FamilyRe: My New Marriage Is About To Crash by GenderMix: 7:30am On Mar 04, 2024
immortalcrown:
Never you prioritize material things or "connection" when choosing a spouse. This guy's major problem is not the lady's infertility.

The lady's physique and mouth odour are the problem here. He accepted her out of his desperation to enter Canada. Now that he has satisfied his curiosity to see Canada, he wants to be real. This is exploitation.

On the lady's part, she is wrong if she knew her fertility status ahead of the marriage arrangement and hid it from the guy. What about the friend that linked them up, didn't she knew these things before the linkage?

Christianity EtcRe: Do This Scripture Contradict Itself And Make The Bible Invalid? by GenderMix: 7:01am On Mar 04, 2024
You "Christians" here are highly dishonest people. The discrepancy here is just so glaring that any reasonable individual would own up to the mistake. It seems to me that this is a Nigerian thing. Little wonder you look at the country with all the years of prayers ,the country never progresses because the people are mainly insincere religious bigots. The painful part is when you try to be logical with them, they start abusing you or calling you derogatory names. Really pathetic.

I always say it that the moment i try to do business with anyone and the person mentions "I am a pastor or Christian" to prove his/her capacity, I see that as a red flag and discontinue the business relationship.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: There's Is Life Outside Work by GenderMix: 10:15am On Feb 29, 2024
Very interesting Topic.
I have never been a fan of working late. Although during my early career days before I got married , I usually sacrifice extra work hours to meet up with deadlines. A lady was my boss then. On a particular day when I got drenched in rain to meet up resumption and I realized that my boss never cared and i had asked for a raise earlier. I just went to my desk , drafted a resignation letter and off i went. She begged me afterwarsd but i refused.

In the new office, i made up my mind never to commit an extra time except it is extremely important. I resumed the normal time and close exactly 5pm ensuring that i finish all tasks for the day. I made it clear to my male boss that i value my family over anything and he respects that. Worked for some years , got raise even though I leave earlier than everyone...lol

Today i work from anywhere I like and i focus seriously on my family.

CareerRe: My Former Company Refuse To Acknowledge My Pension by GenderMix: 1:21pm On Feb 27, 2024
Your pension is your property and no one has the right to deprive you of the 25%. It can only be delayed

Here is my advice- Visit the office and humbly meet with the HR and explain yourself. You might get someone who Is close to the HR or admin officer to talk your case over. If you need to apologise please do so, if you need to hand over properly just do so and move on.

What the pension guys wants to confirm is if you actually resigned officially
RomanceRe: No Matter How Deep You Love A Lady, Never Do These Five Things For Her by GenderMix: 11:49am On Feb 27, 2024
This is actually spot on. 🙌💪👍

The thing about love (infatuation) is that there is a disconnect between the brain and reality. The sense of judgement at that point is blurred. It's like a sickness.

It takes serious maturity to get a hold of yourself during the period of infatuation and not act foolishly. This advice will only work for youngsters who are open minde , surrounded by people with experience and are willing to learn because in reality, emotions can be checked
Christianity EtcRe: Correcting Freeze's Heretic Assertion That "Jesus Drank Alcohol" by GenderMix: 5:24am On Feb 27, 2024
damosky12:
If you want to drink alcohol, free free to indulge yourself in your drinking and drunkenness.

It's either you lack a proper command of English language or you're just rude.

I am a "fanatic" (you know what that means??) for explicitly going through the scriptures in response to an error. But you trying to validate your drunkenness or "drinking" out of all is there is the ideal believer? How absurd! grin
You actually sound like a fanatic because you're trying to disprove scientific logic to justify your belief.

BBIA and kobojunkie are 💯 right.

The Bible is clear about Jesus drinking wine. Wine is fruit that has undergone fermentation. That's why it's called wine. our grandparents and fore fathers enjoyed wine let alone people of old. Infact the wine had lots of health benefits if you understand the science behind fermentation.

So coming here to twist the scripture and scientific facts just to make it look like Jesus never took alcohol makes you look dishonest. This is one thing I find very irritating in many who profess to be christians

Not up to 24hrs ago, I mentioned that with the way the northern kingpins were complaining about this government, they may instigate northern soldiers to stage a coup de tat.

People who thinking Nigeria has gone past this stage are just joking. Tinubu should thread carefully and watch his back. Any slight shake in the form a protest that's 75% effective I Lagos and Abuja, might make such aspiration a reality.

May God help us
PoliticsRe: "Nigeria Has Failed, Must Be Reformed" - Professor-Ango-Abdullahi by GenderMix: 5:33pm On Feb 25, 2024
These northern kingpins can't be trusted. All of a sudden they've found their voices.

I am not a fan of Tinubu but I think he should watch his back. Anything is possible with these northerners especially when power doesn't favor. They can even silently instigate northern soldiers to stage a coup de tat.

@OP
I am really happy for you. I think you should print this message to your wife , laminate it or frame it and hang on your wall😆. She deserves all the praises and good things

As you appreciate your wife online also make sure you do same offline and in front of your children so that the kids can learn the power of appreciation and be inspired. The world today is full of so much toxicity and we can get rid of such by openly commending people for their little efforts instead of criticizing.

That said, I am also appreciative of the kind of wife God has blessed me with 🙏.

Hi guys.
I'm planning to visit my girl's parent for the first time in two weeks time.
We know each other from a distance but I want to officially show my face cos I want to marry her this year.
I have taken her to my parents already.

what should I expect?
Just be yourself. They still see you as her friend so nothing spectacular until a formal introduction with your people

Don't bother going with any gift . You don't need to impress anyone. Be plain and straight to the point when asked any questions.

It's very important to accept whatever gift they give you. Even if it's food, accept and join them to eat. More importantly is to specially thank them for their gesture in receiving you to their home.

Please don't talk too much. Talk only when it's necessary.

Which Red Oil and cholesterol? You're playing with your health by running away from something very good to a very terrible choice. Better consult a trained nutritionist and not those fake doctors telling you what they know absolutely nothing about. The so-called 'groundnut' oil you're using is nothing but highly processed palm olein which is terrible for your health and wellbeing.

Better run away from it and continue using normal Red Oil(Palm oil) which is good for your health. If you don't want to use Red Oil, which by the way has nothing to do with cholesterol, then go for Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil,etc.

Seed oils are generally bad for you.

Wetin I dey hear so? Ororo for soup? 👀 👀 shocked...

From time immemorial we have been using Palm oil to prepare our local dishes and no body has ever suffered from cholesterol until we started switching to vegetable oils.

Palm oil is our own and it's very rich and tasty for soups. Please stop bringing those western style of cooking to replace our native cultural delicacy.

Vegetable oil has it uses. Let our local Palm oil dish use palm oils.
I respect our palm oil 💪. It has come a long way. I just want to be sure it's not causing any harm.

There's no health hazard of any kind in using palm oil to cook soup. Soups come out better with palm oil than groundnut oil.
Can you cook banga soup with groundnut oil?
Banga soup doesn't require any form of oil because there is oil naturally in the Banga

I don't know who is teaching you but your wife is very correct. Based on health ground you doing yourself more harm than good. Red oil is healthy apart from cholesterol which is low in it. If you are fighting cholesterol then use exercise and other means not using adulterated products of nowadays called vegetable oil.
I agree on the exercise aspect. Red oil has it's benefits and I'm not totally disregarding it. I have to read up on vegetable oil
Thanks

JuanDeDios:
Someone is giving you BAD advice. For health-conscious people, there are only three oils for cooking:
1. Coconut oil
2. Olive oil
3. Palm oil

Vegetable oils (the one you're calling "groundnut oil" ) go through production processes that make them very very unhealthy. Everything they've told you about cholesterol is wrong. I can't go into it in detail now, but read up.

You can eat butter and ghee too, but RUN from margarine!
I can understand. Thanks
FoodRe: Cooking Soups With Only Groundnut Oil Instead Of Palm (red)oil by GenderMix(op): 3:51pm On Dec 29, 2023
Free2Fly:
You can use any of the vegetable oils(groundnut oil, olive oil, etc) in place of palm oil for any food you want to prepare.

In fact, that's what's is being used abroad. No one uses palm oil, except Nigerians who traveled with it because of their traditional link with it.

Palm oil is has a high content of palmitic acid(saturated fat) and is less healthy compared to groundnut and olive oils(which have high concentrations of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats).

As you are concerned about your cholesterol levels, you need to avoid it as much as you can.
Don't listen to these unenlightened Nigerians who prefer to use olive oil for miracles instead of cooking for which it's primarily meant for.
Thanks alot

I find it utmost difficult using groundnut oil to make stew,I always use redoil.

This is the reason if I want to eat rice outside,I 'll always opt for ofea-kwu as against groundnut oil stew.

I understand your point on this!
Interesting. Lol.
I like the redoil stew but I just prefer groundnut oil

I believe you'll love groundnut oil stew just that you prefer the red oil type.

Dear Family,

I have been having this back and forth debate with my wife regarding cooking soup with groundnut oil as against red oil but she is on the negative. I had cooked Egusi soup with groundnut oil and it taste really nice. I had also done same with okra sea food and its really nice. The reason why I want to do away with red oil is because I have been advised on my cholesterol level and the odour from palm (red) oil doesn't sit well with me these days.

I want to serve my visitors Egusi soup prepared with groundnut oil but she's declined because she's not sure how it will be received....lol

Does anyone have experiences with cooking soups with only groundnut oil and how does it taste. okra, bitterleaf, oha, vegetable, edikaikong, egusi, etc
