Kobojunkie: By successful homes you mean women who endured in silence abuse and deceit in marriage from their husbands in silence, all at the cost of their mental health, abi?
I sometimes Imagine that we are actually living water, and the human body is simply a container we use to move around on land.
Drinking enough water also keeps the skin elastic and prevents premature aging.
Unlimitedwords: Discover Other Benefits of Drinking Water .
In the midst of scorching heat and the increasing harshness of weather, it is essential to prioritize our relationship with water. This is particularly relevant given the untold hardships faced in Nigeria, where weather patterns have become a reliable indicator of the challenging circumstances we face.
Outlined below are five fundamental benefits of water:
Regulates Body Temperature: Water plays a crucial role in maintaining a normal body temperature. As we perspire, water assists in the evaporation process, thereby cooling our bodies and preventing overheating.
Lubricates and Cushions Joints: Proper hydration ensures that our joints remain well-lubricated, reducing friction between bones and preventing discomfort or pain. By cushioning the joints, water also assists in shock absorption, minimizing the impact of strenuous activities.
Protects Vital Tissues: The importance of water extends beyond physical comfort. It acts as a protective barrier for sensitive tissues like the spinal cord, preventing injuries and maintaining their optimal functionality.
Assists in Waste Removal: Water is a key component of various bodily processes responsible for eliminating waste. Through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, water aids in the efficient removal of toxins and waste products from the body, promoting overall health.
Enhances Focus and Concentration: Remaining adequately hydrated is directly linked to cognitive function. Numerous studies have demonstrated that dehydration can impair concentration, alertness, and overall mental performance. By consuming enough water, we can ensure that our minds remain sharp and focused, enhancing productivity and overall well-being.
Recognizing the benefits of water is of utmost importance, particularly in the face of severe weather conditions and the increasing challenges brought about by climate change. By keeping our bodies hydrated, we not only protect ourselves physically but also optimize our mental and emotional well-being. Let us embrace a water-friendly approach and prioritize this essential resource for a healthier and happier life.
Our ancestors gave birth and died surrounded by family. Death wasn’t something you needed to go somewhere special to see.
Maybe that was why people were more grounded back then.
JuanXXx: So someone close to me died and her body was deposited at the morgue and luckily for me, the place is just a few step from my friends place ( I often sleep there).
Got there, I meet the attendant and it was only one guy on duty. I was sho, only you dey manage all dead body here, na boss you be oo.
I was leading the way and he told me to wait outside while he enter first and signal for me to come later. I sha allow him to lead and wait at the reception with my friend( baba dey fear give excuse).
Few minute, he told me to come and I obliged. Omo corps was littered everywhere. Normal local morgue oo. Formalin was used to persevere all of them and they are all of different size and shape. I knew I was going there to see some cadavers, but when I got there, a different reality was dawn on me. If is should count they should be more than 400. He showed me her body and I told him okay let's go. I spent less than 2 minutes, not because I was afraid but the stench be killing me. After that incidence, I see life from different perspectives. Like, at the end of the day we all equal. Omo, there is no class or status there. Everyone is equal, naked and laying next each other...
Just try to enjoy life while you are alive, try all your possible best to be happy with/without drug. Spread the happiness, if na joint share am and food or update.
From your write up it’s obvious it’s only money keeping you with him.
Raise the money and leave if you want.
Only you will enjoy or suffer any consequence.
An alternative is to look for grandmothers and older women with successful homes around you and ask for their advice.
Uzorbaby: Good evening house, I opened a new account for this issues. This is my ninth years in marriage with 3 kids and since the third year till now the problem I keep having with my husband is infidelity, when ever I catch him he apologises but still continues. Recently I found out he is into a single mother who claim to be a deconess and he opened a business for her and doesn't feel apologetic about it, this same lady when I had not discovered their affairs he sends her his last card and begs me for money. He calls her everyday , video calls her and sends her money frequently.right now I feel faustrated and depressed. I will really love to leave him and rent a house close to my shop but the amount to do that will greatly affect my business if I do that because I just started it 3 months ago. I just need someone I can talk to, gist about normal stuff of life so that my mind can move away from him pending when I will be able to rent a house. I just want to be happy
Iamanoited: NO. NOT SO. THE BIBLE IS THE WORD. OF GOD THAT WAS WITH GOD AT THE BEGINNING AND IS GOD. THE BIBLE IS DEMOCRACY. JUST FOLLOW THE MANTRA. DON'T BE HAMAS IN GAZA, BOKOHARAM IN NIGERIA, PUTIN IN UKRAINE NOR DISTABILIZE DEMOCRACY IN THE US.
Let those men enter with eyes open and a clear understanding of how to protect themselves.
MrBrownJay1: TRUE, but that certainly does not mean that no man should enter such system. many men are winning in marriage. many men are happy to give their ex wife whatever the law decides. it might be a loss to you, but it aint a big deal to many of these dudes. anything that benefits your children ultimately shouldnt be such a headache.
such an extreme way to look at that issue... what about A) having a tight prenup or B) put all your assets under a trust/LLC before getting married or C) dont get divorced and instead get a 2nd/3rd wife? that would solve the issue too, right? BTW the marriage system is not the problem here, the law on divorce is what matters, and i highly doubt that divorced Nigerian men have to give up as much as divorced men in the western world. when did you ever heard that a divorced Nigerian had to give half his wealth to his wife or even pay outrageous child support?
- what alternatives do you have for men that need a union focussed on COMMITTMENT/SECURITY/LEGACY? - what alternatives do you have for all the yeye religious men who are brainwashed to believe that unless legally married, they cannot have any physical contact with and/or mount a woman ?
Before now, getting a neighbour's gas cylinder to complete cooking when running out of yours was not a problem but the experience yesterday showed that every man on his own now in this country. I approached 5 neighbours and none was willing to help out, all due to hardship and high cost of cooking gas.
So as things are like this in the country today, everybody is looking for ways to survive. If it's hard on those who are working and earning handsomely, how much more of those earning pennies and those who are even job hunting like myself?
As a job seeker in this economy that is tearing body and soul apart, I decided to plan ahead of time by using my last money to cook beans that could take me for days
Wrong kind of beans.
The beans I bought turned out to be the type that doesn't get softened easily on cooking. After cooking it for about 45 mins, it was still very strong and here, my gas finished. Too bad. I thought i was still having plenty gas in the cylinder.
The beginning of more wahala for me.
As gas finished, who is going to bail me out? In this hard economy that is biting harder by the day? Where everybody holds their cylinder so precious due to N1400/kg.
As I wasn't with any money again to buy even half KG, I went round the compound asking for who can borrow me his/her cylinder to complete the cooking. At the end, nobody came to my rescue. Everybody was claiming gas is too expensive to be given out like that.
I looked up, it was far and down, it was close. What else should I do? Friends were also complaining of no money to borrow me.
What happened to my beans, my only hope for the week?
I had these two coconut in the house. I brought it out and looked for a buyer. Luckily I saw who was interested and bought the two for N700.
A sigh for relief That was how I was able to go refill half KG of gas and that helped me finish cooking the stubborn beans. I pray I will never get to buy that kind of hard beans again. Gas is expensive and so beans should consider that and done very fast.
Something for pocket How i wished i sold the coconut more than that amount for something to remain in my pocket, or possibly bought the gas for a lesser amount to remain small something for pocket.
Why am I telling the story? To share with you to know what I'm passing through, same thing most Nigerians are going through too. Times are hard! Really hard for most Nigerians. The present hardship is nothing but killing. God help us.
1. The modern marriage system is high-risk, low-reward for men.
2. Lower that risk by refusing to get into a 3-way contract with the government, a contract designed to screw men over in the name of getting married.
There are alternative arrangements with lower risks and higher rewards.
That’s all.
MrBrownJay1: its called HAVING AN OPEN MIND, even though i am against marriage. open your eyes and look around you, you definitely have dear friends, family members and/or close acquaintances that decided to get married... and although you are against marriage, dont you understand why these people got married? if you dont then the problem is not them, the problem is "you"
A large proportion of the women of this generation will never experience marriage.
The cat is out of The bag, thanks to the feminists and the divorce courts.
advanceDNA: complicate issues?? Madam, I don't get u ...ur conventional view of companionship, having children, and sexual satisfaction, Is not the only right or good standard....so people that aren't married in a church or mosque have no right to children?? No right to companionship or happiness and sexual satisfaction?? Madam thank God say u nor be God ..... As if the marriage u are talking is not rubbish these days...
The benefits doesn't apply to both sexes because u women birth kids u believe u have more rights over...u just treat the man as an ATM..claiming he got u pregnant as if u never wanted the child.... ..and once there is fight, u runaway with the kids like it's yours alone... Yet u expect him alone to be responsible for u and the kids like u said earlier...as if u did him a favour birthing the kids.....so he must pay..
. I don't usually get this part....if u don't have a husband won't u cook?? Won't u take care of ur house?? ..madam cooking is not a benefit in marriage ...there are foods everywhere to buy..sweet food sef...better than what some wife can cook...
MrBrownJay1: so are you claiming that all men in this day and age that gets married are taking a risk because a few got burned? so Jide the broke mechanic that got married is taking a risk? so the husband of Folorunsho Alakija was taking a risk? again, marriage is only a detriment to "yeye ignoramus" who go into marriage blindly. in this day and age, any man should understand what it means to get married, and protect themselves in case such marriage fail.
the reality is that men who marry LIABILITY type of women take a risk. YES; men who marry useless lazy good for nothing women take a risk, YES; men who marry yeye women that bring absolutely nothing (but warm coochie) to the table take a risk, YES.... but to claim that all married men do not benefit from marriage because of these yeye deluded men who jump into marriage blindly, is far fetched
The facts will not magically transform to fit your narrative.
And let them speak for themselves. Their need for security is not my business.
MrBrownJay1: FIXED remember, these guys need COMMITMENT/SECURITY/LEGACY etc in their lives. something that we dont get in long term r/ships. these issue may not be important TO YOU, but they are a deal breaker to these guys, furthermore, they can minimize the risk of hiccups with prenups or creating a trust/LLC owning all your assets before marriage.
as for the gov being in your business, today whether married or living together as a couple, the gov is always in your business.
You can have a solid long term relationship with a solid woman without involving the government in your business.
MrBrownJay1: lol you brothas should open your mind instead of dismissing what billions of people are into. i dont believe in marriage but that doesnt mean that i dont understand why people do get married. COMMITMENT/SECURITY/LEGACY etc are legit reason why some people wanna get married (whether we like it or not). lets stop focussing on the men VS women issue and instead focus on the issue of long r/ship vs marriage.
the important question IS: as much as we may not be down with marriage (to each their own), why should we automatically make it look like we are getting a better deal in a r/ship?! open your damn minds.... a r/ship is a better deal for us (who are against marriage), it aint to these guys who need COMMITMENT/SECURITY/LEGACY in their lives.
MisterBanny: I took a picture of Some NEPA staff trying to fix our Transformer with a Generator. It happened right before my very eyes in my neighborhood. They took the Generator to where the transformer is. And even in their office, they use the Gen.
I don't just know what to make out of this Country cos the situation is really bad.
derecho: Apart from OBIdients being the most intelligent set of Nigerians, they are capable of demystifying politicians/celebrities who hitherto had been larger than life.
Man102: Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, has accused former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, of depleting the country’s foreign reserve.
In an interview with TVC, Ngelale alleged that Emefiele took major financial decisions without the approval of former president Muhammadu Buhari.
He noted that expenses from the foreign reserve, reaching billions of dollars, were not approved by the former president.
The president’s spokesperson said that the CBN governor was in charge of most of the apex bank’s operations and also served as the chairman of the bank’s board of directors.
“What was done concerning the expenditure of billions of dollars from the foreign reserves was done largely without the approval or knowledge of President Muhammad Buhari and President Bola Tinubu,” Ngelale said.
“Yes, that might seem hard for some people to believe, but I want to explain how that could have happened.
“We have one of the few Central Banks in the world where the day-to-day CEO was the governor of the Central Bank and was also the chairman of the board of directors. He was essentially overseeing himself,” he added.
Emefiele is currently being prosecuted for alleged procurement fraud and forgery of ex-president Buhari’s signature.
