But the other day he said he will be here to 2018, that is what is wrong with our politicians, they don't want to leave, can't they take a cue from GEJ?

The day Sheriff made that statement i knew his intentions for the party are not good.

Politics › Re: I Can’t Be PDP Chairman At All Cost, I’m Ready To Vacate Office – Sheriff by gare(f): 12:22pm On Jun 29, 2016
tommykiwi:
The factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ali Modu Sheriff, has said he is ready to vacate his office only if the party’s leadership ask him to leave.

Sheriff’s comment follows the leadership crises currently rocking the opposition party after PDP claimed that the tenure of the factional leader had elapsed.

The party went ahead to inaugurate Sen. Ahmed Makarfi as the Chairman of a National Caretaker Committee to take over the leadership of the party.

But speaking when some state chairmen of the party paid him a solidarity visit in Abuja yesterday, Sheriff maintained that it was wrong for a faction of the party to attempt to push him aside when he was elected by the members of the party at its National Executive Committee meeting.

According to Sheriff, “I’m ready to go. I’m not saying I must be the national chairman at all costs. I was invited to lead the party and the election that brought me to office was done at the NEC Hall of the party at its national secretariat.

“Four other aspirants contested against me at the NEC meeting.

“The governors invited me among others to be considered by the NEC and the NEC sat and elected me as the national chairman of the party

“There’s nothing personal about my being there or individual pride about it. It is about the rule of law and the rule of law must not give way to illegalities.”

The former Borno State governor told the state chairmen that he was aware that his tenure would end in 2018, stressing that the former chairman that he replaced, Ahmed Mu’azu, was elected in 2014.

“Ahmed Mu’azu got his election when former President, Goodluck Jonathan was elected as the party’s presidential candidate in 2015. I replaced him. So, my tenure would expire after four years in office,” he added.

Please party leaders just text or call him by phone or send WhatsApp message to Sheriff to go he has done enough, I pity that Cairo from my state following him around.

Sheriff just go no worry, but the court will still rule and disgrace you because you brought it on yourself, by we would have forgotten about you but you insisted on staying back, now you begging party leaders to fire you .

Politics › Re: Rivers State Governors Destruction Of "Criminal Den" Lega Implication. by gare(f): 12:04pm On Jun 29, 2016
lordcabasa:
ON THE RECENT DESTRUCTION OF CRIMINALS DEN IN RUMUOLUMENI COMMUNITY BY THE RIVERS STATE GOVERNOR. his excellency GOV. E. N. WIKE CON.

First of all I praise the steadfastness and efficiency of the Rivers State governor in tackling developments and the rise in criminality that has bedevilled our State lately, His amnesty offer & equipping of the Police and Military must be encouraged by all well meaning Nigerians.

Having said the obvious, It is my hope and candid opinion that such fights of good over evil in pursuit of peace, fairness, equity & justice must and ought to be done within the ambits of the law.

The office of the Rivers state Governor is a creation of law as enshrined under S. 5(2)(a) of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria AS AMENDED. I thus find it so disturbing when on the 28th of June 2016, the Governor His excellency Chief Ezenwo Wike, announced that every den of criminals shall be destroyed and the property used to build barracks and police stations; a threat he has already made good by destroying the criminal den at Eagle Cement Road Iwofe, and the property of an alleged criminal hideout rumoured to be situated around St. Johns along Iwofe/Coe road, as great an idea as this may appear, I wish to point out that I know of no known law that empowers the governor to be both the judge and the prosecutor at the same time.

Firstly, According to S. 36(4) Of the constitution of Nigeria as amended, the accused remains innocent until the contrary is proven by a competent court of law, and the acts of the governor as displayed above to my mind, appears to adjudge the accused as criminals until the contrary is proven.

Secondly, the acts of destroying and forceful acquisition of the properties of convicted kidnaps, armed robber etc Appears to be a borrowed leaf from Anambra State under the previous administration of the state.
Maybe, I need remind his excellency being a lawyer himself and a member of the prestigious Body of Benchers that the Supposed Act of destruction of criminal dens in Anambra state was pursuant to a legislation passed by the Anambra state house of Assembly, I believe, a power which the governor acted on in accordance with S.5(2)(b) of the C. F. R. N 1999. And I doubt because I know of no known law or legislation in Rivers State empowering the Governor to carry out his above Actions as at today.

Lastly there is no known law to my mind that stipulates that failure to report the criminal acts of a tenant shall have consequences on such landlord, if this is true, why then shall a landlord be forced to loose his property for leasing his house to fellow country men for a fee? Will such law not make Landlords weary of giving out such properties to strangers? Will such fear not mean that we treat our selves as suspects? Will such suspicions not cause disaffection in society instead of National Integration?

I therefore call on the Rivers State Government to act within the law rather than perceived abuse of Executive powers as these will not support the social contract theory, hence the aggrieved must be duly compensated and a proper legislation made by the Rivers state house of Assembly to guide and legalise the future acts of the Governor in these regards; hence I call on all well meaning Nigerians, civil societies and journalists to do the needful because today its not our properties involved but can we say same about tomorrow?

Caveat: This article is not intended to sponsor one political party over another, as I hold the office of the Governor in high esteem and will never be reduced to a pun in the hands of anyone or group of persons.

Did he go to court to get judgement? Or did you send him an open letter ? Whatever you call yourself I beg to allow the government do its job and stop come here to do your law assignment or looking for relevance.
Politics › Re: Wike Resurrects Lloyd’s Murder Trial by gare(f): 10:30am On Jun 29, 2016
neolboy:
The Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal has reserved 26th September for hearing of an appeal by a former Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Chidi Lloyd.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress from Emohua Local Government Area is facing trial for alleged attempted murder, in a case related to the fracas in the Rivers State House of Assembly in July, 2013.

DAILY POST recalls that a Port Harcourt High Court had discharged and acquitted Lloyd after months of incarceration under former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

But the present government decided to revisit the matter, which border on alleged attack on the member representing Obio-Akpor Constituency 2, Michael Chinda.

The PDP administration, under Governor Nyesom Wike believes that the case against Lloyd was not judiciously disposed.

As a result, Lloyd had approached the Appellate Court to challenge the fresh charges.

Meanwhile, the Court of Appeal has fixed 26th September to begin hearing of the appeal, after the State Attorney-General, Emma Aguma, asked it to dismiss the appeal for lack of merit.

Egyptians you see today, tomorrow you say see them no more, how is market Chidi Lloyd, if it was a sane country or government whether you are opposition or ruling party he should be in jail cooling off, instead you contested and lost that's God first punishment for you atrocities, secondly your sins in the house is now being visited since you APC in Rivers State say we will not see peace, everyone of you will also not know peace.

Every atrocities that saint Amaechi swept under the carpet is stinking and there's need to clean the house, it very unfortunate that yours came first, would advice you don't waste your money because the whole world saw your actions. Egyptians we have seen you today how is market now.

Well I am looking beyond Bello not paying salaries, I know that is not a good thing, but I don't think Federal Govt has the power to stop Governors from travelling, these are all signs of dictatorship, we should not all this to continue, I am not holding brief for the governor's.

But once we see a bad process we should speak against it, there are better ways to make the Governor sit up, but by restricting is movement, that's wrong, he is not a criminal, he should not be treated that way.

ZUBY77:
I don't play hatred game but I like to point out mistakes when men seems to be blinded by whatever they believe in.
The confusion that came with Religion is why we are where we are today.

Buhari said "We must learn to respect other people's Religion so we can live in peace"
If the Christian believers are as violent as his Muslim fanatics, someone would have yanked that cap off with his head.

By making that statement, Buhari simply told the Muslims and Christians to kill anyone who doesn't respect their Religion.

....And for the record, I don't care about the two Religions or any other Religion for that matter. So this is not me against you.
The simple answer to your observations is that those with caps on are fanatics, while does without caps are not , like Fashola he is a Moslem but his cap is off. But you should that Buhari doesn't care about Christianity.

Fayose is foolish. Ben Bruce and even the clueless one got more brains when it comes to covering their tracks. How can you steal such huge amount and be making trouble for everybody. Ben with all his 'commonsense' noise quickly issued a plea from his constituency (Twittersphere), that his problem with AMCON will be resolved amicably - possibly begging them to give a little time and scurried to look for way to pay back. GEJ too, when he saw it'd be over managed to strike a deal - and at least he's been afloat up to this moment. Even though I don't rhyme with these men, they know how to preserve themselves.
