That was hypocrisy on the part of fashola, when those roads were built, the brt was not considered. Take a look at the ojota/yaba road, it was initially a three lane road and still had serious traffic.i mean Heavy traffic. Now that the brt has come in, most time that lane is left empty with long queues of cars in traffic struggling to share the the remaining two lanes.
looking at the blockage of the third mainland bridge, i would have expected the govnor, to open the brt lane for more road users, but NO, his stubbonness and hypocrisy won't let him.

Lastly, it is the biggest insult on the part of the governor to come and threaten a colonel in the Nigerian Army, On his Nigerian Army Uniform, in an official Nigerian Army Vehicle, in Nigeria for a soo called offence he foolishly put there. Its disrespect like this that call for military take overs. That colonel would have been the governor of Lagos State in a military setting.

I think this issue should be looked into.

Nonsense.

Soldiers should be respected but first they should respect the law.

What kind of up-sided logic is this? Colonel=governor?

there are generals who never became governor.

However, I want to say that the army should not take this further.

The profuse apology by the colonel is enough atonement for the offense.

Those talking about dismissal are talking gibberish.

You want the colonel to lose his commission for a mere traffic offense.

You all are not serious.

A sergeant should not lose a pip for a traffic offense.

All of you are making comments from one side of a story.

You should ask for the other side.

There must be a reason why a father of four graduates
decides to take a new wife.

Many of you do not know what women are.

I bet the man didn't take a new wife b/cos of gratuity.

If he had money to produce 4 graduates he surely had money
to have 2 wives and forget about training his children. '

There are men like that, many.

One thing I have found out in life is that it is very easy to be ungrateful.

The children can do what they like, the law of karma is there.

It accepts no excuses and takes no apology.

You will get same when Akeredolu comes on board in Ondo State,

By the time Tinubu is through with his agenda for the Oduduwa people, the west will become an eldorado.

The editors are not only lazy, they are GREEDY.
What stops them from employing Yoruba graduates/lectures to do the subtitleshuh
The improved films will create bigger market to other non-Yoruba people such that they recoup their extra payment to the professional translators and still have BIGGER profit. That is how smart people think- look at the BIG picture.
Those Mexican soaps that used to dominate our TVs in those days were properly interpreted into English. How about using that as our benchmark, something to strive forhuh

Nonsense.

Where was the captain when the crew were messing up the ship?

I thought in management they say you delegate authority but not responsibility.

Madam crude oil was the no 1 person in that ministry and if the whole board was found putrefied she must also be decaying.

She should go but GEJ has no political spine to do that.

Beaf, yes he is a foot soldier. The real sponsors are somewhere else and these are the ones GEJ should round up. Until they are incarcerated these things will continue.

SETTING RECORDS STRAIGHT.

For sure there are yorubas in both Edo and Delta.

1. In Edo you have the Akoko Edos .
These are blood brothers of the Akokos in Ondo state.

2. The Itshekiris have ancestral link with the Yorubas.
From their names, you shall know them. jide Orishajefor for example.
The Ilajes are of course bonafide Yorubas.

For the avoidance of doubt, we do not need to annex other tribes
to take our place in Nigeria.

EducationRe: Osun Distributes Computer Tablets Of Knowledge For Test-running by fuke(m): 5:15pm On Jun 12, 2012
Kobojunkie: Go Preach that bull to someone else, will you? An Initiative of this sort has, to date, not benefitted our Education system. Osun is not the first state to attempt this. Many others, especially during the Yar adua years have attempted some of the same plans. What has become of those plans? And how many of them have positively impacted Educated in those states? I can confidently answer that question for you. NONE!!! Many of these have been temporary boosts for a handful, who at the end of the day have had to deal with the main reality, the education system remaining the same as it was before their receiving of these gadgets.
We have to remind ourselves here that this is tax-payer money being used here, and this ought to be used to re-build the education system as a whole, rather than purchase laptops/tablets to give out to students, who at the end of the day, need a good education system in place to help them make sense of these new gadgets and the power locked in them.

I think we have seen about enough of these "initiatives" to realize this is definitely not the way around our problem.
What majority of these programs seem to be focused on doing, and continue to do, is seek ways to cut AROUND the major issue, slap a band aid, or more on the sores in our education system. The more we pretend another one of these will change things, the more valuable funds, and time we waste. The kids are not getting any younger, and their futures are not waiting for us to get things right first.

Do you ever ask yourself, I mean before you post one of these lines of yours, whatever happened with the many mega/modern/ginormous plans of this sort in other states. Or are you one of those who believe the secret to success is in the doing the repeating the same old failed exercise, over and over, expecting a new outcome with each and every turn?

There is nothing path-breaking about his attempts, or your attempts to blow air up his arse here.

Please always bear in mind that when Government embarks on these so-called "initiatives", the tax-payer pays. These Governors are not using their allowances for these. It is money from the state that is applied. And if nothing substantial is gained at the end of it all, the people suffer it. This Governor, and others, will get his pay check, allowances and extras at the end of the day.

I can fault his vision, because, like the one's you claim maybe building 6 stadia for a state with no football team or N7 billion to demolish a hill , this 'initiative' seems to be born of a lack of ideas on how to best tackle the problems in our education system. I mean one can also blindly argue that the 6 stadia Governor is spending on improving sports in the state, and someone will tell us that too. But we all know that is crock, and so is your claim that spending state money buying a tablet for each student is spending money on improving education.
I don't understand why most every one of these governors keep coming up with about the same plan whenever it comes to tackling problems in Education, or whatever other sector. Building of classes (how many of them are even in near good shape to date since we have been reading of governors building new class units all over this country), distributing computers purchased with tax-payer money, distributing free textbooks, buying new school uniforms, building yet another privately run school (primary, secondary, university) only go to painting a new color over the problem, and not tackling it. And this has been revealed time and time again, as the indicators still point to a system still in decay.
At times I do not understand how some of us reason.

Are you saying kwoledge is not enhanced with computer and internet?

There is a Federal government College in my time with all the ss3
students having a computer each and 80% of them scored more than 240 in JAMB.

Definitely this cannot all be ascribed to internet but it definitely played a role.

in developed world internet connection is taken for granted like air.
