Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Unemployment In Nigeria by gaddafe(m): 12:53pm On Mar 25, 2023
nurey:

1. It's not government job to provide you jobs rather government is supposed to provide enabling environment. Waiting for government is tantamount to failure.

2. Majority of youths in the 20th and upwards generation don't want to learn a trade, go to those during handiwork you rarely see them have work boys the youths don't want to get their hands dirty.

3. Many of us refuse to learn from our parents. My mother owns a shop and I served her 10years I have 10years experience in marketing and human relation, I can sell shit and feaces to anybody from what I have learned.

4. We blame everybody but ourselves, government no give me job, why are my parents poor, my school refused to give me necessary skills etc. Stop complaining go out there and fix ur poblem.

5. Unable to think out of the box. I don't take nonsense from any employer I am ready to resign if the working conditions aren't favourable because I learned 3 trades I can venture into, I can also use my handiwork to make a living.

6. Fear of the unknown. This has incapacitated many people, what if I fail, what if I loose well there is a saying "no risk, no reward" try to take risk and God willing even when you fail you have learned to do better again.

7 certificate. Many graduates think because they went to school they can't do a certain job, because people will.laugh at dem. My first million idea came from paupers who showed me a problem and I decided to abandon my certificates, got dirty and today it's a success story.

8. Not moving with the right crowd. Stop I want to go to unilag, and work with Chevron and start thinking about problems in your society and solution you can provide and cash out from.

There are others, the country is hard and inflation is biting hard, white collar jobs are diminishing but their are opportunities available all around us, find a problem in ur immediate environment and a cost effective solution and cashout.

These are theories. Easier said than done. One singular government policy can crash whatever business idea you come up with. That is the reason we clamour for good governance. Just as an Example is the POS business that was almost destroyed as a result of the recent cash confiscation policy.

Now let's go practical and be realistic. I run businesses in Nigeria so one of the biggest problem we face is government policies. If as a man in Nigeria you finally have a business idea today. The government will tell you in plain terms that it does not have any policy or plan in helping you start out. Not even with the assistance of low interest loans. So you are left to sort out cash from God knows where. Say you finally somehow got assistance from a Family member and you open the business. In a week time, government officials will come there and tell you your business is substandard and they will threaten you to shut it down. How does the government expect someone without government assistance to start up a standard business in today's economy? This cut across every sector. As a result of this problem people resort to bribing the officials so their business will not be shut down. There is a solution to this problem. Fortunately or unfortunately, it is a political one. And the earlier we all realise the government is the cause of unemployment the better. Government ( state government) can create Jobs by making the environment friendly to business just starting up. This will motivate people to start up jobs

If as an Igbo man, you were not aware you were hated by Yorubas then you are not wise. I am Edo and I was born and grew up in Lagos. I relocated and left for Benin after graduating from Uni in 2008 because of these same reasons. In 1996, my father had the money to build a house at Ago, palace way Okota. He refused and instead built his house at his village in Uhumwonde Benin city. He kept making reference to how we ran away during 1993(Abiola run away). Then I thought he was foolish but I now know his decision was very wise. You can imagine me run away from where I was born because of the constant "Omo Ibo" victimization I got. Not to talk of you ...

Most of what is written up there as achievement are outright lies and some of them are half truth. When you find the truth you will be shocked.
I will pick som:
1. You can't process a C of O for ₦50k. I know this cause i tried it. Turns out there are other hidden charges.
2. The health he mentioned there is only affordable for government workers. He should campaign to the workers alone let them vote for him. I don't have the site here, I would have given it out so everyone can visit it and confirm. A private school teacher for example cannot afford it, neither can a market woman.
Etc... so many rubbish written there.

Now my main grudge with this administration and why obidient's should shine their eyes and prevent PDP from gaining the upper hand at the state assembly. For some years now it has appeared as though the state does not have a state assembly. As I'm writing this I'm not still sure it even exist. The result is that anything the governor says is law. It can't be challenged whatsoever. What kind of dictatorship regime is this. If you are caught with a traffic infraction, the minimum amount you pay is ₦30k. I emphasize the word MINIMUM. In a state where few people earn up to the minimum wage. Those involved in public transportation can confirm the hardship been faced. Both the magistrate and the useless guys are in the game together. The big question is who made these useless law. And why has no assembly Member (if it exist) question such useless action by the governor? The same thing with the environment guys ... I don't even want to start with the environment because there are rumors of the man in charge of the collection of that revenue related to the governor.

Politics / Re: Why Are The Endsars Activists And Youths Supporting Peter Obi And Not Sowore? by gaddafe(m): 7:00am On Feb 24, 2023
I saw this thread earlier but refuse to comment because I feel it doesn't worth it. But I decided to come back here and give my response because I know that few years from now people might now start taking such narrative as the truth.

Now I want to let the op know that if he has a short memory, Nigerians don't. The reason sowore came out to join the protest was not because he believed in it. He has already previously before then been having a running battle with the Nigerian government and the DSS for various allegations. He wanted to use that protest to spite the government and turn it to his #revolutionNow that he had been fighting for. The organisers of the EndSARS saw this loop hole and they refused him from joining the protest. The video of how Sowore was chased out from EndSARS protest is on YouTube anyone can see it. If Sowore had been allowed to join the protest he would have made himself the leader, which the people did not want as at that time.

Nigerians and the EndSARS organisers have tried and should be given some credit not this nonsense thread. Tomorrow is election, if you know what's good for you vote for LP.

That's FALSE. People spread propaganda for their personal gains or due to senseless way of reasoning. Wrongdoings must have consequences in this part of the world.

Before you quoted what I said as false. Did you even bother to give it a thought? If you get a news and you verify from the right body and the process of verifying was easy would you bother spreading it? How easy is it to get official information from a body like the NCC,CBN or Aso rock when you are a nobody? They only respond when their organisation is being rubbished in the media. If the process of verifying fake news is easy, people will be more careful of the news they spread as they will find out most information on our space are false. It will also make it easy to quickly detect those that directly distort these information.

A case in point is when Simon Ekpa was arrested. It was very easy for we here in Nigeria to verify from the Finland authority if the News was fake or real. Can you say same for Nigeria?

Nigeria needs to start regulating the social media. The government has to start prosecuting people for spreading falsehood. If one or two persons are prosecuted, everybody go get sense. How can someone just cook up false information and start sharing it?

The real reason for fake news is because official information is usually hard to obtain from corporate bodies in Nigeria.

Business / Re: How Are POS Operators Coping With The Current Cash Crunch? by gaddafe(m): 7:55pm On Feb 23, 2023
Axis313:
With the implementation of the now infamous CBN cashless policy, many Nigerians are groaning under the negative effect of it due to the absence of raw cash to run their day to day businesses and the POS operators are not exempted.

For example in my area, no POS operator opens again, no cash to run the business, except those that run other businesses with their POS, now I wonder how POS businesses in other places in the country makes ends meet without using other businesses to support it.

My brother, Dem don kill the business like that. I thank God I have other businesses. That is how I would have just been rendered jobless. This is the second time I would open a business that is destroyed by government policy. This was the reason I was reluctant last year to open a Poultry with. I just started processing my papers to leave the country. I pray Peter Obi wins.

Two things I see wrong here is
1. The boy in the first picture was just left alone without any girl to cater for his sexual desire.

2. They didn't add or show the kids a picture of the penis sliding inside the vulval to explicitly show the kids how it's done and the right hole to insert it.

Other than that everything is OK. Whether in Nigeria or elsewhere. However you are free to use any technique in bringing up your kids

So what exactly is this charge for again? I've not made any transfer this month. Money was deposited into my account and suddenly they came up with this

The charges are ridiculous like I said. In my case, what I see for every transaction whether debit or credit is three to four different charges. They are electronic transfer levy, vat, electronic something ( I can't remember this again). This is what occurs in my GT bank and Polaris. I remembered I complained of this to GT but I didn't get a reply. How can one receive all these charges for electronic transfer and we say we are encouraging cashless policy. Meanwhile if I carry out the same transactions physically at the bank, I would not be charged.

Food / Re: Expensive Jollof Rice & Chicken I Just Bought (pics) by gaddafe(m): 8:05pm On Feb 18, 2023
destiny4luv:
Good day Nairalanders, so this morning I woke up very early to see a friend in order to conclude a deal with him. I was at his place before 6am and we spent over 2hours before concluding our deal. As I was driving back home I noticed I was hungry and the only thing that was on my mind to eat was jollof rice and chicken 🐔 🍗.

I called my wife and asked her how long will it take to prepare the jollof rice and chicken, she said at least three hours that she need to go get chicken that none is left in the refrigerator. I told her I can't wait that I have to branch an eatery, but she still got to prepare it, because it's my favourite food she said ok. She said I should just take bread and tea when I return why she make preparation for the meal that's what she and the kids took this morning. I said no, she knows I don't like taking bread and tea, I can't even remember the last time I took such. She said no wahala.

I branch one of the eateries and ordered for jollof rice and chicken the girl served it and I noticed it was small so I asked her to add to it she said that will be two portion I said no problem. I collected coke and water and asked how much she said 5k 5hundred. I was surprised, it's been a little bit long I ate at any eatery because 95% of food I eat (especially when in town) is from home, my wife is very good at cooking so it does not really make me fancy eating outside. A portion of rice #1500 (×2) chicken #2000, water and coke #500. Naija which way how the average man on the street go take survive nah?

Sorry for the long write up on top jollof rice and chicken matter grin. How is the eateries in ur location is it this expensive?

Did I read it correctly or am I going blind? You are asking how the average man on the street go take survive... ? Bro, you are not an average man. An average Nigerian don't eat in eateries. You carry bro

Show me the legal means to this end. Don't site obj|dariye, fayose.

The legal means to which? Is it for governors removing local government chairmen or president removing governors? Which? And which of the two is even legal to begin with? Nigeria is a lawless country and you can do as far as your powers allows you. This is why some of us complain of the structures. Was it not the CCB chairman that slapped a security guard and arrested him sometime ago for daring to ask him to park properly. What happened to the CCB chairman and the security?

If the president is determined to arrest El Rufai, he will and heaven will not fall. You can go to court and challenge his decision and nothing will come out of it even if the court reverse the decision, the onus will be on the president to obey the judgement. Some of you act like you don't stay in this country

A sitting governor with immunity can be arrested by the president if he is determined. After all the governors constantly arrest and remove the local government chairman at will even though we know it's not right constitutionally.
