moibayelsa:
...13 persons buy form for one constituency

No fewer than 100 persons have picked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination form to contest the September 13, 2018 State House of Assembly Primary in Bayelsa State, the party chairman, Hon. Cleopas Moses has said.

Out of the number, 13 of those who purchased the form are from a single constituency in the state.

Hon. Cleopas Moses said the development confirms that indeed the PDP is a choice party and still remains the most formidable platform to win any election come 2019.

He spoke in Yenagoa on Saturday, during a live interview programme monitored on the State owned radio station, Glory FM also known as Radio Bayelsa.
https://web.facebook.com/moibayelsa/posts/672307689795556
"I know the number I brought, to shock you I didn't bring less than 100 forms, I thought there will be remnant but I sold all out. I needed to call the National Organization Secretary to send more forms across to me. So its clear that PDP is the best party to be as far as Bayelsa State is concerned" he said.

The PDP chairman advised all the aspirants to do their homework as nobody will influence the choice of the people to elect a popular candidate.

According to him, the party has learnt from its mistake of imposing candidates against the wishes of their people, adding that it was what led to its poor outing in the last general election.

"Anyone that is aspiring for any of those 24 seats must know that it's not a do or die affair. You must have a spirit of sportsmanship. At the end of the exercise it is only one person that will win.

"Those that are aspiring before time should note that if 10, 13 persons pick form from one constituency, it's only one person that shall win, people should prepare their minds to be good losers because there's no way all of them will win, its impossible.

"Our National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus has warned that this is a re-branded PDP where things shall be done according to guidelines and constitution of our party as well as the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. There shall be no form of imposition, if people buy form they must go for primaries.

"Those who are aspiring should know that consultation and understanding are still part of democracy. For me, I am an unbias uumpire and I remain so. And let me say this to you, on the point of sincerity, I don't know who will emerge to be the flag bearer of my constituency.

"I have crossed my heart to be a free and fair umpire in this process. That is my covenant and my bond with my party members, to be impartial to a fault and I want Bayelsans and my party members to note me for that. I appeal to followers and supporters to respect the process and we will go by the rules.

"Anyone going in for the contest too must be prepared to respect the rules and you know just like in a football match when a player disrespect the rule, he will be fined, there will be penalty, there will be red card, there will be yellow card, and he won't play football.

"I don't wish anybody to be given any form of red card, that means there must be decorum because this party under the leadership of Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson have been taught how to respect rules. This is the new PDP in Bayelsa State where decorum and discipline are our number one watch words

"Bayelsans know that this is the only exco as far as PDP is concerned in Bayelsa State that has come this far. Getting to 3 years on board, no division, no issue of rancor, no infighting, we are not separated, we are united together for one reason to advance the course of PDP and to ensure that all elective offices in Bayelsa State are won by our party".

It was Yoruba people that 'sold' and accepted Buhari down south. The former Governor of Delta State, Chief James O. Ibori has debunked the statement credit to him by Daily Post in her publications titled “PDP sent me to jail, APC released me’ – Ibori plans defection”.

In a response to a text message sent to Chief Ibori’s spokesperson, Tony Eluemunor, by Swift Reporters he said,, “Did APC release him? That’s a proof that that phrase could never have come from Ibori”.

It will be recalled that Daily Post said a sources close to Chief James Ibori , a two-time former governor of Delta State hinted that all was now set for him to dump PDP for APC in the next few days, as a source who did not want to be mentioned in the print, quoted Ibori as saying: “PDP send me to jail, APC released me. ON THE “BUILD INDUSTRIES, NOT CHURCHES" SCHOOL OF THOUGHT:

“… There are some people who say 'Why are they still building Big Churches? Why don’t they build industries?' Those are satanic voices speaking.
Number One, we have to build big churches to have big accommodation for big harvest. What you present to God is what He fills. And Number two, The Church is one of the largest employers of labour. My father’s Ministry (Winners Chapel) has over 26,000 people on their Payroll. I’m not talking of just Pastors and Assistant Pastors. I’m talking of University Professors, lecturers, technicians and all these people. How many State Governments in this country have 26,000 workers on their payroll that they pay every month?

In this Church, we pay salaries before the end of every month. You cannot make anybody’s salary cross to the next day. The accountant that dares it has lost his job. We pay Millions daily on the site (The Lord’s Garden). Technicians, Electricians, builders, Resident Civil Engineers, Horticulturists, etc. By the time the hospitals join and the Universities join, it multiplies the work force. And some satanic agents say “What is the church doing?..."

A Gala seller moved people to tears by his actions when he spotted a group of prisoners in a van stuck in traffic.

The prisoners were being transported in a Nigeria Prison Force van heading to Ikoyi Prison but were stuck in traffic. As usual, the prisoners stretched out their hands through the tiny holes by the sides of the van and the Gala seller's next action surprised everyone.

He took the Gala he was selling and began distributing to the prisoners for free. When the van began moving, he dropped his basket by the side of the road, grabbed a handful of Gala and ran after them to make sure everyone gets a share.

His kind acts got him the attention of other road users and someone who was moved by his action, shared the story.

Politics › Re: Oshiomhole Speaks On Saraki’s Presidential Declaration by gare(f): 8:18am On Sep 01, 2018
LocalChamp:
August 31, 2018 Lois Ugbede
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the declaration to run for the presidency made by Senate President Bukola Saraki has ‘vindicated’ him.

The official said this on Friday in a statement by his chief press secretary, Simon Ebegbulem, after a meeting of leaders of the party in Kwara State led by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Muhammed.

Mr Saraki, who recently decamped from the APC, on Thursday declared to run for the presidency under the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

The chairman had said Mr Saraki’s plan was to destroy the APC because of his inordinate ambition.

Charging APC members in Kwara State to jettison their personal ambitions and work towards ”ending the reign of Saraki in Kwara politics as 2019 approaches”, Mr Oshiomhole said reclaiming Kwara is a task that must be accomplished.

“When I was saying that all these defections are not about APC but the personal ambition of these people, they took hired writers to say I was being too hard. But Saraki’s declaration has vindicated me.

”Thank God, he has moved on because his inordinate ambition was almost destroying our party but he has failed. These are not principled politicians but bread and butter politicians who can go extra miles to pursue their selfish ambition and never think about the well-being of Nigerians.

“As things stand today, APC remains the darling of the Nigerian people. Because PDP was the vomit of yesterday, our people will not ‘chew’ it back today, not under three and half years. People have not forgotten and people will never forget. In fact, what a senior palace chief in Nigeria said: this generation of Nigerians will not forgive the PDP in a hurry. Even to say you want to forgive you must do reparation.

“The damage they did to our economy, the damage they did to our electoral process, even the culture of rigging was institutionalised by them. They introduced do or die politics. They are the ones buying weapons for young people to go into thuggery while their own children are schooling abroad. They introduced all these vices,” he said.

The chairman also directed APC leaders to ensure they conclude the election of executives from the wards to the state level this weekend.

“The last time I spoke with the minister, he told me we have accomplished 80 or 85 per cent, that for me is not good enough because we don’t have more time. So this week, we must achieve 100 per cent by whatever means. If you can’t do it, we have to help you get it done.

“The two deputy national chairmen working with the national organising secretary and the North-central vice-chairman constituted a committee to complete whatever is left. It will not exceed Sunday this week. I also want to appeal very strongly, that at this hour, we don’t want a situation where because of what is happening in Kwara, people, who ordinarily will be quite happy to be a strong pillar of support, everybody wants to be a governor, everybody wants to be a Senator or in the House of Reps.

“Our party is a party of change and we want to discourage people from putting their personal interest over and above the interest of the people of Kwara state. I am able to say under the leadership of the Minister, he has repeatedly said it that his interest is not for him to contest for the governorship of Kwara state or any elective office. I don’t think it can be more selfless than that,” he said.

He said the task of taking over Kwara had begun.

“Let them know and carry the message of change and use the broom to sweep away the past, including the thorn umbrella. The task of sweeping away the past and rebuilding a new Kwara is a task that must be done.

”That should give you the energy, the incentive and the appropriate spirit to work together so that victory will be ours, not for our own good but for the good of the great people of Kwara State who have been oppressed for such a long long time. Like they say, they can be many days for the thief, one day for the owner.”

JUST LET THE GUY PLEASE. I BELIEVE YOUR WRONG WAY OF PLAYING POLITICS GAVE SARAKI THE COURAGE TO RUN FOR PRESIDENCY, SO YOU JUST HAVE TO TAKE IT THE MORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT HIM THE MORE POPULAR HE BECOMES, EVERY TIME YOU MENTION HIS NAMES SARAKI IS SURE OF 1.5 MILLION VOTES, SO CONTINUE SINGING SARAKI, BY 2019 THERE WILL BE NO BODY TO VOTE FOR APC grin grin grin grin grin

renewa29:
I know some guys will keep insulting, but this man knows something you guys don't know.

Ok so he declared for APC. If he doesn't win the primaries, he will still be galant. If he wins the primaries and loses the election, he will still be good for a ministerial position in the year 2019. Plus the real Igbo politicians who understand strategy are in APC.

They believe 2023 is the year they will get everyone's support to have a free go at the Presidency only on APC platform. Ken Nnamani and Rochas Okorocha know what the time is. They have both played PDP politics and they know that withdrawing the anchor at this moment to return to PDP is like pushing the struggle further.

Saraki became Senate President because Anambra people looked down on APC. If Ngige had won his senatorial elections, a lot of the headaches, Nigeria suffered as a result of the over ambitious and back stabbing sprees at the NASS would have been non-existent, because he would have been APC's choice for Senate President.

So Kenneth knows and understands that you need to step out and let people know where you stand. If your people refuse you and the party wins, then they can consider you for bigger positions. I knew he was going to be more involved in politics from the APC national convention showing.

scnonline:
As British Prime Minister Theresa May visits Nigeria and two other African countries this week, the country reported it had returned £70 million recovered from a Nigerian, who was convicted of fraud by an Italian court.

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Paul Arkwright, said in Abuja: “There was an Italian court case with a particular person involved. A portion the fund has been in the UK and that was the portion that was returned recently from the UK to Nigeria.’’

The envoy did not mention the identity of the Nigerian involved in the offence, but said more funds would be repatriated.

He stressed that his country was working with the Nigerian government to accelerate the legal process of returning the looted money.

“The British government has no intention of keeping one kobo of Nigerian funds in the UK. It all must come back to Nigeria.

“Just as in Nigeria, the UK feels that the judicial process is important, and we have to go through those processes before the money can be returned.”

According to ChannelsTV, Arkwright also confirmed that British Prime Minister Theresa May will visit Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa during the week.

May is expected in Nigeria on Wednesday.

May’s visit to Nigeria is part of efforts aimed at boosting post-Brexit trade ties.

May, joined by several ministers and 29 business representatives from various industries, will be on the three-day trip, Downing Street said Monday.

She will be the first British prime minister to set foot in Kenya since Margaret Thatcher in 1988.

“As we prepare to leave the European Union, now is the time for the UK to deepen and strengthen its global partnerships,” May said in a statement.

“Africa stands right on the cusp of playing a transformative role in the global economy,” she added.

“As longstanding partners, this trip is a unique opportunity at a unique time for the UK to set out our ambition to work even closer together.”

The delegation will land in Cape Town on Tuesday, where May will meet South African President Cyril Ramaphosa as well as business leaders and young people.

She will use a speech on the opening day to set out how Britain can bolster its partnership with Africa, “particularly by bringing the transformative power of private sector trade and investment from the UK”, her office said.

May will meet with President Muhammadu Buhari in the capital, Abuja and later on, visit Lagos.

On Thursday she will meet Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The prime minister will then see British troops in training action and tour a business school, before concluding the trip at a state dinner hosted by Kenyatta.

Among those joining May are representatives of the London Stock Exchange, the Scotch Whisky Association and manufacturing firm JCB.

Some are already calling it INVISIBLE projects of all time nonsense without even going through them to see that a lot of the projects were awarded long before PMB and some awarded during the last regime as well as the ones PMB awarded himself.

He has now taken on the huge task of finishing up on projects which were awarded some 6 to 12 years ago and left abandoned by previous governments as well as handling his own awarded projects.

I suppose those who are already calling them invisible projects are also referring to past governments who awarded and abandoned theirs while PMB is busy cleaning up their abandoned mess.
