sketcherJ: I don't know why people are surprised. I can't see any lie in what he's staying. It is possible he started school at 4. I was also born in 1986 and I started school at 5. There is a possibility to what he is claiming. |
Politics / Re: Nigeria's Ibori: From Petty Thief To Governor To Prison - Reuters by gaddafe(m): 11:42am On Jul 22, 2023 |
nairalanda1: I know who I'm talking with when I hear things like "voting does happen and people vote for PDP". Like seriously... Even if someone like Gani wanted to loose, would it be with those figures he was given? If you were still a kid within 1999 say so. It doesn't take much people to win an election during the 1999 era. Every notable politician knows this. In Edo State, I was aware of the period when only 5 people won the election. During that era politicians don't give a shiit about the voters because they don't need it. What they need is connection. If you are well connected then you get all. To say people were voting for PDP is nonsense. There was a reason for the high voter apathy during that era. During that era, it is difficult to see a well known politician in the queue voting on election day. They are busy strategizing, controlling the movement of thugs from one location to another. Infact some of them will be sleeping at home while Election is ongoing only for them to be declared winner. If it was a free and fair election Gani will not loose in that manner, even if he wanted to loose. What is happening today is totally different from what happened in that era. Then I voted in three different states so I know what I'm talking about. I voted in Lagos (Okota), Edo (upper Sokponba) and Delta (Abraka). You guys should desist from this gaslighting, not all of us are stupid. |
Politics / Re: Nigeria's Ibori: From Petty Thief To Governor To Prison - Reuters by gaddafe(m): 8:46am On Jul 22, 2023 |
copyrites: Please respect the people of Delta. All over Nigeria, there was nothing like election during the 1999 era. It was just election ballot box snatching and all. In Edo State, I can tell you for a fact that it took 5 persons to win an election. None of them was voted for. That was why someone like the late SAN Ganifawemi lost his election and he couldn't recover the mandate through the court even though we know he was a good lawyer. To start saying Deltans voted for Ibori is a fallacy of the highest order. That been said, compared to other governors in Nigeria, Ibori tried for his people as a governor. 1 Like |

Dimaya: I seriously doubt you stay or reside in Nigeria. If you do then you've been cut off from reality for one reason or the other. The civil servants you're worried about are actually the middle class in the society in case you've forgotten. If you're bothered about the middle class then what do you have to say about the low class. The poor. I guess we will leave that for another day. In case you've forgotten, there are graduates who are security men as we speak, some are private school teachers, some are running after moving vehicles just to make daily sales. I'm talking about degree holders. Some even have masters. Let's just leave these matters for another day 4 Likes |

Les: Do a quick goggle and verify how easy it is for a leopard to kill a gorilla. If it's so easy for a leopard to kill a gorilla, then it's super easy for a jaguar to kill it not to talk of a lion. There is no competition here, the bear comes out alive. The only chance the lion will have is if it came with its pride else if it is a one on one fight the bear will kill it easily. The bear can stand easily with its hind legs like a human plus it's slap is deadly. The last thing the lion will see is the bears huge slap landing it's face |

Family / Re: Urgent Advice Needed To Protect My Mum From Depression. by gaddafe(m): 5:33pm On Jun 09, 2023 |
Blackazuma99: Quickly take her to the general Hospital or a Psychiatrist or neurologist. Whichever you have access to will advice you on what to do. I had a neighbour who suffered serious depression with the cause of depression similar to what you wrote here. It started gradually until it resulted in serious mental disorder where the woman will just be talking while moving along the road. Later it degenerated to her urinating on herself while walking along the road. I really felt pity on her before she finally died. Please help your mum now that you can. If it is depression, it can be cured. There is a medicine for depression because I myself have suffered from it and I took drugs that could lift my spirit. The drug is yellowish and small but I don't know the name because there was no name on it. Those type given by the pharmacist in the hospital. Before then I didn't know there was any medicine that was capable of lifting one's mind from a depressed state to normal state. 1 Like |

chris51: I initially wanted to say you are very stupid for saying this. But after seeing you are a female, I understood why you said that. That guy had suffered from a serious emotional trauma and you are saying he should let sleeping dogs lie. What is sleeping here? If it was a girl that suffered such amount of emotional trauma when she was a kid, would you advise the girl to let sleeping dogs lie? Why is it that most of you female find it difficult to have even the least Compassion on someone when he is a male? That guy had suffered a serious emotional trauma and the least he needs is to clear his name. He should confront the girl's father. There is no where in the write up where the OP mentioned anything about a child being involved. Why are people talking of DNA? 1 Like |

Humble432: Do not do that. That's none of your business now. Your business is to meet the father and clear your name. Meeting the girl and asking her of such can go either way especially as you don't know who she later turned out to be. Meet the Dad and the man will explain things to you. If she later finds the need to apologize, fine. If not, let her be. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Humble432: Go back and clear your name. Forget whatever issues that will arise. The girl and her parents can deal with that. Tell them you want to clear your name. . Make sure it's the girl's father you see not the girl. The girl per se knows the truth and the reason for lying. It might also be that the girl might have confessed the truth and her family knows why she lied but let the father know the issue affected you psychologically hence the need to clear your name. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Steep: Are you sure you quoted the right person? What has my comment got to do with banning Christianity? That kids are prevented from the holy books has nothing to do with banning Christianity but a lot to do with corrupting their minds because of the violence, gore and some sexually explicit stuff that developmental psychologist researched are not good for kids. When they grow to a suitable age, you can allow them access. Except you want people to filter or change the words in the holy books because of kids which the Bible itself is against . Talking of Roman Empire, I'm not aware there was any serious effort in stopping religion anytime in history. If you are talking of the followers of Jesus, I will agree but even then, I hope you know that the Bible predates Jesus Christ and his teaching and even if there was any effort to stop the followers of Jesus from spreading the word by the Romans and they succeeded, it still wouldn't have stop religion but just change some certain aspect we believe in the Bible as true. The so called holy scriptures was once the constitution in the Roman Empire which can be altered by politicians at will (this is a topic for another day)... 1 Like |

ppogba: You can insist whatever you like, it doesn't erode the fact on the issue. About 150 years ago, your ancestors were not Christians or Muslims. Is that the case today? They probably also thought like you that no one could change their religion. About 30 years ago, it was seen as an abomination for a girl to wear short skimpy dress and walk freely in the streets. Infact she will be boed by passers by. Is that the case today? The Bible encourages us to spank a child when he/she goes wrong, but civilisation and the western world thinks otherwise, how is that faring where you are? Are teachers still allowed to flog today? Even though it's not expressly in our laws. If you settle down and look at it, Nigerians are not religious. Not even for one bit. We just serve God because of poverty. Take away poverty and you will see the true Nigerians. 4 Likes 3 Shares |

ppogba: It's not a prophecy, it's where civilisation is taking us to. If you studied Education, Child developmental Psychology, you will understand what I'm trying to say there. Nigeria don't need to pass the law, once it is passed in developed climes, we will just copy it as usual. 3 Likes |

It's gradually happening. I told someone something like this last year December. I said the contents of the holy books are not suitable for kids. I said civilisation will soon take us to a stage where kids are not allowed to read the holy books until they attain certain age. Are we not gradually moving towards there now? 10 Likes 1 Share |
