In 2020 I lost my job (I should have said A job, not MY job, because saying my job makes me feel ‘entitled’, but you get the gist).

Two weeks after that job loss, I started actively engaging on social media and sharing my job loss journey.

Layoffs are happening again and I see same trend happening again in Africa.

Even though I attained all these about same age as yours, I did not leave my parents house. I had a steady serious altar-bound relationship and focused entirely on career progression as a young Professional and my relationship.

Actually, it was very obvious that I can be on my own but I did not leave my parents house. I was never asked to contribute for electricity, food etc. My Dad just won't outsource his role even though he knew I could be on my own. It is now that I realize that he was happy to provide a sanctuary for his children. Regardless of my age and status then, he still sees me as his son.

If you do not have any hassle living with your parents and you are not from a dysfunctional family, honestly, you will not move out of your parents house until it is time to get married even if you are swimming in millions

I left my parent house at a much older age, and i was already making millions, i just didn't find any need to leave yet., I bought my first car and land in my parent's house. But i made sure i spend a minimum of 500k on their house yearly, this is enough for me to rent a decent mini flat in lagos, one year i fenced the compound , another year i put a roller gate, another year I floored the compound. Living with my parent helped me reduced being too promiscuous at that time because they monitor every female that comes to visit and that helped my life to a great extent. No friend or girl would label me as being broke because it was evident that i could afford my own apartment but i chose to stay for my own personal reasons.

Stop the cap and face life reality. its not living with or outside your parent's house that determines your success in life. Keep doing something.

I'm a MCB finalist in one of the topmost universities in Nigeria. The ongoing ASUU-FG tussle has affected me badly. When it all began, I knew I had to do something productive, so I revamped my freelance content writing journey by signing up on Upwork and Fiverr. I'm actually a freelance content writer in the sports (football, boxing and MMA), pet and entertainment niches.

I haven't had it easy since I started working on Upwork and Fiverr around February, it's been full of ups and downs, now I think I need something else to engage in for the time being. I need something to keep myself busy throughout the course of the industrial action.

So my friend got this job in management because he knew somebody in that company. But there is high expectations from the company for him to deliver positive results as one of the managers in that company.

This my friend is a university graduate with second class lower result and this manager position is for guys with first class results.

In lieu of this, your friend is on the average or minimum but he can work himself up to the maximum and dine with the best of the best. Your friend graduated since 2014 nd didn’t build himself up maybe that’s why he thought he is a fraud on the job. A lot of commenters has said enough, in a sane climes they don’t look your grades but rather go with your competences. Since your friend feels he doesn’t have the enough grade and yet not competent, let him just see the opportunity as a ladder to better himself. He will learn on the job.

One of my friend has this popular saying that no body owe you anything in this life, even your parent inclusive. He further stressed that if you start blaming or pointing fingers to anyone for your misfortune, then u are a lazy entitled being. Your father neglect you of basic needs even thou he’s capable and that’s very bad of him, but I want you to believe that there are many out there facing thesame pathetic scenario.
