Evidence of what? That he didn't build a hospital that could cater for him? Please if he did build one then why was he travelling to a saner clime? If you also know the one he built mention it.

SmartPolician:
“He was not running away,” Mr Ikwueto said. “Why will he run away when his family is here and he has a lot to do here? The fact is that he (Obiano) has a medical condition for which he had a prior appointment to see his Specialist Doctor for treatment at Spring Creek Urology Specialists LLC, Houston, Texas, U.S.A.

I think the medical condition makes sense. However, saying that he won't run away because he has family in Nigeria doesn't sound convincing.

I found it very insulting that someone governed a state for 8 years but cannot stay a day in the state because he doesn't live in Nigeria.
You have said the truth. However are we trying to say here that the money he looted is not enough to build a standard hospital that would have taken care of him here? Whether he looted the money or whatever, that he couldn't build a standard hospital to cater for him is a shame. He and his lawyer should be ashamed of spewing that nonsense.

All hail USA.. Africa(Nigeria especially) and Africans first and last Hope.. cheesy
With all due respect you are an idiot. Who started terrorism so to speak? I'm sure you're also not aware that on several occasions the US have funded terrorist group like the ISIS in Syria and some other places. Of course you might have not heard of this because it's the US. Assuming it was a country like Iraq or Nigeria that did such all hell would be let loose and the country might even be invaded because of this.

I am disappointed at these comment by Shuaib and the attitude put up by Obaseki

Except there is more to this, they are simply being ingrate!

Without PDP coming to the rescue Shuaib and his "soldiers" would be history by now!

Wike is not my favorite person at the moment but he risk his life for this cause!

I think this is a deliberate outburst in other to return that state to APC as part of an initial plan and agreement!

What else could be responsible for such ingratitudehuh

And this is not a matter of godfatherism on the part of Wike, its just a party principle

If there's need to inculcate whatever, it can be patiently looked into!

Obaseki should handle this issue maturedly else he would be setting a wrong antecedent for others who might need such help in future!

A word is enough for the wise!
You see Obaseki and Shuaibu did not become ingrate overnight. It was this same ingratitude that the both of them exhibited that divided the APC back then before they were finally kicked out. It was because people refused to listen to the cause of the incident then. People would have known a leopard never changes its spot. I'm very happy that they displayed their useless character on time. I'm also happy that PDP realise how foolish they were to have given both governor and deputy to someone who just decamped.

Our fleet is made up of mostly 1st and 2nd generation aircrafts. The only few here that are close to 3rd generations are the JF-17 and the Tucano. Next time, our govt should save money to buy the Russian made Sukhoi SU-25, SU-27 and other variants of it that we probably would be able to afford. Russian planes are miles cheaper than the ones from the west.
Is it impossible for Nigeria to get the technology in producing these aircraft? The best suggestions should have been that we should look for a way to get the technology in manufacturing these weapons.

lalasticlala ask yourself, Why do most terrorists carry Russian made AK-47?

I pity my brothers supporting this Maniac called Putin. Remove USA from the way, and see Nuclear weapons in the hands of Boko Haram and Isis so far as they can pay. Soon, una eye go clear.
This last part of your post got be cracking. It appears you really don't know all about the US that you're supporting. To even start with, it's the US that started Islamic terrorism or extremist or fundamentalists (whatever you call it) . It was researched and first executed by the CIA. In the Syrian war, the US was arming ISIS. It was after a global outcry that they started retracting. Assad was fighting different groups: rebels, ISIS etc. In Libya, the US was busy arming Islamic fundamentalists that Gaddafi had been fighting while he was alive. The goal was for them to kill Gaddafi. Of course they killed him and what's the result. The terrorist started giving the weapons to their fellow terrorist in other countries like Mali. It was Libyan weapons the extremist used in almost toppling the Malian government. It is also these Libyan weapons that has made Boko haram very strong. They weren't this strong before the Libyan crisis. Please understand your US properly before saying these next time.
As for the reason why terrorist carry AK 47. The answer is all over the internet I don't think I should increase the length of this post because of that. It has nothing to do with Russia. Russia itself does not currently produce AK47. The weapon is obselete. You will be surprised to find that Nigeria is an example of a country that currently still produce AK 47. So would it be right to assume Nigeria is responsible for the weapons found with terrorist?

Good move. The West's coming for China, am sure the Chinese leaders won't want USA sanction on there business. This nah real game to learn from. Wow
Economically the west cannot defeat China. US and China have been having trade war and both sides have shown what they are capable of. There is no economic sanction from the west that will affect China. In fact they ( the west) have tried it and it didn't have any effect on China. Putin was wise after all. He expected the west will move to economic sanctions and he had China as a back up plan for the economic sanctions that will follow. Moreso we have not heard from North Korea. That is another mad man that is worth hearing from as everyone is just cashing out from this war.

What is interesting is that when Isreal was bombing Palestine everyone forgot that the victims were human. We forgot about innocent women and children who were killed. No one talked about mediating. Please let African concentrate on the war in Ethiopia and leave Ukraine and Russia alone. Both of them are racist countries to blacks and we stand to gain nothing from them being at peace or war.

helinues:
You are the one not getting it. States now have the power to generate their own electricity by any means they feel like, coal, gas, wind, solar..

The monopoly of FG on electricity is what have been the major problem with electricity generation in Nigeria.
I dare you to provide a link to the bill and let's analyse it. The house of Assembly does not have the power to use the word "any means they feel like". Rather states will only generate power with the approved means of generation which will be approved by the federal government. Also that's not even the main issue here as I didn't quote you. Power sector is divided into generation, transmission and distribution. If the house approved state for generating power, it means the federal is still in charge of the other two sections. I bet you didn't know this. Please think we'll next time before quoting me.

Since it's has been settled in the house, the Executive has no option than to sign it and then the state that are ready to work don't need the whistle to be blown before they implement it.
It's like you didn't get the message I passed. If the states are to implement? What will they be implementing? Is it creating companies that generates power? If this is the case, then it's going to be a wasted effort as that is not currently the problem in the power sector. The question I'm asking you the Op which I'm not sure of is whether the power sector was removed from the exclusive list? Or was it just only approved that state should generate power? If the latter was the case then it's a wasted effort. If it's the former then we might see something new.
Politics › Re: What's Your Take On State Generating Their Electricity by gaddafe(m): 7:29pm On Mar 02, 2022
Op we haven't seen the bill so these comments for now might not be in order. Did the bill give states the power to set up distribution company or generating company? Discos distribute while gencos generate. And the last I heard, there is enough power been generated but the discos were not buying it so the power ends up being wasted. So establishing more Genco might be fruitless. Any I will comment more when I see the bill
Politics › Re: Are You Not Appalled That Some People Are ‘Standing With Russia’? by gaddafe(m): 6:50pm On Mar 02, 2022
Penguin2:
I do not intend to bore you with long epistle. So, this is gonna be concise and straight to the point.

On February 24th, 2022, Russia made good her threat and invaded sovereign Ukraine and has continued to bombard the lowly country since then.

From the build up of the crisis till now that the crisis has started, Russia has clearly been the aggressor with Ukraine’s only crime being her intention to join bodies and allies that can ensure her security and self preservation.

But I’m appalled that some people on Nairaland are standing with Russia.

They conjure all sorts of conjectures to justify their wicked, irrational, narcissistic and sadistic stance.

First, they say US and her Western allies have been invading other countries with no one forming a global police on them; therefore, US and the west have no justification in trying to stop Russia from razing Ukraine to the ground.

They argue how Western media has skewed reportage, over the years, to present Russia in bad light unrepresentative of the true reality of things.

But do these things justify Russia’s attitude?

Why do people choose to side with evil? Or are they by implication telling us they are evil and would behave like Putin if they were in his position?

If anything, let us consider the facts of the cases of US invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan and even Libya.

Osama Bin Laden hijacked a US bound commercial airplane and crashed it at the New York Twin Towers which led to a lot human and material damage. When he was done, he fled to Afghanistan and was receiving shield from the govt of the day. What did you expect US to do? Fold her arms and watch Afghanistan become terrorist haven where insurgents will call home? If US had left Afghanistan without consequences, other fundamentalist Arab countries would toed same path and start allowing their territories to serve as breeding ground for Islamic Fundamentalists and terrorists.

Same with Iraq and Libya. Saddam Hussein and Mummar Gadaffi were two known Islamic fundamentalists. Sponsoring Islamic insurgents and allowing their territories to be used as training field for these terrorists.

Now, how do these things compare to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine?

Is Ukraine harbouring any individual that committed a crime against either the govt of Russia or the Russian people?

What Putin is doing is bullying, it’s wrong, unprovoked and unjustified. Therefore anybody supporting Putin’s actions is evil and should be segregated from people and a psychological check run on such person to determine the level of mental damage.

Penguin is a bird of reason!
You are very stupid for that statement that you made. Can you substantiate that fact? Even American soldiers who executed the mission of Saddam Hussein assassination has since realise their error and are sorry for the event. The only known crime of Hussein was when he attempted to annex Kuwait.

Gaddafi was a terrorist or that he trained terrorist? This is the first time I'm hearing of this bullshit, but I'm not surprised about such nonsense. Are you really sure you are a Nigerian? Because any Nigerian against Gaddafi is a fool. Can you please mention the name of the terrorist group Gaddafi was known to support? Meanwhile as at when Gaddafi was alive and as at now when was terrorism bolder?

You also foolishly mentioned the fact that Afghanistan would have been a terrorist haven if it wasn't invaded. So please educate us, what is Afghanistan today? I hope you know the entire Taliban cabinet are made up of international wanted terrorist members. Even the US today knows that they erred in invading Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. You trying to justify it is foolishness.

What Russia is doing is not fair but the Ukrainian President is not a man of peace IMO otherwise the war wouldn't have occurred.
