oyin01:I've been told by those who are from there that Maiduguri itself is okay, but that it's the other towns and villages around it that are now the hotbeds. |
The experience was nourishing, though back then it seemed frustrating. While I agree that it should be made voluntary, we also should not forget that the NYSC scheme has played a huge role in the little integration we've had so far in our national history. But then, even basic economics shows that the programme can't be sustained for long, if they keep insisting that it should be made compulsory. |
steveeeee5:See this Suberu here. Why will the Yorubas hate the Igbos? Have you taken your panadol today? |
kaeforum:Some of the components of the cars were imported while some other components were made right there in Nnewi. Besides, most of those working at the assembly plant are Nigerians. This is a leap forward. We must commend it. |
Lovely! Just lovely!! Haven't enjoyed a story this long on NL in a while. Thanks, OP. |
It's been almost 90 days since Ambode too over, besides the allegations against BRF, I've not read anything as per his achievements so far in the media. Let him kontinu, Agbaje lurks. |
opeaceo:You know what they say, "Google is your friend." ![]() |
This is what the Yorubas call "s'agbe l'oju yoyo". All na cosme-TICKs. E remain 38 months make him tenure end. No be handouts we wan chop. Besides, what about those traders plying their trade on the road (NOTE: not roadside o, ON THE ROAD) around oja oba? When are they getting their own compensation because they too need to go! And someone should please help tell the architect of modern Ekiti that Ekiti is not limited to Ado Ewi. |
opeaceo:Take it: You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may tread me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I'll rise. Does my sassiness upset you? Why are you beset with gloom? 'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells Pumping in my living room. Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise. Did you want to see me broken? Bowed head and lowered eyes? Shoulders falling down like teardrops. Weakened by my soulful cries. Does my haughtiness offend you? Don't you take it awful hard 'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines Diggin' in my own back yard. You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I'll rise. Does my sexiness upset you? Does it come as a surprise That I dance like I've got diamonds At the meeting of my thighs? Out of the huts of history's shame I rise Up from a past that's rooted in pain I rise I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide, Welling and swelling I bear in the tide. Leaving behind nights of terror and fear I rise Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear I rise Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise I rise I rise. ![]() |
Mine is Maya Angelou's Still I Rise. Poor me, can't recite it offhand. |
Another day, another ranking, another "number 1" university. Confusion everywhere! |
tola9jaa:MCFC's midfield was in trouble? Is this man talking about the game we all saw or another version? He should keep consoling himself. Jurgen Klopp is readily available. |
Chai! This people dey chop dis thing clean mouth. Where's Shehu Sani who said he was going to publicly declare his pay when he gets to the chambers? Awon legislooters gbogbo. |
Nice! The era of study-hard-and-no-show has passed! |
This Kukah guy don Bleep up. Person we be say I respect before. It's the same with Shehu Sani. What's wrong with this people? How can a sane somebody come out in defence of the yam-eating goats (apologies to the Otuokean)? |
fx45:Fayose started the dualisation exercise during his first tenure in office. Oni continued from where Fayose stopped with the dualisation of the Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki road. Fayemi focused his own dualisation exercise on the Ado-Ekiti metropolis, while also continuing with the dualisation of the Ado-Ifaki road. If you're conversant with Ado very well, the evidence is there for you to see. |
gannod:Oni dualised the road to Ifaki, not Fayose. And you can't credit Fayose for the one leading to Ilawe either (even though the dual-carriage way didn't reach Ilawe). The one Fayose did that reaches a neighbouring town is the one that connects Ado to Ikere. Besides we are talking of the 10 months since he's been the governor in Ekiti now. Care to share the monumental projects he's initiated or commissioned since? |
vikyno:Share pictures if you have any or seal it! |
The lady in question is an adult. She decided to become a 'peacemaker' abroad, with the consent of her mother. We can't always blame the economy, can we? While we have to condemn the sugar mummies for these acts of theirs, we also should not lose sight of who made the choice to join in the first place. |
Take it easy on that weed, OP or whoever the author is. |
I think it is erroneous to refer to these ladies as "girls". Most of them are above 18, and that makes them adults. "Women" would be a better word. When you refer to them as "women", it conveys the idea that they are not being used (because I believe they aren't - they went there on their own volition). BTW, the narration reminds one of those babes, when we dey school, wey dey always go visit their "uncles" every weekend. The hustle is real! |
It's like "I have moved on" is the latest slogan in town now. |
Icecomrade:Do you actually believe the thrash you wrote? Account, in which bank? And to say that Ojukwu facilitated the release of Awo shows just how re-wired your head is. Please, if you must post something, try and do your assignment first! |
Lol* |
asha80:Thank you! Why people still make that mistake, I don't know. It's the same as saying Ikogosi is in Ondo State. And to think it's been 19 years since the divorce... |
Ten months are gone already and there are no laudable projects to show for it. Na dance we go chop? |
Breasts! Three bricks!! OP!!! ![]() |
I hope the government takes decisive action this time. Trafficking vulnerable girls is a crime against humanity. |
After getting mugu maga-ed, the woman now wants a refund. Why on earth will a sane person fall for such stupidity in the first place! 350k + unlimited freestyling for the whole of three days. It doesn't get better than that! Even the woman didn't complain about the sex; she's only suing for the 'why'. |
Ase gun! |
OP, how can you say 'Nigerians are naturally racist'? Are you sure the capital of the country you visited is Abuja, or maybe you should check again? |
UjSizzle:You never can tell na. Maybe the interviewer, thinking he could hit it by being the 601st before Beatrice FINALLY retires, was considering his purse. Lol. |
