flimzy24:
A former Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers state and also the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Hon Dakuku Peterside In a statement released by his media team which was sent to daily post, has described the governor of Rivers state, Governor Nyesome Wike as a governor that lacks sense of accountability and responsibility, which has led to the fears and worries of the people of Rivers state. Adding that the Governor's level of incompetence has rendered many people jobless and helpless. The statement reads,

“At a time when countries of the world are working hard to secure a sustainable future for their people, looking for more avenues to increase their saving for future needs, when the Federal Government is doing all it can to increase our foreign reserves, Governor Wike is doing exactly the opposite.

“Rivers people are worried that the governor lacks sense of accountability and responsibility. This is a state where nobody saw 2016 budget, where 2017 budget recently signed by the governor is yet to be made available to anybody, including members of the House of Assembly. Wike should not make the future of our state seem hopeless.

“Not too long ago, the Federal Government refunded over N15 billion to the coffers of Rivers state from excess deduction over Paris Club exit. Till date, the state governor has not told Rivers people what he intends to do with the money, nobody knows what has happened to the money. Doctors, teachers, fire service men, pensioners amongst others are protesting unpaid wages and lack of working tools.

“Here is also a governor who has borrowed over N100 billion since he assumed office but nothing on ground to justify such huge amount. The same man is now seeking to repeal law that makes it compulsory for the state to save monthly from its federal allocation.

“Here is a governor that has not employed anybody since he came into office but has rendered many people jobless and helpless. Staffs of TIMARIV and RSSDA are still being owed till today, just as many of the primary health centers and primary schools built by the Amaechi-led administration have been abandoned.”

All this you have said can never make you Governor of Rivers State, shout all you like you can never rule this state, can't you see the projects taking place all over the state, are you blind? The roads your master refused to work on has all been opened by Wike, yet you come and shout here.

As we speak Wike is working on a federal road at Igbo eteche, and you are asking for 15billion, Dakuku why can't you guys hide your faces in shame and allow this man work.

Your master has done his own and gone allow someone continue from there. But mind you, you can never be a Governorin this state, maybe you try OSUN state

EdoNation:
A white man whose nationality is yet to be disclosed, was arrested inside Sambisa Forest as Nigerian troops cleared Boko Haram insurgents out of their last fortress on Thursday.

“The man is under custody and providing positive information”, said a soldier, who just returned to Maiduguri from the liberated forest. NAN quoting Daily Trust on Sunday said the soldier said while hundreds of Boko Haram fighters were killed during the offensive that began about a month ago, many others were captured alive while attempting to flee.

“Hundreds of Boko Haram captives, including men, women and children have been freed and taken to safety. “All I can tell you is that no big Boko Haram commander is alive in the Sambisa; we are in control of the forest. “It took months of planning and mapping because of the size, difficult weather and other factors in the Sambisa Forest.

” The source said that one of the major factors that delayed the takeover of the insurgents’ hideout was the thousands of people, including those living in villages around the vast forest that were being held as human shield by the Boko Haram leaders.

It was gathered that the 4,200 troops were deployed to the Sambisa Forest through various fronts, including Ngurosoye, Konduga/Aulari, Bama, Fulka and Damboa. “The 151 Battalion of the Nigerian Army advanced into Sambisa through the Banki-Darul Jamal axis, the 27 Battalion advanced through Mafa, the 152 Battalion advanced through Pulka, while the 222 Battalion approached the dreaded forest through the Maiduguri axis,” another soldier, who participated in the operation, said.

He said the operation was carried out day and night. “When mine detectors cleared the way, troops moved in to confront the insurgents, who were equally well armed with sophisticated fighting equipment.

Politics › Re: $20m Discovery: Will Patience Jonathan Be Probed? by gare(f): 11:25am On Sep 17, 2016
fredpaul:
A friend of mine recently posted something funny on Facebook. He said while it takes a graduate 100years to make $300,000, it takes a drug dealer 2 days to make $300,000, and a politician makes that amount in just 24hours. But then, if a politician makes $300,000 in one day, how long does it take the ‘wife’ of a politician to make $300,000? No, scratch that; how much time does the wife of a politician need to make $20m?
Let’s ask a former First Lady!
The EFCC stumbled into something of a tricky situation lately when the process of investigation for financial crimes of an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamowei Dudafa, led to the searchlight being beamed on the former President’s wife, Patience.
Four Skye Bank company accounts opened by Dudafa were found holding a total of about $15.6m. A No Debit Order was subsequently placed on the accounts, as Dudafa was being investigated for money laundering. All of a sudden, Mrs. Jonathan stepped forward, claiming ownership of the funds in the accounts.
Apparently, the accounts had been opened on behalf of the former First Lady- to hold her funds using the 4 companies as somewhat of a decoy. The process of opening the accounts were fraudulent in themselves, as Dudafa had used domestic workers as fronts. But then, the bigger question which everyone was asking was this: How does a former First Lady amass millions of dollars in the space of a few years? Keep in mind that an extra $5m was later found in a 5th account belonging to Mrs. Jonathan.
The office of the First Lady, going by the constitution, does not come with monthly remuneration. A politician’s wife- in any level- is not a paid position; officially speaking. So what exactly did Patience Jonathan do, to get $20m? And that was just the monies held in one bank…we haven’t even thought about the other banks in which she operates accounts!
Prominent Nigerians including Prof. Itse Sagay, have called for the probe of Mrs. Jonathan. In the words of Sagay, “if she is claiming the money belongs to her, she has put herself in a position where she must explain how she earned it.”
As the situation unfolded, there was then chatter that the EFCC may seize the Bayelsa hotel- Aridolf Resort Wellness and Spa- worth about N10bn, which also belongs to Mrs. Jonathan.
Pause…breathe…continue.
How did a former First Lady become so rich?
The UK Financial Times even compiled a report stating that the hotel which was inaugurated just a month before the end of her husband’s tenure, could “compete with other luxury hotels in developed countries.”
Can we assume that Mrs. Jonathan was being paid wads of cash each month as First Lady? Was she awarding contracts to herself using the office of First lady? Or did the money come from the heavily criticized campaign slush fund for the 2015 elections? To the best of our knowledge, Patience Jonathan has never been a big-time businesswoman; so how did she become so wealthy?
It is quite saddening to be hit with the realization that our nation is (or was) so lawless that even the wife of a politician can profit from the national purse, to the detriment of most of the populace.
And then, in the midst of the outrage, Mrs. Jonathan had the presence of mind to shamelessly file a N200m suit against Skye Bank for her inability to operate the account! What effrontery!
Where do we go from here now? If President Buhari is sincere about the War Against Corruption, then there is no logical reason why the former First Lady should not be made to answer important questions. When does this impunity end? She says she has documents to prove that she didn't get the cash through illegal means. We are all still waiting to see what the EFCC does next!
She didn't hold any office or appointment, she was just the President's wife, she had no budget so why the harassments, she must have worked for her money, if they can trace her to be involved in any shady deal or contracts then she can be investigated

We should learn to stand by the truth and do the right thing, we cannot continue like this as a nation, Tompolo and the father are two different persons so whatever Tompolo may have done shouldn't be transferred to any members of his family or friends except it could be proved by a competent court.

We should stop all this unnecessary arguments, if the military actually did that then it is wrong, they have all the resources to look for Tompolo, other than harrassing his immediate family, questions could be asked but not physically hurting them.

The military should deploy every resources at there disposal to look for the criminals and leave the innocent one alone.

Whistle-blower Jibrin In Fresh 3 Over N17b Money Laundering Scandals; Runs From Pillars To Poles For Cover-up
The whistle-blower and the embattled former appropriation chairman in the House of Representatives, Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin, might be arrested and charged to court by the anti-graft commission anytime from now as he is reportedly in fresh 3 money laundering charges, which have been revisited by the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, report according to Punch Newspaper suggests.

According to our source, Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin, was already seeking cover from possible arrest by the police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in a fresh twist to his budget ‘padding’ allegations against the Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, and three other principal officers of the House of Representatives.

Contrary to claims by Jibrin that he was invited by the EFCC to shed light on his petitions on budget padding against Dogara and three others, he was actually being grilled by the anti-graft agency over his past financial transactions and several petitions against him, Punch Newspaper's investigation revealed.

JIBRIN'S REPONED MONEY LAUNDERING CASES:

In 2012, the EFCC was said to have investigated and charged Jibrin to court over money laundering allegations and contract abuses in his Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency in Kano State.
There was also a money laundering charge of N15bn against him and a former Governor of Nasarawa State, Mr. Aliyu Akwe-Doma, wherein the two were arraigned by the EFCC.
Another case involved N2bn, which he reportedly laundered in the name of Green Forest Investment Limited, a firm he owned. However, the charges were later abandoned.

It was learnt that when Jibrin appeared before the police and the EFCC over the budget padding allegations, his money laundering charges were revisited, as he was reportedly asked more questions on his 2012 case.

On leaving the premises of the agencies, Jibrin proceeded to an Abuja Federal High Court to seek injunctions against possible arrest.

He filed two suits, one against the Inspector-General of Police, and the second, against Dogara and 13 other respondents.

In the suit he filed against the IGP, he also joined Dogara; the House of Representatives; the Federal Capital Territory Police Commissioner; Lasun; Ado-Doguwa; Ogor and 10 other lawmakers.

The suit had reference number, FHC/ABJ/CS/539 and was filed on August 9.

“Upon receiving signals that he (Jibrin) may soon be charged to court by the EFCC, he rushed to court on Thursday August 9, 2016, seeking injunction restraining the police and other anti-graft agencies from arresting or charging him to court,” Punch Newspaper was told

Findings also showed that, while before the public, Jibrin stepped up campaigns for the reconvening of the House so that Dogara and others would be probed, behind the scenes, he filed a second suit seeking to stop his likely suspension, should the House reconvene.

In the said suit number, FHC/ABJ/CS/539, Jibrin prayed the court not to allow a plan by Dogara and 13 other members of the House to “suspend” him.

He claimed that the 14 members met on August 3, following which they agreed to reconvene the House with the plan to suspend him.

But, in the open, Jibrin stepped up campaigns, saying that Dogara and the 13 others were not ready to reconvene the House over the fear of the allegations he levelled against them.

In his sworn affidavit, Jibrin actually expressed concern that Dogara and the 16 others were not stopped, he (Jibrin) “would be suspended as a member of the House and this will greatly prejudice him and thousands of his constituents who rely on him to afford them their due representations in the Federal legislature.”

Saturday PUNCH made efforts to get Jibrin’s reactions but he could not be reached as of 8.30pm on Friday.

He also did not reply to a text message one of our correspondents sent to his mobile phone.

Jibrin had alleged that Dogara and three other principal officers requested the inclusion of N40bn projects in the 2016 budget, besides sundry projects in sums ranging from N20bn to N30bn.

He claimed that his refusal to oblige the four principal officers and his opposition to several financial infractions, were responsible for his sacking by Dogara on July 20.

Jibrin later said he petitioned the EFCC, ICPC, the police and the Department of State Services.

In his reaction to the development, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Robert Clarke, said the appropriate thing any lawmaker facing investigation should do is to resign from his office.

He said, “Any lawmaker, including the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, only enjoys immunity within the Chamber, but does not enjoy such outside of the Chamber. The immunity they enjoy is different from the one governors enjoy.

“Therefore, if any lawmaker has committed an offence outside of the Chamber, they can be grilled by the EFCC and if found guilty, should be charged to court.

“So, there is nothing wrong for the EFCC to investigate Jibrin and Dogara for any financial-related offences committed outside of the Chamber. They should be investigated.”

The Coordinator of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, Mr. Adetokunbo Mumuni, asked Jibrin to resign his seat following the alleged money laundering offence and probe by the EFCC.

He said, “He should face investigation. That is how it should be. Any public office holder under investigation should step down. It is only in Nigeria that public office holders want to cling to their office even when investigated for an offence.

“Let Jibrin resign from the House and face the corruption charges by either the EFCC or the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.”

Also, the Executive Chairman, Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, Mr. Debo Adeniran, said Jibrin deserves to be punished if the allegations against him are found to be true.

He accused Jibrin of using the budget padding allegations against Dogara as a distraction.

He said, “If indeed Jibrin was accused of N17bn fraud, the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission have the rights to investigate the veracity of the allegation and if he is found culpable, then he should be thoroughly punished.

“It is like he wants to cover up the crime he had committed and remain the chairman of the appropriation committee at all cost. The reason why he is orchestrating the padding shenanigan is because he has something to hide.

“If the allegation that Jibrin is involved in N17bn fraud is correct, he should be diligently investigated to establish the authenticity or otherwise of the allegation.”

On the move by Jibrin to stop his planned suspension, Adeniran said, “Jibrin is just wasting his time. I have said it before that Jibrin did not have any good ground to raise any allegation because he raised it at a wrong time. He raised it when the appropriation bill had already become a law. Jibrin is an opportunistic whistle blower who is not supposed to be supported.”

Source: Punch Newspaper

http://www.newspunch.org/2016/08/whistle-blower-jibrin-in-fresh-3-over.html
But that was not the reason why he spoke out in the first instance, what is the Govt trying to cover up, someone came to report to you that his boss was involved in a crime instead you turn around to arrest him for an alleged crime he may have committed.

I believe we all can now see that this Govt is even worse than the previous Govt, so this mean that the padding issue has ended ?

That's why the west will see us as a fantastically corrupt nation, this Govt is not different from the past and really have nothing to offer us, if Jibrin had a case since 2012 what stopped the EFCC from prosecuting him all this while ? Why wait till now ?

I just pray God should come and wipe out all this corrupt politicians and government agencies for us to move forward

You say you want to fight corruption in Nigeria it means people perceptions on doing things will change from what they used to do before, they must ensure the right thing is done, no collecting of money by police on check point, no more bribing to get contracts, we must ensure we shift from the way things are done before to doing the right thing, no sorting to see someone in the ministry, no more sorting in the university, we have to shift entirely from that way.

But what we see now is still the same, he only went after few politicians and you call that fighting corruption, na you go, go theatre for operations

http://thenationonlineng.net/critical-financial-situation-rssda-sponsored-final-year-students-abroad/

On behalf of the Rivers State final year students abroad under the aegis of the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA), we would like to thank our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for promising and assuring us that he will continue the sponsorship of the final year students abroad and also for the continued developmental strides and ongoing projects in Rivers state, even in this harsh economic climate. We wish you all the best and our continued support as you lead us to more progressive and sustainable development.

Sir, as final year medical students graduating this year, we would like to bring to your notice our present predicament as a result of non-payment from December 2014 to date (over 1 year and 6 months). We are financially broke to the point that even food can no longer be found on our table, this is alarming but it is what we face day after day. It is embarrassing for us to inform you that, we now rely on begging from friends for even food. It is believed that, food is one of the fundamentals of existence, so how do we survive in strange, far away land without food and roof to cover our heads? Transport fare to the hospitals we do our rotations/clerkships is now very difficult to come by.

More so, we have tried arranging with the landlords to give us some time to crack a means to pay them the rents owed them but all our efforts were declined, as we owe over 1 year rent. The landlords have used legal actions against us in order to get back their money, while some students have received court summons and are expected to appear in court in the following weeks if they are unable to pay their rents, others have been given a definite deadline to pay up the rent or face jail term. As a matter of fact, some students have already been evicted from their apartments; now more than seven students are living in one room just to stay under a roof, some are squatting in church members’ and pastors’ houses while others sleep on the streets with no shelter over their heads.

The situation is unbelievable and unbearable as Rivers State-sponsored scholars and ambassadors of our great state and Nigeria at large; It is shameful and mind-boggling to inform you that most of the students have been forced to beg for donations from church members and friends just to survive as a result of Government’s inability to release funds for our upkeep. We really do not know what else to do to help our situations as every attempt to get help from the current government has been futile. Also, In addition to non-payment of students’ upkeep and accommodation allowances, tuitions have not been paid. As a reaction to that, the universities have stopped the RSSDA-sponsored scholars from attending classes and sitting for exams.
In our Institution here in the Caribbeans, the final year medical students have been stopped from attending clinical rotations/clerkships,which means that we will not be allowed to sit for the final examinations or any licensing exams and may not be able to graduate this year due to the disruption. We fear that our several years of hard work in pursuing our medical degree may be in jeopardy especially considering the fact that we have barely a few months to finish. The situation we find ourselves is very critical as our education and future is at stake.

As students, it is difficult for us to concentrate and study in harsh financial conditions, especially now that we should be preparing for our final exams and licensing exams. We do hope for a positive change as we face so many uncertainties. Our condition is now so pitiful that we are hopeless in a foreign land. Also, we would not be able to leave the country, as we are obliged to settle all debts owed and clear every financial commitment accrued (rent, utility bills and loans).

We are hereby humbly appealing to the Rivers state governor, His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Rivers State Government, the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) and her partners (SHELL, NNPC, Total, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Agip, World Bank, USAID, DFID and NDDC) to please come to ouraid, as we are totally stranded, hopeless and frustrated.

We do not know what will become of us in the coming weeks without theGovernment resolving this situation as we are facing uncertainties in a foreign land.

Long live Rivers State,
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
You guys already have a made up mind set before commenting on this issue I believe some of you did not read the post well, as long as you see Wikes name there, what came to your mind is crucify him, did you not read where the writer said since December 2014, who was the governor then, why did he not fulfill his responsibility towards the students, I believe he was more concern in sponsoring PMB election, money meant for the student was channelled to PMB election, you can now see you actually mortgage the future of Rivers State.

The previous administration had 6 months before hand over to meet up with its obligation, but failed now you want Wike with reduced income to continue with the programme, even if Dakuku had won I wonder if he would being able to cope, so if you have to blame anyone you start from the previous administration down to the present one.

This happened in Uburu, Ohaozara in Ebonyi state today 28/07/2016.

A Secondary school girl brought her male lover home and she was caught while having sex with the guy by her Father in their home...

The Father decided to naked her and gave her a remarkable beating of her life.

Not that alone, he gave people around permission to camera the scene, which was shared online.

Well this is not different from what used to happen in those days that your parents beat you up naked you with pepper in your eyes and private part and send you out, how many suicide case did you hear then, some of those people and the mighty ones in the society today, mind you I am not in support of that.

The father to discipline the child is on point, but recording it and putting it on online is very wrong, moreover the girl is already a full grown girl, why strip her naked, she could still be disciplined with her clothes on.

Parents pls take note this is wrong we should not discipline our children like this .

No matter what you don't have the moral justification to call him a dog, is this how your parents brought you up, to go about insulting your elders, irrespective of the circumstances.

Please try and show so manners, because if you want your days on earth to be long you need to honour your parents, and GEJ is old enough to be your father if not better.

Lawyers Please Help A Depressed Soul: What Does The Law Say?

I am a known and regular commenter on Nairaland, I created this account just for this.
Hear my story.

My dad died few years ago and in my house we are all girls. My dad has a boy (now a married man) whom he gave birth to when he was very young out of wedlock from another woman before marrying my mum. Meanwhile the boy grew up in our house, we didn't even know he wasn't our blood brother until I finished secondary school, to show you how tight the relationship was. Before my dad died from his sickness, the boy started acting up, giving people the impression that there is trouble in the family because he is from another woman, even during my dad's burial, well that's a story for another day.

My dad has only one house, 2 - 3 bedroom semi-detached flats. We are staying in one of the flats even before my dad died. Now, as my mum traveled and came back, the boy has padlocked the flat we are staying and rented the other flat to an unknown tenant.

Traditionally, they say women do not have a share in the property of a man. This traditional law does it include my mum who has been staying in that house with her husband before his death? Now, does it mean my mum and my remaining single sister ( we are all married except her) are not going to enter the house in which we have been staying over the years? Does he want my mum to stay in the bush or what? Please, what does the Law say about this type of issue? What does the Igbo traditional law and the English law say about this?

My mum never wanted to make any form of trouble initially but I think this is the height of the whole thing, and we are now ready to go to any length he wants us to go to.

Please Lawyers do you advise my mum to go to court? If the case is in the Law court, are they going to seal off the house knowing fully well that is where my mum stays?

Mods, please help move to front page. We need urgent advice asap. Interested lawyers should please contact me.
Before you go to court, if your mum was staying there let her get the police and break the lock, I don't understand what you guys are saying if some locks you out of your house? What will you do, is to go to court, you get the police involved first, that is trespassing, it has not reach the court level, break the lock and move into your house, there's not like Igbo tradition here.

DSP Ike Ekweremadu is not going anywhere.
You have tried to use Constitution to remove him but failed.
You have tried to formulate fraud against him but failed.
You have gone to the Daura court but failed.
You have made attempts on his life but failed.

Whats next?
Ekweremadu is from Enugu West, which happens to be my Senatorial Zone.
We from Enugu West are not planning to recall him. As a matter of fact, he has no opposition in Enugu West.
Ekweremadu remains with you until next election, you are stuck with him, so get down to work and stop wasting time trying to remove him out of hatred.

...and before you APC rogues and illiterates make that mistake, remember Saraki can easily defect back to PDP and we know half of the APC senators will be going with him.

You cry when PDP is deputy senate president, let's see what you will do when PDP becomes Senate President, Deputy, house leader etc.

Politics › Re: APC Blames Postponement Of Rivers Rerun Elections On PDP Violent Antics by gare(f): 4:43pm On Jul 26, 2016
suasmablow:
The Rivers State chapter of All Progressives
Congress, APC, received the news of the
postponement of the July 30 rerun election in
Rivers State with mixed feelings.
In a statement signed by APC Rivers, Publicity
secretary, Chris Finebone, the party said it is
huge disappointment considering that it will
further deny the people parliamentary
representations at both the national and state
levels while the pressure on our candidates to
sustain their campaigns continues apace.
he furthers, "However, considering the
reasons adduced by the Independent
National Electoral Commission [INEC] for the
postponement, the APC believes that had
members of the Peoples Democratic Party
[PDP] led by Gov. Nyesom Wike abandoned
their official policy of resorting to violence as
a tool for seeking political power, the
postponement of the rerun elections would
have been unnecessary. Indeed, we blame
the postponement on the sustained violence
and killings orchestrated by the Peoples
Democratic Party [PDP] in Rivers State.
The latest of the string of violence the PDP
has been perpetrating in the State is the
burning down of INEC office in Bori last Friday
morning after Gov. Nyesom Wike’s hate
speech against INEC and APC leaders a few
hours earlier at Okehi.
Just before the March 19 rerun elections, Gov
Nyesom Wike employed the use of hate
speech as his battle cry, calling on his
followers to stop Senator Magnus Abe. Days
later, the Senator’s campaign office in Bori
was bombed and burnt down. Last Thursday,
Gov. Nyesom Wike was at his game once
again.
Speaking at his party’s Rivers East PDP
campaign rally at Okehi, Etche LGA, Gov. Wike
let out his usual battle cry and less than 24
hours later, those believed to be his foot
soldiers bombed and burnt down the INEC
office in Bori, the South-East senatorial zonal
headquarters of Senator Magnus Abe. A
critical look at the modus operandi of the two
bombings reveal close similarities and
imprints, suggesting that those responsible
for the first bombing most likely undertook
the latest arson on the INEC office.
The APC finds it curious that as soon as the
INEC facility was bombed in Bori, the most
virulent critic of INEC, Gov. Nyesom Wike,
turned around to offer the electoral umpire a
Greek gift to the effect that INEC could
relocate to the Khana Council. It does not call
for any strenuous reasoning to conclude that
PDP members know more than they are
telling the world about the bombing of the
INEC office in Bori in order to force the
electoral umpire to relocate to a PDP facility.
Why did Gov. Wike not provide the INEC office
same security that he says the Council
enjoys?
The APC calls on the Inspector-General of
Police, Director-General of the Department of
State Services [DSS], the Commissioner of
Police, Rivers State Police Command and
other security agencies to diligently
investigate, fish out and prosecute all those
who may have a hand in the spate of killings,
arson and violence in Rivers State.
"Wholesome peace must be restored in
Rivers State so that violence does not
continue to be a reason to deny the people
representation in the political milieu."
