thelastPope: You are spewing absolute nonsense. Isn't this the opposite of what you folks said about Amaechi and PDP? So why are you applying a different standard to ACN? You folks are pathetic hypocrites.
TechyGuy: For all we know, its ACN folks and their party leaders that won't leave PDP alone and actually focus on delivering.
Amaechi's issue is one of the latest, right?
Will U̶̲̥̅̊ sharrap there who will better be comfortable with incompetence if not U̶̲̥̅̊. Everybody is tired of d high level of incompetence, corruption and mismanagement currently going on in dis country. If it'll tk people like Amaechi to re-direct us to d right path he's welcm and he has our full support. Except U̶̲̥̅̊ are blind Fayemi has performed creditably well to deserve a second term. Anybody coming against him now is definitely anti-people and immune to progress. And that marks d diff btw Fayemi and our President who doesn't hv any blueprint for governance and development other than to witch-hunt those who oppose him with all d state apparatus. Its a pity Nigeria is in dis mess...SMH!!
Politics › Re: No Apologies For Endorsing Fayemi - Tinubu by funshint(m): 11:01am On Jul 08, 2013
Pls leave our Tinubu alone he's entitled to say and interfere in issues relating to his party. Some people are bent on dividing d party fabric in Ekiti state with their selfish ambition. It only makes a lot of sense for leaders like Tinubu to interfere and stabilize issues. ACN is not PDP where things totally fall apart in the clear eyes of their leaders. If anybody wants to challenge Fayemi in ACN; it is best such person leaves and forms or joins another party to actualize his ambition. U̶̲̥̅̊ shldn't break d party structure because of 'ur selfish ambition. No political party or leader will tolerate that. Tinubu is a man who has a strong track record of producing good, competent and people-oriented administrators. Its either U̶̲̥̅̊ guys are blind, unappreciative or overly be-clouded by jealousy. Tinubu is d best thing that has happened to South-west Nigeria in years. We know how to appreciate good things when we see one. We appreciate good leaders. We don't follow leaders blindly like how those mumus do in d North. We respect leaders based on their work and antecedents. Even your Ojukwu of blessed memory does not command d kind of respect Tinubu gets in the SW because his SE people fail to see beyond their nose. Its a shame U̶̲̥̅̊ pple can only honour Ojukwu with 1and a half state with all his influence and selfless pursuit for the liberalization of his people. U̶̲̥̅̊ pple have a very low sense of Judgement that's d reason why U̶̲̥̅̊ can't identify people of competence and ability as leaders. We respect good and competent leaders in SW. Why do U̶̲̥̅̊ think we unanimously chased out PDP?! Its because their evil and anti-people agenda is alien to SW. We are in d era of renaissance in SW, U̶̲̥̅̊ guys are still in stone age. Pls stop hating and deal with d host of gluttonous, evil, blood-thirsty and anti-people leaders U̶̲̥̅̊ are be-deviled with. God help U̶̲̥̅̊!

Danhumprey: I hate picking fight and quarrel with somebody online. You really didn't understand who I was referring to. For ur info,I didn't say the party should or should not find a successor. What I mean was,why should they have to find a successor? Why not leave the people(the electorate,Lagosians themselves) to choose who they want to govern them after Barrister Fashola is done with his tenure. The party are only to present suitable candidates to electorate and not to make it look as if they are looking for a godson,whom they favour,and force that same person on Lagosians as the topic connote. Let there be freedom of speech and freedom to elect their leaders. Clearly,you didn't understand who i was referring to as "the people". It's clear who is stupid now.

Rossikk: Firstly, even without 'pyramids' Nigeria is fourth in global peanut production, after China, India and the United States.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peanut

Second, stop this unnecessary nostalgia. Nations are moving beyond dependence on exporting raw commodities and cash crops. The emphasis now is on value-addition. You add value to your raw materials by innovation and manufacturing, and yield far higher returns when you sell the products at home and abroad, helping to boost local incomes, economic activity, and employment.

Instead of loading up raw peanuts in pyramids for export, create industries close to this source that manufacture stuff from peanuts:

''Paint, varnish, lubricating oil, leather dressings, furniture polish, insecticides, and nitroglycerin are made from peanut oil. Soap is made from saponified oil, and many cosmetics contain peanut oil and its derivatives.''

jiffylibra: The fact shows in your explanation that ACN did not have a landslide victory in 2011 election as we had in other SW state and it also shows that Ajimobi sought an alliance with Ladoja. That has said it all.but i know it goes beyond that. And remember, those house of Assembly members were bought to stabilise his government.Oyo politics goes beyond internet or NL. God be with us all, we shall be here to comment come 2015 about the outcome of the election and you and i will revert to our discussion. abeg i need to watch football. Thanks
You see i'm not wrong when i say you don't understand politics. Nobody said Ajimobi had a landslide victory; sure he didn't. As you can see the election result was close because the margin between ACN and PDP was slim all because of Ladoja/Accord. Ladoja's incursion into that race nearly gave victory to PDP by dividing the vote of the opposition. But let me tell you if Ladoja should align himself with Akala then he'll become politically dead and irrelevant in Oyo state because most of those who erstwhile had sympathy for him will lose interest in him. Infact an alliance between Ladoja and Akala is a very welcome development; Ajimobi should just go and rest because their union is already dead on arrival!!!

u must be high on alomo huh which Adeoyo Hospital?! That hospital that looks like a grave yard; is it not this present administration that just awarded N850m for its rehabilitation. You are talking about roads; u mean the poorly constructed roads built by Akala and that useless company called "KOPEK". Roads without enough space for pedestrian walkway, roads with dangerous uncovered drainages that are as wide as the roads themselves. Roads without street lights like; Total Garden-UCH-Mokola Roundabout road also New Garage-wherever road(i don't even know where that road leads to 'cos they just stopped it at a point of no where; normally it should have terminated at Ibadan-Abeokuta road). Even those that have streetlights have pillars erected like tower of Babel(Mokola Roundabout-Ojoo road)!! Lautech Teaching Hospital; Akala wanted to copy UCH but e no no say materials pass materials. One of the buildings fell down thus putting the quality of work and materials used to question. Infact if Akala had employed bricklayers am sure they would have constructed better roads than what he gave us. Yeye people!!
Politics › Re: Oyo-2015: Ladoja And Akala Teamed-Up To Takeover by funshint(m):
jiffylibra: YOU SOUND REASONABLE, BUT LADOJA PLAYED A ROLE IN THAT ACN VICTORY. IF IN DOUBT GO AND ASK ONLY IF THEY WILL TELL YOU THE TRUTH. BUT IF IN DOUBT, WHY DO YOU THINK AJIMOBI WENT TO SEEK FOR THE COOPERATION OF LADOJA AND AGREED FOR THE FAILED PACT? AND NEXT TIME YOU ARE DISCUSSING POLITICS, DONT PUT GOD'S NAME. I THINK HE IS TOO HOLY TO BEHOLD THE KIND OF POLITICS WE PRACTISE IN NIGERIA. POLITICS OF DECEITS. YOU ARE ARGUING LIKE AN AVERAGE NAIJA POLITICIAN. THEY DECEIVE THEIR PEOPLE BY USING GOD'S NAME FORGETTING THAT GOD DOES NOT HAVE A PARTY, WE ALL BELONG TO HIM, ABI WHICH PARTY YOUR OWN GOD DEY DO?, NA ACN?
Ajimobi had to form alliance with Ladoja then because initially the House of Assembly members were constituted as follows; ACN=13, PDP=12 and Accord=7.And this shows that ACN does not have a clear majority in the house thus making critically decisions difficult to undertake especially if it's not in the interest of the other parties. Also the result could spell disaster for the governor because an alliance between PDP and Accord in the House can put his office as the governor into jeopardy. Therefore he had to seek alliance with Ladoja/Accord in order to consolidate his office as the Governor and also in order to make decisions he so wishes to be easily granted by the house. This move was crucial then in other to ensure relative peace in the state House of Assembly as opposed to what we used to have before where the House was constantly in disarray which consequently hampered the growth and progress of the state. But now the equation has change because some erstwhile PDP and Accord members have move to ACN. Presently ACN now has a comfortable 16 members in the House thus having a clear majority. Thus the alliance is no longer needed.

jiffylibra: YOU ARE RIGHT, ITS OBVIOUS YOU LIVE IN iBADAN AND YOU KNOW ABOUT THE STORY BACK THEN. UNFORTUNATELY MANY PEOPLE COMMENTING HERE DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT OYO STATE POLITICS. POLITICS IN OYO IS UNLIKE IN OTHER STATE,IT IS MORE OF GRASSROOT HERE THAN 'FACELIFTING THE TOWN'. TO WIN ELECTION IN OYO STATE YOU HAVE TO BE WELCOMED AND ACCEPTED BY THE GRASSROOT. AND THIS IS WHERE LADOJA AND AKALA EXCELS BEYOND AJIMOBI. AJIMOBI HAS DESTROYED THE GRASSROOT( I STAND TO BE CHALLENGED FOR MAKING THAT STATEMENT). HIS GEVERNMENT IS MORE OF THE ELITES THAN THE GRASSROOT. WE CAN TALK ONLINE FROM NOW TILL ELECTION TIME, THAT DOES NOT CHANGE THE STYLE OF VOTING IN OYO STATE. UNFORTUNATELY, MAJORITY OF THE ELITES IN THE STATE(EVEN HERE ON NL) WILL NOT COME OUT TO VOTE ON ELECTION DAY, ABI, HOW MANY OF YOU HERE CAN AFFORD TO QUEUE UP IN THE SUN ON THAT DAY, MANY HERE WILL BE ON THEIR SYSTEM OR WATCHING FILMS AND MONITOR HOW THINGS IS GOING ON ON THE RADIO OR TV. IT IS THOSE IN THE GRASSROOT THAT WILL COME OUT, STAY WHETHER RAIN OR SUNSHINE TO VOTE AND THAT IS WHY ACCORD PARTY OF ROUGHLY 4 MONTHS WAS ABLE TO PERFORM WELL IN THAT ELECTION BECAUSE ITS A PARTY OF THE GRASSROOT AND LADOJA IS A 'GRASSROOTER', HE UNDERSTANDS OYO POLITICS THAN AJIMOBI.
THE RESULT OF 2011 SHOWS WHAT COULD LIKELY HAPPEN IN 2015 PROVIDED THE ACCORD BETWEEN AKALA AND LADOJA ENDURE TILL THAT TIME:
ACN = 480,822
PDP = 387,132
AP = 275,773
MATHEMATICALLY, PDP+AP = 662,905
AGREED, POLITICS IS NOT MATHEMATICS BUT ITS A GAME OF NUMBER.
you just go to the internet to quote figures and you erroneously used it for your projection. Its obvious you don't understand anything as regards politics, just go and sleep! angry let me tell u just divide Ladoja's vote in 2011 into half and join it to Ajimobi's vote; then you have a faint image of what 2015 will be like.
emiye: Things are not the same.

PDP of 2011 as the incumbent party rigged that election to get that much number of votes, but the rigging numbers were not enough to save them.... FaCT.

PDP no longer controls the state machinery, Voters turn out was relatively low also in 2011 due to the fear of violence as common with PDP. In 2015, all things being equal, more people will come out to vote.

Ladoja candidacy in 2011 succeeded in spilting Ibadan votes, as ajimobi and Ladoja were both from Ibadan.

In 2015, ajimobi will garner nothing less than 60% of total votes cast, irrespective of the state opposition merger or acquisition. BOOKMARKED.
u're very much correct; Ladoja is going to lose a lot of supporters/sympathizers going by this stupid move of his. Ajimobi will whip them so bad I can only imagine
Politics › Re: Oyo-2015: Ladoja And Akala Teamed-Up To Takeover by funshint(m):
texaco1: akala lost that election because ladoja entered the race.akala was leading till the last minute when ibadan elders under the order of the king went to plead with ladoja ,some things happened which i cant say here that ladoja did to tilt it in favour of ajimobi.
akala had always said it that 10 tinubu cant displace him.the agreement reached between ajimobi and ladoja on the election day was what saved acn ,now that ajimobi has reneged on his agreement ladoja has no choice but to come back to pdp.no matter what ajimobi do or does he cant win in 2015.the best he can do now is to perform credibly and support another person withing acn .if acn should make the mistake of fielding him they will lose
Hey Mr man stop saying trash; when you don't know something you keep quiet! Let me give you the real facts before people like you start distorting history. Before the election in 2011; Ajimobi/ACN clearly had the highest chance of winning because people were already tired of the setback brought upon them by the Akala/PDP administration in Oyo state. Remember that prior to the election Ladoja never intended running for the governorship because of the tense political climate of Oyo state at that time. Now the election was clearly between Ajimobi and Akala with Ajimobi having the higher chance between the duo; Ladoja was not even in the equation. Now let me list out the things that gave Ajimobi/ACN advantage over Akala:
1. Mal-administration by Akala/PDP government in Oyo state in terms of unprecedented level of violence in the state, decay of infrastructures and the general high level of ineptitude/incompetence exhibited by the Akala/PDP government in the state.
2. The rising profile of ACN in south-west as a development oriented party
3. Governor Babatunde Fashola's ACN led administration in Lagos state which people saw as a model type of government worthy of emulation
4. Ajimobi's antecedent in politics of Oyo state being a former senator in the state from 1999-2003 and having clearly won the gubernatorial election under ANPP in 2007 but denied his victory by Obasanjo/PDP's style of election rigging/manipultion
5. PDP's falling profile in Southwest having lost Osun, Edo, Ekiti, Ondo and a perpectual loser in Lagos state.
6. The electoral reform with the new system of voting introduced by INEC/Jega through declaration of votes at each polling centres before collation thus making rigging and manipulation of election result/figures very difficult.
7. The conflict between Akala and Alaafin of Oyo which the later sworn never to support Akala thus aligning his support with Ajimobi/ACN
It is so irritating whenever people say Ladoja helped Ajimobi to win in 2011; as we all know that Ladoja did not come out until very few months to the election when he realised that the opposition had gained a solid support in the state. Look, majority of people that voted for Ladoja were erstwhile in support of the oppostion led by Ajimobi/ACN. Ladoja was only able to gain their support because of the sympathy most people felt for him having been betrayed by Akala when he was the governor. He(Ladoja) started running a campaign of sympathy through the video he was distributing showing the political crises, betrayal and his eventual impeachment when he was governor in Oyo state; check
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0Tt4f9c974. Also he succeeded in brainwashing many people by running campaign of blackmail/falsehood against ACN especially against Bola Tinubu; alleging them of coming to Oyo state with the intention to loot and share the state treasury. But because people wanted a change and still considered Ladoja as birds of thesame feathers with PDP; majority still gave their unalloyed support to Ajimobi/ACN. Infact with Ladoja coming into the race he was considered as a "spoiler" because he almost divided the vote of the opposition which would have giving Akala/PDP undue advantage if not for God. Also don't forget that Ladoja many times vehemently opposed stepping down for Ajimobi because of his own selfish ambition to return to the government house. And also most people that voted for Ladoja only voted for him out of sympathy; not based on performance because he was also as useless as Akala when he was the governor.
Now with Ladoja aligning his support with that beast called "Akala" he's going to lose a lot of admirers and supporters, infact he just dug his grave politically. And also not forgetting that Ladoja is a coward as regards honouring agreements and Akala is known for being a serial betrayal; this is a union between two crocodiles because none of the two will step down for eachother when the time comes thus the union is bound to fail and Oyo state people are not ready for the repeat of violence/turmoil brought upon them by these two dogs(Akala and Ladoja). This union is nothing but a farce; it is bound to FAIL!!!
Let me state it LOUD and CLEAR now with the unprecedented high level of performance and governance by the ACN/Ajimobi led administration in Oyo state, let 1000 Ladoja/Akala come together to fight Ajimobi they will be squarely be defeated and disgraced by God's grace!!!

Politics › Court Restrains PDP From Further Action Against Amaechi by funshint(op): 10:56am On Jun 01, 2013
A Rivers High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has restrained the Peoples Democratic Party from taking any further action against the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, pending the hearing of a substantive suit challenging his suspension from the party.

The National Working Committee of the PDP suspended Amaechi on Monday over the removal of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council Chairman, Mr. Timothy Nsirim, and 17 councillors.

The governor, who was apparently not satisfied with the development, had since approached the court, challenging his suspension from the party.

But Justice Emmanuel Ogbuji on Friday issued a directive stopping the ruling party from going beyond the Amaechi’s suspension until the matter was heard.

Ogbuji’s order came following a preliminary application brought before the court by the governor’s lawyers led by Mr. Akin Olubunmi (SAN).

Also summoning the PDP to appear before it on June 6, 2013, the court instructed the party to maintain the status quo in the matter pending the hearing of the substantive suit brought by the governor.

Ogbuji, however, directed Amaechi to serve the PDP the necessary court processes by pasting them on the walls of the party in Abuja and publishing them in national newspapers.

Rivers State has been going through political crisis that has divided the house of assembly and the state PDP.

The crisis, which began after an Abuja High Court sacked Chief G.U. Ake as the state PDP chairman, has also led to the suspension of 27 out of the 32 members of the assembly.
