SO if i say it maybe needed for ghanians, does that mean Nigerians should also go and get it? Is Nigeria same as ghana?

chyk2020: Please house, i only have my bsc statement of result(2008) which is given to me in 2009 prior to when the certificate will be ready after 4yrs. i just called school yesterday to inquire if the certificate is ready but was told that flood has taken over my school in bayelsa and they have vacated currently due to the flood disaster. my interview is slated for november, can i go with my statement of result and nysc certificate. will it be ok?

You got no problem with that. Your statement of result (Notification of result) is given in lieu of your certificate pending when it's ready.

Not needed BUT may be REQUIRED.....Nigerians in the house take a cue from this. It's not needed, but you got nothing to loose if you can afford to have one around.

adzovia: please guys the Ghana embassy has a page on facebook called "us embassy ghana" and today the vice counsel was answering questions posed by people on the wall concerning the 2014 visa lottery. someone asked about the second draw of the 2013 lottery and this were her words "US Embassy Ghana Hi Kofi. There will NOT be a second draw for the DV 2013 season. The 2013 DV draw has been completed and successful entrants notified. If your number was not chosen, you did not win. Entrants can check their status for the 2013 DV Lottery program online at dvlottery.state.gov any time up to September 30 2013."

Under the circumstance, whatever the embassy officials say in response to enquiries about AOS is inconsequential. I'll rather have it though I might not need it than have a 21 yr old industrial attache (CO) at the embassy embarass me for my stupidity.

form 1-134 i need to fill or if theres another one to be attached to it and i would also like to know if the person is supposed to send that directly to the embassy. If theres any ghanaian in here that has also mailed the embassy and recevd fdbk, pls share. im seriously praying that it wont be needed just like in the case of my naija people.

That's the spirit......just in case. Anyway, the form in question is not meant for you to fill. A US citizen or a Legal permanent resident can fill that form for you if they so wish. If you got relatives in the US who meet the above status, then try speaking with them on the possibility. It's really not a big deal as we are made to believe. Goodluck!

The window of opportunity for DV 2012 winners is closed. There CAN'T be any issuance of visa after the September 30th deadline. This is a new era. The era of DV 2013.

I have form i-134 in my laptop and I am very conversant with the numbers Kemzone referred to.

If your relatives send you such vital document with a view to house and feed you till you can fend for yourself, how does that affect him? One thing you can never lack in the States is good food, clothings and shelter from your host. What more do you want? I no get bush around my Festac residence to beat around o.

The only reason why you knew they evaded tax was because they were CAUGHT. That's the point I am making. The Law is meant to be broken. However, punitive measures are in place to serve as deterrent. This guy just they yap me anyhow. We'll still be best friends someday. It's difficult to live in the States and not file tax returns. The system makes tax evading and avoidance difficult. As for bank statements, the system already knows your monthly income and expected tax returns even if you don't disclose.

temmytanny: I am not saying people shouldnt go extra length to get some things but as for AOS,if you ask your host esp the one not too close to you,you will see how the person will react. Some might even change attitude towards you. Getting AOS in US entails and reveals alot about your host and most of them dont like it. If you are very close to your host and you feel he wont be offended,you can try it. All the best

Form I-134 is just an attestation with a bank statement and tax returns of a US citizen or a permanent resident pledging to support you until toy find your footing. There is nothing curious about it.

I deliberately refused to consider that remark as rude though it's not polite. And really, no one is confusing anyone except those who want to be confused. I play safe and encourage others to do likewise. While AOS May not be necessary, having one, If your sponsor is Willing to give you, does not make anyone here confused, rather cautious.

My brother, I don't doubt you. I believe you. The word discretionary is more of a legal term than an ordinary English word. By my training, I understand its import and hence the reason for my counsel. Really if you ask me, there is nothing wrong with having one tucked away some where just incase. You have written the embassy and they said it's not needed. That's Ok. But as long as the CO has the discretionary powers conferred on him to ask or otherwise, it's only instructive to procure one if a sponsor is Willing to assist.

Congrats my brother for being selected. Affidavit of Support MAY no longer be applicable to Nigerian selectees though I have not personally verified this position. However, it's stated that the CO reserves the discretion to ask or otherwise. My simple counsel has always been to keep one handy if you got a sponsor willing to give you one. If you got no one, well, go as you're. It's well.

nery4u: Here i am o! It didn't works out o. The CO said that they dnt have enough time to process my case nd said i have another chance to play in the DV 2014 if i still want to obtain dv visa and gave me the website. He returned all my original documents to me all in the name of time shortage. Besides no denial sheet that will state the reason of my denied were issued to me. Well my conclusion is ''God is still Faithful''. I Wish all dv 2013 winners favour of God in their interview ijn.

I am so sorry to hear this. I can imagine how you feel. Please take heart and be assured of a bright future. Going to the US is not the ultimate. Fulfilling destiny is. I have a friend who was brought home for burial from the US. He was shot dead by gangsters for something he knew nothing about. If you ask me, he could have been better home than abroad. Take courage and move on undeterred.

My dear brother, I am on this site round the clock, watching and waiting. I have said what I think is necessary. I choose to post only when I consider it absolutely necessary. It appears some of my inputs are contentious hence my decision to lie low. Let him go thru the thread and do what is right. I will recommend an authenticated NPC birth cert and AOS anyday though it MAY not be necessary. If anything is said to be discretionary, it means the CO can choose to follow the rule or otherwise. Interestingly, his decision is FINAL. To be over prepared is better than never. Goodluck!

Visas were delivered this morning by DHL along with two sealed envelopes for border agents. We have 6 months from interview day to get to the US. Hoping to leave by year end. It now seems real to me seeing my cancelled visitors visa and new immigrant visa in our passports.

Congrats Tosmy. Initialy shocked by your bogus claims until I realized you were interviewed in South America. Congrats once again.
