tensazangetsu20:OP, please take this advice, and make sure you find yourself in Atlanta. It is very important. With the growing number of AA men (handsome men o) becoming homosexuals, African men are in hot demand. Dont say I didn't help you o |
ednut1:They find it harder just as our men do with second-generation Nigerian-American women. Which is why our men target AA women. Indians don't enjoy that privilege. Our women in the US would be more sceptical about a Nigerian immigrant than an AA women. Also, it is a game of numbers. Omo, I gats visit Atlanta o ![]() |
hedonido:I am curious, are you saying there are no boring men who are financially comfortable? Boring in my definition, means they concern themselves with what they do for a living, they are not popular, you rarely see their antics on social media, and they have boring hobbies as men. They might drink every weekend, but they are seemingly quiet and hate too much attention. Are you saying such men don't exist? ![]() |
Pepperdemisback:So, he later begged Amaju? ![]() I am glad some people don't tolerate nonsense. If you hit them, they hit you back in equal terms! |
mrrandomguy: ![]() To be fair, the TeeBillz na mumu man. You don't issue threats, you work on them immediately. Aparrently, the wife is more audacious than he is. |
Nicepoker:No difference. All animals can be eaten depending on the person eating it. No animal is more equal than the other; all animals are beneath humans. |
BRATISLAVA:Sorry, but animal rights cannot work in a poor country. Nairaland is a microcosm of Nigeria. Even if such images are not displayed, there are countless Nigerians in various places killing animals the way they like. It is better for visitors to Nairaland to know this, rather than expect a lovey-dovey image of Nigeria regarding how animals are treated. cc: coputa |
Nairalandforme:It is good you know it is not easy to remain after studies in the US. That said, no company will issue you a work visa based on truck driving. Your best aim is to marry an American, most likely an African American, so you can obtain Green Card status (permanent residency). Also, authorities don't recognise certain skills certifications obtained from certain developing countries. If that were possible, the US would have listed Nigeria alongside South Africa in visa classes for certain jobs. ednut1:I checked Reddit/MBA, the labour market is dealing with foreigners really bad. Indians don hear am after collecting hooge loans. That is the advantage our people, especially men, have: there is an existing black population to mingle with and marry. Like this now, if I want to school in the US, I would target Atlanta where rumours have it that black women are in dire need of single and heterosexual black men to date and marry. CaveAdullam:Thanks for the mention. That book was what made me understand corruption is not necessarily Nigeria's problem but the over-dependence on government entities. The government has no business in the business of business. It should act as a regulatory force, not operating. My stance on statistics is based on personal beliefs and academic background: in my field (right from undergrad), if you say anything, you must support it with facts. You cannot just say something and go like that. Expect a barrage of questions: how, why, where, what, which, why not, etc. At first, e go be as if the questionnaires hate you, but it helped me organise the way I see things. Nothing like trust me bro or I no fit lie give you or dem tell me say. That behaviour nearly cause problem with me and my departmental mates then. But with time, anyone discussing issues with me was careful at making categorical statements, because I will ask for the source. Another moniker of mention is IbeOkehie: He made me understand Nigerians don't own land, there is still subsidy on petroleum products, and I like his capitalistic mentality. I thought I was a profound capitalist until I came across his posts. |
I will go first; Cococandy: I have been following her posts for more than ten years now. While I don't agree with all, I respect her views and applaud her consistency. CaveAdullam: Pretty detailed posts. Acidosis: He comes across as a mature man. Those days, I wondered if he was the same person as Acidtalk as both have or had (I no too sabi) conservative views. But Acidtalk was more raw. Nevertheless, 'Dosis' posts have been consistent and well-mannered. I do admire them. Pocohantas: Obviously popular to most Nlders, I find most of her posts to be hilarious, yet honest. She is raw and doesn't care what people say about her. Overall, she is consistent, and most importantly, she is a one-woman-army. At a point, I used to imagine her punching into the air when replying to certain posts and Nlders. LordAdam1: He comes across as a big man who has seen everything. There was a reply he gave me that changed my perspective towards entrepreneurship, which I hold till date. Na him favourite way to ending each post with "Lord" wey dey burst my head. |
There are some Nairalanders you as a Nairalander don't follow (you cannot follow everyone anyway), but you admire their posts. You might not agree with their views on all issues, but you respect them because of how truthful, encompassing and "mature" the posts come across. Who could they be? |
People who hid noodles aka Indomie? |
It is one of the most unrealistic Nigerian social media spheres. I still cannot forget most arguing that many Nigerians have refrigerators where they store their foods with 24/7 electricity. All in a bid to appear to foreigners, especially white people, that the country is prosperous. Any diasporan who wants to better understand Nigeria for what it is and Nigerians for who they are should stick to Nairaland. I don't say this because I am a member, but because it is the truth. You learn about Nigeria(ns) from Nairaland. For instance, the comment above mine has gone tribalistic even though the original post and previous commentators did not mention an ethnic group. This should tell you that the average Nigerian is a tribalist who will invoke tribal slurs and words if push comes to shove. So, don't expect people to shine their 32 always. You won't learn that on Reddit. Also, the OP would have gotten more introspective and broader comments if it asked on Nairaland as those who left recently (they know Nigeria better than him wey don siddon put in the UK for 15 years) are domiciled here. How can he know why Nigerians are fleeing by asking on a forum where the majority don't reside in Nigeria? People who believe Nigerians don't "warm" their soups? What do they know about Nigeria? I bet they cannot point Kogi on the Nigerian map. This is the problem with certain diasporans who don't keep up with Nigerians from a broader perspective. That is why when they return (assuming they do rather than siddon put for 15 years), they live in certain areas and demand certain perks without understanding the system. They will live in Lekki and begin to scream tHe cOuNtRy iS eXpEnSiVe yen yen yen! |
Jewessgratitud3:Typical uneducated and unexposed Nigerian displaying dictatorial tendencies. Most of you will be worse than Tinubu. The Romance section is noted for sexual posts and content. There is nothing wrong with that. If a sexual post is posted in the Religion section, it is appropriate to remove it, not in the Romance section. How is that hard for you to grasp?! I reiterate my stance: a prudish person should not moderate the Romance section. It would be grossly unfair to its patrons. |
Jewessgratitud3:I am not even active in this section, but you are a prudish person judging from your posts and numerous monikers; blessedchen and mercychen. I don't care if you kiss anyone, but no prude should moderate a section where sexual contents are the norm. It is akin to making a reverend father the head of a nightclub. In fact, judging from your posts, you are not even qualified to moderate the Family section let alone the Romance section where hormones run rife. Whilst the section needs someone to clamp down on the anti-women posts and threads, a prude should not head this section. You are a prude and overly sanctimonious person. Please don't mention me ever again.Total bunkum! Who the fvck are you that I should not mention?! Is Nairaland your papa house? |
JOACHINpedro:I second this nomination. You need a balance, but for the love of whatever you love Seun, don't appoint a prudish and sanctimonious moderator to moderate this section. It is an oxymoron. I rather have born2fuck head this section than one pretentious individual. |
dayjeee:No no no! A prudish person should not head the Romance section. |
Chingyyy878:Yes, it is a nice location, but due to distance, no nearby embassy and the general cost of things there, it is an expensive place. So, anyone going there from Nigeria must be extremely financially comfortable. Mauritius and Seychelles are better off. |
pansophist:I recall a direct flight from Ghana to either the Bahamas or Barbados was inaugurated by authorities from both countries. So one can move from say Lagos to Ghana and then those Caribbean Islands. But like you said, a transit visa from the UK or US is mandatory. |
Alore:When you campaigned and voted in 2015 for an incompetent feudalist who had antecedents dating to 1984, you automatically became a Buharist! After doing that, you fled like a dog drenched in hot water with tails between its smelly legs to the abroad. Why didn't you stay to enjoy the fruits of labour eh, Mr-I-Voted-For-A-Man-Who-Will-Phight-Kwarraption?!! |
Proserpina: Jesus! Na so e be for some sections inside this Nairaland? Haba! For nine years?! |
UptownVibes:Praising murderers or belittling the murder of a girl is not an interesting or funny thing. Most of the comments I see when there is news of a murdered female are disgusting and appalling. No excuses for such comments. When feminist were calling we men scum, you been travel that time? Now that we guys are saying no to bulshit,na now you dey find rules.Well, I agree with you here. When the likes of Uloma and Co were promoting men's hatred on Twitter, no one called them to order. Action begets reaction. Andrew Tate was only known for boxing. Na dem Feminazis first start trouble. |
Odunharry:They are way more anti-women's posts. It has gotten worse within the last four years. |
Calitoscassius:
|
InvertedHammer:I for like visit there to see how the place be like. ![]() The news around says there are more women than men in Atlanta, so maybe the women put up those appearances to attract men. The rumour also has it that women there are willing to put up with cheating men so far they are the main women in these men's lives. |
Alore:Who told you I am in Nigeria? Unlike you, my parents warned me sternly that Buhari was up to no good. In fact, when he was declared the winner, I was with my dad watching the TV. There and then, he said, "we have to re-plan our lives because Buhari will wreck this country's economy. He did it in 1984, he would do it again". Buhari had antecedents dating to 1984, but intellectwats like you who enjoyed economic growth under OBJ & GEJ said he was the best thing since sliced bread because he would phight kwarraption! You lots who voted for Buhari in 2015 should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves after fleeing the country. Let me see any of you miscreants chant racism or accuse the West of empowering feminism or gay rights. Alore:Someone who wasn't told or taught or read history. It is so obvious. How did Buhari phight kwarraption in 1984? It was his right hand Tunde who initiated most of those policies, but intellectwats believed Buhari was an anti-kwarraption crusader. Someone who never engaged in ANY intellectual conversation or discourse after leaving PTDF in the late '90s. Someone who was begged for THREE DAYS by international powers to call his irate and blood-tasting supporters to order after they rioted because he lost in 2011. Someone who declared that "dogs and baboons will be soaked in blood". I have no regrets!Buharists are largely shameless people. Expecting them to have a modicum of shame is akin to pigs flying! |
IbeOkehie: Alore:He relocated. Clowns voted for Buhari in 2015 only to japa. Useless people! |
Greenfaces:Even if they were paying to the bride's family, I would understand because Malaysia is WAY RICHER, SAFE AND ORGANISED than anywhere in Nigeria. If an ethnic group charges a high bride price, that ethnic group should have high development indices. An ethnic group cannot be poor, wretched, and lose their people to Fulani marauders YET charge exorbitant fees as bride price. |
CaptainFM1:Madness! Why should a friend be responsible for your marriage rites?!!! It is total madness! It is your responsibility because you got married. Did you marry for the whole world? Why should I lend you money, not for a business or to buy a house, to get married?!!! God!!! No wonder poverty is ubiquitous in Nigeria. So people lend money to others to get married?!! Chineke! ![]() |
maxiuc:Which part of Owerri is that? Why is the bride price and marriage rites so expensive in Imo in general? |
Jking20:So you sell your daughters? No be slave trade be that? Sorry, but if an ethnic group practices certain traditions YET constitutes one of the poorest in an already poor country, has one of the worst HDI figures and allows Fulani terrorists to butcher their people without retaliation, that ethnic group is USELESS! |
FuckYeyeMods:Can't they kick against it since they are responsible for the daughter in question? Why should the in-laws have more say in marriage rites than the parents since the parents are alive? |
