agabusta: How will Amcon take over if they dont first assert their authority over the place??
Do you think take over is a tea party?? They will just stroll in and all the managers in the company, all the tenants in the building will just start handing over to them??
Take over of assets following a court order is not that easy, eventhough it is backed by valid court orders. It is usually a show of force. Even when it is between individuals, families, etc.
Well you are right, but I don't see the Bruce fighting for this, the loan it's long over due, they have accept things the way the see it .
NOETHNICITY: If Elrufai or Aregbe does this, CAN which is the unofficial religious arm of PDP, will not allow us hear word again! They would accuse them of trying to suppress Christianity!
Did you not read the post very well, you guys have very low way of thinking, he went churches, mosque and clubs because of the noise pollutions, he Is not asking for licence before you preach, pls do cause confusion here with your comments. Zombies are just rushing to like it because they see El-Rufai and Aregbesola name there. Na Wa for una!!!!!
agabusta: I passed in front of the place around 2pm and it was still locked with fierce looking mobile policemen roaming about.
Amcon has also put dirty inscriptions on the walls of the building all around indicating a takeover.
I just pity those who rented business outlets at the galleria. Their loss yesterday was not nice at all in view of the exorbitant amount they pay as rent.
If indeed Amcon reopened the place later yesterday, I'm sure its chiefly because of other business concerns using the place.
That's not how take overs are done you don't close the biz, you don't stop the biz, what happens is that AMCON will be the one taking charge of the biz a until the loan is paid back that is all, biz will still continue, but all payments will be made to AMCON, and if they need to inject more funds to make it more profit viable they will do so.
kahal29: Embattled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) “National Chairman” Ali Modu Sheriff has described the public conduct of Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as shameful.
Sheriff was reacting to Fayose’s comment that he was removed as chairman because he was scheming for the 2019 presidential ticket of the PDP and was also baiting some party chieftains with the vice presidential ticket.
At a media briefing in Abuja yesterday, Sheriff said: “I am ashamed at the way and manner Fayose is conducting himself in the country. I was once a governor; so, I know that the position of governor is a very serious one that demands responsible behaviour”.
He denied scheming for the party’s presidential ticket, saying: “I never told anybody I wanted to run for president and I did not promise anybody the vice presidential ticket. I have decided not to join issues with Fayose.”
To buttress his claim to the chairmanship of the party, Sheriff said the National Working Committee (NWC) under him is in charge of the bank accounts of the PDP, not the Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee.
“Myself and the Treasurer who is also a member of the NWC are signatories to the bank accounts of the PDP. Makarfi may also open another account in the name of his caretaker committee if he wished,” Sheriff said.
The former Borno State governor said he had forgiven Makarfi and his committee members for what he called their failed attempt to take over the party and invited them to rejoin the PDP under his leadership. Said he: “There is only one PDP, which is the one under my leadership. Anyone who thinks that the Makarfi, contraption can work is deceiving himself. I am the only chairman of the PDP recognised by the courts, the constitution and the Electoral Act.
“I became chairman because the PDP chose me to lead the party. So, I won’t sit by and watch some people mess up the party. I am here to correct what had gone wrong with state congresses conducted by the party.”
Sheriff inaugurated a committee to conduct a primary to pick a candidate for the party in the upcoming Edo governorship election. The PDP has hold a primary which Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu won.
Sheriff named Senator Hope Uzodinma as chairman of the committee and a former presidential aide, Ahmed Gulak, as secretary.
According to him, three aspirants have obtained nomination forms at N10 million each. The money had been deposited in the party’s bank account. Sheriff announced that he would soon convene the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to ratify the candidature of the winner of the Edo primary election to be conducted by the Uzodinma committee.
“After that, we will forward the name of our governorship candidate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the July 10 deadline set by the commission for the submission of candidates,” he said.
He declared as “null and void” the primary election conducted by the Makarfi committee, and which produced Pastor Ize-Iyamu as the governorship candidate of the party for Edo State.”
Sheriff dismissed as false, claims by the Makarfi committee that INEC monitored the primary election it conducted, saying the commission had debunked the claim.
With Sheriff were Uzodinma, Gulak, Senator Buruji Kashamu and Mrs. Mariam Ali.
Others are former Imo State Governor Ikedi Ohakim; former PDP Vice Chairman (Southsouth) Dr. Cairo Ojougboh; PDP Southwest Zonal Chairman Makanjuola Ogundipe; a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Kasim Gbolarunmi; Senator Saidu Kumo; Mrs. Esther Audu.
Also at the event were Prof. Wale Oladipo and Fatai Adeyanju, who are still laying claim to National Secretary and National Auditor.
Have you conducted yourself well, you where brought for three months to rearrange the party now you're asking to remain to 2018, is that a good conduct?
This is not good for our democracy, if the attorney general of the nation would refuse to attend an invitation from the senate committee, that's what I call a lawless act.
Then allow this men get bail on personal recognition, if they are Locked up the fallout will not be easy for the Government and the party, you can that out 58 APC senators only 16 are with the President or the Party the other 42 may move over to the PDP what will that tell you that even if Saraki and Co leaves PDP takes full control, and all we would see is just fighting between the executives and the legislators, that will not bring about good development in this country.
We know, but you stole ? So you have to face the music, it's quite unfortunate that the pattern adopted is wrong, theres nothing we can do for, but the only thing we can promise is that the likes of Amaechi, Fashola, Tinubu, Atiku and the rest will join you soon, including those recently discovered to be involved in the Halliburton scandal

They are paid for that and they do their job without fear or favour. Why would David Cameron not call us a fantastically corrupt nation, do you think he was referring to past administration? No he was referring to this one, the carbinet is filled with corrupt people, that was what he implies, you can't come and tell us you want to fight corruption, when corruption itself stays with you, when corruption itself stares at you on the face everyday.
Do you think after now we would still this fight against corruption after the President must have left office, no I don't think so, it's better we start working about getting a very strong institutions that will fight corruption for us not one man.
Nellybii: Can you swear under oath to the bolded? And moreover, Saraki is not complaining what's your own? Crying more than the bereaved.

I am not against going after corrupt government officials, but if the reason are genuine fine, have thought about APC beating PDP to their game, if APC had gotten it's anointed persons has Senate President will the house rule still be fake, we have to move forward, the President seems to pay more attention to fighting corruption then what happens in other sector of the economy. Check through the Newspapers you can't see any other thing other than arrest, bail, accounts frozen, probe, invite for questioning, will all this out food on our table, NO it will not, while you go after the thieves the President should remember that I alot of Nigerians are hungry, now his breaking fast with everyone, we need to move forward, we need to see the projects, we need to see the constructions, we need to see the people friendly policies.
Deen77: Do you know kwara worker's are begging for food because of Saraki, five months salary.
How can you blame Saraki that left office in 2011 for workers not being paid, do you guys reason at, can you own to your responsibilities, must you always transfer it to others and blame others
If you lock up the Senate President and his deputy, how will the senate run, ok they will hold new elections, but do you know until it's determined that this is fake or not you can't hold elections in the house again.
What this man really want from us, why is he setting us backwards, till now we are yet to see any project any where in the country.
This APC Govt I understand at all, we can't not fight corruption and die, there's what they call multitasking, while you're fight corruption the other sectors are moving.
If they decide to fight everybody then at the end of this tenure they show us how many people they sent to jail, then $1 =N850

If you want to go to court go if not you just get on the plane to US and prove Fayose wrong, if not it will not do you any good if you decide to go on a media war with him, along the line you may make mistakes which would be used against you or your husband.
So you either go to court or fly to the US or you remain quiet, you're not alone on this, you still have a lot of partners, Amaechi, Fashola, Tinubu, Atiku so remain calm.

Mr. President a very simple advice, if you decide to stop and throw stones at every dog that barks, then certainly you will never reach your destination, the budget has been signed but still we are yet to see anything, all you concerned about is giving all positions to the northerns, go after PDP which to me is not wrong, if only you do same for your party, APC.
Now it's alleged that your wife is involved in the Halliburton scam, you have so much on your plate, I believe you should be looking for the way forward, not issuing threats, fighting will not get us any where, these people you intend to fight have nothing to loose, but your name is being drag in the mud because that's is what you want, you're fighting corruption and the whole country is in shambles, why don't you look inwards to see if there's another way out of this, Wole Soyinka told you that corruption will fight you back, and certainly it's fighting you back in different form.
Sit down and think leave those guys you surround yourself self with they will destroy you and this Govt, that nephew of yours you carry around, if his intentions are not for one Nigeria let him go now, anybody asking you to do e fight own shout will destroy you this is not 1967, are the west still supporting you, is Europe still with you? I don't think so that have stopped us from exporting beans till you leave office, that's I sign to show you are own your own.
Speak for peace, get everyone on the table now, you can make history just like GEJ, you can win the hearts of the SS/SE without a gunshot.
reportnaijanews: Justice Candid Johnson of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Igbosere today, June 21, struck out a motion filed against the EFCC by Azibola Robert, a cousin of the former President Goodluck Jonathan, asking the court to restrain the Commission from arresting, detaining or investigating him. The motion was struck out on grounds of lacking diligent prosecution.
In the motion, Azibola requested for an order nullifying and setting aside the remand order obtained by the EFCC to remand him, an order directing the Commission to release him from custody, an order of perpetual injunction restraining the EFCC or any person whatsoever acting for/on behalf of the Commission from arresting or detaining him and demand of special damages in the sum of N200, 000,000 (Two Hundred Million Naira Only). It would be recalled that Azibola made similar motion before Abuja High Court and same was dismissed by Honourable Justice O.O Goodluck of Abuja High Court. He later filed two separate motions before Honourable Justice C.M.A Olatoregun of the Federal High Court Lagos and Justice Candid Johnson of the Lagos High Court.
My brother I disagree with you on this, if you're found wanting you will have to pay the price, we here still trying to convince the Government to bring people like Amaechi and Co to join you, you're saying they shouldn't investigate you, no you got it wrong , you must be investigated, tried and if found guilty serve you prison term, don't worry you not be alone very soon Amaechi and Fashola will join you.
This threat coming from the President will not work, let's all come together and talk, why is so difficult, this battle ahead of you will not come your way, so why don't you call this guys and talk the group is getting wider new ones are springing up everyday and sit in Abuja and threaten people, those sycophants around deceiving will be the first to abandon you when the chips is down.
If you still want to keep this country Nigeria, now is the time for us all to talk, and find a way to move this country try forward, your threats will not work Mr. President
MissMetro: After the Presidency reacted to Governor Fayose's claim that President Buhari's wife,Aisha Buhari was involved in the Jefferson Bribery Scandal. The President's wife added by calling the Ekiti state Governor Ayo Fayose a mad dog.
If this account is true, then it is so belittling of the wife of the President to start insulting a democratic elected Governor, all she needs to do is to clear her name, just take a trip to the US only, the time she spent insulting the governor would have been enough for her to get to the US.
You this what i am talking about when PMB said he wanted to fight corruption, he never knew the fall back is like this, everyday people are shouting Amaechi, Fashola, Tinubu one day he will have to give in for this men to be properly investigated, then we all will know he is serious about the fight against corruption
kahal29: The embattled former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Senator Ali modu Sheriff has declared Monday’s Governorship Primaries in Edo State as illegal and a contraption of an illegal care-taker Committee and has urged members nationwide especially in Edo State to disregard it.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission signed by the National Chairman and the National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo. the Party through the letter urged INEC not to give legitimacy to what happened in Edo and said that the party is going to conduct a proper primary in the state.
Also in another statement, the party released a scheduled congress in Edo State to start from June 23rd-June 29th with the inauguration of Congress Committee scheduled for Thursday. Also in another statement, the National Chairman warned state Chairmen and officers of the party to desist meeting or having anything with the illegal Caretaker committee and warned that anybody dealing with them is on his own.
In another statement also, Sheriff also announced the appointment of some deputy national Officers as members of the National Working Committee in acting capacity. The party said that it is acting in pursuance to a resignation of five (5) members of NWC and in accordance with the provisions of sections 39(2), 42 (2), 43 (2), 44 (2) and 47 (6) of the Constitution of the party 2012 as amended.
The newly appointed officers are: Mr. Okey Nnadozie – Acting National Organizing Secretary, Mr. Alonge-Niyi Dennis –Acting National Youth Leader, Mrs. Hannatu Ullam –Acting National Women Leader and Barrister Bashir Maidugu –Acting National Legal Adviser.
The appointment, he said is with immediate effect.
But no candidate is buying form from you, Edo PDP does not recognise you as it's Chairman, so you want arrange people to buy form from and conduct your own primaries? It will not work, it's time to pack up Sheriff and move on you can't win this fight.
bejeiodus: The moment the wife of the President chose to engage in pig wrestling, I knew she would get more than she bargained for. She should have kept quiet and file a case in court, but her body was itching for the mud. Now that her below the belt punch has been returned with a ferocious one, I hope she would nurse her bloodied nose and seek legal advice. The PDP just subtly called her a killer, a designation that does her office no good.
There's nothing to seek in court, she knew what she did, that's why she resulted to insults, if she goes to court a lot more revelations will certainly come out. If not the ideal thing to do is to go to court if she was innocent, but the reverse is the case, a lot of revelations will be coming up, like I keep saying this woman is far worse than PEJ
presidency: The Presidency has dismissed as laughable the desperate attempt by Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State to link President Buhari's wife Aisha to US Congressman William Jefferson's bribery scandal for which the American lawmaker was convicted in 2009.
Reacting to Fayose's allegations in a press statement, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said ordinarily the presidency would have ignored Fayose because he is a man "childishly obsessed with the desire to grab the headlines and insulting people at will because of his incurably boorish instincts."
Malam Garba explained however that the presidency chose to respond on this occasion for the sake of innocent Nigerians who might be misled by Fayose's shameless and blatant distortion of facts.
He said ignoring Fayose carries the risk of giving traction and credibility to outright and brazen falsehoods inconsistent with the status of anybody that calls himself a Governor or leader.
According to Shehu, Aisha had no direct, indirect or the remotest connection with William Jefferson's corruption scandal in the United States.
He challenged Fayose to tell Nigerians if the so-called Aisha whose pictures he proudly, but ignorantly shared, was the same Aisha married to President Muhammadu Buhari, or if the Aisha of his idle imagination had any relationship by blood or any relationship in whatever form, with President Buhari's wife.
Shehu also challenged Fayose to produce evidence from the records of investigation and subsequent trial of Jefferson to prove that Buhari's wife Aisha was in anyway linked to that scandal. He explained that common names alone are not enough to automatically link innocent people to crimes or scandals, especially in an era of identity thieves.
He further challenged Fayose to show proof when and where Aisha Buhari was invited for interrogation in connection with Congressman William Jefferson's bribery scandal, let alone indicted for a crime locally or abroad.
According to the Presidential Media Aide, free speech does not entitle Governor Fayose to falsely accuse innocent people of crimes they knew nothing about.
He warned Fayose that Aisha Buhari is entitled to protect her reputation from being recklessly maligned, adding that political opposition is not a licence to attack people's reputation brazenly without legal consequences.
This is not a matter of needing prayers, they should leave him alone, fayose could be wrong or right, the presidency does not need all this at this time, more its a national embarrassment to the nation for the Presidents wife to be linked one way or the other to the Halliburton scandal.
As long as the Federal keeps disturbing Fayose , I believe he has spent a lot of resources to investigate the first family and will release them as they harrass him, when you play with a pig in the mud there's no way you don't get dirty.
MadCow1: My friend shut up.. How can you possibly know how much all the stations in Port Harcourt sold fuel for?
I bought for 250 on Sunday on Odili Road. There are only 2 stations there.. Forte Oil and that private station.

metromediaboss: Even now that fuel pump price has been pegged at N145 per liter, some parts of the country are still suffering its scarcity.
According to reports, the fuel situation in Port-Harcourt has turned from bad to worse and power holding company aren't helping matters as well, with very poor electricity supply.
Have just gone through a lot of your comments and it surprises me that a lot of you don't even know the reason for the scarcity, NUPENG has been on strike since last week due to some companies laying off workers without their benefits, so the tanker drivers are not moving products since they are on strike.
So most of your from other parts will say it's Avengers, they nothing to do with this, I believe the strike have been called off by weekend things should normal, and you guys should try and get your facts right before commenting, it not by force to comment
The Federal Govt at this time do not need all this distraction, they focus more on taking us out of this calamity, the economy is messed up, and they still have the time to fight dirty, I really don't understand the priorities of this Govt, is to fight your enemies at the detriment of the economy, while your friends who are thieves walk around free persons.
They should this men, and wait to fight another day.
emmasege: All eyes on Muhammadu, oko Aisha. Let's see how you handle this. Instead of the dullard.in.ho to fight corruption systematically in our public service, he concentrates all his fading physical and mental energy on fighting political enemies. As at now, corruption goes on unabated and even escalates in both private and public sectors, while his zombies hail him. Police and FRSC are even more confident collecting their 'toll gates' from motorists than ever before.
Why has she then refused to go to the US? If she not the person then she ought be afraid, i believe that was the file that the US gave to PMB when he traveled to the US
