I left him because he cheated on me twice online within 1 year, and was very distant from me. Any little problem he would turn his phone off and not reply. Sometimes I was hurting so much, yet he would still ignore me. Any small problem I tried to talk about, he would just tell me I was a headache and then he would stop talking to me again. But not just that, all year he did not have job. I even give him what little money I have for his mother and himself. He asked for money and told me it is very hard to find job in owerri or Lagos and he won't make much. If I did not give him money, he would have no food. I felt bad. We were getting married in two weeks time, but I was just over his treatment of me. He did not do things I wanted in a man. He said he would get himself together when he would move in with me, but I don't know. In the meantime I met someone who was everything I wanted. A good job, a nice place, always communicated with me, always make me feel happy. I had to make a decision to stay with my fiance (soon to be husband) or leave for this guy who is much more my type of man.. so I left my fiance of 1-2 year.

Nothing was changing much with him. And he would not listen on his to keep a woman happy.
I am very heart broken about this. And his sis told me she does not know were he gone. He left her house and went "crazy" she said. I don't know if he is trying to hurt himself or not. He told me yesterday that he tried to end his life. He begged he would change. But he said he will change many times but never does. I feel so bad and worried for him. But he did not care much for me when I was suffering so much and even wanted to die because of his mistreatment. I am hoping he will not take his life. I hope he is just hurting now. And I am hurting too. But sometimes you cannot change someone who does not want to be a better person. Who hurts you daily. And cannot be the man you need.

So this girl has been coming to my place, eat the best food and all that. I've asked her if she has a boyfriend and she said no. I do give her money without asking her for anything on return because I could see she is not the lazy type and she is really hardworking. I am very much ok with finances and I see no issues with some of her demands.


Yesterday I called her and told her that I'm not happy and that I need cuddle only and not sex(I lost so much Dollars from futures trading that night). Mehn, from the loss I had earlier and all that, I got infuriated and called another girl telling to pls come over for the night. Then I told this girl to leave my house since she can be that selfish. I sent her out of my house around 10pm. She was telling me she doesn't have money to go home, I didn't care and I shut my door against her. Though I was scared letting her out on that road and that time of the night but my anger got the better part of me. It was later after getting over the whole thing I confirmed nothing happened to her from someone else.

I decided to do this because of the too many I no fit lie give you answers Nigerians provide to general discourse. The aim is to employ journalists and researchers (graduate students and even professors) who will be on the ground to ask hard questions, get the answers, write about them and publish them in journals. Think about a science journal with lots of citations and references. Na so I wan do am.

To your concerns, the foundation for scientific development must be laid: basic mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology. Mathematics and physics need to be taken seriously, as those are the bedrock of scientific research. Chemistry and biology come in for medical treatments but are built upon the successes of mathematics and physics. For a start, we perform poorly at mathematics as we score poorly compared to the Chinese or Indians on the GRE Quant section. We even have lower verbal scores on the same test compared to the Chinese whose first language is not English. So, we have to start by ensuring the majority of the populace LOVE mathematics and logic. We have to inculcate a culture of questioning concepts no matter how sacred they might be. We have to grow a culture of curiosity in the populace. Curiosity and questioning, I believe, are necessary ingredients to kickstart basic research. Why? How? What? When? Who? These are questions people should be free to ask, and when no answers, they should press further for them or conduct research to know why there are no answers. In summary, people should be free to ask questions and get answers to them. No question is too sacred to be asked or institution to be questioned. Basic research, not applied, is the bedrock of scientific development, but it is a long term stuff. It is not something one does today and expect profits tomorrow. Yes, if someone claims his or her solution is the best, they should commercialise it and become rich. Don't hide it. That is how the White man operates, ditto the East Asians. They use the proceeds of a discovery/invention/innovation to fund future research works. So, it is a never-ending journey. So, if the solution is good, then commercialise it. Make money out of it. If, because of financial constraints, it cannot be commercialised, publicise it so others fund the process and make money out of it. That was Artemisin was created by either Sanofi or Roche after the Chinese woman discovered the bark of the Artemisia tree could effectively treat malaria. The pharma company made money, and she won the Nobel prize in Medicine in 2015. So, anyone who tells you his or her solution to Problem ABC, tell that person to commercialise it or sell the methods to those who can. Any solution that works but cannot be commercialised is largely useless as it means it has no real-world application.

In return, the business environment should be free of any price regulation. I say this because should I, for instance, go into massive production of HPCF or ethanol, fellow Nigerians would moan that the price of garri has ballooned and the government should regulate the price of garri or set-up a commodity pricing board to dictate the prices at which farmers sell their produce. A way to leapfrog research is by learning from others who know it. At this point in human existence, I dare say there is no point in reinventing the wheel. For instance, there is a research institution in Kaduna that studies a certain class of crop and the national chairman of its growers said the best species is in Serbia. In that case, the government can invite those Serbians to teach those in Kaduna. In return, publicise the research results so that risky entrepreneurs go into the large production of the crop and harness its entire value chain to make money. Making money is EXTREMELY important in research o. So, meet someone who knows it, pay the person to teach you. Once grasped, go on your own and build on it. That is what the Chinese did. Just know that when you are progressing so fast and even faster than those who taught you, envy will come in. Pregnant wife arrested for allegedly faking her own kidnapping and extorting N2 million from her husband

A pregnant lady was detained by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on suspicion of staging her own kidnapping and demanding N2 million from her spouse.

Bennett Igweh, Commissioner of Police, made the arrest public on Wednesday. She said that her husband, Chiedozie Ubah, had filed a report, which led to the suspect’s capture. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Igweh says that on March 11, Chiedozie Ubah reported that his pregnant wife had left for a hospital visit but had not returned home to the Dei-Dei police station in Abuja.

Shortly after, Mr. Ubah received a distressing call from his wife, claiming she had been kidnapped and that her captors were demanding a ransom of N2 million for her release.

Out of concern for his wife’s safety, Mr. Ubah complied with the ransom demand and transferred N2 million into his wife’s bank account as instructed.

Upon her supposed release, he reunited with his wife and subsequently brought her to the police station.

However, during interrogation, the truth unraveled as the woman confessed to orchestrating the fake kidnapping scheme alongside a man identified as Walter Ezeala, who resides in their neighborhood.

Further investigations revealed that Walter Ezeala had received N800,000 from the ransom money, while the woman had pocketed the remaining balance of N1.2 million.

The police recovered a sum of N793,500 in cash, two FCMB ATM cards, and two Android phones from the culprits.

Both suspects are currently in police custody, and charges are expected to be filed against them for conspiracy, fraud, and extortion.

The statement reads;

“He later received a call through his wife’s phone number telling him that his wife had been kidnapped and demanded for two (2) million naira ransom before her release. He transferred the sum of two (2) million naira into his wife’s account as instructed by the kidnapper.

He later brought his wife to the station after her release. During interrogation, the wife freely confessed to have conspired with one man named Walter Ezeala ‘m’ living in the same street with them at Saburi to extort money from her husband.

The said Walter was arrested, and he confessed that his own share was eight hundred thousand (N800,000) naira and the lady took one million two hundred thousand naira (N1,200,000). The sum of Seven hundred and ninety-three thousand five-hundred-naira (N793,500) cash, two (2) FCMB ATM cards and two android phone was recovered from them.”
