I don't know much about this however, this is a breach of contract between the two parties involved.
Ask him this before taking any legal action "if by one way or the other he once breached the agreement date too." (Probably the state government paid his salary late too then.)
However, I still feel your friend can still get justice.
This was actually my problem too but on those occasions the bank actually charge more interest. I Really need to check out this agreement between them
BusinessAdvise Needed, My Friend Is About Taking First Bank Nigeria To Court by futurenix(op): 5:24am On Nov 03, 2016
He called me yesternight that the bank debited him two weeks to the stipulated date.

Actually he took a salary loan from first bank in 2014 that will span for three years.
The stipulated date of debit is 15th of every month and that's how they have been debiting till yesterday 2nd November.

He works with Abia State government and his last salary received is April salary paid two months ago. His loan repayment is actually upto date till september last month.

What he is owing the bank was from October which he received a debit for it on the 15th of October though no salary entered within this period. He was paid his May salary on the 2nd of November and the October repayment has already been effected leaving just the balance.

Just same 2nd November evening he received another debit alert from the bank on the loan and virtually nothing was left for him and his family.
This debit is only due on the 15th of the month as stipulated but he was debited on the 2nd.

He is contemplating taking the issue to court and I have been calming him down though not also happy with what the bank did.

I want to ask you lawyers and bankers and others in the house, If he takes up this issue to court what are his chances of making a good case?

PoliticsRe: 270million Used To Clear Grass At The IDP Camp By Lawal: Reps Probes Allegations by futurenix(m): 4:19am On Oct 07, 2016
Just imagine 270million that can build a manufacturing company and create hundreds if not thousands of employment.

That was how a former council chairman, Christopher Enweremadu of Abia State polytechnic used 100million naira to cut grass at the new site while the staff were owed over seven months salary.

This country will really be difficult to treat its ailment, probably the year 3000.

The Imo citizens are also part of this rubbish.

Why not start dumping your refuse infront of the government house or other government agencies to allocate some of it to them too.

Imagine Douglas road becoming massive refuse dump.

BTW Would advise any visitor in owerri whether stranded or otherwise not to walk carelessly there at night, it's becoming a constant robbery zone.

Good analytics from Reno. Likes of Reno Omakri should from the new PDP. They will put up a good opposition
If only you are aware of what Reno and his cronies benefited from subsidy under GEJ, you will go look for him and deal with him.

When you hear of fuel subsidy fraud, I mean not even bringing any fuel and and creating a long list of names claiming they imported fuel and then get paid for it.

In a saner climes, this man and his whole properties should be sold even his bathroom slippers.
PoliticsRe: Things We Import Can Be Made/Assembled In Nigeria - Sen. Ben Bruce by futurenix(m): 10:13pm On Sep 30, 2016
With all the money you have made through legal and illegal means which manufacturing or assembling company do you have?

You are paid millions of naira per annum and have no manufacturing company and expect someone who struggled to make your annual salary in 10 years to open manufacturing /assembling plants.

All you criminals do is to impoverish the masses without giving anything in return.

they r still talkng abt toothpicks after spending 16months in power.
If audu ogbeh start toothpick industry him go die?
D money wey these guys dey take import these things abeg cbn dey dash dem? No be thier money...
Ataya for all this noise o.
Don't mind these politicians. I can count the number of politicians that are employers of Labour in their private companies engaging in production.

Toothpicks might be small and it's a stick that's why everyone is seeing it as if it's a walk in the path.

A complete toothpicks factory requires 12 machines amounting to not less than 22000USD excluding shipping and clearing costs. That's over 10 million naira currently.

You will need to secure a land or warehouse for it, employ workers to mount the machines and be paying them.

You will need to source and purchase the bamboo for the picks production.

Considering our epileptic power supply u will run most of those machines on diesel and still compete with the market price.

Toothpick production requires you also grow ur own bamboo so as your cutting them others are growing.

So if your one of those who think toothpick is a walk in the park I suggest you think twice.

It will swallow upto 14 million naira and your not sure of breaking even in three years.

How many of these politicians have sponsored entrepreneurs to venture into production?

Toothpicks this tooth pick that

Rubbish.

Tell that to Abia State Government owing workers whooping six months salary and still go on air to claim they have paid.

Abia State polytechnic, Aba are on their fourth week of strike for their six months salary.

How are these people going to pay their children's school fees and still meet up with the inflation at the same salary which they are yet to collect.

Many of them running their post graduate programs have entered school fees demurrage because of work no pay.

Those in teaching hospital are down six months too and same with local governments.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Needs Lagos More Than Niger Delta – Sanusi by futurenix(m):
Blakjewelry:
That is what they keep saying but they wouldn't let ND region and the oil rest. The last time I checked their is port in rivers and delta why are the ports not working if the FG is sincere. Most of the oil companies are paying huge revenue to the Lagos state government monthly yet some fools will just wake up and talking rubbish
You have a valid point about the ports ( both sea and air) with the oil companies.

Wonder why the federal government is monopolizing the ports issue majorly in lagos when most of the items are not even for lagos.

If you ask me how ports generates IGR like the person asking above here is it :

Nearness to both seaports and air ports is one of the factors considered in siting a company dueto ease of raw materials ( in this case imported) and exportation too.

Now, if I have a company sited in say Akwaibom, and the customs and other clearing charges for a container is about 600k in lagos Apapa port and 1M in Rivers ONNE port , I think will be forced to clear my container in Apapa and use say 200k to transport it to Akwaibom and save 200k.

But again, if I relocate my company to Lagos I will be saving that 200k transport cost per container which is more profit to the company right?

So if I relocate to lagos, I will be paying taxes to the state government which inturns increase the IGR.
I will employ those who reside in lagos and as I pay them salaries they are equally contributing in their own way to the state's purse.

In a like manner, since only lagos ports are more active if I am to export my goods to overseas I will have to transport it to lagos first and still pay some charges which goes to both the FG and state purse before shipping which is also wastage of resources and little profit for my company. Why don't I just go there for profits sake.

F**k Akwaibom ! Let me relocate to lagos or its nearby state ASAP to enjoy these goodies for my company.

The difference in customs clearance and other charges between lagos and Rivers was intentionally done to attract more Companies up West so more money will go there.

I can't count the number of active seaports in China cause every region that is linked to the sea or ocean has a seaport.

So can someone explain to me why areas close to the sea in Nigeria don't have sea ports and also why there will be much difference in clearing charges and duty?

Will be waiting for some sensible enlightenment.

Guess the test caused more harm than good.

What kind of leadership did we find ourselves in this 21st century still trial and error learning.

BTW has anyone observed the exchange rates in banks for online transaction is always an increment of 30 naira minimum with no option of the inclusive numbers between their current and previous rates.

Like leaving 300/310 to 330/350 without passing through other numbers in between like 311, 312, 313,...

Also left 330/350 to 370/380/ again with no 331, 332, 333,... or 351, 352, 353,...

From 370/380 to 400/400+

I really find this strange considering the naira is floating and bidding is done with such increase at a go.
BusinessUpward Review Of International Call Rates By Telecoms Companies by futurenix(op): 9:15am On Aug 29, 2016
I innocently placed a call to my clients in Cameroon this morning and was charged N5/s by Etisalat.

Initially thought I was shortchanged and called their customer care to report only to be told there has been an upward review for international call rates.

A friend also told me he had a similar experience with MTN yesterday.

My annoyance is there was NO notification whatsoever about the increment.

These people keep sending useless text messages to my phone disturbing my calmness in the name of adverts and did not deem it fit to send a text message about their rate increment.

Is it possible the 9% tax has been implemented or its the change in Forex?

Seems we are going back to the Era of call centers soon.

You realize trillions from fuel subsidy removal,

have realize trillions since the inception of forex floating policy making approximately 110 naira per dollar sold,

Trillions realized from looters,

billions also realized from import duty and tax

And you still complain of no money to boost the economy.

Wonder if all what has been generated is a mere paper or the legal tender I know or some people are still looting it.

PoliticsRe: Salary: NLC To Apply `no Pay, No Work’ Rule by futurenix(m):
They should start with Abia State ooooo. Their salaries have been used from the inception of this government in court cases.

Abia Teaching hospital = 6 months arreas

Abia State polytechnic = 6 months arreas

Local governments =5 months arreas

These are just the details from Aba metropolis and it's the same all through Abia State.

I wonder how the state government wants these people feed their families, pay their children's fees and solve family problems, transport themselves to work with the prices of goods and services sky rocketing.

They will even go to media houses and claim they have cleared all salary arreas.

I was told by a friend from Abia poly, the current governing council chairman on inception and seeing the salary arreas owed, forced his seating allowance from 65k to 265k. Also, the seating is supposed to be quarterly but the chairman is there minimum of three times a week even without any meeting and must collect the 265k.
This same chairman who threatens to form militants in aba if Okezie Ikpeazu is eventually unseated in court. Still wondering why the DSS is yet to do the needful after that video went online.

As if it is not enough, those at the top who claim to be related to the Governor now acts with impunity employing their relations (just from a particular area in the state) en masse to even placing fresh graduates with no experience on level 9 instantly in the lecturing Cadre. That's how bad it is.

In Abia Teaching hospital, completed contracts of painting and furniture delivery in the just completed buildings are being demolished and re-awarded to persons from a particular area under the guise that the job was poorly executed just to enrich their pockets while salaries are being owed.

Honestly, Abia is in for a long ride. I thought it will be better this time.

If "no pay no work "will be implemented then it should commence ASAP.

Just Sick of corruption on every corner of this country.

The way things are going for GEJ, Before 2019, one African nation will demand his services as an adviser to pilot the affairs of its nation.

Guess what, whichever nation is that, will compete with South Africa.

Since independence, I am yet to read any ex-president that has been respected internationally like GEJ. If he was corrupt as some Nigerians were made to believe, these international recognitions will not be so overwhelming.

His administration was not free of corrupt members but he was an economic captain.
